A wrinkled 80-year-old grey-haired Chris Gethard looks like an old man after 3 hours each day of makeup

There is many different free GUI’s as alternatives to DALL-E and Midjourney, where all that is needed is an NVIDIA GPU.  The above images were made with GRISK and some with Windows GUI, both perfectly made for first time users who just want to check out what this AI art stuff is about.   There also seems to be a beta web option called Dream Studio by StabilityAI.

Okay Smoshblr here is my unhinged wish.

I know that the joke Ian and Anthony make is that they've never seen each other's dicks and the joke is that if they reach x views or x subscribers they'll do it.

HOWEVER. I am shamelessly stealing an idea from the cable access show, The Chris Gethard Show. I don't quite recall how they determined the idea for this episode, but they did an episode 10+ years ago called "Lookin' at Dicks for an Hour", in which one of their audience members created a massive skirt with an elastic waist and they all got into the skirt and got naked from the waist down (see below):

Viewers could call in and ask questions like "who has the biggest dick?" or "who has the cutest butt?" and they could all look in the skirt at each other and give an answer. I think this exact method could be done for Smosh (would it just be Ian and Anthony inside the skirt? yes. Would I watch? yes. Do I think this method would be done with more than two people in the skirt? Yes. Do I encourage that? Can't lie, also yes) Anyways, the full video is here (keep in mind that this was a public access show with a cult following, so there's a lot of weird recurring bits. One man is named the Human Fish and just answers questions in x vs y format. That's his whole thing.)

This guy, Joe Pera, kinda helped me make it through the pandemic semi-sane. I discovered his show, Joe Pera Talks With You, had started up with Adult Swim after I joined a streaming service that will not be named because screw them right after shutdown had started. I was(mostly) alone, in a city filled with other alone people, over a thousand miles from where I grew up. It was honestly the first time I had well and truly missed the midwest since I'd left 6 years before. His show basically was midwest incarnate, and it was exactly what I needed.

(Note: It also has multiple people, Pera included, who were part of The Chris Gethard Show, which is still one of my all time favorite things. It's just SO different in tone, be prepared. To the Chat Ratz out there, though, you rule, keep it Calsteady.)

That and it was a show that played the antithesis to the expected output of Adult Swim. Instead of more brash and lightning quick, it was quieter, pensive, but still giving you a laugh. Covered everything from Iron, to The Rat Wars of Alberta, Canada, to legacy, to bean arches, to building a chair. There's so much more that specifically those things going on throughout, but the stories never felt crowded, and everything felt lived in somehow.

That show got canceled right around the time WB was scooped up into whatever the hell it is now, and I was kinda sad about it but was glad I got that show. Found out he went out on tour but wasn't able to get a schedule with work that would let me go to the show so I had to miss out. So today, I got bonkers excited when he announced that he made a standup special out of material he worked on from that tour, and he's releasing it on October 6th on his youtube account. Seems like the same low key thing that I kinda loved from the show, but on a stage. Also, it looks like it's gonna be free from the way this trailer seems to talk, though I don't know if that's the case. If it's not free, I'm sorry, I'm just someone who found out about it and got excited.

So because of that, I decided that I'm gonna type WAAAAYYYY too much just to say watch this special when it comes out, it'll probably be great if it's like his other stuff. The vibes of the show and the style of comedy was exactly the kind of chill thing I needed, and maybe it's something someone else needs too.

Sleater-Kinney and Black Belt Eagle Scout at Brooklyn Steel

On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, rock band Sleater-Kinney kicked off their three shows in New York City with a first night at Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY. The group was joined by Black Belt Eagle Scout (a.k.a. Katherine Paul) for an opening set on their tour in support of their newest record, Little Rope.

This was my first time I captured Sleater-Kinney performing live since 2015*. My gallery of Sleater-Kinney was done for Bowery Presents’ “The House List,” and it now available here. Images of Black Belt Eagle Scout can be found below.

Sleater-Kinney will return to Brooklyn Steel again tonight (Thursday, March 14th) for a sold out show, and head to Manhattan to Racket on Saturday night (that show is sold out as well).

*I also photographed them in December 2014 during an appearance on “The Chris Gethard Show” where Priests performed.

I saw a photo of him in a flowery one and that long pink skirt from The Chris Gethard Show and would like more of that thank you, but google acts like it's never heard of such a thing ever. after the mcr tour it feels really strange – I want photos, google show me they have to exist somewhere.
