I built one of the Mysterious Lotus Casebook model scenes!

You may remember that I built the Lotus Tower model kit last year, and made some modifications to it:

(More about new additions to that model in another post!)

So it's probably no surprise that I also an addition of my own to this kit in the form of some tiny model lights. I love the idea that they could be fireflies accompanying Li Lianhua down the river or souls escorting him to reincarnation.

Progress pics below:

You may be able to guess from its size, that this model came together pretty quickly. Assembling the table together with both the boat and LLH was the trickiest bit:

I love all the small details, though, even if the curves were quite intimidating.

In order to wire it up with the tiny lights, I actually made very little irreversible changes to the model itself.

The base is a hollow space, as you can see bellow, so I used a hole that was intended to hold one of the lotuses to instead thread the lights up through the base to the scene. The lotus in question was meant to be positioned behind the boat, and so wouldn't actually be seen at all - perfect for hiding most of the wiring.

Then, in order to secure the battery pack to the back of the model, I cut off a small portion of one of the tabs that help fit the bottom piece in place. This effectively made a hole right at the bottom of the model for the wires to pass through. And that was all it took!

I stuck everything down with tape so it can be removed easily and without damage should I want to remove the lights at all, or make my messy wiring more respectable 😅

I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

Although you can see the wires around the boat when the lights are off, when the lights are on it pretty much achieves the floaty, ethereal effect I was going for:

So this isn’t the first time someone has requested for me to do the whole ‘outgrow something over a period of time’ thing. Certainly won’t be the last. It’s hot. I get it. I just haven’t really had anything great to outgrow…until now 😅

This is the shirt and pants to a suit I bought back in 2021. No, I do not have pics from me in 2021 wearing it (am sad). BUT. Even though it will cost me money, this fucking thing is doomed. As you can see. Starting November 25th, I will post an update.

I know. Exciting. A new white shirt for you guys to lose your shit over. This one will be a tougher challenge than the old one because it’s buttoned, it’s not too too far off from my actual fitting size and I would have to gain some serious weight to blow up out of it.

Fun fact though: I’ve gained 23 pounds since late June and am currently on a regimen that is causing me to gain weight steadily so let’s see how this goes. 1 year. This November 25th to November 25th 2024.

Finally back ish!!

I’m back from seeing my friends! It was really wonderful, I had so much fun with them 💕

After getting back things have been busy. I worked my longest shift so far (24 hours - 12 scheduled and 12 where I was on call but worked every hour), then I got sick.

I wanted to get straight back to game development stuff last month, but my laptop is finally starting to die 😅 so it’s time for me to get a new PC!

I’d like to build my own. I’ve never done it before so it’ll take a minute for me to figure everything out! I’ll be building a cute mechanical keyboard to go with it, too. I also bought a new desk with more space, so it’ll take a while for everything to arrive and me to finish my new setup.

While waiting for that I’ve done more writing though! I’m really happy with how the next part of Nalis’s route is going :)

The next update is going to require a lot of new backgrounds 😔 the arcade, a superstore, and 3 point-and-click areas (Nalis’s room, Thaumo’s room, and the lab). BGs are my least favorite things to draw but I’ll do my best!! I’ve been collecting good reference pics while waiting for my PC parts to arrive too.

I’ve changed some parts of the original demo too. I fixed some grammar issues, improved parts of the code now that I’m more familiar with how Ren’Py works, added a new Nalis CG for Nalis’s ending, and added the option to choose your MC’s aquatic animal + profile pic (when texting).

Because the code is different people will need to delete the old version before starting this one. I’ll include a tutorial when I release the next update.

My plan is still for 2 more big updates: the one I’m working on now (with the lab, arcade, and scenes in Nalis & Thaumo’s apartments), then the endings update.

Naruto Deco CC Collection (DL below)

Only the decals are base game compatible, found with the rest of the naruto wall decals. The light and curtains require SE pack. The curtains ALSO require this @channel4sims mesh (called curtain 1), which you can also find in requirements section. I needed at least five squares to spell 4 "Ramen" katakanas and the Ichiraku kanji, so I used their addon 6 square curtain, for the last square i just put different ramen pictures.

🍥Noren Curtains Sets (requires SE)

Get plain coloured curtains with no symbols in the Addon section. I don't remember the price but I left it the same as the snowy escape ones.😅💜There is a large four square and a small two square curtain of everything.

🍥Misc Naruto Symbols

In order: Naruto bijuu seal, Naruto 6 paths sage mode, Sakura's crest (uchiha ones are with uzumaki package), ANBU, Land of Fire, Akatsuki, Gaara's love tattoo, Sage of 6 paths, sealed orochimaru curse mark. 🍥Konoha Clan Symbols

Uzumaki + Uchiha (including police force symbol and the blue and white ones above 🍥Ino-Shika-Cho / Nara-Akimichi-Yamanaka clan symbols. There were 2 for Akimichi 🍥Sarutobi Clan, Senju Clan 🍥Hyuuga Clan Symbols 🍥Inuzuka (Kiba) I don't know if this is actually the clan symbol 🍥Aburame Clan

Again I found so many that I just made them all, I don't remember the lore about the main or branch family and found many symbols online. I think the one with all the circles is their earth clan symbol and the moon and sun (2 versions) are the two branches)

All resizable, only minor issue is if they are thin black lines or sized down too much then when you zoom out they disappear a bit. They cost 0 simoleons and can be found in wall deco category. 🍥FILES INFO: Uchiha curtain symbols are with uzumaki clan symbols in separate package not in the misc or clan ones, the curtains had too many swatches so I divided them up; Otsutsuki also separate package; the names of the files are self explanatory if you wish to pick and choose, if you want the entire collection there is a merged file with everything, don't forget the mesh, don't install merged with anything else or you'll get duplicates) 🍥REQUIREMENTS ❗❗❗ Decals require nothing. All Noren Curtains require Snowy Escape. Ichiraku Set also requires SE, but apart from that requires this MESH by @channel4sims-cc (I mentioned above but forgot here, it is in the set called curtain 1)

🍥ABOUT THE SYMBOLS/DESIGNS: I included: misc symbols (Akatsuki, Gaara's love tattoo, ANBU, orochimaru curse mark with and without seal, Naruto's bijuu seal, all main konoha clan symbols (Sarutobi, Senju, Nara, Yamanaka, Akimichi, Aburame, Hyuuga, Inuzuka, Haruno, Uzumaki, Uchiha), Land of Fire symbol, the main hidden villages (Konoha/Leaf, Kumo/Cloud, Kiri/Mist, Oto/Sound, Suna/Sand, Ame/Rain, Iwa/Stone), Otsutsuki and 6 paths symbols. In cases where there was more than one online or I wasn't sure which was the main symbol I just made various different ones, sorry if I got anything wrong, all images were found online. I tried to use colours that matched the colour schemes used in the anime for characters clans and villages. (Also didn't mention but the curtains further to the top are only brighter because of the lighting, they are all the same though, sorry I suck at the photos)

New Marshall Pics - Season 11, Ep. 03

A new episode aired in Canada today, and... oh, it's the new animation style! It's here at last! I'm quite happy to share some new pics of Marshall with his updated visuals! :)

The first segment - "Pups Plus a Plucky Chicken".

Of all the ways to start the series with its updated visuals, they went with... a Chickaletta dream episode. That... wouldn't have been my first choice. Or my second. Or my third. Sadly, it's another where the pups are barely present during the before-the-mission parts, and some of them didn't even talk. I never like it when that happens. On the bright side (for me), Marshall was called in as backup to help at one point, so I was certainly glad to see that. He... certainly made plenty of puns though, but then again, the other characters throughout the episode did, too. It was all... quite punny.

And the second segment - "Pups Save a Pet Show".

This one was pretty meh, too. Not a great start for the show with its new visuals. Sadly, I've not much to say about this one. Being my second-favorite, I'm glad Chase was called in so I could see him in action, too. Both segments called in Rubble, which I hope doesn't become the norm (dude already has his spinoff, we don't need to see him a lot here, too). Skye was called in as backup. If you're a fan of Rocky and/or Zuma... you'll have to wait a bit longer to see them in action (sadly, neither talked much, either).

That's all for now. Again, not a great start by any means, but I didn't think either one was terrible or anything. The new animation style looks nice, but while getting some screenshots, I thought some scenes certainly looked a little... rough. It'll no doubt improve in time, but for now, I think it looks fine. If you're skeptical of the new visuals, I can't say if what we seen today will win you over, but maybe later on.

I... hope the next episode turns out better than this. 😅

They keep saving my life ✨

Dear friends, I've been missing today because I've been trying to recover from last night's experience! I went to watch my favorite band live again and I'm not exaggerating when I say they saved my life once more 🥹 It's just what I needed to feel entirely good again! My beloved Estopa never fail to make me feel better, them and the Mario Brothers are literally keeping me ALIVE these last years and I'm seriously so blessed 😭

I'm not gonna repeat everything I said here as the repertory was essentially the same, but I do want to add a video and some pics, and also a VERY silly conversation they had (as well as something related to my writing). So keep reading if you're curious, and it's totally fine if you're not! 🥰

THE FOREHEAD TOUCH AT THE END. THE WAY THE CROWD STARTS SCREAMING WHEN THEY DO IT. People do LOVE seeing them doing it, me included of course, and I can only melt and CRY 😭 (Yes, you can hear me singing and screaming, I recorded this video myself, so surprise! Voice reveal 😂)

THEIR FACES. THEIR FOREHEADS. I CAN'T. These brothers are gonna be the DEATH of me I swear 😭😭😭

The fact that they're REAL. I just can't get over it. Mario and Luigi have a WONDERFUL bond and you all know I love them wholeheartedly, but the fact that Estopa are the real, actual personification of brotherly love? In our world?? Them having so much fun together and always showing how much they LOVE each other in every single concert???

Excuse me if I CRY but they're too PRECIOUS.

I just can't have enough of them. As you all know, they inspired me to write my musicians post, and also two of my WIPs that revolve around different things (the brothers on stage and Luaisy smut). They inspire me. They've been doing so ever since I became a fan of them, which, btw, happened exactly 18 years ago today! Man, I'm old 🥲

And the thing is... If you've been following me lately, you know I've been going through some hard times and I've been feeling down for a long time. So much so that I was unable to read... nor write. I'm still in the process of getting over my reader's block...

... but my writer's one might be coming to an end at last.

It's too soon to speak yet, but Estopa's music does inspire me, as well as their brotherly dynamic and their chemistry on stage. And yesterday, a few things happened that only gave me more and more ideas for that future story I wanna write with Mario and Luigi being musicians and performing together.

First of all, a very silly conversation:

"I am your brother." "Yes, me too." "... No." "Yes, I am your brother." "I am your brother, but you're my brother. I'm not my brother." "Of course, because I am your brother. You're my brother." "No, I'm not my brother, I'm your brother!"

I swear, me and my friend were just cracking up at the stupidest conversation EVER 😂 You can't tell me this isn't Mario and Luigi 🤭😂

Unfortunately... there were a couple of times where David almost fell off the stage 😅 The first time, I didn't even notice because I was further back, but I was a bit confused that he was standing still at one end of the stage when he's usually running and dancing here and there while singing.

And then... I saw this. Unfortunately it's an Instagram story which means it'll be gone at some point, but even though I've tried, Tumblr just wouldn't let me add a second video to this post 🤦‍♀️ So I just hope you can get to see it before it's gone, but it's basically poor David tripping and being about to fall off the stage 🥲

Poor man, I swear I feel SO BAD for him 😭😭😭 All I wanna do is run and help him through the screen! Thank God he handled it and didn't hurt himself but I swear I SCREAMED when I saw this 🥺

On a brighter note though... the second time was hilarious and he didn't hurt himself 🤭 To give you some context, it turns out there was a famous artist among the crowd watching the concert. His name is Dani Martín and he's friends with Estopa. They actually sang one of Estopa's songs together a while back, and when they started playing it last night, David suddenly noticed his friend...

... And he jumped off the stage to go sing with him! 😂😂😂

The moment his butt literally kisses the ground, I'm so DEAD I swear 😂😂😂 You just CAN'T convince me Mario wouldn't do something like this if he spotted, I don't know, Geno, maybe? 🤭

They're so friendly I swear! This was such a big surprise, and my friend was elated because she's also a big fan of Dani Martín! So it was really so great they did something like this 🥹 David jumping to bring him on stage and Jose ceding him his mic, they're just so nice and pure 😭

Anyways, as I said, the rest was very similar to the concert in Sevilla I attended back in June (only that this time I was WAY closer and I couldn't believe it 🤩), so I'll just add that I've been sharing some videos of the concert on my Instagram stories, and I'll probably share a few more tomorrow as I recorded a lot 🤭

Also, my friend sent me the videos she recorded and her phone has such a higher quality than mine! So yeah, those are coming to my insta stories tomorrow too 😂 Just in case you'd like to see said videos, here's my Instagram account! 1-year anniversary post and future projects

My blog turned 1-year old today! 😃 (I also have a new blog banner and profile pic for the occasion!) I was lowkey hoping I'd hit the 1,000 follower milestone before then, but I got close - about 890 followers as of now! I'm very humbled that so many people enjoy my SxF content ❤️ Thank you all so much for your Likes, Reblogs, and kind messages~ Even though I wish I had joined the SxF fandom sooner, better late than never! The series has been around for about four years now, which is still a relatively short time for a popular shonen manga. So I'm hoping there will be plenty more SxF content to indulge in for years to come!

As you've probably seen, I've been reblogging my Twiyor analysis posts as a build-up to my continuation of that project for season 2 of the anime. And I'm happy to report that my planned start date for new analysis posts will be Tuesday, December 12th! On that day I'll post the new installment, Part 19, with a new post each Tuesday after until I finish covering the season 2 episodes. I know it seems like I'm dragging it out, but it takes a long time for me to not only write each post, but to revise and proofread them as well...the more chances I get to proofread my posts over time, the better they turn out. I also want to make sure I don't get too far ahead of the current episodes (since I still want to make the posts manga-spoiler free as much as possible). Since season 2 is only going to be 12 episodes, there won't be as many posts as last time, but the topics are just as compelling! I've been so excited to finally delve into analyzing the cruise arc 😄

I should also mention that late December/early January are going to be very busy times for the fandom: there's the movie release, the game release, the season finale, another art book that I'll want to scan, and the light novel being released in English! Of course I'll be making posts covering all of this, as well as my usual merch and chapter/episode review posts. I'm also planning to do some kind of post mini-series for the game where I write about my experiences with it in a daily journal kind of format. We'll see...there's going to be so much to cover at the end of the year, I hope I won't get overwhelmed 😅

Anyway, thank you all again for a wonderful year of SxF goodness~ Here's to many more years of joy from our beloved fake family!

Since many people comment on how quietly I puke, I'll tell you a story from my youth.

I haven't always been this quiet.

It was my last year of summer camp and tmi: I really have a sweet tooth. Especially for chocolate. We had that late evening sitting around the campfire, telling spooky stories and eating s'mores. I got far too invested in the stories and just kept eating s'mores, not paying any attention to how much I had already eaten. The crackers and chocolate weren't so bad. Sure, they made my stomach feel a little sore but it were the marshmallows that really did me in. They were overly sweet and sticky to the point of making me feel sick, so I tried to wash them down with a drink but we only had different types of soda. The carbonation and the sticky marshmallows were the worst possible combo I could've had in my stomach. Spent most of the night after everyone had gone to their tents to sleep bent over some bushes throwing it all back up and since we were all sleeping in tents, everyone heard everything. At some point, someone yelled to be quiet because they wanted to sleep and that it was disgusting.

Trying to Deescalate

These two have been occupying my brain for the last few days and I HAD to do something for my other favorite ship. This is a super silly idea I had while at work (which SUCKED today), and I had to doodle it. Apparently, this isn't the first time their order was wrong. Nor is it the first time Walden has to keep Widget from actually using her hammer on someone, as evidenced by his face 😅

The inspiration for Widget came from that Extreme Home Makeover episode where Widget straight up whips out a hammer while she and her friends are arguing.

I'd say Walden has every reason to be scared.

I do have one more pic in mind with them, though, which I hope to start soon ☺️

I want to say a few things ☺️

I saw a post about two weeks ago how tumblr is dead on weekends, op said that we should stop clubbing 😅 I don't know if it was a joke or not, but it got me thinking. I am really less active here on weekends and holidays. But not because I go out, it's because my family is home (no work, no school), so I spend more time with them and less time with my PC.

I also wanted to thank everyone who interacts with my posts, I appreciate every like, comment or reblog 💜 🥰 I always try to answer all comments (I'm not as good with my inbox though, sorry), but sometimes I may miss a comment. I also usually don't know what to say, so I use a lot of emojis 🙈

And thank you for sending me all kinds of asks, I plan on answering some of them, but I am very slow (in the end of last year I wanted to participate in posting 23 pics of the year or whatever it was called, but spend so much time picking screenshots that it was too late to post (and I didn't even pick all 23 screens) 😭).
