A few thoughts on that if I may ✍️

The first time she snuck in your room, she convinced you to watch a movie with her. It started out innocently at first. "what the hell are you two doing when i'm away?" it sounds so embarrassing as they have you on your knees, face and chest pushed into the mattress and ass high, reddened and aching with the impact of sae's hand - sure to leave bruises for the next few weeks :( "you let her talk to you like that? really, rin?"

there's an agitated sigh as he has to hold your hips in a frim grip when you come for what seems like a tenth time, squeezing his fingers so tight his knuckles ache. it's been, what - probably at least an hour and you already have enough - and you're already crying into the sheets, squirming around as if you haven't learnt anything from his scolding.

rin's many things, but not a liar - and so he doesn't even try to deny the way he's nearly coming untouched at the sight of you, so fucked out already :( he's just about to tell sae that hey, s'enough, until he reaches to grab at your face gently and you scurry away :( sniffling and choking back tears, earning a look of surprise from both of your brothers - especially sae, who watches in amusement as rin's eyes darken and hand twists into your hair, giving a rough tug forward.

"hand her over." he grunts to the elder, eyes trained on your face as you give him the most pathetic look - so stuck up, as if you had any reason for it. only now does he realise that fuck, you really are such a fucking tease - such a brat, and it's about time you learned that it's not how they're to be treated. "'ve had enough of this attitude of yours, pretty."

Sevika was so awkward about the whole thing. She never said she didn't want to, she even proposed to you but...sometimes, it was just hard to read her mind.

Jinx–the precious, but utterly chaotic child–burst in with a smile, blue dress shimmering as she tugged on your arm. "C'mon silly! It's time for you to marry that stupid ogre! And I called dibs walking you down!"

Already? Your heart beat wildly in your chest. Jinx had insisted on being the one to escort you down the isle, but now she seemed to be the one to also simply hold you up. You couldn't breathe. The sun shown down on the cherry blossom trees around you, and the air was crisp with spring. It was all so pretty–the white and rose gold coordinated furniture and decor–but nothing compared to her.

The white suit made your cheeks burn and breath falter, she didn't have her hair tied in the back. It fell neatly to frame her face, and when you looked into her eyes you felt a similar understanding pass through the both of you.

The thought of "Oh, she looks beautiful today."

Was it fitted just for her body? You figured it had to be. It was the only way to explain the giddiness you felt inside your chest, just like the day you'd first met her. The violins played, and people turned to watch as you and Jinx walked down the isle, but your eyes only remained on Sevika, and hers on yours.

When you stood before her, you realized she wasn't breathing. She was so still. So frozen you thought she'd eventually pass out–but then she let out a breath. And when she whispered, it was as if she wasn't sure the air would carry the weight of her words.

"You look...perfect, y/n."

You smiled like the sun was your priest, shining it's approval of your love down on you. The "I do"s fell past both of your lips as if they had been waiting there for years, just begging to come out. Your lips hurt from smiling, and hers did too.

When you stood on the tips of your toes to kiss her, all the worries from before melted away.

She held you like she couldn't believe you were there. Arms wrapped tightly around your waist as yours went around her arms, and the joy in your heart muffled out the screams of joy around you both. Finally.

Sevika wasn't the biggest for public affection, but that day she was. Kissing your neck and holding your waist, murmuring my wife this and my wife that, to anyone that would hear.

She was happy. So clearly giddy that she was yours, and you hers–and it made you feel foolish, to think there was a moment you worried she didn't want to marry you in the first place.

Ahah would you believe me if I told you I’ve been kicking around a different/updated version of Our Hemisphere for the past few months? No real promises and the original would absolutely stay as is—but I’ve changed so much as a writer and I have so many more ideas for those characters and I wanna write with them again!

-I’ve never been one to research The Real Guys when it comes to fic bc I’m working with a character and not a historical figure, and fandom at least seems to believe that Eddie has a million siblings so I wanted to hop on that train! My dad grew up as the second-youngest of 13 siblings and the absolutely wild shit they got up to? Incredible. And Eddie was so good at working with the guys in The Pacific I couldn’t help but picture him as the eldest, especially with my darling baby Ruthie, I literally love her so much, I just wanted to give Eddie someone he could pour all his love into and someone who would love him unconditionally. I’m the youngest sibling, I know all about idolizing older brothers.

-Joe, my other love, isn’t the villain of course, just someone with a lot of emotions he doesn’t know how to handle. He came out of the idea that there were lots of guys who 4F who became really depressed and sometimes took their own lives. Joe spent a lot of time resenting Eddie for having what he couldn’t. Then, even worse, he’s not even grateful for it, he comes home all fucked up over it and Joe didn’t even get to go! Add onto it that Eddie’s sleeping with a man and Joe just… can’t deal. He’s just sad, and he deserves better.

-fun fact, the Ruth in my newer version of Our Hemisphere does not immediately take to Eddie upon his return bc she literally doesn’t remember him. And now there’s this fuckin dude? Just in her house? Excuse me? She warms to him eventually tho, and then they’re inseparable

And omg Soph, my angel, my absolute shitster. When I wrote The Tulip I was friends with this girl who had a little sister who was like 3(?) at the time and she was sooo smart it was a riot. I based a lot of Sophia around that idea. She’s the kind of kid you love to death but who can’t stop getting in trouble because she’s so observant and has no tact (bc she’s in like, preschool). Lot’s of gray hairs for Walt. Ray only encourages her.

AHH THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING GIAB. I am like, beside myself with happiness that I’ve been able to continue it! And now that ch 3 is out it’s been way easier to continue into ch 4, which has like 2k words so far. I have so much story in my head here, like, it fucking goes places.
