the scene where raven and wick are wounded and can't even stand, and raven starts talking and wick is all "don't even say it, I'm not going anywhere without you" and raven replies "what I was gonna say is- please don't leave me" is good and all from the perspective of a raven fan but ugggggh at wick being there. actor aside, wick is a nothing character. there would've been many better options to show raven's desperate desire to live. there will be many better options (I can't wait for praimfaya).

Season 2 Rewatch Drabbles--2x15 The Queen is Dead

Summary:  A series of 100-500 word drabbles to accompany my   rewatch of season 2 of Once Upon a Time as an attempt to finally jump   start the muse again.  There will be a drabble–either a deleted scene, a   “fix it” fic or a character musing for each episode of the season.    Focus will be on Emma, Henry, the Charmings and Killian–with an   emphasis on the very beginnings of Captain Swan’s epic love story, as   soon as a certain dashing pirate makes his appearance.

Snow looked down at Johanna's crumpled body, lying dead on the pavement and for a moment she couldn't breathe.  The pain, the horror was so overwhelming she was sure it would consume her.

And then she broke.  Wracking sobs convulsing her body.  If it hadn't been for her husband's strong arms and gentle comfort holding her up, she would have fallen to the ground right there.

All her life, she'd tried to be a hero, someone who always chose to do the right thing, even when it was difficult, but what had choosing the good ever done for her? She'd lost everything, everything at Regina and Cora's hands--her parents, her daughter, her husband, her nursemaid, even her very identity for 28 years.

As Snow clung to Charming, soaking his shirt with her grief, she thought back to that moment so many years ago when she’d had the chance to save her mother.  She’d loved her so much, and the thought of losing her had been an ache so strong she felt it to the very depths of her being, and then Blue had thrown her a lifeline; a chance to save her life.

The temptation had been nearly more than she could bear, and for a few moments, she’d contemplated going through with it.  After all, her mother had been a wonderful queen, a wonderful mother, and a wonderful human being.  The world had been a better and brighter place with her in it.  Would it really be so bad to trade the life of a villain for hers?

But she’d known exactly how her mother would have answered that question.  No.  She wouldn’t have wanted her life saved at the expense of blackening her daughter’s heart.

There’d been some comfort, even amid the crushing grief, in knowing that she’d done the right thing, knowing that she’d made her mother proud.

But now, all these years later, Snow couldn’t help but wonder what use goodness and heroism were.  Evil always triumphed, because evil was willing to do whatever it took to achieve its objectives.  Cora and Regina stood taller and stronger than ever, while everyone she loved was being destroyed.

No more.

She’d be damned before she let Cora take one more person she loved.  It didn’t matter what she had to do or how much she had to blacken her heart.  Her reign of terror was at an end.

It was time she track down and kill a witch.

I 100% agree that Donna is overhated by a lot of fans (and misunderstood)— and that much of those same fans also make her out to be this bad friend to Jackie unfairly (and ignore or downplay Jackie frequently without provocation insulting Donna) BUUUUT I also don’t think it’s fair to completely dismiss Donna not telling Jackie about Kelso’s cheating for months. Jackie disregarding a (comparatively) vague “I don’t think Kelso’s good for you” type of statement doesn’t necessarily mean she’d dismiss “Hey I saw Kelso cheat on you with Laurie, and found out from Eric it’s been going on for months” stated. Maybe Jackie would have believed her, and maybe not. But Donna not telling her (and again, saying “i don’t think a good boyfriend” is not equal to “I know he’s cheating on you”) WAS a legitimately shitty thing to do. -S

This ask is in response to this post I made.

I agree with you that Donna should have told Jackie -- along with Eric, Hyde, and Fez. I don't think the responsibility falls solely on her shoulders despite that she's Jackie's best friend in the group. Hyde's the first one who knows Kelso cheated. Then Eric and Fez learn because Kelso tells them in the circle. Donna is the last to find out (before Jackie, that is).

Together, the four of them might have been able to convince Jackie of the truth. Alone, Jackie could easily dismiss the claims any one of those four might make because of motivated reasoning -- which Jackie is shown to make decisions from in "Burning Down the House" (2x15) and in her pursuit of Hyde during their late S2-early S3 arc.

Hyde, Eric, and Fez have as much responsibility as Donna to tell Jackie the truth. At this point in the series, they're all compassionate people who have a moral code that goes beyond whether someone's personality irritates them.

Hyde, though, plays three sides in this arc: 1) setting traps so Kelso will incriminate himself so that 2a) Jackie can dump Kelso for her own good and 2b) Hyde isn't technically a "rat" and being disloyal to his friend, and 3a) is entertained by Kelso's squirmy suffering because 3b) it's a punishment Hyde feels Kelso deserves plus that's simply Hyde's dynamic with Kelso.

Fez has romantic feelings for Jackie and cares about her. If even for selfishly- reasons, he might expose the truth. But if he truly cares about Jackie, he would tell her because it's the right thing to do without any expectation of (romantic/sexual) reward.

Eric is a generally compassionate person. As we see in "The Pill" (1x17) and "Jackie's Cheese Squeeze" (4x19), he might not like Jackie personally, but he helps her (however reluctantly at first) when he sees she's in dire straights and asks for his support. The reason for his silence about Kelso's cheating stems from either cowardice, laziness, indifference to Jackie, or a loyalty to Kelso that overpowers his moral compass.

Donna is scared to hurt her friend by being the bearer of bad news. But her fear isn't totally selfless. A measure of cowardice motivates her stay silent because she anticipates exactly what happens in "Burning Down the House" except worse. In that episode, Jackie's motivated reasoning makes her accuse truth-telling Donna of being jealous of her (Jackie) and Kelso's love.

Donna knows Jackie well. But, I believe, the best kind of friends are willing to put the friendship on the line to protect the other person. The friend's well-being and safety are more important than the friendship. The risk of Jackie's anger falling onto Donna by Donna telling Jackie the truth is a real one, and it's a risk Donna should've been willing to make. That she isn't willing in "Vanstock" (2x06) and afterward tells us about her character at that point in her life -- but it's also a common choice even good friends make -- at any age.

Donna is seventeen, a teenager. Not an adult with years of experience in this area. Her fear is understandable. This doesn't excuse her decision, but it does explain it. And Eric, Hyde, and Fez aren't willing to risk Jackie's ire either.

Donna gets an inordinate amount of heat for her actions. She's often judged more harshly for her choices than other characters on That '70s Show who make similar or identical ones. I have compassion for her in the situation she's put in by learning the truth about Kelso's cheating. It's not an easy one, and in real life -- as a teenager, in particular -- many genuinely good people might make the same choice as her or take Hyde's route.

Most things in life aren't black and white. They're shades of gray and full of nuance. The position Donna finds herself in is on that spectrum. She's a person, too, with the complex, conflicting feelings humans have. She does her best to support Jackie in this situation in a way that feels safe for her to do so.

Hyde is similar, supporting Jackie by trying to help her catch onto Kelso's cheating herself.

Eric and Fez, meanwhile, do nothing to support Jackie until she spots Kelso kissing Laurie -- and then only Eric (briefly) offers true support. Fez tries to use the development for his romantic advantage.

Again, I'm not excusing Donna's choice. But I understand it, and viewing it in isolation from Hyde, Eric, and Fez's choices unfairly puts the burden of full responsibility on her head and absolves them of theirs.

Top 5 HotchRied moments

ahajsjsjk- evil. pure evil! 🤣 however, it gave me an excuse to spend my morning rewatching some of the best hotchreid scenes so maybe i should thank you instead 🥰

okay, these are in no particular order and i apologise in advance for the incoherent ramblings you're about to read....

literally all of l.d.s.k. okay this is basically the hotchreid episode on my eyes. if i were to pick a scene though it 100% has to be the ambulance scene. you've got all the soft smiles, the fond laughs, hotch reaching out to touch reid like he always seems to want to do! not to mention the fact that hotch lets reid keep his gun despite admitting just how awful his aim is. smitten. he's so damn smitten.

what i have dubbed as 'the nightmare scene' from 1x10. this scene is so dear to me. it's about hotch not being to wait until after the case to comfort reid like gideon does, it's hotch seeing reid yawn and immediately needing to be there for him. it's about the intimacy of this small scene, the lack of personal space, the hushed voices. the "if you wanna talk about it, you know where i am" + hotch yet again gently touching reid.

that damn freaking hug in 2x15! or, no, okay that is a huge moment obviously because there's the softness to hotch's voice and the way he holds reid like he's afraid he'll shatter right in front of him only for reid to cling to hotch like his entire life depends on it. but i think the whole "i choose aaron hotchner" scene actually tops this one. because it's about the huge implication that hotch is closest to reid out of the whole bau team. how reid is putting all of his trust, his whole life, into hotch's hands purely because he knows that hotch will remember some random conversation they had a while back. it's how hotch doesn't blink an eye, doesn't for one second take what reid says about him to heart (unlike the rest of the team) because he already knows exactly what reid thinks about him.

the fist bump scene from 10x11!! i haven't even watched this episode yet but i've seen this scene so many times. hotch glaring at kate when she questions reid, only for his expression to soften the moment he turns back to reid. the proud smirk on hotch's face when reid proves them wrong. the whispered "psst" and the adorableness of that whole moment, reid not even hesitating as he fist bumps hotch, barely even looking up, as if this is a thing they do all the time and hotch isn't totally acting unusually fond or playful at all (which just goes to show that this is how hotch acts when they're off the job and you know i'm a sucker for chaotic hotch).

the physics magic scene is 2x12!!! okay i could ramble about this scene forever. hotch immediately recognising what reid is doing as "physics magic" even though the girls were laughing about reid calling it magic. he just knows what it is. the implication of there being a past conversation/incident about reid doing these little experiments and yet the girls have never seen it before, which means hotch saw it outside of work. not only that but also the fact that hotch has seen reid's physics magic experiment more than once because of his comment "although, you're starting to get some distance on those" + their matching grins, especially hotch's huge hidden one! not to mention how reid responds with "sometimes" when emily notes that hotch does actually have a sense of humour. love reid just understanding hotch in ways that the others don't.

this got waaay out of hand, i'm so so sorry 🤣 give me a chance to talk about hotchreid and i will go overboard!

I know hindsight (not my knowledge regarding protagonist armour due to audience priviledge xD) plays a part on this, but I still feel that discount anya's decision in 2x15 was a bad move. the plan the grounders and arkadians had was not a hail mary, a desperate last ditch (or at least, it was not presented as such). they HAD a very real chance to succeed, even if some deaths on their side would've been inevitable. by accepting mount weather's truce they do save each life on their side, but whatever the outcome of arkadians versus mountain men is, it would've been a problem for future lexa & co one way or another. just like it ended up being in season 3, actually. the fact that she's meant to have an artificial intelligence making calculations inside her brain makes it all the more egregius that she supposedly didn't calculate all of these outcomes.
