I don't know why I can't reblog the three facts post you tagged me in. But I wanted to share what I wrote with you so you wouldn't think I didn't want to respond.

1.) I have 4 nieces (one recently passed away last year), 1 step niece, 4 nephews, 1 great nephew and 1 step great nephew. And they are from my brother and his wife. Mind you, I'm just in my early 30s.

2) Speaking of family, there's a huge age gap between me and my siblings. My brother is 19 years older than me, and my sister is 9 years older than me.

3) Okay, I need a non-fam fact. I was my high school class salutatorian. It was a battle between me and my friend, but in the end, she ended up being the valedictorian. It felt good being Miss Know-It-All back then. Now I'm Ms/Mx. Don't Know A Damn Thing.

currently reading: I'm reading The Two Towers for the first time! it's going slowly bc I haven't been setting aside that much time for reading, but I've been enjoying it. also been dipping into See No Stranger by Valarie Kaur for the nonfiction fix

currently watching: Dimension 20's Fantasy High: Junior Year baybeeeeeee (gotta watch the new episode tomorrow!!!)

currently obsessed with: the podcast Secret Feminist Agenda, which is an interview podcast hosted by one of my favourite feminist scholars, Hannah McGregor. it reminds me very much of having conversations with my grad school pals, which are 1/3rd going "WOAH THAT THING YOU'RE WORKING ON IS SO COOL!!!", 1/3rd going "man, institutions SUCK" and 1/3rd going "my god i've said praxis so much in the past 30 minutes." it's very funny and very comforting, and it's really reignited my enthusiasm for my own research after dealing with some... let's say negative feelings towards academia after finishing the phd. academia may not love me & i may not love it but boy do i love cool scholarship presented in really fun & engaging ways <3

it's also making me want to start a podcast, which is a real problem because i already have approximately a million projects i want to do WHOOPS

Currently watching: Other than dissociating in front of YouTube video essays about topics that may or may not be interesting to me...? My girlfriend is obsessed with Yugioh so I'm slowly making my way through its first season! It's... Kinda endearing?

Currently reading: I'm not currently reading anything *but* I just got a few books at a bookstore while on a road trip, so I'm excited to (put them in a pile of other recently purchased books and not read them for months) dig into one of those soon!

Current obsession: I've been on kind of a warbirds kick lately so I keep watching videos of inertial engine startups and Spitfire and Mustang flybys and low passes so the part of my autistic brain that likes aircraft engine noises gets some dopamine!

I'm not working on any wips right now, but I have been filling a slew of prompts for the Three Sentence Ficathon on Dreamwidth. Here's the last line from my most recent fill (LOTR, Théoden & Éowyn, crossposted on AO3 if you'd like to read the rest of it):

Éowyn nodded, though a shadow came over her face at the mention of Gríma’s name, and Théoden drew her into his arms, stroking her hair as he wondered at all that had passed while he had been kept blind and witless, and he tucked his chin against her shoulder and held her close against him.

That sentence is far too long for the slim number of writing mutuals I have, so I'm going to cheat and just tag @starry-mantle @musicboxmemories @southfarthing if you feel like doing this!

soo @sweetearthandnorthernsky tagged me in a "Six(-ish) Sentence Sunday Whenever I Get Around To It-day" where I give around six sentences of a WiP! I'm not currently writing anything per-se, but I have had Margim and Celeair rotating in my head lately <3 so here's a littol bit of their brief stay in Ithilen before Margim is forced to leave

She turns the strange plant over in her hand again, still mesmerized by the colors and delicate shape of it, "...what did you say this was called again?" she asks, her eyes still fixed on the flower.

"That is an Alfirin flower" He smiles softly as he looks at her, and then to the small flower in her hands, the beauty of which he had taken for granted until now.

His brief although very traumatic stay in Mordor had granted him a greater appreciation for these little things.

Feeling the warm sun on his face, the black land of Mordor felt so distant now, but this was not so for his companion, darkness and death was all she knew and she looked upon Ithilen as it teemed with life and light in bewildered amazement.

It's beauty seemed almost incomprehensible to her.

"Al...ferin?" the word felt strange on her lips, though not unpleasant.

These elvish names were so unlike the harsh words of the Black-Speech and did not come naturally to her, she spoke very little in general for most of her life and familiarizing herself with the names of things in this land almost felt like learning a third language to her.

A difficult task, but one she was willing to undertake, for it made Mordor seem just a little further behind her.

'this isn't enough for me anymore'. you thought this was enough for you at some point, or maybe you hoped that it would be, but it isn't, and it hurts. you need to change something, or die trying. this - life like this - does not make life worth living. there is a lump in your throat that demands attention every waking moment of the day. there is pain in your body like a cavernous maw you cannot keep balance over. this is not what you wanted. you need to change. you can't stay here. it is not a character flaw you want more.

Last song I listened to: Mantras by Ellen Winter, on a recommendation from a friend. I like it!

Reading: Heaven Official's Blessing, another recommendation from a friend. And I am loving it! I'm only on the second novel but the characters are so fun

Fanfiction wise, I am reading Starboy's This War Is Ours. I'm getting my heart ripped open every chapter and am grateful for it. If you're a fan of Bakugou, krbk, and arranged marriages, I absolutely recommend!

Watching: Mostly ChilledChaos Among Us and Mario Party videos. I'm trying to rewatch MHA, get back into it before it ends.

I have a list of things I need to watch and no time to watch them :(((

Current Obession: I'm still neck deep in MHA. The Bakugou obession runs deep. I have also started playing Honkai: Star Rail and I can feel the hyperfixation take hold
