Monday 9th December: Akuemon (1993)- Kuzunoha returns and Rizu leaves Akuemon's family.

Tuesday 10th December: The gakuen choujo-tai (1991)- Mai fights a stronger Rika.

Wednesday 11th December: Kiss wa me ni shite (1993)- Ibuki confesses her love for Naoto over a highway overpass and Naoto promises to return from Canada.

Thursday 12th December: Harmonie (2004)- Akio falls asleep listening to Juri's recording.

Friday 13th December: Kasho no tsuki (1998-1999)- Kagetsu remembers his first meeting with Arimasa.

Saturday 14th December: Sequence (1992)- Toshiaki and Megumi go out together.

Sunday 15th December: Take the X train (1987)- Toru is challenged by the X train.

I watched Fire Tripper along with the other two "Rumik World" OVAs a couple of weeks ago. Personally felt Maris the Choujo was the weak link but Fire Tripper and Laughing Target were both really good. Fire Tripper has a unique concept whose resolution genuinely caught me by surprise and Laughing Target was probably the most scared I've felt for fictional characters in a long time, genuinely couldn't tell if they would make it out alive.

I like all three! They definitely highlight Takahashi’s strong points: action (with a dash of romance), comedy and horror. I was obsessed with Fire Tripper as a kid (Suzuko actually inspired my love of the classic sailor uniform lol) but if I were going to rank them now, it’d probably be at the bottom with Maris in the middle and Laughing Target on top. There are some scenes from that OVA I’ll never forget.

Full title translates as something like "Wrestling Universe: Fire Pro Women: Dome Super Female Big Battle: All Japan Women VS J.W.P."

It's a Fire Pro Wrestling series all-female professional wrestler spin-off game developed by HuneX, which was a joint venture between Human Entertainment, original developer/publisher of the Fire Pro Wrestling games, and NEC, who made the PC Engine hardware.

Here are my thoughts on the opening cinematic and the new info:

Yuki...isn’t in the line up of characters? I was thinking that they just forgot to introduce her, but now that we’re seeing the actual game footage (presumably... *side-eyes Kodaka*) and she isn’t mentioned at all, it makes me think that she might have some Zetsubou Choujo energy going on here...

I love the exposition scene being told through the bus movie format--the graphics evoke such a strong late 90s game aesthetic in me and that “video 2″ input in the corner gives me more nostalgia than I’d like to admit

the graphics for the main game are interesting; think they’ll take a little getting used to, and some of the animations are a bit stiff, but I like the environments a lot and the characters really pop against them

going on school trip (ensoku, most likely) to Kamakura? you know what this means...KANAGAWA PRIDE, Y’ALL! (Also Kamakura is right next to and closely tied to...yes, you guessed it, Enoshima.)

the ambient music once the kids are in the underwater facility is a bit too on the nose, i.e., it sounds exactly like some of the BGM in DanRon

the music later on is much better and more unique

one of your first missions is to “escape the ganbare class members” eh? Hmmm.

don’t think I didn’t notice that for most of the gameplay clips, it’s Reicho with Pochi and Jennu, i.e., Naegi/Komaeda and Junko(/Mukuro)

was hoping for a release date, but I guess we’ll have to hold off a bit, huh (DanRon does have a 10 year birthday coming up soon)

I’m a hell of a lot more excited for the game now that I have more of an idea of what I’m getting (the vibe is very Kodaka, the number stuff and puzzles scream Uchikoshi).

Peeps have sent me some really interesting DMCl-related asks recently so I’m going to try to crack a few of those open this weekend so we can have some fun discussion.

Oh, sweets, I’ll name few, yet I’m not sure which you’d prefer  :D

barakamon - like one of the main light-hearted animation i’d like to watch

lovely complex - one of the best shoujo imo, animation makes you smile, characters make you smile and seiyuu did a great job

slayers - adventures, fantasy, old-school humor

tokyo godfathers - not like an overly humorous thing, it has enough drama, but it has a nice feeling of some american family movie

maris the choujo - it’s from takahashi rumiko, so you can expect some old-school humor here too

nichijou - just ‘coz XD

space dandy - well, it’s specific since it’s a space adventure, parody type of thing, but i still like it for the light watch

stink bomb (part of ‘memories’ it’s a three-part installment from famous directors, stink bomb is second from it) - i simply think it’s witty
