Wow. The last time Nap Eyes (Nova Scotia, Canada) had their own post was 2018. Since then, they've garnered mentions in posts for Jon Mckiel, Olden Yolk, and Bingo Trappers.

Now, finally, Nap Eyes have emerged from a prolonged hibernation to deliver "The Neon Gate". First, I didn't realize Brad Loughead had previously been a member of Each Other. Makes sense.

Nigel Chapman's vocals have always set Nap Eyes apart from other bands mining a similar sound. So, if you took out Chapman's vocals the pace and sound of the music might recall Stephen Malkmus, Pop Filter/Ocean Party, Twerps, Ultimate Painting...this list could go on and on.

Paradise of Bachelors is handling this release - they have had a hand in each and every Nap Eyes release.

On god so far the european trains ive been on have been underwhelming. Genuinely not superior to the long distance amtrak experience. The obb is up to 3x more expensive than flying, the deutchebahn is always late and in worse condition than amtrak, and the snelltaget is way less comfortable and we are stopped for 45 minutes at 3am for no apparent reason except that the danish need to be difficult. And then left malmo an hour late. There are practically no high speed trains and a sleeper bed is the price of a months rent. At least amtrak is an honest experience like you know what youre gonna get, and the coach seats are large and comfortable and the seats kick up like a lazyboy. This interrail bs is really overrated, i have been fooled.

My overall impression of europe is that it is undeserving of its reputation in every way except for the racism. That part is worse than they say by far.

I was checking out the prices of post secondary school (uni and college) in italy and damnnn it's so much more affordable

PLEASE everything here is so expensive. A meal at a chain restaurant is almost 25 dollars with tax (not including drinks or anything else, just the one plate). Schooling is really expensive here, and if the place I checked was right rent here is SO much more than there. Like a 1 bedroom apartment in a not-garbage place is about 1800$ a month.

ANYWAYS I long for your economy, everything has 15% tax here and everything is so expensive . If I qualified for an italian post secondary school it would be cheaper to fly over and take classes there than it would to go to the university near me. I'd save almost 50% a year (depending on the school).

(light hearted, please don't feel guilty alerkgm you don't control the economy. But ig heads up if you wanna move somewhere and feel rich come to canada)

Yeah one thing i have to recognize to italy is that uni is really affordable, how much you pay for tuition is directly correlated to your family's economic situation and if you're under a certain threshold (like me :')) you have free tuition. This also applies to international students.

I've just checked and for bigger cities (ie Milan) the rent for one bedrooms are a bit lower (1200/1400) but still crazy expensive considering the average salary. Also crazy considering we rented our old 3 bedroom apartment for ~500€, which was also in a good neighborhood imo the downside for the low rent is living in this godforsaken city.

Depending on your isee you could also get completely free tuition! But yeah i agree it would be cheaper
