Something I've always been curious about: How did you end up choosing the name Nienna? What drew you to her in particular?

I've always been really fond of pantheons, real or fictional. I think people's gods tell you a lot about their culture and their world. It's one of those things I could talk about for an hour unprompted. So I was already primed to be interested in the Valar.

But to answer your question for Nienna specifically - it's what her presence says about the world. Yes, there is tragedy. There is grief and death and loss. But the Children are never alone in their grief because Nienna has compassion for the whole world

She has the kind of energy that I want to bring to life. Empathy for people's hurts, attempts to understand them and give them the benefit of the doubt.

(There is also a silly reference to the mild oath "Jesus Wept" in my name because I contain multitudes.)

To answer in a more personal way, and cw: grief

The only thing I wanted when my father passed away was not to feel like I was the only one morning him. He was a pretty difficult person at times - he didn't have many people at the end - and I felt so alone in missing him. When I read about Nienna - I wished she was real so I wouldn't have to be all by myself.

Anyway, Nienna is my favorite Vala; thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

How’s your day been so far?

Well, let’s see. I worked 60 hours this week, published like four different things, ran a covert intelligence op for a friend, went out for brunch with the gals, got absolutely hammered at the bar, took a nap, and after I hit legs at the gym tonight I think I might try to write another chapter of borderline.

I forgot if you ever brought up this before, but where did you get the idea for glam rock Sophie? It’s a neat style and cute design to give her from time to time.

Well basically during my latest rush of outfit memes I got 2 requests for Sophie in two k-pop-glammy outfits and I liked those a lot. They made me realise that Sophie doesn't have a "stage" outfit so I designed one for her (Glamrock Sophie 1.0 dress). With that came the plotline about her being in a band at some point (I'm considering designing the rest of the band since I already daydreamed about their personalities enough XD). Then I redesigned the dress into a pants+leotard+puffy jacket situation because it fits Sophie's personality more, there's more flare to it

Can you tell me about Sweetest Devotion, please? 🥹

Oh myyyy, this has been a struggle since i realized how pointless OC is lol I love the story, but you know when you realize a character just doesn't bring anything to the story? That's where I'm at. The main idea was for OC to stumble onto the Coocham crew and tag along (forcefully) during the events of season 4 - where she and Osferth would become friends and ya know..... moree 👀 I don't have many dialogues planned out, but I am now trying to re-hash the whole thing to see where it can become better. It's a lot of pining and some fluff, and angst (obviously 😜) and an attempt at smut.... maybe.

OH! And it will be a "supernatural" fic :3

2. Chocolate bars or lollipops?: Lollipops! I like both chocolate bars as well, but hard sweet candy is my favorite.

9. Favorite smell in the summer?: The smell of burning wood is my favorite smell. Evening bonfires or even a fire by the lake is really nice.

18. Ideal weather?: Just cold enough for a hoodie, or snowing at night time. Those are probably my favorites!

hmm, this one is hard because i rarely have alternative titles, i feel like! they're usually all untitled projects until something clicks in place and then there's no question about it.

but if i remember correctly, honey whiskey was nearly titled you believe me like a god (i’ll destroy you as i am), which is a mitski lyric i adore; however, i opted for a slightly more positive title—alas, still literally bittersweet. ❤️‍🩹

edit: i forgot i have a whole-ass wip with like ten title options, if that counts? i think i settled on a different one, so i can give this one away: l'equazione dell'amore del genio. 🫡

Ah, very much so.

Seems she has managed to somehow get worse as of late. Which is impressive, honestly. Things between the two of us have gone to hell in a hand basket so quickly that we can't even have a single conversation without her flipping, but it's my fault, ya know? Always is.

But otherwise I'm okay! Making it though.

It's just a quirk that my life in general is a shit show at any given moment.
