Urdhva Padmasana also known as Upward Lotus is a yoga posture done in the Ashtanga yoga finishing series followed by Sarvangasana. This posture must be attempted only when one is proficient in padmasana and Sarvangasana. This is one of the head low postures hence known to give all the benefits the same as one derives while performing Shirshasana or Sarvangasana.

Lord Buddha is seated in dhyana asana, the meditative pose also called padmasana, with his hands in vitarka mudra. Vitarka mudra is interpreted as the hand gesture that evokes the energy of teaching and intellectual discussion, or argument. The circle formed by the thumb and index finger create a constant flow of energy and information. The art of wood sculpture goes back to the glorious epoch of the Khmer empire and the monumental constructions that gave rise to the Angkor temples. Our artisans have inherited patience and meticulousness from their ancestors in the trade. They have learned to capture the movements used in olden times and master the traditional tools in order adapt to their personal lines of work. This wood sculpture is a one of a kind statue, hand carved by the artists of Cambodia.

She loves it so much that she uses some poses (like the lotus) outside of practice. She always sitting in that position and is VERY flexible too :p

BALIPORTALNEWS.COM, TABANAN - Sebagai sarana untuk menjaga keseimbangan alam dan manusia serta memperkuat tali persaudaraan, Pemerintah Kabupaten Tabanan menggelar upacara Memakuh, Mendem Dasar, Melaspas Alit, Ngaturang Guru Piduka, Caru Manca Sanak, Nuasen Karya, Nyukat Genah, Ngawit Nanceb Wewangunan Karya, Minggu (3/12/2023), dalam rangka Upacara Panca Wali Krama yang Puncaknya akan dilaksanakan pada 27 Desember 2023 mendatang. Karya yang berlangsung di Padmasana Kantor Bupati dan Padmasana Rumah Jabatan Bupati Tabanan, berlangsung tertib dan khidmat. Nampak Bupati Tabanan yang diwakili Sekda I Gede Susila, para Asisten, seluruh OPD, Para Camat Se-Kabupaten Tabanan serta para ASN di lingkungan Pemkab Tabanan, Bendesa Adat dan Prajuru Adat Kota Tabanan turut berkontribusi dan mengikuti persembahyangan yang dimulai sejak pukul 7 pagi hingga pukul 1 siang tersebut. Rentetan Karya Agung ini, mulanya dimulai pada Saniscara Paing Kelawu di tanggal 2 Desember 2023, dengan kegiatan mereresik, matur pakeling/matur piuning, masang ider-ider, sementara puncak acara direncanakan berlangsung pada Buda Paing Landep, tanggal 27 Desember mendatang dengan upacara Ngenteg Linggih dan Pujawali. Bupati Tabanan tentunya berharap, Karya ini bisa berjalan lancar dan sesuai dengan yang telah dicanangkan. Melalui Sekda I Gede Susila, pihaknya berpesan agar mengajak seluruh komponen untuk menyongsong karya agung ini dengan manah lascarya, gotong royong dan tulus ikhlas. Susila juga mengapresiasi semangat gotong royong seluruh jajaran dan staf yang menunjukkan kesungguhan dalam mengikuti ritual ini sampai selesai serta menjaga dan mempersiapkan Karya ini dengan sebaik-baiknya. I Gusti Ngurah Supanji selaku Inspektur Tabanan dalam pelaksanaan karya saat itu turut menambahkan arahan dari Bupati Sanjaya, bahwa Kegiatan Karya haruslah dilaksanakan dengan riang gembira, bersama-sama dan tulus ikhlas. Hal tersebut tentunya agar memberikan dampak rasa saling memiliki, terutama terhadap bangunan di tempat kita bekerja, dan mampu meningkatkan semangat serta etos kerja di kalangan Pemerintah Kabupaten Tabanan. "Kita semua, disarankan oleh Bapak Bupati untuk melaksanakan Karya dengan riang gembira. Jadi apapun kegiatan yang bersifat riang gembira itu nanti bisa disebarluaskan di kalangan OPD. Jadi, timbul rasa saling memiliki. Saya berharap, hari ini kita dibantu oleh Desa Adat Kota, mari kita tingkatkan rasa memiliki Karya ini," jelas Ngurah Supanji.
