Eddie posts a Tiktok way too early in the morning for a weekend . His hair is frizzy. It’s somehow hot and wet. He’s being eaten alive by mosquitoes while sitting in a folding chair in a field.
When he pans the camera over a little more, you see Nancy sitting next to him in her own folding chair (her’s has cup holders). Eddie’s just like, “POV: when your same gendered spouse randomly joins a co-ed summer soccer league.”
And then him and Nancy wince at the same time because Steve and Robin somehow kicked each other instead of the ball.

funniest misunderstanding of a character has got to be how many people in the st fandom think of nancy as like. genuinely that high school's It Girl. she's It Girl in my heart <3 but like... IN the show? middling popularity at best i hate to say.

something something southern boy eddie being jealous of nancy and steve growing closer (even though there's nothing going on between them and it's all in eddie's head) and going to an open-mic night in country bar a couple of towns over to sing jolene.
that's it. that's all i got. i just want more eddie singing dolly parton songs and he'll be such a petty lil jealous bitch that jolene fits him perfectly. okay, hope you're having a lovely day friend!
oh my lord do NOT get me started on Dolly Parton loving steddie. I believe and will promote it!! Southern boy Eddie just feels right somehow, I love everything you said.
Now you are going to have to forgive me for all inaccuracies because I am not American but here's some thoughts.
Eddie thinking Steve and Nancy are getting closer, they've been spending more and more time together, heads bent close and talking in whispers. Every time he sees them it feels like a fist around his heart and windpipe a hot, uncomfortable thing that makes him want to turn on his heel but finds himself staring and hurting instead.
He deals with it the only way he knows how, through music and who better than miss Dolly? He spends nights in his room blaring out Jolene, and I will always love you. Sometimes he mixes it up, adds new artists in Willie Nelson with 'Always on my mind', patsy cline 'crazy' and whatever else he can torture himself with.
Wayne handles it as best he can before he's knocking on Eddie's door shouting to turn it down when the soundsytem starts to rattle the mugs on the shelf. He loves Eddie like a son but if he loses another mug to Tammy Wynette's laments he's going to start hiding his record collection from that boy.
Without an outlet for his heartbreak Eddie gets restless so one day after he sees Steve and Nancy whispering and smiling again he jumps in his van and drives, speakers turned up and when he stops he finds himself a couple of towns away outside a bar with some pretty interesting clientele that, while keeping a low profile, are clearly having a good time. He gets curious and Eddie has never been somebody to shy away from his own curiosity so he goes in and what he finds changes his life.
There is such an amazing mix of people, couples and non-couples and most of all, a complete lack of stares or judgement. He keeps looking around, a smile on his face grows when he sees the stage when the barman is at his elbow
'You here for the open mic night? You look the type anyway'
Eddie turns to face the man, certain that this is a place he is coming back to
'Not this time, but sign me up for the next one'
-------
It’s a few months down the line and Eddie is a regular, carved himself a spot on the stage in this evidently accepting and thriving gay bar.
He is gearing up to go out, ready to pour his heart out after seeing Steve pick Nancy up and spin her around, his whole mood souring and the overwhelming pain and sadness sitting low in his stomach. It had been manageable up until then, difficult sure, but manageable. So tonight is the night.
He walks up to the mic to familiar cheers and heckles; he always has such a varied set but never a bad word said about him. Eddie gets himself settled on the stool, acoustic guitar in hand and without giving himself a chance to look at the crowd he starts with the opening notes to Jolene and silence spreads across the audience. Eddie gives it everything, holding nothing back and the bar patrons join him in the chorus. He puts all his sadness into his performance, catharsis in its purest form. He aches and the audience aches with him, it finally feels good.
He looks up then and makes eye contact with the girl that has broken him. Nancy Wheeler stares at him across the bar, she stands in a gap in Eddie's eye line, somehow with nobody in front of her. Sad eyes seeing something in Eddie he never planned on sharing with her. He looks down immediately, not wanting to completely self-destruct in the middle of his set. But that's when he catches Nancy's hand, Nancy's occupied hand holding another hand. A distinctly non-masculine hand. He looks back up. Robin Buckley? Holding hands with Nancy Wheeler? Eddie has to park that thought, can’t let it into his mind when he has his set to finish but it finds a place to sit, to be addressed later, he's curious, not hopeful but definitely interested in this turn of events.
--------
He finishes his set to applause and takes an ostentatious bow, packs up his stuff and shuffles off to the bar, hoping to get a drink and think about what he saw. Eddie manages to get to the bar when Nancy intercepts him, Robin in tow. He should have known she wouldn't ignore him, not when Eddie has actually been in her house, made small talk during the summers when the school couldn't be used for Hellfire and Mike's house was the only available spot.
'Hi Eddie, I just wanted to say, WE both wanted to say, that was great. Really great. Right Robin?'
Robin swings forward, hand still attached to Nancy's and starts to talk, going over Eddie's playing, song choices and then the cover of Jolene. Both her and Nancy change their body language at that lean close, soften their eyes, seem to pick up on something Eddie was showing but not telling.
The thing is, Eddie knew about Robin, they'd had talks in the band room cupboard, tentative at the start but then more open as time went on. They had a trust between each other that neither took lightly. And because of that, Eddie felt protective of Robin, doesn't want to see her hurt when she has clearly opened herself up to somebody new.
Just then Robin shoots off, says something about the bathroom which leaves Eddie and Nancy together. Eddie doesn't really know what to do with himself, doesn't want to talk to the girl that is responsible for his heartache but also doesn't want to let the opportunity to protect his friend go. So he doesn't think, just throws himself in at the deep end and hopes for the best
'You know Ms Wheeler, never thought I'd see you in the kind of place. Taking a walk on the wild side before returning to your castle?' It's not nice but it’s not overly hostile, he hopes
'Yeah, well Robin wanted to come and I thought it might be fun. Let her show me the ropes a bit'
Eddie raises an eyebrow at this
'Wouldn't it be better to come here with your boyfriend? Does he even know you are here or you just here to get some kick from Buckley where nobody can see you? Go back to you 'normal' life in the morning?'
To her credit, Nancy doesn't get angry, raises her head to look Eddie directly in the eye and begins to speak but is interrupted by Robin making a reappearance next to Nancy and then, much to Eddie's horror, a voice comes from behind him
'Ah the love bird reunited at last, don't know how you survived without breathing the same air quite honestly'
'Oh, shut up dingus, I know for a fact that you are disgustingly co-dependent so don't even start'
And that's when Steve fucking Harrington comes up to Eddie's side, places an arm on his bicep and squeezes
'Hey man, you were amazing. That Dolly cover? Goosebumps dude! I'd love to hear more if you know any of her others?'
Steve is leaning in close to Eddie, he is smiling at Eddie, he has his hand ON Eddie's arm. Eddie...may have misinterpreted some things.
-----------
It's another few months down the line and Eddie is about to step on stage at his familiar open mic night. He walks up on stage, electric guitar this time, plugs it in and tunes up, not giving the crowd any attention. Then, when he feels ready, his eyes are up and he finds the familiar pair in the crowd. Steve.
Turns out the time he and Nancy had been spending together was to plan romancing Robin and the spinning? That was when Nancy had finally secured a date. He feels silly for it now but hey, worked out in the end, right?
Eddie smiles wide, gets close to the mic so it’s almost muffled
'Stevie darlin', this ones for you'
And Eddie starts Dolly Parton's 'Baby I'm burning' as the audience gets up on their feet and Nancy pulls Robin and Steve onto the dance floor. It's loud and it's fun and Eddie doesn't stop grinning the whole time, smile evident in his voice as he sings and he sends his thanks out to Dolly.

all I'm saying is singer! Steve au where he sings Strangers by Kenya Grace. In the music video it shows Steve with three different people one that looks eerily close to Nancy then to Billy and finally to Eddie and for there "break ups" it shows the bullshit scene for Nancy, Steve and Billy's fight at the Biersand a second long flash of Billy's death, and for Eddie's it shows the don't be a hero scene. Then the music video ends with Steve sitting alone on top of his car outside his house.

Where getting bitten can be an act of foreplay...starring vampire!Nancy rated M for mature, or something.
"Nance, be gentle," Robin moaned, the lower octave making the rasp of their voice more apparent, even against the low crackle of the record player. "Please."
Their head was tilted back against the dark wood headboard of the queen sized bed. Chest rising with each slow, deliberate, breath.
The room was hot. The beating of their heart prominent and prevalent.
The comforting weight of Nancy's body anchoring them to reality; legs straddling Robin as she hovered just above, thumb barely touching the soft skin on Robin's neck, while the other hand cradled Robin's boxers between their thighs.
Nancy smiled, eyes glistening red, now tracing a finger down the length of a vain that bulged as Robin swallowed.
"I'd never hurt you," Nancy's words resembled that of someone in a daze, her pupils small, visibly drinking in Robin's physical demeanor.
Before her fangs did the same to the crimson gold that flowed through Robin's veins.
"Just tell me if it hurts and I'll stop." Nancy's eyes locked with Robin's; who didn't look nervous. Or scared.
If anything Robin looked aroused. Somehow turned on by the fact that Nancy was mere moments from penetrating their skin with her fangs.
Robin licked their lips slowly, the muscles in their neck jumping as they swallowed, fingers gripping at Nancy's hips, "I trust you."
That was all Nancy needed to hear, eyes gleaming red for a moment as she lowered herself towards Robin's neck.
With each hot breath, Robin could feel the cresting of their beating heart, butterflies setting flight in their stomach.
Instinctively stretching their neck, giving Nancy more access, giving them both what they wanted, a pleasured moan vibrating through their chest as Nancy pierced the skin.

coming up on a year since I completed my undercover as a married couple in the time of the moth curse Nace!fic and getting a comment on it just reminded me of how much of a soft spot I still have for this story and I think it's pretty cool and neat that even as you're moving on from something, memories of the love you had for it can be so strong because memory is a fleeting thing but love is the only thing that transcends time and space and no matter how many years pass by or how many fandoms I live in for a little while I'll always feel that surge of fondness for this monster of a fic where I dumped all of my feels hoping to invoke all of the same in you

Sally went to work, and after her resentment was building up about Nancy scamming her, her friend robbing her, barely making any money at this level 5 career she got offered; suddenly this happened!
She didn't even think twice about becoming an informant, still fuming about the backstabbing she got from someone she thought was potentially helpful/useful like nancy specifically - Marci she's conflicted about, she has a problem but isn't strategically trying to hurt her like that landgraab asshole.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's obviously not happy that it didn't work out in this career though, she had high hopes and they got crushed pretty hard. And she still has bills to pay! (although honestly, with this mod a random shift bartending makes her more than she made as a criminal- and no more fedoras gdi!!)

incoming fic concept!!
The Upside Down is frozen exactly as it appeared on November 6th, 1983.
The flash of a lightbulb—its extinguishment. A boy in a shed, a shed empty.
The Upside Down is frozen exactly as it appeared on November 6th, 1983. Everything that existed in it at that moment remains there, unchanging.
On Tuesday, March 25th, 1986, Nancy Wheeler leads a group of teenagers through the Upside-Down to its slimy approximation of her house, so that they can fetch her guns and make a plan to escape.
On Sunday, November 6th, 1983, Will Byers is transported to a strange, cold, slimy world that is just like home but not. Terrified and confused, he sprints all the way back to the Wheelers’.
Nancy’s not going to just leave him there.

it comes with a little extras
Tumblr media
Repainted the house, I see. Went the other direction from a standard washing it all in pink. Pin "school is still closed for the summer". We will get back to that at the end.
Tumblr media
I am curious to know more about the blue afro haired black girl, who is becoming a regular in recolored reprints. Surely she will be given her own title soon. And. Did they erase / whitewash Nancy here?
The story really does not make sense. The crowd is there for a professional model's seemingly impromptu shoot because Archie told one person -- Jughead. It is out of character that he would care, yet here he is. As for the rest -- Dilton?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Temporal glitch and Archie briefly has on a red shirt. Somewhat interest effect to have angry photographer with pink background as opposed to blue elsewhere.
Tumblr media
Story is reshuffled for release in earlier release date, except next time they need to make sure to change an earlier panel.

public displays of affection - aaron hotchner x reader
the aaron take on the derek/penelope workplace seminar (episode of reference: 9x12)
cw; bau!reader, established relationship, suggestiveness, small allusions to sex, fluff <3, bau family banter, aaron being mortified😭, references to the episode wc; 1.4k
"penny," you shut one of your files, placing it in your desktop organizer. "you're creating a draft."
"this is bad. oh so very very bad." she stammered, continuing to pace back and forth, "i'm just mentally preparing myself to be humiliated in front of the entire unit. for the second time, may i add. god, who blabbed this time?
"what did you even do?" spencer chimed in, his head lifting from his current read.
"i don't know." she exclaimed, an exasperated breath leaving her. "nothing out of the ordinary, so that means anything is possible. you," she pointed at morgan, who casually was making his way over to the rest of you. "we're in big trouble."
"this could be totally unrelated." jj reassured her. you agreed, giving penelope a nod and a hopeful smile. "there was no footnote on what this meeting consisted of."
"well, there was no footnote last time. and to this day, i still get asked what flarpy blunderguff means." she huffed, crossing her arms and turning towards derek. "i love you my hunk of a man, but this. this is a nightmare."
as two began rolling around, the bullpen filled in anticipation for the seminar, a light hum in the room as conversations were exchanged back and forth in waiting.
in addition, a presence soon stilled beside you. one always familiar, but surprising under the current circumstances.
"what are you doing here?" you looked up to find aaron's gentle eyes. he took a seat on the edge of your desk, just behind your chair.
meetings like these - usually below aaron's pay grade. he hadn't needed to attend the last, infamous meeting for instance, HR meetings were normally things he had prior knowledge of, or simply not worth his valuable time as unit chief.
"i got the email as well." aaron's hand found the back of your neck, his fingers comfortably kneading into your always-tense muscles. every so often, his hand would brush to your shoulder, and then back again.
"oh no," penelope slapped onto derek's arm, the smack covered up by slim buzz within the vicinity. "what did we do?"
"looks like we're about to find out." dave stated, his eyes following the woman who had just entered the bullpen, moving to the front.
the notorious HR lady of the bureau, nancy, sauntered over to the large presentation screen set before the clusters of desks. not wasting a second to get down to business, she turned toward the crowd of eager agents.
"thank you all for your attendance and time, this shouldn't take too long." she started, poised and head held high.
penelope took a deep breath.
"this afternoon's presentation," nancy clicked a button on her remote, displaying the title page. "public displays of affection."
oh no.
aaron's hand, which had continued to smooth out the stiffness in your neck, halted immediately.
"as you all- most are well and should be aware, keeping conduct professional in the workplace is a must to prevent disruptions within the environment. displays of affection - examples upcoming - can cause extreme feelings of uncomfortableness amongst your colleagues, and can be distracting nonetheless. all of which, creates a...."
just as last time, she clicked her remote. and adjacent to penelope and derek's presentation, in big letters across the top:
"hostile work environment."
derek immediately snorted under his breath, inviting others to openly laugh as well. despite the urge to shoot daggers at him, you were utterly incapable of pulling your attention away from the front.
it wasn't a top secret ordeal - everyone could infer the pair this presentation was centered around, and be correct.
"and so," nancy exhaled a breath, her eyes darting in your and aaron's shared direction for a smidge second, causing the heat to grow in your face and body. "i urge everyone to refrain from the following,"
similar to yours, aaron's face burned, comparable in color to his tie. he let out a nearly inaudible, nervous cough from above you.
"sitting on one's lap, while working on caseloads - not appropriate."
more laughter rippled through the division.
"oh god." you mumbled under your breath, uncomfortably crossing a leg over the other as your palm covered the bottom half of your face.
contrary to the present belief, aaron was a stickler on pda.
for the first few months of your relationship, he hadn't dared to touch your arm, back, anything in order to maintain such affection within the field; it was reserved for closed doors at home only. he loved you, but he wanted to uphold his reputable professional nature.
but as time moved forward and your relationship progressed, he hadn't gotten sloppy, per se, but more relaxed or lenient was a better way to put it.
some displays were accidental by habit. if he wanted to give you a quick peck, depending on the situation and setting, he would. seated beside each other, he would lovingly squeeze your thigh under the table, if you needed the encouragement or if you made him proud in some regard. if he were feeling frisky one day - sure he would do something, just to rile you up for later, to each of your benefit. so on and so forth.
and if he was initiating affection, you took that as the all-clear to do the same. in variation, of course.
so more often than not, it was in private. just not... always. and the lock on aaron's office door often came in handy for that.
"prolonged kisses in the bullpen, elevator, not appropriate."
once. you were caught once in a (very) heated kiss in the elevator.
as you and aaron cowered in embarrassment, both dave and morgan looked far too amused for their own good. the rest of the team - raised, entertained eyebrows, tossing glances to one another while trying to constrain their laughter.
nancy swallowed, as if she needed strength to deliver the next point, "grabbing one's behind when going up the stairs, not appropriate."
another mortified cough exited aaron.
she went on, giving more examples of affection aaron and you were completely guilty of. and if just one singular time wasn't enough, she went-forth on the explanation that such displays can cause a barrier within the workplace.
when you thought it would never cease, nancy finally delivered her ending statement, "save it for home people, thank you."
and with that, as well as the screen darkening, everyone disbanded, low murmurs and chuckles filling the room as each went about their usual routine.
you looked up at aaron in absolute horror, whose face was currently in his hand. but even that didn't hide the blush brewing within his face, his ears flushed wildly as well.
you reached up, grabbing his wrist to pry his hand away.
"nuh uh uh," derek grinned as he wiggled his index finger at the two of you, imitating nancy to a tee. "not appropriate."
"you hush." you got to your feet, allowing you to remove his hand more easily. you cautiously prolonged your hold, brushing your thumb across his knuckles before letting it drop. "aaron?"
his brown eyes found yours, full of embarrassment. "that was..."
"humiliating?"
he nodded, his head accelerating in speed with each nod, "yeah. that's the term i would use."
"oh you poor dears." penelope breathed out, the one compassionate member of the team.
"damn." emily chuckled.
derek cackled again, clearly not ready to let this go. honestly, he probably never would. "thought we didn't notice when you pulled the blinds in the office, did ya?"
aaron gave him a pointed glare, putting a very quick end to the conversation. just as the rest, the team carried on with their remaining work for the day - you and aaron remaining frozen in place.
but surprisingly enough, a laugh did escape him, shaking through his chest. "guess i have to tone it down a little, huh?"
"oh thank god," you blurted out and exhaled in relief, a small smile forming on your lips. "i thought this would cause an avoidance arrangement or something." you teased - partially.
"of course not. some reservation, maybe, but not avoidance." aaron laughed quietly again, a sigh escaping him.
"that was bad, wasn't it?" a slightly pinched expression took form on your face, your cheeks tinting once more.
"it wasn't... good." aaron admitted with some hesitation, but his brown eyes still glowed despite the lines of troublesome. his hand found yours - after scanning that no one was paying attention to the two of you - giving it a squeeze. "but hey, out of problems to have, i'd take showing my love for you any day."

Steve who is kind of pissy and put-out that, after finally figuring out that liking boys is okay, he has no one to talk about cute boys to.
Robin will talk about girls all day long, but as soon as boys are brought up it’s all gagging and eye rolling and judgement.
Dustin settles with a slightly disturbed look, turning a magazine around every angle before giving Steve a hesitant, “I guess?”
Max just fights with him. On purpose, probably.
Steve would literally rather talk about wet paint before even trying with Nancy or Jonathan.
And it feels wrong and mean to talk about it with Eddie, who Steve loves very much and is absolutely his number one forever. But still, Steve is missing out on the opportunity to gossip and it’s horrible.
That is, until the night of The Gay bar. Steve’s first night at a gay bar. It deserves capital letters. He’s gotten to dance and kiss and hold on to Eddie all night and it’s been amazing. And then it happens.
A guy walks by, tall and golden, his black hair falling in a straight waterfall down his back. He’s wearing more glitter than clothes, and he looks almost alien, he’s so beautiful. Steve’s jaw drops.
He catches himself instantly, mouth closing with a click, and he whips his head around just in time to meet Eddie’s expression—shocked, panicked, and embarrassed—a perfect mirror to Steve’s.
They stare at each other for a moment, and then break into nervous giggles.
“Jesus,” Eddie says. “That guy was—”
“Insanely hot?” Steve laughs. They turn together, just in time to see the guy disappear into the crowd. “I didn’t know guys could be that pretty!”
“You saying I’m not pretty, Harrington?”
“You gave me shit last week that you’re actually handsome and rugged.”
“You called me cute!”
“And you are, dork!”
“… You think I could pull off a harness like that?”
Steve grins at him. “Oh, absolutely.”

Maybe I just think a little masochistic Vampire!Nancy with Hunter!Robin:
It was sadistic the way the laughter errupted from Nancy's chest, the force causing her shoulders to jump with motion. Her dark curls hid her face from Robin's view.
But she didn't need to see the maniacal expression, the wicked depth of Nancy's laughter was enough to chill Robin right through to the bones.
"Does it not burn you monster?" Robin snarled, closing the space while farther piercing the insides of the vampire, nose scrunching with hatred, hand gripped tight around the spear that protrudes from Nancy's chest. "Do you not feel pain, the same pain you so careless inflict onto others."
Nancy clicked her tongue against her teeth, lifting her head slowly; the blood that smeared her face had the same effect as a black and white movie that used but one color.
"I feel plenty hunter," her words a lazy drawl, tongue escaping to clear a path in crimson, "I feel the hot blade you use to seer me, I feel the hot gaze that begs to end me where I stand..." Nancy gripped the handle of the spear, "but I also feel the slow...hot hesitation in your heartbeat."
Another crackling laugh burst from Nancy's lips, head falling backwards as she filled the air with it. Fangs glinted in the low light.
