You're one of the most level headed persons I follow here so I want to know what you think about today because honestly I think most people are over reacting. Like I understand why people are upset but idk

I’m gonna level with you, and I know most fans know this but don’t like being reminded, the person responding to those tweets? Not actually Louis. It’s someone who either works for BMG or it’s one of his managers (which is why they responded to that about chicken parm which… Jfc larrie 101) so I truly am not bothered by it. It’s just one of those things 🤷🏼‍♀️ if his team feels some sort of way about it they would do better A. Ignoring us as I mentioned, or B. Taking it up with Harry who brought back the umbro shirt earlier this month.

I know there are people who think they broke up. I obviously don't agree, and i think their arguments are weak, they lack understanding and they're projecting.

I also question why they're still fans of someone they believe tried as hard as they could to combat the gaslighting that were happening around their relationship. They tried to show their fans who they really were, that they had no agency and were forced into stunting. And then they broke up and decided to start gaslighting these fans themselves by pretending to still be together? Talking about absolutely fucking up your own fandom? Gaslighted by both label and H and L from two different sides? For what?

I could see Louis doing it perhaps because he's got mostly larrie fans, but he hardly caters to us anyway? He's the one doing all the denials and shitting on us to try to to invalidate us? It's also him bringing media attention to larry. It's him that at the same time sings "i love him, i hate it". If he was gay and single there would be no need to continue bg. Bg is stopping him from gaining new fans. It would be to his career advantage if it ended. Yes, it would put a spotlight on larry and people would start questioning H's sexuality, but why would L care if they've broken up? Sony might, but they got what they wanted, a broken up larry. I don't think they would be able to continue it then, because it's not in Louis best interest anymore (they hid behind that when they were together).

And Harry, what's his excuse for wearing that umbro shirt? He doesn’t need to keep his larrie fans. In fact if he got more fans thinking larry isn't real and that he's straight, he'd have to stunt less? Harry being able to finally do a proper denial of their relationship would be advantagous for him. He'd be able to do it now because it wouldn't be a lie.

People are allowed to have an opinion. But people, please sort your thoughts out. Do you believe that H and L broke up after trying to show fans that their relationship is real and are now gaslighting us into still believing, by what, yelling about chicken and calling us conspiracy theorists? If they broke up, but they both still want to signal that they're both gay to us fans, why conflate the two? When you sing i love him, i hate it and wear blue and green people will assume the "him" is Harry and not that you're trying to signal that you're gay? And when on earth did their label go from kill the larry rumours at any cost, give him a fake kid to finally kill it, to keep larriebaiting them even if you've broken up? And you think H and L would go along with that? Their teams coordinating with each other to make sure L wears that rose shirt and Harry wears that dagger looking shirt next? While being broken up?

At the end of the day it's all down to who you think H and L are as people and how far they're both willing to go to make money and advance their careers. It's about how much you think they both value integrity, truth, authenticity, kindness and sincerity. How much they respect their fans. And how greedy, egotistical and selfish you believe they are as people.

I absolutely think it sure as shit IS the same shirt, but the real question is much more complex, i.e., has that shirt been passed back and forth since that infamous backslide (my own headcanon, don't at me) moment? Has Louis worn it since then? Is it a souvenir to a happier time or a legitimately shared item worn by #husbands, #theyneverbrokeup? Because that last bit, the larr fandom cling part, I don't buy, Harry and Louis both told me (and anyone else who's listened to those last two albums in full with an open mind) that theirs is a messy, on/off thing, who's to say what the fuck is goin' on this week, lmao. The larr fan binary ipso facto of it all is just so boring and unexamined, to me, I mean--he's in songwriting mode, that shirt is a fucking STATEMENT, and I'm really curious to hear both the lyrics to come and the way they're gonna get spun

I read through your thoughts on Larry bait. I think your take is interesting and I can agree that the meaning fans give to things aren’t necessarily the same meaning Harry or Louis give to things and they might not care about fan meanings. In my opinion, sometimes they do things that seem like fan service. Like when Louis wore the giant H shirt. While it is possible that he paid no attention to the giant initial of the man some think he is secretly dating, it does seem rather unlikely that it didn’t cross his mind. There are many possibilities about why that particular shirt was worn and I can’t know what Louis intended.

If you don’t believe in the clues for fans, what makes you think they are together? The absence of a believable relationship with someone else and the belief they were together while in the band?

To be clear, I’m not fishing to be convinced about their relationship either way. I am most curious as to how you arrived at your conclusion based on the very limited information. I guess what I’m asking is how do you think through the situation and how do you consider possibilities? Which is not about Larry at all I guess, but rather an ask on learning how to think with more options of possibilities. Am I making any sense?

Thanks for this anon - it raises really interesting questions and I'll try and work through them.

I think the 'H' top is a really interesting example, because it is one of the few that I think is very unlikely to be a coincidence, because it was generally so bland and the occasion was so significant (it's possible that the shirt meant a lot to Louis for some other reason and he was like 'I know what people will think, but fuck it'. But its blandness makes that a long shot).

Louis wore the 'H' shirt in December 2020, at a time while Harry was away. It'd been a really strange and difficult year, and things were getting worse by the day. What bothers me about this line of arguing is that it centres fans rather than Louis in decisions Louis' life. If the 'H' is for Harry, I think Louis probably wore it because he's in love, and it was a really big thing and he wanted Harry. (Or maybe they'd had a fight it was all a way of communicating with each other - if you're starting point is about them rather than fans, then there are lots of options). When Louis and Harry do do things that are about their relationship, I think their relationship, and not fans are front and centre.

My whole objection to the 'baiting' framework is it puts the person who is claiming that they're being baited at the centre of not just their own universe - but everyone else's as well. "I am thinking or feeling something therefore that must have been someone's intention".

In terms of your other question - why do I think they're together? I've been pretty clear about this - way back in March 2016 I thought 'I'll continue to believe they're together until it becomes possible not to'. I didn't necessarily think that would be for long. I've set out when I'll change my mind several times and that's remained largely unchanged (a convincing relationship with someone else, Harry coming out in a way that is clear that he's not available as a fantasy boyfriend without Louis, it being logistically impossible for them to be in a relationship, some things they could say about each other).

There are specific things that made me think they were together over the last few years (The Umbro shirt, when Louis existed in time and space early in the pandemic etc.) And there are moments when I look at things that are ambiguous and think 'yes this means Larry is real'. Sometimes I feel things in ways that I wouldn't necessarily share, and certainly wouldn't argue with.

I think they're together, I know I might be wrong, I'm happy with that ambiguity. And when I get too worked up one way or another, I find it useful to acknowledge how little we actually know about celebrities lives, and how normal it is to be wrong about them.

Sorry I'm late replying to this, day has been hectic and I wanted to be focused. You probably won't see this now, bu anyway, here's my story... Hajshajsh.

I became a larrie on April 2021. It all started with me being mesmerized by Harry's Grammy's performance. I knew who he was, and admired him already, but wasn't a fan yet. Then my Instagram explore page started to be full of Harry videos on stage and I just loved his personality so much, didn't know he was such a goofball. Then there was a specific video someone reposted from obviouslyally's Tiktok, where they imitated Harry, and it was something like "a day in the life" and they mentioned Louis being his partner. And I was like, "wait..."

And so that began my descent into the Larry rabbit hole mostly on YouTube compilations. I didn't know who Louis was but immediately fell for him. I also immediately believed they DEFINITELY had something back during the band days, but wasn't convinced they still did. Then I watched the cosmicleeds timelines and started to suspect that maybe they did, but they only had timelines up to 2019 at that point. I remember thinking that some videos on any Larry compilation were dramatically slowed down or making you hear something... So I would always try to find the actual source and see for myself. I am super skeptical by nature and will always need the full picture if possible.

Then, I saw a Tiktok by obviouslyally mentioning the Umbro shirt and how it was one of a kind. I didn't know what the Umbro shirt was, so I googled, ended up on tumblr, read up on it and I couldn't believe it. In 2020?! In the middle of a pandemic?! I even tried debunking it, lol. I was like, "it cannot be ONE of a kind". Fair enough, I found it in 2 different websites but it was a rare one. So the chances of both of them getting the same exact fucking shirt, and ESPECIALLY Harry, who NEVER wears Umbro, were super slim. And that absolutely did it for me. I am definitely printing those two photos and framing them somewhere in my house at some point.

Then I found out about the Spotify covers. And yeah... Wtf, you know. Hajshaja. And well, their lyrics are also just so gross and ridiculous. Like, get a grip, you two. I'm kidding, annoy me with your cheesiness for the rest of your lives, please.

Learning about how stunts really work has been so eye-opening, it's insane. Babygate did take me a while to dig into. I did not talk about it, because I was avoiding doing the proper research, because I really couldn't believe that they would go that fucking far... But I also didn't believe L knocked up a random groupie and never got a pat test. I even believed that maybe there was some horrendous way they made him be the father of the baby without the actual intercourse. BUT THEN I DID MY RESEARCH, thanks to some amazing tumblr blogs, and yeah, fake shit.

AND NOW HERE I AM. Loving these two idiots with my whole heart, giving them all my support and listening to what they really have to say.
