Some alternatives from this Wraith post. I made the initiate's face clear at first, then decided to cover it. The idea of the Wraith's memories fading day by day is interesting, and I've been watching Frieren recently so I want to toy with them not being able to remember their loved one's face anymore.
Maybe that can explain why they're so obsessed with PC.
Maybe they did not see PC as the reincarnation of their loved one but as a filthy thief tainting their memory and their only possession.
Even they can't be sure if they recognize PC as their loved one or not. They said they were afraid they might be wrong if I remember from the game correctly. Sure, the Wraith can be gentle and loving, but only after a couple of Elk Comp encounters, after PC slowly gained their trust.
Anyway, there are too many things to discuss. I also wanted to link the green gemstone to the Wraith's necklace, too. The calming effect is sus...

"Tell her I am the White Toymaker. Tell her the White Prophet lives farther down the street, five doors down on the left."
I'm still messing with my design for him. I'm not yet done with The Assassin's Quest but I'm just so happy that he's roughly happy right now. I love his gay woolen hat. I wish for his future as much color as he can stand. I wish for his future for Fitz to finally pick up on the fact that he's flirting with him.
NOTE: I am not done with the series and I'm guessing a lot of people won't click this read more, so I'm just not gonna be looking at tags or reblogs lest someone tags it with like "man i love the fool can't believe he turned out to have an evil twin in the tawny man trilogy" or some shit. i dont take chances.

"Mona Lisa" of Nimrud, 9th to the 7th centuries BC
Excavated from the Assyrian city of Nimrud (In modern Ninawa in Iraq).
The Mona Lisa of Nimrud depicts a woman's head and the sculpture does not extend much below the chin. It has a band around the top and bottom with peg holes. She is wearing a headdress and her hair is arranged ornately.
The carved ivory piece of art discovered in the city of Nimrud in a campaign of excavation from 1949 to 1963, led by Sir Max Mallowan.
It is one of the most well known of the Nimrud ivories. It has also been known as the “Lady of the Well.” In contrast, another sculpture found with it was named "Ugly Sister."
When excavated, it was cleaned by Mallowan's wife Agatha Christie.

This has nothing to do with SW, I just felt like saying it:
I feel like a lot of us on this site probably could identify a specific book or series we read as children or teenagers that impacted us more than any other. It's the book/series that disproportionately shaped our senses of what a book or a genre could be and changed us in some fundamental way beyond the reach of every other book we were reading at the time. People joke these days about books or other media that "alter your brain chemistry," but this book honestly did feel like that.
Maybe this isn't everyone, but it was definitely something that happened to me as a kid. I still own the same copy of the book that did this for me. I've hung onto it for over 20 years, partly because I still love the story, and partly because I have such a strong sentimental attachment to my particular paperback copy of a book that blew open my sense of what a fantasy story could be and what ideas it could engage with.
It not only made me want to read the next book in its series, it made me want to write books myself and imagine my own worlds beyond my hobby of writing little sketches and stories for myself. I previously had no intention of showing those scraps to anyone else, but this book made me want to write fantasy seriously, to write things I might some day show other people without being embarrassed about it. And the book not only inspired me to want this, but convinced me I could do it. I started writing creatively in earnest and I never stopped.
It wasn't any of the books I usually talk about, either. Here's what it was for me:

[Photographs of a paperback copy of Diane Duane's High Wizardry from around 2001]
I've been thinking of what fantasy favorites I'll re-read after I drag myself through what remains of my dissertation and ... honestly, it will probably be High Wizardry.
