Been thinking about this since I feel like Lusamine is one of the most dividing and controversial Pokemon characters due to her being rewritten in the immediate Sun/Moon remakes and how differently she's portayed in various Pokemon media in general.

(Belatedly) celebrating the one-year anniversary of the 'Destiny Bond' comic with a rare, fully-illustrated piece. A bit of extra context and rambly thoughts under the cut 🫶💖💕

A little over a year ago, I posted the first part of the Destiny Bond comic, originally intended to be a one-off doodle exploring the consequences of Morty's prophetic abilities on his relationship with Eusine.

That sketchy doodle of mine ended up being a whole narrative project spanning across a few months, before I eventually took a pause on it to focus on my mental health (having reached a low earlier in the year).

It was a daring enough project in and of itself, especially with how I had spontaneously taken it on when I was still recovering from a years-long burnout with 2D art. Though (temporarily) stopping sooner than I had hoped, I can confidently say that this little comic project of mine had helped to rekindle my love for drawing as a whole, and had further lead me to meeting some of the most wonderful people and friends in this small corner of the Pokémon fandom (whom also happen to be obsessed with these two silly guys from the GSC/HGSS games). It's a project I hold dearly to my heart, and one that I hope to revisit and continue once I feel ready to do so; as the story has yet to truly kick off (I'm not even joking we're still in the prologue technically I'm yelling /lh).

I hope to be able to share the rest of this story with you all one day, in whatever new form it'll take as. For now, I want to say thank you, from the deepest parts of my heart, for supporting this passion project of mine - and to assure you to tune in for the future of this title. 👀✨

One of my favorite things actually is when Alfonse pulls the player aside and is like "Let me think out loud real quick." and when the situation calls for it, "Also what do you think?" Like obviously this happens so much across any game ever, especially ones that have a designated partner character. But it feels so special to me...

Especially with Alfonse, especially when he calls the summoner by name. He didn't used to do that!! In the very beginning!!! And he slips up, as Lif. Trying So hard to take it back. It just feels so personal... 🥲🥺

*Destino approaches Vourison, taking a good, long look at him.*

Destino: Buddy, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but tattoos are so last season. I mean, light blue upon your complexion? It's not a combination that works for me and it certainly doesn't do you any favours. Perhaps try covering them up. The dark look suits the grouchy style you're trying too hard to go for. It's like you want Pokémon to hate you as soon as they approach you. Now, take me for example. White fur with grey mixed in. Combining that with my natural blue colouring and you have yourself a Pokémon that anyone would want to talk to. Perfection if you ask me.

“Where did this even come from?” Vourison questioned, genuinely more confused and incredulous then he was upset. “I’ve literally never seen you before in my life. Why are you here. This isn't even about the comments, I’ve had insults a thousand times worse hurled at me, but genuinely, why are you even here? Why would you ever come here, to this sacred place of healing for those cast out by their own corrupt gods based on, most often then not, their unusual looks causing those gods to deem them ‘unfit’ or ‘wrong’, just to insult me?”

“Look, if you’re just here to insult me fine, whatever, but if you plan on insulting everyone you meet then I cannot allow you into this place further. Many who live here have been through enough without some random Absol waltzing in like they own the place just to insult them when they finally feel safe. I will not allow my people to be harassed by any hostile outsiders.”

“Therefore I am going to have to ask you to leave-” “DO ME NEXT.” 

“Janus. Why.” Vourison grouched with the most unamused voice he could muster.

“Because this is hilarious, I want to be insulted too!” The Chi-Yu explained, twirling in the air, “Besides, this one isn’t hostile, at least not truly. And even if they were, they’re not very strong compared to us.” They said to Vourison before floating down to Destino, voice becoming strangely giddy and excited.

“Listen, listen, listen, do you know how fucking funny this will be? If you insult me? It’ll be great I promise, please please please this is the one thing I need, it’ll be so funny when I tell the others. If you know even one thing about my species you’ll probably know why but even if not it’ll be great.” Janus half rambled as they swam circles around Destino. Vourison watched with a slightly wary eye. He wasn’t too fond of this Absol, but he trusted Janus’ judgment. Though their sense of humour often evaded him. He would tolerate Destino for the moment.

I’m just gonna assume you don’t know the basic world building, so it’s practically just: God is real and the world was created according to the Bible, there’s a Heaven and hell, the people on earth go to heaven or hell depending on whether they’ve sinned or not

Sins can range from drug abuse to mass murders, that kinda stuff. It also doesn’t even matter you’re age or if you know what you’re doing, cause there’s children cannibals in hell

There’s a hierarchy in Hell, it goes from

Lucifer

Lilith and Charlie (Lucifer and Lilith daughter)

7 Deadly Sins

Ars Goetia

Overlords

Sinners (people who sinned and went to hell)

Hellborn

Imps and Hellhounds (also Hellborn, but they’re ranked lower cause they’re look at like the rats of Hell)

Overlords are also sinners, they just hold more power and control compared to the regular sinner. So far there’s known to be 9 overlords so it’s a rare title

One last thing to mention, since there is an overpopulation in Hell, Heaven sends down Exorcist Angels once a year to kill off any Sinners to reduce the population. They’re only allowed to go after sinners and overlords, no one else

Anyways, the basic plot of the show is Charlie, The Princess of Hell, is trying to redeem sinners so that they’re allowed into Heaven cause she doesn’t want to see anymore sinners being killed during the yearly extermination. Like the whole idea is that even the worst people can change their ways and redeem themselves

So my idea was like, what if the Champions all died somehow and got sent to either Heaven or Hell? Or they all got sent to hell for something mediocre

Cause imagine the possibilities of what they look like, or what their sins are, even if they stay as sinners or they rise the ranks to overlords. I can see Lance or Diantha becoming an overlord and using that power to keep themselves and Iris safe from Hell (forgot the ship name famiily supremacy 🔥🔥) cause there is an overlord with two daughters in the show

I can see Lance going to Hell for killing some people cause of his job, even if it’s by accident. Cause there were three Cherubs who were kicked out of Heaven for causing the death of a human, even if it was also an accident. And idk what his new form would be

For the other Champions, I got no clue why they would also go to hell. Either we’d have to reach far to pull out something to use, or give them all a shitty quality. Like, idk, Wallace stealing money from the League fundings

As for their new forms, I can only think of Dianthawho would resemble a Houndoom, or have Houndoom like features. The reason is cause their hell forms are meant to be mocking them for all eternity. So her new form would be mocking Diantha of one of her biggest fears

Like, I want this man to be a bit greedy when it comes to rare stones, didn't help his father also has the same interest too, I know Joseph taught him that sometimes the rarest and grandest gems are hidden within the tombs of the dead. The amount of Ghost pokemon he has to battle to get those gems was insane man. Also, imagine him like,, deadass just dissecting Sableye to get the gems they have. Imagine if his form in hell is smth similar to Sableye bc of that

Cynthia I'm also not sure bc the Cynthia I have in mind is the villain au one lmfaooo but like,, if we go w the fucked up villain au qualities I'm gon say she's a stalker lmfao, like, legitimately so fucking obsessed w Diantha, if Giratina is in this au imagine Cynthia still making a deal w him.
