SPELLBINDING SMITE 3rd-level Abjuration

Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when a creature you can see within 60 ft. of you targets you with a spell Range: Self Components: S, M (a melee weapon which you are proficient in) Duration: 1 round

You brandish your weapon and attempt to cleave through the threads of magic that would ensnare you. Make a Constitution saving throw against the creature’s spell save DC. On a success, the creature's spell fails and the magic is absorbed into your weapon.

The next time you make a melee weapon attack before the end of your next turn, you deal additional force damage equal to the number of d8s corresponding to the spell level you absorbed. For example, if you absorbed a 4th level spell, you would deal an additional 4d8 force damage.

summary: After realizing that their feelings for each othere were mutual, Austin Powers and Lizzy decide to host a big party at his pad to celebrate

author's note: Thank you so so much for commissioning me, Lizzy! I enjoyed writing this so much! Austin's dialog was fun to do! :)

“Wait, seriously?” Lizzy couldn’t help but be shocked at what she was hearing.

“Totally!” Her friend replied, “He’s like, super into you! I’m shocked you didn’t even notice!”

Lizzy thought back to all the times she interacted with the well-known Austin Powers. How he was very attentive to her, always gently touching her arm or shoulder, how he seemed to hang on to every word she said. She always assumed that these behaviors were just his personality but it became obvious that these were the actions of a man in love. 

She felt her face flush, “I…I like him too. Wow, I didn’t know it was mutual!”

“Don’t talk to me!” Her friend giggled, “Go find him and tell him you feel the same, silly!”

She didn’t hesitate to do what her friend suggested. Without even saying goodbye, Lizzy ran off to try to find Austin. She wrote a whole speech in her head and recited it over and over while searching for him. Once she saw him, though, all of those words flitted away and it was almost like she never thought of them in the first place. Despite that, Lizzy still took a deep breath and confidently strutted towards him with a smirk.

“Well, well, well,” Austin greeted, giving her a goofy grin, “I was hoping I’d see an angel today and here you are! Guess my prayers have been answered.”

She chuckled, “So, a little birdy told me something about you.”

“Oh? What did it tweet about?” He asked, his smirk still plastered on his face.

“Well,” Lizzy began, “It told me that you have feelings for a certain angel you were praying for.”

Austin nodded, “I think it told you the truth. Does my angel have a response to this little bird?”

Instead of responding, Lizzy leaped into his arms and gave him a big squeeze. Surprised at the sudden contact, Austin initially froze before returning her hug. They stayed like that in each other’s arms for a moment before Lizzy pulled away to look him in the face.

“I love you, too.”

“Woah! Moving fast, aren’t we?” He joked, “That’s okay, baby, I like it fast.”

“Shut up!” She giggled.

Austin hugged her again and twirled her around, smothering her face in kisses before saying, “Never. I can’t not say how much I love you, too.”

Lizzy melted into his kisses and felt her face grow warm again. It made her happy knowing that she could now officially label herself as “Austin Powers’ Girlfriend”.

“So,” He stopped kissing her briefly, “What should we do to celebrate? I personally think we should have a swinging party at my pad.”

She thought for a moment and grinned at him, “A party sounds like the perfect way to announce our new relationship!”

“Groovy!” He replied excitedly, “Well, what are we waiting for? We need to set it all up, don’t we?”

“Let’s go, then!” Lizzy grabbed his hand and squeezed it before tugging him along behind her.

He laughed and let her lead the way back to his pad, watching her with lovestruck eyes. Once they got to his place, they had a hard time keeping their hands off each other. They kept wanting to hug, cuddle, and kiss instead of planning their party. Eventually, they pulled themselves together and planned together, still sneaking kisses and hand squeezes here and there. Together, they figured out the music they wanted, the decorations, and the food. All that was left were the invitations. Austin and Lizzy took turns making the invitations and sealing them in the envelopes, sometimes putting stamps on each other instead of the envelopes.

“I think that’s the last one!” Lizzy chirped, slowly peeling the two stamps Austin stuck on her cheeks.

He had many more stamps on his face and tried to look at the one placed on his forehead, “Perfect, Liz, perfect! We gotta send ‘em out, though.”

Then, they sent them out together and the last thing they needed to do was wait. Due to Austin’s immense popularity, there was an amazing turn out the day of the party that shocked both Austin and Lizzy. 

Austin’s 60’s themed pad was packed to the brim with excited party guests. There were so many people that neither he or Lizzy were sure they knew the names of everyone. Despite that, everyone there knew the new couple and made sure to find them at some point during the night to send their congratulations. Many confided in them that they were a bit envious of their newfound love and hoped that they’d find some themselves soon. 

Every time someone confessed that they were jealous of his new relationship, Austin gave them the same response, “Well, you’re here now, aren’t you? There’s a lot of pretty people here, too! Get groovy with the one of your dreams and give it a shot!”

Every guest that got his advice made sure to use it. To them, Austin Powers was the King of Flirting. It would be a waste to not listen to him when it came to trying to woo the one you have your eyes on. They all looked at Austin gazing at Lizzy longingly and took inspiration from them to find someone they could do that with. What was originally a party to celebrate the budding love between Austin and Lizzy slowly morphed into a speed dating party. Not that either of them minded.

“It’s awfully cute that our guests are trying to find love, too.” Lizzy commented, taking a long sip of her drink.

He nodded, “It’s very, very cool. We’re like the Mona Lisa of love.”

She giggled, “That’s awfully presumptuous. I don’t think we’re that great.”

“I disagree, Liz,” Austin smirked, “And I think our party does, too.”

“I guess so.” She leaned in and kissed him, smiling against his lips.

He returned her kiss happily and made sure that everyone at the party could see them expressing their love for each other. The rest of the party was spent encouraging love, sharing kind words and flirty vibes, and congratulating Lizzy and Austin.
