Holiday Cookie Detective Rounds 1 & 2 Results

🔎 The results are in! Who did YOU think got Eggnog Cookie lost in the forest? Getting 22.5% of the votes, many of you suggested that it was none other than Roguefort Cookie! Unfortunately, the rules have slightly changed since last year.

🔮 I contacted a close friend to aid Walnut Cookie in this case, who was also part of a special private investigation team for these kinds of situations regarding portly legends. In this case, that legend was the concept of Ginger Claus and his sudden disappearance. The two will be working in the background to uncover the truth this time, as there will be no “Someone’s Thoughts” this time despite detaining an innocent. Here is her report for this case.

“Despite my other duties to a resolute king and a family-owned lodge, I accepted this case on Walnut Cookie and Radish Raven Cookie’s request and made the necessary arrangements to ensure everything would operate smoothly under my absence. The first part of this case revolves around Eggnog Cookie being lured into the forest by one of these ten Cookies. After a background interrogation of the workers of his workshop and natural locals, here is what we uncovered.

Eggnog Cookie had received a letter from a very young Cookie that they had lost a precious mirror in the forest. Said letter had a picture of the mirror attached, which aided his search for it. Once in the forest, local dessert animals had helped him find the mirror in question. The shine that reflected off of it, possibly reflecting the moonlight, attracted Crowberry’s crow to the scene to snatch it. Eggnog’s attempt to reason and negotiate were futile, as he only saw the crow, not the Cookie. Upon realizing that the mirror was just a normal one, Crowberry left the mirror on the ground intact and flew off without letting Eggnog see a Cookie form at all. The mirror was successfully recovered on his behalf.

Unfortunately, his pursuit of Crowberry had taken him deeper into the forest than the local dessert animals would go. They did not follow him as far. The last traces of him that we recovered pointed to something being dragged from the middle of the mountains from where Crowberry left the area. This begs the second set of questions: How and why did Eggnog Cookie climb the mountain? Who moved him to the top of the mountain?

An interrogation of Roguefort Cookie, coupled with their temporary detention on the recommendation of our assistants, uncovered that they were not found in the village, nor the forest. Their whereabouts are unrelated to this case, but Roguefort Cookie was summoned due to past behaviors and actions. We find Roguefort Cookie innocent of any charges associated with their involvement of getting Eggnog Cookie lost in the forest, where they will be returned to the lineup. The culprit was determined by further evidence to be Crowberry Cookie, who will be held on the lineup for further interrogation by our assistants under supervision. A proper trial will be held on a later date. No further questions directed towards me will be answered until the investigation is over.

🚂 We’ve also got the results for Round 2 finalized. With 44.8% of the votes, Licorice Cookie was detained and found Guilty. We also have our field sleuth’s report on this part of the case.

“With the passing dusk, we further questioned the natural locals about the whereabouts of Eggnog Cookie after we determined that the item recovered from the part of the mountain pass where Crowberry Cookie departed was a patch of dark fabric. According to them, Poison Mushroom Cookie approached Eggnog Cookie in the dusk-lined forest with a mushroom that any learned sleuth, survivalist, alchemist, mage, or even a forest tour guide could conclude to be poisonous. Eggnog Cookie was well aware of it and ingested it anyway after insisting that he would, in substitute for a gift due to not bringing anything with him, grant young Poison Mushroom Cookie’s wish. That wish was to eat that same poisonous mushroom. Unsurprisingly, he fainted.

Also unsurprisingly, due to his primary ingredient being eggnog as determined by [an outside source ⚙️], his weight made it very difficult for Licorice Cookie to drag him away to hide him in fear of being scolded by Pomegranate Cookie for not watching Poison Mushroom Cookie closely enough to a point where they could wander off alone and find some “shroomies” to find and most likely eat with friends. During his attempt to hide Eggnog Cookie (who was in a coma caused by the mushroom he ate), Licorice Cookie got part of his robe stuck under Eggnog Cookie’s immense weight and ended up ripping part of his robe off in haste to save face in his supposed meeting with Pomegranate Cookie.

While we could chalk this part of the case down to minor mischief caused by the Cookies of Darkness, their total apprehension by all available forces would not be justified in this context despite mounting exterior evidence that would warrant their immediate apprehension. We find Licorice Cookie guilty of attempting to hide a would-be victim of voluntary poisoning. Future investigations with the possibility of detainments and sentencing of the Cookies of Darkness will commence at a later date. Licorice Cookie will be confined to the lineup for further interrogation by our assistants until further notice.

Unfortunately, the drag marks leading to the fabric indicate that Licorice Cookie only dragged him halfway up the mountain, and the next trace of evidence I found was a set of Eggnog Cookie’s footprints that lead to… a cliff?! How did he fall?! WHO made him fall?!

guys, i think the hermits are going to accidentally start a prank war again. because just like last time, a game of telephone has begun. first, false made iskall's build into ''false beans,'' her shop from the previous season. however, to give herself plausible deniability, she signs it with "love, Joel. x" due to his username, smallishbeans.

next, iskall sees this, and completely believes it. he thinks it was joel who pranked him, and as he says to pearl while showing off the sign, which he kept even after tearing the prank down, "joel gave me a kiss." in his most recent video, he pranks joel by sending him loads of anonymous messages in order to completely spam and fill his inbox, preventing him from getting any more mail, with notes such as "thinking about you. x"

of course, joel is going to have absolutely no context for this, because he didn't make the initial prank. so who is joel going to assume sent him all those messages while he was away on holiday? well, i have a guess.

I liked the idea of found family and Danny having role models he can look up to and learn from so I went with the first prompt:

Lost time (mentor/parental Clockwork + Danny), (all my prompts are kinda found family themed bc i love this scrunkly teen ghost getting adopted by increasingly weirder/more powerful beings); i love them interacting, hanging out and joking doing pranks.

Couldn't decide how to illustrate this relationship either so it turned into three moments when Danny appreciates having the master of time around. (Being saved in the nick of time) (Getting help with his history homework) (Finding that Clockwork has taken his time to ensure Danny gets a good night's sleep.)

Now onward to a new year. ^^
