Ok im sorry, I know I just posted the picture for #ThankfulForInversions day 9, but I like the real time vid better so I archived the photo. 😬🙈 I think the behind-the-scenes video of her climbing up me while whining is just cute. 😚. She’s really a mamas girl lately, and it doesn’t bother me. One. Bit. 😊💕 Like today, she legit gave me a real, sweet, kiss. I died. 🧘🏽‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️. . PS she is 7mo now!! 😱. . . . The thing about yoga is that it starts creating energy flow in areas where energy may have been stagnant for a long time, and it could bring up old emotions. It’s neither good nor bad, it just is. But the practice then goes a level deeper when you start figuring out what to do with these emotions when the appear. . I’ve always never felt like I fitted in anywhere. Indians don’t consider me truly Indian. Malaysians don’t consider me truly Malaysian. I’m not “foreign enough” to be considered a foreigner either. Even in the yoga world, I’m neither traditional nor mainstream. I love the practice as a whole, but I’m not a strict Ashtangi, Iyengar or any other yoga classification, and so my journey hasn’t been as linear or common as most practitioners. Sometimes not fitting into these categories bothers me. But the practice off the mat is reminding myself of ‘ahimsa’ - the practice of non violence. Besides the obvious, for me, ahimsa also translates to accepting myself fully for who I am. There isn’t a need to cut off a piece of me in order to fit into an acceptable cookie cutter shape. These jaggers pieces that stick out are also me, and they are just as beautiful. . Learning to love starts from within. I didn't sleep well last night either, but I couldn't care less!
