I have not played pokemon in years but your hq pokemon au has ignited a joy in me

I was wondering if you would be willing to share if you had any more ideas about the flying type gym (tenma, akiteru, akaashi) or like.. a theme color? because i'd love to draw them.. (alternatively any visual/design elements of anyone you'd like to see drawn because I am up for drawing any of the hq people!!)

so, more about the flying type gym.

so, i'm going to start by talking about the flying type gym!

theme color wise, i'm going to say blue, maybe? or honestly maybe even the fukurodani colors? i haven't thought much about theme colors for any of them (except for alisa) so whatever you think would look the best would be fine by me!

in my mind, i feel like tenma dresses pretty much the same way he did when we saw him in canon though. like, doesn't necessarily dress the way you would expect a gym leader to, lol.

akaashi and akiteru both do though!!

i know this isn't necessarily what you were asking about but i decided to take this moment to complete their teams as well! disclaimer that i'm not really an expert by any means on team building stats-wise but i did my best hehe.

tenma: braviary, gliscor, skarmory, oricorio (baile style), sigilyph

akaashi: noctowl, xatu, dartrix, swoobat, ducklett

akiteru: staravia, kilowattrel, archeops, tropius, mantine

as for design elements for other characters... i'll just make a bulleted list of some of my other ideas :3

i like the idea of alisa being a normal-type gym leader who dresses in pinks and purples. people often think she's a fairy-type gym leader when they first meet her. (the aesthetic of the actual gym is a little different because she's recently taken over after nekomata retired)

the theme color for saeko's gym is the karasuno colors! and i imagine her outfit is similar to what she wore at nationals?

i like the idea of suga having earrings inspired by his starmie! but that's really about it, i don't have any other ideas for what he wears.

ushijima (the champion) wears a cape inspired by his garchomp!! there's a notch in it similar to the notch in garchomp's fin (thank u ash who had this idea). color-wise, blues and purples i think?

and that's about it... really though the design aspects don't have to completely match what i'm envisioning, i'm just happy that you're thinking about drawing something for my au in general!!

warning: I will not spoil you guys EXACTLY what his e skill and burst and weapons but i will say things that will imply about them (obv) so if you don’t want that, then why are you guys even curious about this….

ARTIFACTS

note: i won’t be able to say which one is the best set for him bc obv he is not released and i do not have him yet. these are by far merely my observations and what i myself prepared for him (yes, i alr have artis for him. why? you know why)

Mono Electro/flexible DPS

- 2pc ATK% (shime, glad, echoes, vermil) + 2pc Thundering

- the reason why i named this “flexible DPS” is because of his team comp. you’ll be able to be flexible in terms of who you can pair up with him and even go Mono Electro if you want.

Electro DPS

- 4pc Thundering Fury

- have anyone seen the change in the 4pc set description? it’s so good! you’ll gain 40% more damage when you trigger any other ele with Electro while aggravate has 20%. Then they also decrease your e skill CD by 1s every 0.8s.

- cyno’s e skill is pretty similar to xiao’s, only with a lower CD and only has 1 charge.

- cons: you’ll need someone with a different element to trigger the 4pc (except the skill CD decrease)

EM DPS

- 4pc Gilded Dreams

- now this MIGHT just be his very best artifact set. i’m merely saying this because of his passives (which i wont specify but…) if you know how much raiden shogun needs energy recharge to give more damage, that is how much cyno needs EM.

- cons: you’ll also need someone with a different element to trigger the 4pc, BUT you will have to consider you team comp very much because it does affect the buff that you will receive (ATK% for each fellow electro member and 50 EM for every different element)

Other Artifacts I am not sure would work as well but is worth a try:

- 2pc Gilded Dreams/Instructor + 2pc Wanderer’s/Instructor (double EM/Mono EM)

- 2pc Thundering + 2pc Gilded/Wanderer’s/Instructor (ElectroEM)

- 2pc Noblesse + 2pc Gilded/Wanderer’s/Instructor/Thundering

- 4pc Instructor

- 2pc Instructor + 2pc Gambler/Berserker (or the other way around)

- 4pc Gambler

- 4pc Emblem [not so sure about this, and i think it’s best with other characters instead]

WEAPONS

note: again, i won’t be able to be sure what really is the best for him, but i’ll try to give my own rankings here. special mentions are the ones i suggest if you do not have the ones above. also, weaps with * are craftable.

Electro (can be mono) DPS

- Cyno’s Sig Weapon, Calamity Queller, Staff of Homa, Deathmatch R5, Primordial Jade Spear, Deathmatch, Blackcliff Pole

- special mention: *Moonpiercer

- for me, Calamity Queller probably is the best for him (sad i dont have it…) aside from his own sig weapon

- now the reason why i placed homa there is because of the high crit dmg. crit dmg is pretty hard to get imo and as long as you have it, you just need to add on crit rate with his artifacts, which is easier than the other way around

Burst Reliant DPS

- R5 White Tassel, Wavebreaker’s Fin (burst), The Catch (burst), R5 Halberd, White Tassel (normals), Halberd (normals)

- special mention: Skyward Spine, Engulfing Lightning, *Crescent Pike (normals)

- p.s. i am not SO sure about The Catch or Wavebreaker’s Fin because we still do not know if his burst counts as Elemental Burst DMG or as Normals. if it’s Elemental Burst DMG, then The Catch or Wavebreaker’s Fin is good, and it’s very much like Raiden/s. but if it’s based on normals, then he’s very much like Xiao, where his burst only adds damage to his Normals (and charged and plunging). with cyno, i am not so sure.

- Crescent pike’s main stat is absolutely useless, but the passive may help him if his burst counts as Normals

- White Tassel also counts as Normals, and it has crit rate.

EM DPS

- Cyno’s Sig Weapon, *Moon Piercer, Calamity Queller, Kitain Cross Spear, The Catch,

- special mention: Dragon’s Bane

- now these would be difficult to handle. as someone who prioritizes crit, this may be too difficult for you. also, crit is very important in this game, but IF and only if you get lucky with your artifacts, then these weapons can really make him stronger

- p.s. there is a new 4* weapon coming up (which i wont specify) but it will fall under this type and will be second best to Cyno’s sig weapon. this weapon is kind of like a Calamity Queller but a 4*. Of course Calamity Queller is a 5* so it has higher stats but at least MAYBE we can R5 this new 4* weapon.

Kalim: See you later everyone... Floyd! How long have you been here?

Floyd: About 30 minutes.

Kalim: I didn’t notice you at all... Were you watching the entire time while we were practicing our music instruments?

Floyd: Yeah. I was walking through the hallway when I heard music, so I became interested in who was playing it. It was a rhythm that I’ve never heard before, what’s up with that?

Kalim: It’s a tune we play when there’s a joyous situation back in my hometown Scalding Sands. Now that you say it, it might sound strange to foreigners. The rhythm of the main drum is quite interesting, right?

Floyd: It was... Weird! The melody of the flute and the guitar were weird, but the drum is definitely the thing I’ve never heard before. I can still hear it.

Kalim: Hahaha. I’m glad it left an impression. We’ll do our best to have this same atmosphere in three days, at the main event. I’ve heard that the new magician’s school in my country can do it as well. They entrusted the current principal to guide the founding magicians of that one. 

Floyd: So, magicians from another place come here? Why’s that?

Kalim: It might be to observe... They might want to spread the way of teaching at Night Raven College all over the world. Our college is famous, after all. Well, you can ask Jamil about the details. In any case, some guys from my hometown will visit soon. I think that holding a welcome banquet with music from my hometown will be super exciting for them!

Floyd: With a banquet, you mean a party, right? You’re not going for the standard piano and quiet songs?

Kalim: What’re you saying? It needs to have good food, a nice beat and flashy dances. I want to make it as lively as possible.

Floyd: Huh~ you know that sounds kinda fun~ That’s totally different from the ones I’ve experienced. The parties I know have people standing around, eating a little and exchanging greetings afterwards.

Kalim: I see. That sounds like a stuffy but classy party.

Floyd: Jade tells me to endure it, but everyone is as boring and quiet as a deep-sea fish. I think having a noisy party like yours, sea-otter, would be way more fun.

Kalim: Sea otter...you mean me? In any case, then you should come and see our party as well. Not only the guests but also the entertainers really enjoy themselves!

Floyd: Will you perform as well?

Kalim: Yeah, I plan to play the string instrument called the Oud. I’m also in the light music club and ever since I was young I’ve been good at playing instruments. Do you play anything, Floyd?

Floyd: I played some drums in middle school. Azul played the piano, and Jade was in charge of the bass. We played as a trio. Azul frequently told me to “Please follow the beat and don’t go crazy” and got angry.

Kalim: Haha, I can imagine.

Floyd: He was so mean. Jade said it was just an intense self-assertion. While we were struggling to find the tempo, Azul grumbled and matched our paces... It was fun.

Kalim: If you like music that much, you should enter the light music club! We can play together.

Floyd: I’m fine.

Kalim: But you like musical performances, right? It’d be a waste to quit.

Floyd: I don’t like being told by a human what to do... And right now, moving my body is the most fun. Lately I’ve been interested in dancing! Now that I have two tail fins, it’s been so entertaining. Sometimes I can’t even tell the difference between left and right.

Kalim: Tail fins? Left and right... ah, do you mean your legs?

Floyd: Yes, legs! Moving your legs is fun, so dancing is fun as well. I love fun things. I don’t want to do boring things. Applies to everything.

Kalim: I also love fun things! They’re the best! That’s why even if I love music, I also love dancing... You know, our hobbies are kind of the same, huh?

Floyd: Huh...you think so?

Kalim: Yeah, do you want to try performing together next time?

Floyd: Aha. With me? Okay, but I think you’ll be surprised at how good I am. 

Kalim: That’s fine, I’ve heard a lot about you. You should definitely show me how you dance.

Exterior Hallway 2F

Floyd: That class is finally over~ Today was such a noisy day, huh?

Jade: It seems that way because there were some associates of the Department of Education of the Scalding Sands present. They have come to observe Night Raven College.

Floyd: Ah, yeah, the sea otter told me all about it.

Kalim: Ah, here you are! Floyd, do you have a moment!?

Floyd: Huh, what are you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to hold a party for the great observers?

Kalim: That’s where I have a problem. The guy who plays the main drum has gotten a cold and can’t participate today. We’ve tried to rehearse without the drum but the song doesn’t feel authentic without the percussion... And that’s when I remembered you.

Floyd: Me?

Kalim: You said you had experience with the drum. Don’t you want to show off your technique to everyone? I’m sure performing together will be fun. Come on Floyd, let’s liven up the party together!

Floyd: Huh? Don’t wanna.

Kalim: ...Huh. What do you mean you don’t wanna?

Jade: Pf. Floyd, it wouldn’t hurt you to be more polite in your refusals.

Floyd: I don’t wanna do things I don’t like.

Kalim: But didn’t you tell me it was fine when I offered you earlier to perform together?

Floyd: I told you I didn’t like being ordered around by humans, didn’t I? And you know, I don’t feel like matching with y’all.

Kalim: You don’t have to force yourself to match the other guys. If you do things like you do, that’s fine as well.

Floyd: ... For real?

Kalim: Of course! As I said before, having fun at a party is essential! The guests and the entertainers should both have fun.

Floyd: Okay, then I’ll do it.

Kalim: Really?!

Floyd: Yeah. As long as I can do whatever I want.

Kalim: You really saved me, thank you, Floyd!

Jade: ... I’m looking forwards to Floyd’s performance, hehehe. I should let Azul know as well.

Scarabia Dorm - Lounge 

Kalim: Welcome to Night Raven College, everyone from the Scalding Sands. I am the dorm leader of Scarabia, Kalim Al-Asim. As a testimony to our welcome, we prepared music as a gift. These are tunes from everyone’s hometowns, so please have fun! Scarabia, and Floyd, are you guys ready?

Floyd: Yep.

Kalim: Then let’s go. Let’s have fun!

Jamil: W-What is the meaning of this...

Azul: Jamil, you’re late.

Jamil: Azul, why are you in our lounge? And furthermore, why is Floyd performing?

Azul: Kalim asked him to be a substitute. I came to watch as the dorm leader.

Jamil: I told him to cancel the concert! And while I was arranging the food that Kalim...!

Azul: Oh well, why don’t we enjoy the performance? Floyd’s drumming is quite good as well.

Floyd: Oh, you guys finally stood up. How about I’ll strangle you if you don’t get excited?

Jamil: What a terrible fuss. Certainly, a party should be enjoyed... But there’s a limit to everything.

Azul: Floyd’s drumming was popular in his home town. It had a rhythm that made you move your body just by listening to it. Well, the guy himself broke out in dancing all the time... It was always troublesome.

Jamil: If this isn’t a chaotic situation. Aah, how will I explain this to the principal...

Azul: Do not worry, I shall help you. That’s why I came.

Jamil: Why do I have the feeling it won’t be free of charge. My head hurts... I also feel like dancing and forgetting everything.

CoMC Chapter 117--THE LAST CHAPTER

CHAPTER 117

The Fifth of October

THIS IS IT, YOU GUYS! The LAST chapter!! And look at that name--we’re closing it off with just one last Dumas Countdown™, because this is the deadline at which our sad little son is supposed to kill himself. And/or discover Juliet. 

And I am off to listen! Wish me luck!!

OK I’M BACK, and I listened to it last night, and posted my “FIN” interlude, and now I’m finishing this! So bittersweet!!

So…… I don’t know what I was expecting. Hahaha I mean I guess I do, and in some ways it was spot on, but I was kind of expecting Val to pop in and stop Morrel from killing himself, not for MC to just… give him fake poison. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Time to do the thing I’ve been doing where I put the book on doublespeed and skip around! 

Also I didn’t do that and it’s days later because I procrastinated this for some reason wanted to give the story some time to marinate so I’m doing something unprecedented and I’m going to post this immediately after I write it. If I’d queued it like normal it would’ve gone up at like 4am today but it’s 10:30am and I still haven’t written it. (11:30am by the time I’m posting it! lol) Every other chapter went up by last night! But hey, LONG ONE INCOMING. 

Getting this out of the way in advance so I don’t have to end on this note: Albert is not, after all, ever mentioned again. 

So Morrell is sailed into Monte Cristo (the island not the d00d) by a guy who turns out to be Yucky Jacopo. He is a very sad guy because this is the last day of his life (no it isn’t), but he gets all happy when he sees his bff MC. And MC is happy too--he’s all laughy, which Morrel notes as him basically being a different person. But MC’s like “OH YEAH I FORGOT THAT HAPPINESS IS FLEETING” like okaaaaay. And Morrel’s like “well glad that you’re either feigning happiness for my comfort or you’re totally OK with my death which is in like 3 hours.” and MC’s like “I chose c) none of the above.” 

And MC’s like “wait you’re not feeling better? Weird!” And he does this WEIRD interrogation of exactly what kind of sad Morrel is and whether he’s “consoled” or not (“consoled” apparently includes being basically heart-dead). Morrel’s happy because MC’s going to give him a nice easy death and he can die in a friend’s arms. And it turns out Max has been kind of hoping for a miracle which is clearly not coming after all (yes it is). 

So Max is like “OK you know how you know literally everything and are basically from a higher plane and I trust you absolutely?” and MC’s like “yes that’s correct, go on?” (the higher plane is called “grief” btw). 

So it turns out MC’s concerned that Max is… not unhappy enough to be saved, and that would be horrible, because it wouldn’t be proper repentance for his sins. So MC’s like “here have $100 million and now you don’t have to die!” and Max is like “frist of all how DARE yo u” and MC’s like “OK phew just making sure”

So MC hands him the poison and goes “hey I’ll do it too!” and Max is like “but you love people and people love you!” (umm, don’t you have an adorable sister??) “in YOUR case it’d be a crime! No doing that, but I’ll give Valentine your regards. Toodles!” And he just… drinks it. And starts to fade out. Now obviously at this point it’s not real poison, haha. It’s definitely a drug though, because he can’t move or speak and is feeling all wonky. But then VALENTINE WALKS IN!!! Oh my god, she wasn’t dead???? This whole time??? I had NO IDEA!!! 

Now I was a bit worried at this point that he’d just… never believe he didn’t die. Like that this was heaven and no one could prove it wasn’t, haha. But that didn’t quite end up happening. So anyway they’re together now, and that’s MC’s atonement. And now MC goes “GIVE ME YOUR GRATITUDE. I NEED IT TO LIIIIIIIVE. POUR YOUR THANKS INTO MY EAR IT IS MY NOURISHMENT.” And Val totally does. But also she calls Haydee her sister, and MC’s like “oh good you love her that’s great because she’s yours now. I’m setting her free and making her a princess again.” 

And Haydee’s like “Yeah that’s fine, whatever you say. No I mean that literally. I will do WHATEVER YOU SAY ALWAYS BECAUSE I LOVE YOU. IF YOU YOU WANT TO [dramatic swoon motion, I assume] CAST ME OFF, I WILL GO! AND DIE! BECAUSE YOU SAY SO!” 

And MC’s like “wait wait wait wait wait are you saying you like… like me or something?” 

And Haydee’s like “I’ve literally been telling you that the entire book. I love you like an immediate family member! Where ‘immediate family member’ is a set containing ‘husband’!” 

And MC’s like “Oh I guess I can be happy then. Like I said in that one chapter that made Eddis so mad. FYI she’s still not cool with this at all, but it’s whatever.” (What a weird thing for Dumas to write in, amirite?)

So they go off to have their happily ever after or whatever and then Max wakes up and is like “wtf I’m not dead! That traitor!” and picks up a knife to finish the job and Valentine goes “I mean or maybe not do that?” And Max is like whaaaaat? Except also he just accepts it instantly. So they go off into the sunset.

They get a note from MC who, it turns out, just… left. Without saying anything. Off to go marry Haydee, one assumes. And speaking of what he left… his houses and stuff to Morrelentine, for starters. Which should be interesting. They’re actually going back to Paris? The city in which she’s supposed to be buried right now? That won’t be a scandal or anything, haha. But whatever, I guess there’s plenty of scandals in Paris. People will get over it eventually. Maybe. Anyway we did need to get Max back to Julie and Emmanuel. That’ll be a nice little family for Valentine, who’s never known love like they have just all the time.

Also Noirtier’s totally waiting for them in Foghorn Leghorn, where he wants to bless the marriage and presumably live with them forever. MC suggests that Val give her whole fortune to charity and also drops in “oh hey literally everyone else in your family is either dead or lost their damn mind, fyi.” But anyway she won’t really need the fortune now they’ve got Monte Cristo bux--because he’s leaving them the grotto treasure. 

So MC suddenly feels humility and remorse and realizes he’s not God, only God is God and he’s just some guy. And why did he let Max suffer so much when Valentine was liTERALLY ALIVE THE WHOLE TIME OMG? Because happy and sad only exist in their contrast to each other, and he needed to be vairy vairy sad before he could properly be vairy vairy happy. You have to die to appreciate life. And apparently all human wisdom is summed up in two words: Wait and hope. 

That seemed it should be the last line of the book, but it keeps going with their reactions. Except spoiler, it totally IS the last line of the book when Valentine repeats it. After the two of them wonder if ever see their father/sister again. 

WAIT AND HOPE. Audible hopes you have enjoyed this program! 

AND SO IT ENDS. (Also that Audible message sounded SO FAST after how slow our narrator talks--I really don’t think this book would be 53 hours read by anyone else, haha. But he did a great job though! Especially at 45% increased speed)

I still can’t believe it’s over! I’m already like halfway through my next audiobook, haha, because it’s actually a reasonably-lengthed book.

Chapter 8

Freedom Arc Start

Gaster was forced to relive that period of his life, over and over. At first, it felt like a coma dream, one he couldn’t escape or even wake up from. The only main difference after a while, was Chatch seemed happier each time, but also only seemed to get more bored as he realized Gaster had slowly grew immune to seeing this constantly over and over. It wasn’t exactly a great memory, but when done a lot again and again, it loses its effect as a mental torture method and becomes just a sorrowful one, especially when he couldn’t do anything to convince or stop Vedran from going, or even himself. Chatch would force him out anyways. The more bored Chatch got, though, the longer it took for it to happen again, until it suddenly stopped one time, and Gaster was finally allowed to wake up from what felt like a coma after a while.

As he started to come to consciousness, he could hear muffled voices that grew louder as he started to fully wake up. As the voices became more clear, Gaster recognized the female voice from right before he passed out, now acting shocked and excited.

“He’s awake! He’s awake!” Gaster opens his eyes, to see the owner of the voice closer, and pretty much towering over him. It was a young goat monster, a teen to be more specific. She was wearing some purple robe with some white crest on the chest. He blinked a few times, and she smiled, backing up a bit to allow him to sit up. “You’re alright!”

He sits up, holding his head, noticing he was laying in an actual bed rather than his makeshift one he had before. “Yeah- I am.” He mumbles, glancing around. He notices a monster leaning on the wall and smiling at him, his guess of the ‘teacher’, but didn’t pay too much attention to him at that moment. He also noticed his old ‘lab rat’ clothes, as he called them, was swapped out with a black robe that had a white crest, just like the girl’s but a different color. He checked out his clothes enough for the girl to comment on it.

“We gave you some new clothes since your old ones had… Blood on them and didn’t seem like something anyone would… Normally wear… We gave you something better to help!” She says, unsure at first, but then smiles at the end. Not normal huh? At least the fabric is soft in these clothes… He thought to himself.

“Thanks.” He replies, but says nothing else, and looks at his hand, which was bandaged up. It was also probably badly cracked but at least still usable. That’s something.

He went to get up, using his hand to lift him out of the bed, causing it to hurt and him to wince. He pulled it back in reaction, holding it in his other hand as he examines it, a bit frightened by the sudden pain. The girl seemed to jump at this too, getting a bit frantic.

“Oh you shouldn’t be using that it’s still damaged!” She says, a little panicky compared to just a minute ago. “Let me see your hand for a second.” He hesitates, but then slowly holds out his hand to her, which she gently takes in her paws. Her paws gain a green aura as the pain starts to slowly fade. “There!” She exclaims and lets go. “Shouldn’t hurt too much right now, but you’ll need to be careful with it until it properly heals.”

Gaster pulls his hand closer to him, looking at it a bit. Healing magic… “Thanks… again.” He mumbles.

“I should introduce myself, shouldn’t I? I’m Toriel! Toriel Proto! It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She says, giving a smile. Her panic a bit ago seems to have faded away by now. Gaster hesitates to introduce himself.

“I'm… Gaster. The name’s Gaster.” He says looking down. His first name was Wingdin of course, but now, he doesn’t want to use it as much anymore. It holds memories that hurt. The only person to call him by that name is now dead. It didn’t feel… Right anymore. Then again… Nothing seemed to. His whole world was flipped on its side.

“Well it is nice to meet you Gaster!” Toriel says, and what Gaster guessed was the teacher stops leaning on the wall and walks over. Gaster actually paid attention to what the other monster even looked like finally. It was a fish monster. He was mainly white scaled but had blackish-blue blemishes, and a black stripe down his back. Fins where his ears should be and a few gills on each side of his neck was also something Gaster noticed about him. He had a few scars on his sleeveless arms and one on his cheek. Looked tough to Gaster but also strange. He really doesn’t know too many monster species since Vedran didn’t have time.

“Name’s Gaster? Well it’s nice to meet ya! The name’s Nomeus Gronovii! Just call me Nomeus.” He had a wide grin as he crossed his arms and pointing at himself with one of his thumbs, not seeming all that menacing or threatening really, even with all the scars and terrifying looks he can probably give. Gaster just nodded, not really up to talking more than he has to. “So how old are ya?”

“U-uh 18 I should be…” He mumbles. That’s what Vedran told him at least. Then again, Gaster’s world was mostly centered around what Vedran had told and taught to Gaster. It’s not really a surprise though. He told him most of what he knows.

“Can ya do any magic?” He asks, which feels a bit random for Gaster. Nomeus’s face turns to a bit more serious one. “Normally most monsters should know by now. You’re a teen so you’re magic should be more stable to use then a kid’s.”

“Yeah, I can do some things with it.” It brought back some not so great memories on trying to think of all of the things he can do at the moment. Bones, blue bones, heal, some blue soul one, teleport, glow… He listed them in his head. He could do a lot but it wouldn’t be wise to do too much of it at one time… We’ve already seen what that does to a point.

“Neato!” His big grin returned at this moment, only to disappear as he got more serious again. “Good thing ya do. There seems to be a new tension rising. I’d stay clear of any humans. They haven’t been very nice recently like they use to.”

“I’ll remember that…” Not like Gaster already planned that before. “So… Where are we exactly?” He asks Nomeus. Nomeus perks up and smiles at the question.

“The Royal Magic School! I’m the teacher here, appointed by the king. For all the monsters that live around the castle area. We’re off hours now though.” Nomeus explained, surprising Gaster a bit. The… King? For around the castle area? How far was the lab from everything? Then again, where is it? “Miss Toriel here found ya cause she was trying to show me something she found, but I guess we’ll leave that for later now. Gotta take care of ya and so far it looks like you’re fine now.” Toriel suddenly lit up as she got an idea, gasping with a smile. She turns to Nomeus.

“Why don’t we enroll him here? It’ll help out since the tension recently and we can still make sure he’s alright!” She suggests, giving Gaster a shock. Nomeus apparently didn’t have to think as he smiled.

“Sounds like an alright idea to me! Whatcha say Gaster? You’re the one that says whether or not this happens.” He asks, putting Gaster in a small spot of pressure on his decision. He didn’t know what to expect. It can’t be too bad right? Only gains from this? If any, only a few consequences? He hesitated to even say anything.

“S-sure. Sounds n-nice.” Whether that was a lie or not, Gaster was a bit unsure himself. Whether he regretted that choice, it would be found out later…

A while later, Gaster was showed around the school a bit, which wasn’t all that big surprisingly. It was mostly outside, which wasn’t too much a surprise with it being a magic school, a big classroom, and a few rooms like the nurse’s office at the front area, which is also where Gaster was being taken care of. Most of the areas were pretty typical for a school, of course. It wasn’t till after Nomeus began to ask where Gaster lived. He expected he lived in the area or something obviously if he was letting him enroll here.

“So where’s your place?” Nomeus asks, turning to face Gaster but now walking backwards. Gaster stares at the ground as he walks, holding his arm for comfort. This question was bound to be asked sometime.

“I-I uh, don’t really live anywhere…” Gaster’s voice was a bit quiet, but still audible at least. Nomeus was but surprised by his answer, but smiled.

“Nowhere huh? That’s alright! Explains a bit on ya being in the woods like that, even if not that far in. No parents then I’m guessing?” Nomeus asks and Gaster just shakes his head, stiffening a bit at the thought. Nomeus took a minute to think. “I’ll take ya in then! Then again, with your consent, ‘course.” Gaster looked up in surprise, stopping and both Nomeus and Toriel did too. “So what’ll it be? I’ll let ya take as long as ya need to decide.” It didn’t sound too bad an idea to Gaster… Better than surviving alone or something.

“I- s-sure.” He said sheepishly and smiled a bit at them. He took a breath to regain his composure. Thanks to his magic making hidden lungs to power his body with oxygen and even give him working, liquid blood, he was able to do these things and he was a bit glad for it. The magic even made the stuff unseeable, but it’s there, just hidden so it’s less magic needed.

“Hey! Ya smiled kiddo!” Nomeus randomly shouted, at least to Gaster, which took the skeleton by surprise. He lost his composure all over again.

“I-I u-uh…” He was shaking a bit, he hadn’t realized how comfortable he felt around these people who were trying to genuinely help him. He really didn’t want to. Another relationship of any kind with someone, friendship or fatherly or even love which he doesn’t understand or know too much even with Vedran trying to explain, it felt… scary to him. He didn’t want what happened with Vedran to happen again. He didn’t want to get attached and to lose that person again. Before he did understand how devastating it can be, but now, he completely does and wants to avoid it at all costs. Even if he made a friend, or bond like these two now, he definitely won’t get as attached as he did Vedran.

“Lighten up! It’s a good thing!” With all that thinking and worry, Gaster never realized Nomeus had came around to pat him on the back. “More ya smile, the less people worry and as they say, the longer you’ll live! Whether it’s true or not, who knows!” He gave Gaster a big grin, and a few seconds later, Gaster weakly smiles too. “Now it’s time to take ya to my place!” Nomeus says and randomly picks up Gaster, slinging the now frightened skeleton over his shoulder.

“Wh- w-wait!” Gaster says in a panic as he gets picked up. Toriel giggles where Gaster can see until Nomeus turns to her.

“Can ya get home on your own? I don’t wanna leave ya here if ya can’t.”

“I will be fine! Just take care of Gaster.” She says, still giggling a bit. Nomeus nods, looking at the skeleton over his shoulder.

“Hang on or you’re gonna end up meeting the ground kid!” Nomeus says with a big, worrying grin as he begins to run towards his place as fast as he can, Gaster doing as told and hanging on best as he can from that position. Toriel waves at the now screaming, and probably crying, skeleton as the two head off to Nomeus’s home.
