Tumblr media
KMazing – Entering the year 2017 Running Man faced many problems. Such that, it was notified that the year 2017 will be the last year Running Man. Because of the issue of the dismissal of Song Jihyo and Kim Jongkook at the end of 2016 is horrendous and unacceptable. Finally, the PD and Member of Running Man agreed to end the program, Then before the end, the concept is built around a special episode where each member is given their own episode to be planned.

But in the end, Running Man continues on air after the dismissal of the “troublemaker PD”, the famous variety show even add 2 new members, namely Yang Sechan and Jeon Somin which turn out to be a huge improvement. Still, like in 2016 where Running Man’s rating is still not as good as in its heyday. Slowly but surely Running Man’s Rating improved once again, at the end of the year the program achieved 2 digit rating. Well, which episode is the best in 2017 and 2018 so far? Here are the 20 best Episodes, exclaimed as the funniest from Running Man of 2017-2018. Enjoy!
Running Man welcomes the comeback of SNSD in this episode. As the experienced girlband get involved, there are a lot of funny scenes presented here. Like when the member has to choose their partner where Yuri is the unlucky one to be the partner of Ji Sukjin. Not only that, we will also see the SNSD members show their dance skills and aegyo and you will be melted with the aegyo power by Sunny. For me, the funniest scene is where Haha is always being reprimanded by her partner Soo Young. The theme of this episode is actually looking for the Bad Girls throughout the mission. Who will be 3 girls that became the Spy?

The episode that took the Couple Race theme welcome the arrival of many beautiful and cute guest stars. One of them is Jeon Somin who will then become the latest member of Running Man. Just as in Episode 224 where Kwangsoo and Somin became a couple, this episode both of them also became it too. But as predicted, rather than a romantic moment this couple show a lot of betrayal moment that will make us laugh our *ss off. Kwangsoo who had been known as a good traitor and schemer got betrayed by Somin, twice.
Episode 334 is Kim Jongkook Week. Where the Running Man members have to help Jongkook while he is having a romantic date with a girl. They also perform various games that will help determine the fate of Jongkook blind date trip. The concept is really touching and easy to “digest” and such romance is needed for the vivid viewer of Running Man, since the Monday Couple have separated, the romance was so lacking throughout the episodes, this particular episode at least give us a break and add more dynamic toward the concept of member’s week.
In the episode of this new year’s edition, the Running Man members are getting their prediction about their lives in 2017. Not only that, their health is also checked through the condition of their eyes. This is the usual concept that has been repeated like two or three times before, the funny part of these New Year episodes is when the members get the answer about their luck for that year which of course varied. This is also the first time Song Jihyo and Kim Jongkook is coupled in a romantic way.
What I like the most from this episode is the adaptability of the members of Super Junior which make even a simple game hugely interesting. Super Junior and Red Velvet became Guest in episode 376. Not only they did come in complete personnel. It turns out that one of the members of Suju, Eunhyuk is a friend from the same elementary school as Jeon Somin. There are also a lot of funny stories between them. The closeness of Somin and Eunhyuk make Donghae jealous and this kind spark is what keeps this episode interesting.
Running Man once again took the theme of Couple Race but this time with much more guest. There’s even an extra 2 male guest, Jo Se-ho and Sung Hoon. Meaning there are 8 pairs in total. So do not be surprised if this episode took 2 episodes. Even for its opening alone spend half the episode. The guest stars are asked to show his or her talents. Sunmi is definitely featuring with the famous dance of Ganshina. Well, Jo Seho as always gets tricked by Yoo Jaesuk. Not only that Jo Seho who is paired with Song Jihyo always get scolded and even beaten.
This is one of the episode of Global Race where Jeon Somin and Kwangsoo have to undergo their punishment in Indonesia or precisely in Gunung Kidul Jogjakarta. They have to cross toward the fishing island using a cable car made by the coastal residents of Pantai Timang which is made with Wood and several strings connected to each other. This whole episode features Somin and Kwangsoo. The members have to guess what they are doing and the result of the action. Kwangmin couple’s moments will also make us laughed and melted here.
Cara install pcsx2 windows 10. In this episode Running Man welcome the arrival of special guest star Gary! Gary and his clone forces came into this episode to defeat the other members which come as a surprise since the member didn’t expect the appearance of their ex-member. The twist is there and presented professionally with good build up and tension. 7012!
Where Jae Suk became MC while the other Running Man member has a match against another team of entertainers. It’ss guaranteed a lolly moment when you watch this episode. Maybe for some, this episode is a bit bland and much more like the moment of revival for some entertainer, but the game was not blatantly simple, plus there is a twist at the end.
In this episode, the members were asked to collect items to fill a house which later will become their base camp. Starting from the sofa, carpet, mattress, to the toilet. They had to borrow or ask for many items from their fellow celebrities, from Cha Taehyun, Kim Dong Wook, to Park Bo Gum. This episode is really exciting for me because each member get their airtime almost equally and all of the moments created are super funny.
Continuing the theme of Global Race, this time Running Man visit Japan to get serve the sentence in the Ghost House. Unfortunately, Kwangsoo must serve the punishment by himself. While Somin went through it with Yoo Jae Suk and Ji Suk Jin served his “adventure” with Yang Se Chan. Lots of funny and thrilling scenes we go from this episode like VJ of Ji Sukjin who fled in fear and left his camera behind.
Well, Haha’s special episode is the best among the others. Haha has been known as a hesitant type of personality and wishy-washy with the choices available. In this episode, Haha will always be told to choose between two members who are prepared to undergo a punishment. Like Lee Kwangsoo or Ji Sukjin who will be thrown into the air with a giant ball. Or Kim Jongkook (eating high calories food) and Song Jihyo (touch insects). And the twist was Haha didn’t plan this episode but other members did this as the gift for Haha’s second child which had made Haha want to run away due to the shameful feeling.
Episode 372 can be categorized as to be one episode with the best Twist of 2017 or perhaps one of the best Twist in Running Man history. Early on, the member saw a video of Lee Kwangsoo who was talking with two mysterious people. Kwangsoo is upset about who he has takes to undergo the punishment in Australia. Well, you will be really shocked by what happened at the end. Usually, we’ll see Jeon Somin making a loveline with Kwangsoo or any male single guest but in this episode Jeon Somin create a romantic moment with Kim Jongkook. Like when somin act as a girlfriend of Kim Jongkook.
Last part of Global Race Project last of 2017 where Running Man members are divided into 2 groups. Lee Kwangsoo’s team which consist Jeon Somin, Ji Sukjin and Yoo Jaesuk flew to Australia and Kim Jongkook’s team consist of Haha, Song Jihyo, and Yang Sechan visited New Zealand. This is the second part because it has previously aired in Episode 378. If in the previous episode 378 (Team Australia) is stealing the attention, during this episode Team New Zealand became the star. Obviously, because this team offers cuteness and tension. Where Haha and Sechan had vomited before getting on the swing and the best moments when Song Jihyo and Kim Jongkook take on the Nevis Swing with the upside position.
Running Man’s blockbuster scenes frequently have a lot of rushes, chills and enough twist on the story to keep watchers oblivious until the last minute. This scene; highlighting apparitions from Running University, took the great Running Man blockbuster scene to another level with a sudden wind that left the individuals reeling, as well as the gathering of people. You wouldn’t have any desire to miss this scene, including incredible part science and collaborations, and a splendid storyline that will keep you snared until the finish of the race.
Still a continuation of episode 346, this 347 episode has three teams, namely Osaka team, Taipei team, and Jeju-do team. They have to buy souvenirs in those places. The team that has the heaviest souvenirs will win this mission. The scale of the mission is huge and Jang Do Yeon helps create smooth episode especially during the trip to Jeju-do. Overall this episode is a good one as the new member looks fluid enough to gel with the original member of Running Man.
This episode centers around the Running Man individuals gunning to be the beneficiary to Running Airline’s affluent director. As basic as it is an idea, the scene is made more troublesome by the beneficiaries; feisty and brimming with shocks. This present scene’s quality likewise originates from the last mission, an unofficial ID tearing mission in which the individuals need to battle against each other to be the beneficiary. There’s an immense twist towards the end which you presumably won’t see it coming either.
Special Christmas episode on Running Man, for the most part, have an amazing quality of esteem, however, to keep in accordance with the current year’s Running Man subject of wanders aimlessly, the PD have thought of yet another blockbuster scene including apparitions, vindictive spirits, and people. You’d most likely never observe Christmas similarly again. A note, the main portion of the scene tends to delay somewhat more, yet the real race is where the place of fun is.
This is the best and funniest Running Man episode in 2017 but not quite fundamental. Because this episode is special to celebrate 7 years Running Man. All Running Man members come to the show with their friends and family. Like Song Jihyo and Somin who brought their younger brother and Kim Jongkook who came with his older brother. Other members choose to take their friends. But before the guests come out they tell the habits of each member. Like Haha who once vent on and wanted to gang up Kim Jongkook. All agreed that the star in this episode is Haha’s friend Park Geun-shik and Jo Seho. Geunsik with his innocence often makes Haha angry while Jo Se Ho always gets teased by Yoo Jaesuk. But Tae Hang-ho (Friends of Kwangsoo) also take much of the airtime while trying the high voice game.
On episode 346, the new member Jeon So-min and Yang Se-chan start joining permanently as a cast member. Here we will be getting stomachache because of their hilarious behavior, especially from the new member! This time there are three teams that compete to win. They must successfully undergo a mission if not, the will be given a horrible penalty. It might not be the funniest, but this episode becomes the turning point of the new era of Running Man. Thus, we see this episode as the fundamental episode of Running Man in 2017.

❊ IT’S OKAY, THAT’S LOVE ❊
RATING: 100000/10
Yes, here I am again with my exaggerated rating--but, if you just watched the drama with me in person, you would have understood how crazy I was for it.
My friend kept telling me to watch this show over and over again because her bias from EXO (D.O.) was in it. She would tell me that it was such a good show, and it was one she would highly recommend. But me, being the stubborn me, was still so caught up with Fight For My Way; that, I didn’t even bother checking it out. But just last week, I have never been so crazy over a man called Jang Jae Yeol.
OKAY FIRST LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. I NEED TO LET MY FEELINGS OUT.
JANG JAE YEOL (played by Jo In Sung) IS HANDS DOWN THE MAN OF MY DREAMS. OKAY, I KNOW I SAY THAT ABOUT ALL THE MEN IN THE DRAMAS I WATCH, BUT THIS MAN. THIS FREAKING MAN. HE IS LITERALLY SEXY INCARNATE. SEXY IN A WAY THAT 1) THE WAY HE TEASES HAE SOO, AND 2) HE IS AN EDUCATED MAN WHO WRITES NOVELS AND HANDLES A RADIO SHOW. THE AMOUNT OF TIMES I SLAPPED MY BED/WANTED TO PUNCH MY LAPTOP BECAUSE OF HIS IMMENSELY FLIRTATIOUS PERSONALITY IS INNUMERABLE. I HAD TO PAUSE THE SHOW BECAUSE MY EMOTIONS WERE SKYROCKETING. LIKE ONE MINUTE I WOULD BE LIKE “OMG I LOVE YOU JANG JAE YEOL THE SWEETEST BOYFRIEND IN THE WORLD” THEN THE NEXT “OMG JANG JAE YEOL MARRY ME AND HAVE MY CHILDREN YES DADDY THE ONLY DILF IN MY LIFE”. It was indeed a rollercoaster.
From the first episode, Jae Yeol’s flirty and teasing personality was already seen--especially, in the part where they had the talk show between Hae Soo and Jae Yeol. I was immediately hooked from that part on. I knew I had to keep watching.
The show is interesting as it tackles mental health issues like depression, schizophrenia, and many others which I quite liked. It helps the viewers understand that mental illnesses aren’t “light” diseases that can be cured through simply pills or support groups. Mental diseases are actually quite severe to the point where isolation is necessary as it can harm the patient and even those around the said patient. Apart from that, it gives a nice view of the people who surround this patient--how they cope with a loved one who has this disease.
Sure, this plot may make the drama sound quite heavy as it involves mental illnesses (well, for me, if I read a summary that explained similar to the way I did)--but, it was not, surprisingly. It is both a light and heavy drama, in a sense. A majority of the drama was amusing and light because of the chemistry between the couples in the show. But towards the end, it starts to get serious as these mental illnesses arise and become issues. Other than that, it was the most entertaining drama I’ve watched. You actually won’t be able to sleep because you’ll want to watch the next episode--especially, if the next episode could involve a kiss between Jae Yeol and Hae Soo. BuuUuuUuUuuut, I wouldn’t want to spoil it, so I guess you’ll just have to watch and see for yourself.
WHICH LEADS ME TO MY EMOTIONS OVER THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN Hae SOO AND JAE YEOL--MY DREAM RELATIONSHIP WHICH MY FUTURE BOYFRIEND. IF I DO GET ONE.
Hae Soo is literally me--but, not to the extent that she gets panic/anxiety attacks when someone kisses her. It made me quite sad that the reason why she developed this illness is because she was traumatized from having seen her mom cheating on her father. And to think that some people have experience as well is extremely saddening.
But apart from that, Gong Hyo-Jin a.k.a. my queen, played her role as Hae Soo exceptionally. I absolutely love Hae Soo’s assertive personality as it makes her appear like such a powerful person. And every time she was able to beat Jae Yeol in an argument (ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST EPISODE DURING THE DEBATE ON THE TALK SHOW OMG) I internally scream, “YAS QUEEN THAT IS MY QUEEN GIRL POWER SISTER!” And wow. If I were a man, she would probably be the woman of my dreams. She is the kind of girlfriend I want to be. I absolutely loved her teasing personality as it made Hae Soo and Jae Yeol’s relationship extremely exciting.
I particularly remember what Kwang Soo said that Hae Soo will tease the man she likes constantly, whereas the man would be completely impatient in having sex with her. Yes, people, I said sex.
I just love that personality of hers! She is so dominating! Yet, she is also educated as she is a doctor as well, and a loving and sacrificial daughter to her family! I mean??? Who wouldn’t want a woman like Hae Soo???
And because of her dominating and assertive personality, and Jae Yeol’s teasing and sexy personality--Jae Yeol and Hae Soo is probably the hottest couple in all of the dramas I’ve watched. THE AMOUNT OF TIMES THEY TEASED EACH OTHER AND KISSED EACH OTHER. And not to mention, this is the first drama I’ve watched that involved sex as a topic. It is quite on the mature side, which I really enjoyed as someone who is in nearing her 20s.
AND EVEN THE OTHER CHARACTERS AND SIDE COUPLES PLAYED THEIR ROLES EXCEPTIONALLY.
Soo Kwang (played by Lee Kwang Soo, yes the comedian, even I was shocked to find out that he acts too!) was a character I extremely admired. He has this disease called Tourette Syndrome where the patient would experience “motor and vocal tics (according to Google)” in unexpected times. But what made him special was that, despite this syndrome of his, he never gave up in trying to heal himself. And when another character was diagnosed (that’s for you to find out who when you watch the show ;)) with a mental disease, he was the most supportive person ever. He was probably the number 1 fan of Hae Soo and Jae Yeol and it was the cutest thing ever. He would mostly be on Hae Soo’s side and join her in calling Jae Yeol a “player” and a “dog”--which, was the funniest thing ever.
And other than that, I was so happy when he was successfully able to find a woman he likes and accepts this syndrome of his. And that woman was played by my first girl crush, Lee Sung Kyung--who of course, executed her role exceptionally as well. I found it quite weird, however, that Soo Kwang was already someone in the working age, but he dated So Nyeo (played by Lee Sung Kyung) who was a high school student. But other than that, they relationship was still slightly cute as So Nyeo was an absolutely supportive girlfriend who loved Soo Kwang even for his syndrome--which, “heals” throughout the show.
And even Dong Min (played by Sung Dong Il) was a great actor. I remember he played the antagonist in Legend of the Blue Sea, so it was quite new for me seeing him as a protagonist this time. But, wow, he executed his role as a doctor and a support system for all the characters! He has a fatherly image to me especially, because he was someone every one came to when they had problems--apart from him being a doctor as well similar to Hae Soo. He was a wise man who always confronted Hae Soo and Jae Yeol when something was wrong, and he always knew the right things to say--especially, in the scene when Hae Soo was starting to realize that she had feelings for Jae Yeol.
And his relationship with Young Jin (played by Jin Kyung) who was another doctor was one I truly treasured. Dong Min and Young Jin used to be married, but got a divorce. And though Young Jin still had feelings for Dong Min--which, she admitted in the middle of the show--they compromised by becoming close friends towards the end. It was a relationship that was so comforting, because it just goes to show that sure, you did love this person to the point you married this person, and even though these two people may be separated, your love for someone will never fade, it was just converted into a different kind of love--like a friendship type of love. And wow, just the thought of that was so comforting to know.
And of course, a special mention to Kang Woo played by our very own EXO’s D.O.  who executed his role exceptionally as well. Kyungsoo is extremely talented as someone who has one of the sweetest and most remarkable voices in the K-Pop industry. And other than being a worldwide singer, he is now a renowned actor. Kudos to you, Kyungsoo! I find Kyungsoo such a cutie throughout the show as he wore school uniforms, and cute striped shirts. He is indeed a smol boi. I really don’t want to mention his character as it kind of spoils the show, but he played his role exceptionally well--trust me on this.
AND ALL THE OTHER SUPPORTING CHARACTERS, OF COURSE, PLAYED THEIR ROLES WELL AS THE SHOW CAME OUT TO BE ONE OF THE MOST RENOWNED SHOWS.
I always say this in the reviews I write but: I wish I could say more. But, of course, a novel of my appreciation for this drama would be more convenient.
I extremely recommend this show to everyone, especially if you’re looking for shows that are light and have a more mature vibe. I was extremely satisfied with the show, especially with the ending as well, as it was filled with moments that make you extremely giddy to the point where punching one’s laptop would be necessary. And yet, it is a show that tackles different kinds of love which I liked as well. And on a personal note, this show surprisingly also gave me tips for when I do get into a relationship.
Just a disclaimer too, this show does have a mature vibe, and there is a scene where sex is involved. So, just take that into account when you do plan on watching this show.
Other than that, the show is absolutely one of my favorites with a great plot and a great cast.

CHICAGO TYPEWRITER ( 시카고 타자기) From April to June 2017
Network: tvN
Number of episodes: 16
Cast: Yoo Ah In, Lim Soo Jung, Go Kyung Pyo, Kwak Si Yang, Joo Woo Jin, Yang Jin Sung
Kilig* Factor: Satisfactory. It’s there but not too in-your-face. Seju is just a total tsundere but it’s perfect because (spoiler?) it’s every fangirl’s dream to meet their idol and be able to peel back all their layers and see them for who they truly are. There’s just enough strain between them that makes you root for them but there’s also some solid, cute couple moments that I may or may not have re-watched because huhu when will I ever???
Drama Factor: SO. MUCH. ANGST. I LOVE IT. Since the plot revolves around a tragedy they can’t figure out, when more of the plot is revealed, there is so much upheaval of emotions on their part, which also affects the audience. Not too mention the main cast’s acting is no joke. Absolutely captivating. Every episode feels heavy loaded, especially the last parts. This drama made me tear up again and again because one, there’s just something about past lives that really get to me and two, the lines (thank Jin Soo Wan) and their delivery just hit home so hard.
Love Triangle Factor: This triumvirate’s affection for each other is the only Kdrama love triangle I will recognize. Their friendship is so special and it LITERALLY transcended lifetimes. The main cast’s chemistry is endearing like they’re all going through so much but they still have each other’s backs. And you know what, I love how Seol didn’t have to pick. I mean, she sort of did, but she didn’t really. Those two boys were both hers and they knew it. Sigh, now I want to be their friend.
Notes: it really isn’t a surprise that Chicago Typewriter is my favorite drama because the characters are writers/avid readers; there is a touch of supernatural in the plot which is always good in my books; there is amazing acting. I honestly couldn’t get over how well they did it (especially Ko Gyung Pyo who is now one of my favorites); there is a balance between sad and light scenes, all while letting the story progress; and there are really cute moments without it feeling like fan service. I just love this show. I finished it at 4 AM after no sleep and I was physically and emotionally exhausted but at the end, it made me want to sit down and write and work because that’s the kind of storytelling that I want the world to be filled; stories that make people want to claim their roles as heroes in their stories. And heroes they are, this unforgettable trio. The only thing unrealistic about this is that Seju lives in a mansion. Like, I get that he’s a writer and he’s famous, but a mansion? Really? That’s doubtful.
Rating: 10/10 (will watch again!!!)
*(The Filipino word “kilig” is untranslatable but the best description is “the feeling one gets when they experience something romantic” or “that heart fluttering feeling”; whichever suits your fancy.)

W: TWO WORLDS ( 더블유) From July to September 2016
Network: MBC
Number of episodes: 16
Cast: Lee Jong Suk, Han Hyo Joo, Jong Eu Gene, Lee Tae Hwan, Park Won Sang, Cha Kwang Soo, Kim Eui Sung
Kilig Factor: Hyo Joo and Jong Suk have impeccable chemistry and Song Jae Jung (bless her heart) doesn’t let that go to waste. There were times when I would pause the episode just to let what I saw sink in. I thought, “HOW CAN TWO PEOPLE LOOK THIS CUTE???” Some scenes were so kilig, I almost cried. Sure, it was defo fan service for all us thirsty, lonely hoes, however, it is duly appreciated. Many times I would finish an episode and just want a boyfriend because dammit, Lee Jong Suk. Some moments are a little cringe-y when you think long and hard about whether really people do that, but I’m not complaining. I’m perfectly fine with it.
Drama Factor: Like all good dramas should, the endings that W episodes go through crush my heart. Ultimately, it was just begging for a happy ending. I didn’t think that a sci-fi/rom-com plot was capable of making me upset but I guess that’s the charm of W; that even with loss, confusion, mystery, yearning, and all those painful adjectives, you still sit tight and grip the seat to watch it all unfold. For me, W has one of the best endings ever, a satisfying close, like a sigh of relief. To be honest, when I think about W nowadays, there’s this phantom ache in my chest just because there were scenes when I just thought, “The writer did THAT.” So word of warning, watch with detachment and if not, just be careful.
Creativity Factor: In the span of 16 episodes, W managed to scissor multiple plots and be stitched together and still not confuse the hell out of me. I think that is a plus for creativity. More often than I expected, W’s story line felt different each time a problem began. It’s an absolute roller coaster with a bunch of tropes that sometimes it felt like watching a whole other show. I personally enjoy that. It felt like an adventure, although exhausting at that. But sometimes, it does do something ridiculous that reminds you, this isn’t real anyways but I forgive that for entertainment’s sake.
Notes: Not entirely a stunning show, but a unique and imaginative one. No other drama has quite left the same impression W did with me. This was the drama I recommended the most to people. It was about creation and art as well so that appealed to me. I love the bits where Song Moo would be sketching and whatever he did started translating to reality. That must’ve been hard to shoot so I commend the director as well. W also felt quick to watch as the plot moved without dawdling too much. It was quite unrealistic and intense but still, incomparable. As for the romance, Yeon Joo and Chul = OTP.
Rating: 9/10 (when will my life become a drama???)

GOBLIN: THE LONELY AND GREAT GOD ( 쓸쓸하고 찬란하神-도깨비) From December 2016 - January 2017
Network: tvN
Number of episodes: 16
Cast: Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, Lee Dong Wook, Yoo In Na, Yook Sung Jae
Kilig Factor: At first, I seriously didn’t like them because of the age difference and it was little weird that Eun Tak called him “ahjussi.” Later on, I got used to it and as their love story progressed, the more I got tangled with it. I absolutely can’t forget the part when it would rain and Eun Tak would cry hysterically and she had no clue why. That was such a powerful and poignant scene for me. Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun are incredible actors. They could convey such deep emotions from their characters and still retain parts of that when they become quirky. With the Sunny/Grim Reaper pairing, it felt a little dragging and draining by the end, to be honest. However, there’s this certain yearning I can’t remove that I want them to end up together. I think their relationship boosted Goblin/Eun Tak’s by showing a contrast. The kind of drama with romantic scenes that made me squeal out loud.
Drama Factor: I think there were only a few episodes I didn’t shed a tear over. The writing has this fragrant poetry structure to it that just appeals so much to a hopeless romantic like me. I know people don’t talk that way in real life but there’s just a beauty with a good string of words that can support an otherwise mediocre scene. Also, a very, very good cast. There was a lot of crying but it didn’t feel overwhelming (for me) because of how it was delivered. I think Goblin is a show I would watch if I ever doubted the supreme lightness love can bring after a dreadful storm.
OST Factor: Unforgettable. There’s a reason that Goblin’s is one of the most famous. The roster of performers in that OST is unbelievable. It’s so well chosen, especially once it’s edited as the background for a certain scene. There’s also so much to choose from that the songs post-Goblin binge watching don’t feel sickening; more nostalgic than anything. The OST by itself captures the sweet sadness of Goblin’s story and that’s a pretty good feat for a musical score to achieve.
Notes: Goblin was the very first Korean drama that I’ve watched properly and voluntarily. I was just really curious at first but then the cinematography, the music, the acting of this show absolutely blew me away. I think I cried majority of the time because I couldn’t believe I was watching such a well written show with representation of people who looked like me! (Asians!!!) I think that like the show’s theme of first love for the 900 year old Goblin, this was the perfect drama to show me how great K-dramas have become, and maybe I’m being eye roll worthy but it felt a little like finding a first love. I have nothing but fondness over Goblin and its clever story full of fate and twists and childlike innocence amidst the dark past they all share. And loneliness is something that is so palpable to me and seeing it suited up like this, made my heart clench and have hope. It’s wonderful like that.
Rating: 15/10. Just watch it. It’s worth your time.

Kilig Factor: Of course I know most people don’t fall in love with their neighbors that often but this one is an exception. Romantic love wasn’t the main theme for this show however it still came through. And yes, I may be super biased when it comes to Park Bo Gum and Go Kyung Pyo and yes, them just smiling can get me riled up already BUT the love triangle presented towards the end is pretty decent and the falling-back-in-love trope with two characters is realistic and enjoyable enough. I’ve never seen a character demonstrate that kind of attitude (fiercely and stubbornly choosing their career over a relationship) before so it was quite interesting for me. There were little moments where they would reveal that this character actually liked this character, or did this for this character that would just have me punching a pillow, kicking, and screaming because dammit, that’s cute. I think it could have been better though, but as Reply 1988 isn’t solely focused on that, it’s good enough.
Drama Factor: Okay, compared to Reply 1988, my crying in Goblin was a dripping faucet. This show had me bursting like a waterfall. It was in all those moments that felt real, so, so real, I couldn’t help but weep. It was superb how Lee Woo Jeong wrote this show with tenderhearted conversations and the absolute unfairness of life that everybody can relate to and have such an awesome cast enact it in the messy times of the 80′s and translate into something a girl like me could deeply feel. Towards the end, I cried at every episode (there was always just something that hit me so much!) and it was the kind that would start as a sob and just progress then on. Inside Reply 1988 were lessons and experiences that everybody has felt or will feel or is trying to forget that universally is the same but in a different packaging. This show, to me, is the epitome of a Korean drama, unashamed and so emotional.
Food Factor: To be honest, there were far too many times Reply 1988 made me hungry. From clams to ramyun to kimchi pancakes to fish-shaped bread, they ate everything. I do appreciate it though because it exposed what Korean culture is like and how families have a good meal with each other as an act of love. I find the putting-meat/egg/vegetable/whatever-into-someone’s-bowl gesture as a unique and  simple way of saying you favor someone. I also saw how important food is with the plot because as they go through changes, their food changed! When they were poor, they complained about side dishes. When they got older, the food they ate became different. When something good happens, there’s a whole feast. When watching this show, beware of the scrumptious dishes. I’m still looking for tteokbokki these days.
Notes: First of all, the set design team is amazing. I didn’t feel the whole Ssamundong late 80′s vibe at first but then it felt a little like home after so many hours of looking at it. There’s a lot of things I want to complain about this show, especially how it didn’t resolve properly. There were so many things left hanging! So many relationships unexplored! So many people’s endings swept aside! I didn’t feel like it got the ending it deserved. However, this was such a heartwarming drama. I haven’t seen such a raw presentation of this kind of suburban city life anywhere and it was familiar to me. I also loved how in an episode, things will happen and at the end, there was actually one unifying theme for all of that. I can say nothing more about Reply 1988 other than it did feel like I was growing up with these kids and I was part of their rag-tag bundle of troublemakers. That’s the most important part, I think, to have your audience feel like they were a part of it all. It means art has done its job well.
Rating: 7/10. A little disappointing but still great.
(this took me forever to make but it was fun. i might make a part two. maybe...)

70 Questions
Thank you @pinkhoodiemark for tagging me in this. I usually get so lazy to do challenges and this one was soooooo long but it’s kinda nice to reflect on some of these ☺️ also I’m pretty sure Emili has tagged me in at least one other challenge before and I wanna fulfill at least one thing she tags me in ✨
this is pretty long so if you really wanna get to know me you can read more under the cut
1. do you have a good relationship with your parents? it’s 50/50 we have our good moments and our very bad moments but sadly, even tho I’m an adult now, things haven’t changed.
2. who did you last say “i love you” to? my pets are pretty much the only ones I’m comfortable saying ‘i love you’ to. I say it to my cat Cloud the most.
3. do you regret anything?
Yes, lots of personal things. Lately I regret my major and not putting more effort in college.
4. are you insecure?
Like everyone I have insecurities but I try not to dwell on them or let them affect me cus I know that they’re insignificant and not worth it. Doesn’t mean I don’t think of them from time to time.
5. what’s your relationship status?
Very single, mostly because I’m not comfortable opening up to people and I’m still kinda struggling with my ‘identity’
6. how do you want to die? the most painless way possible? i don’t...really think about how i wanna die tbh
7. what did you last eat? some store bought chocolate cake I’ve been eating almost everyday 😬 I really need to stop, it’s not healthy
8. played any sports? no, never. i am very very unathletic. idk how i ever managed to run those 12 min miles in high school
9. do you bite your nails? not now but i did a lot as a little kid
10. when was your last physical fight? i’m not much of a fighter but most likely it was a fight with my sister or maybe my mom (don’t worry it wasn’t too rough) years ago
11. do you like someone?
define ‘like’
12. have you ever stayed up 48 hours?
i don’t think so, i think maybe 36 hours would be my limit
13. do you hate anyone at the moment? at the moment no, though I usually don’t feel hate towards people
14. do you miss someone?
i miss the company of someones
15. have any pets?
i have two cats, Maxx (an old lady) and Cloud (my soon to be 3 year old bby) and my sister has a yorkie Oakley (a terrorizer who won’t leave me alone) but since she’s hardly ever home and I’m always taking care of him he’s practically mine
16. how exactly are you feeling at the moment? i feel like I probably sound like a robot throughout all this, sorry I can’t express emotion unless it’s in all caps
17. ever made out in the bathroom? nope
18. are you scared of spiders? regular daddy long legs are fine but anything bigger than that get it away from me
19. would you go back in time if you were given the chance? I want to say yes because there are things I really really regret that especially affect other ppl but I feel like what’s in the past is in the past and I probably shouldn’t mess with it
20. where was the last place you snogged someone? no comment
21. what are your plans for this weekend? no plans!! my life is so boring since a bunch of my friends joined the military and moved away and some of my college friends have moved on with their life and I hardly see them anymore 😭 (i still have friends they’re just as boring as me)
22. do you want to have kids? how many? not really, i kinda fear having a tiny human growing inside me and giving birth to it. i think if i ever were to have children I’d rather adopt but even that sounds like a big commitment I might never be ready for
23. do you have piercings? how many? my ears have been pierced since I was a baby and I haven’t worn earrings in over 10 years but the holes never filled in

26. what are you craving right now? guidance? an epiphany? motivation?

28. have you ever been cheated on? Nope.
29. have you made a boyfriend/girlfriend cry? nope.
30. what’s irritating you right now? the fact that I finally found an installation of photoshop that works but I can’t download it because apple sucks and won’t let me download apps unless it’s from the apple store/one of their developers!!!! 😤😤😤 I refuse to pay a monthly fee for photoshop that’s ridiculous I’m not made of money.

69. do you believe in soulmates? JJP ARE SOULMATES!!! they don’t have to ever get together but you can’t learn about their history and tell me they’re not soulmates (at least platonically) but honestly I strongly believe a strong force like fate brought all of got7 from 4 different countries together. So many trainees get switched around from company to company and either never debut or it takes them 7+ years but with GOT7 they debuted under their first company and their average training period lasted around 3 years. BamBam almost didn’t debut with them because JYP thought he was too young until YG’s show did an episode at JYPE. Youngjae would have never debuted if he didn’t practice and practice and continue auditioning for JYP. I could go on and on but in the end I truly believe jjp are soulmates and got7 are soulmates.
70. is there anyone you would die for? um idk maybe my family and pets but don’t hold me to that
I feel like a lot of my mutuals aren’t really on tumblr any more :// so I’ll tag a few who are still active @katbeom @yubgam @husbandsjjp (I haven’t seen you around in a while either!!)

1st Solo Trip - Krabi (Part2)
I actually spent a good hour typing this post up but it vanish due to some stupid wifi issue in the hotel and to type it again seems to lose it’s moment. So I am just gonna recap the moments I had on my 1st day in Krabi.
I took AirAsia to Krabi, sat in between 2 guys. The one on my right was dozing in and out of sleep that he was doing a little head swinging from left to right which was rather distracting when you are trying to focus on your movie but there is this incoming shoulder coming in and out from your right shoulder. That aside, there were quite a few air turbulence episode towards the last 30 mins of the flight.
No one likes experiencing air turbulence, especially me. In that spilt moment, all sorts of thoughts would come into my head and make it even more worse. Thoughts such as “Are we going to crash?” “ What if we are unable to land?” “Is the wing going to break apart?” “I don’t want to die on my first solo trip?!”. Those are the kind of thoughts I had while holding onto my seat tightly yet trying not to look so distressed.
Then we finally landed and it took a while to get off the plane of which I realised that we had a shuttle bus to pick up us from the plane to the main building. Then came the immigration episode. I know that there would be a quite a lot of people based on the full flight that I had. But I was not expecting the boards of tourists from China! There were like at least 3 groups of over 20 people. They rushed to queue like sheeps but then they had to come out of the queue as they have yet to collect their passport from their tour guide. Such a commotion!
I had one group in front of me that queued and had to rush back to their tour guide to get their passport but then they jumped back into the line as if they do not need to re-queue. I was like WTF?! Was I suppose to hold their places for them while they being the goons they are to cut my queue?! Never mind about that since they have rushed into their places in front of me since I am not rushing for any time but it was rather annoying. Then there are 3 counters with 1 line but somehow with them in front of me, they made it into 5 lines in that ONE line queue. Seriously! They really amaze me to many levels.
You know that you are suppose to fill up the arrival/departure card if you are not from the country right? If you don’t, I am telling you. Then there are some goons who didn’t filled it and just had to hover at the front of the line to fill it up. I mean where in the world is their common sense in doing simple things such as filling up a form/card? Finally, the immigration process took about 30 mins or slightly more.
I am somewhat thankful that I was on my own. Cause I think I am able to manage my emotions better that way. Then it was time to get myself the SIM card so that I am connected to the world, mainly my partner and my mum, once that was sorted out, I had to find my ride to my hotel which my friend had mentioned to me. It was a sharing shuttle van that sends you to the various hotel of your riders and yourself included. The ride was long, almost an hour and I was dozing in and out plus I was hungry!
I was dropped off opposite my hotel which was rather hard to locate if you didn’t open your eyes big enough. Checked myself in. It is a decent hotel with the necessary furnishing that you would expect and need. Staff were very friendly and nice. The hotel was reccommended by my friend who was here the last time. She had the hotel view of the carpark / road while lucky me, had the view of the mountains with the street below. I ain’t complaining as long as I have a functioning room and a balcony that I can smoke at.
Settled down and texted the necessary worrywarts that I am safe and sound with a roof over my head. Then I went out to check out the other parts of the hotel, it seems to me that it is more suited for families rather than lovey couples. Cause they have a slide from the 3rd floor going to the 2nd floor playroom for kids. I mean, you could play with the slide if you are under 100kgs. Then the furnishings of the hotel is simple with the sheep as its mascot and theme so it is rather cute as well.
Then I decided to roam the streets to see what I can find. I needed to get some toiletries since I packed rather light. I think the lightest since my business trip to Mumbai last year since I was only needed there overnight. There were quite a few eateries around, the usual Starbucks, McDonald’s, Subway and cafes. So I don’t think I would starve and there are a few massage parlours in the area as well which I would be going to tomorrow and the day after cause it is dirt cheap compared to where I am from.
Got myself some cup noodles, my toiletries, soft drinks and had dinner in an Italian restaurant that serves the usual Italian food fare and local Thai food as well. I had myself the Chicken Pad Thai and ordered a starter which was deep fried tempura cuttlefish. I never really liked to eat alone but I am proud that I was able to manage it well. Then head back to the hotel to park all the items that I’ve bought. Head down to the reception to discuss on the tour that I would like to go on for Day 2.
Had myself some chocolate brownie gelato while typing the post that vanished for about an hour before I head back to my room to bath and clean up nicely to chill in my room. It is nice to be alone at times as well, doing things you want to and having no one to rush you or to make plans for. It’s pleasant experience so far except for the beginning episode.
All in all, I do feel that there isn’t enough time to myself. Cause I am in constant contact with people back home that I don’t feel like I am actually away till perhaps when I am in bed.
More to come for the next post. Rare times where I could be blog away with nothing in line and time is within my control.
