Summary: Dean lives in a house with a white picket fence and has a day job as a mechanic. He’s out of hunting and, he finally gets to settle down with Cas.  Suddenly, he comes to the violent realization that none of this is real— it’s all a dream, manufactured by a djinn. He gets out and reality comes crashing down on him— he’s still in the life, he’s not in a relationship with Cas. And there’s his problem: how does he lose something he never had? Now, he’s trying to navigate his non-romantic relationship with Cas, which is more strained than it’s been in a long time. It’s hard enough on its own, even without Sam and Jack insisting that Cas is in love with him too, and that they could have been in the same djinn dream.  Dean does what Winchesters do best: throwing himself into the job and not talking. But that doesn’t keep the lines between him and Cas from blurring. They blur and they blur and they blur and they blur, and who’s to say what’s really real?
