meet Echo! my new Eclipse OC! she used to be a performer on a luxury cruise ship (and this was one of her outfits!) but now she works as the front desk/security at an office building. a free-spirited bot with the confidence to boot, she lives life on her own terms—to the fullest.

some other facts about her:

she stands at 8'5" (same height as Clip! i realize this is my default Eclipse height haha)

her voice claim: HWASA Don't: "I don't care who you are, don't make me cry. I don't care who you are. I don't care who you are, don't make me lie."

however, there are moments when she sings that a second voice seeps in to harmonize: Whee In Watercolour: "I'm gonna raise me up, I want more colours for me. Now, just pick anything, ah!"

her "hair" is made up of wires that she plugs into the back of her faceplate! she changes them up often.

she hates it when people touch her hair, partly because they get tangled and partly from a bad past experience

she loves eating and can handle a lot of spice

she dates around, she finds humans entertaining, especially when they can pay for her meal

You know, a criticism of FE's presentation that's been sitting in my mind for a while is that for a series whose storytelling is mostly presented in a visual novel style, the characters tend to not be as expressive as they should.

The old games only had one neutral expression for characters (although given the size limitations, this was acceptable), the GBA and Tellius games only had a few extra expressions for main characters if they were lucky, and the DS games... Well, they're the DS games.

The 3DS games had the best story presentation imo, with all characters finally having multiple expressions (although I personally wish they were even *more* expressive) but, and this is the point i'm getting at, they only have one pose and I feel that's a huge waste that could have given characters even more presence.

Imagine Owain having multiple Jojo poses and drop them the few moments he gets serious, Robin and Grima having completely different stances even if they have the same body, Corrin physically sobbing during their several trauma conga lines, or seeing Celica lose her shit!

Sure, you could argue the ingame cutscenes kinda do that job but, come on. The 3DS models look like crap up close and most of the time they're just standing around talking.

In my opinion the Switch games took a step back, relying mainly on the ingame models (which definitely look better than on 3DS but have the same problem of not much going on but unlike on the older games you can't fill the gaps), the Fòdlan titles only using face sprites and Engage completely replacing sprites with 3D models, and both of those really struggle showing expressions from what I've seen.

I guess my ultimate point is, I wish Fire Emblem leaned into the visual novel storytelling more with dynamic sprites, slightly more exaggerated expressions and other tools to give the scenes the extra impact they need.

Or just have more dynamic ingame cutscenes, at least.

:O a fun outing!!!!! there are so many cool different types of lavender i never knew... and not all of them are purple! i only thought lavender came in. well. lavender so seeing different colors is really cool...i especially like the hidcote pink and munstead, very pretty! i am running through the fields and picking flowers if they would let me pick flowers if they don't i am admiring their beauty without taking anything ^^ you're right actually i would love to try lavender ice cream! and i also wanna try lavender honey and lavender jam, they sound very floral and sweet, very nice c: i should find some for myself soon in like a farmers market or something i wanna try it irl... hmmm....from the gift shop i would like the lavender body mists, incense, lip balm, & bath salts. ok maybe not the bath salts actually ^^' i don't trust myself not to eat them. vietnam flashbacks. and also the lavender sleep pillow for the same reason i'd like the plushie (seems cuddly and would help me sleep) and finally maybe some lavender seeds so i could grow my own lavender! thank you for taking me this day was so fun, at the end of the day i reveal i have taken some lavender flowers and weaved them into a flower crown for you and i put it on your head. i love you. i also took the plushie and she had so much fun, here are two pictures i drew of her enjoying the day out ^^

ive said this before but so much of what Retvrn Freaks glorify in early modern european art are just components inherent to the mediums being used at the time as opposed to like. an example of heightened skill that has been supposedly Lost in these degenerate times.... oil paint just looks like that. its very tonal and rich and even an artist with mediocre rendering skills will have their rendering skills improved by painting in oil. old oil paintings took years to complete not because the artists doing them were very skilled but because oil takes months to dry and they built up subtle washes over dried paint. tracing was also commonly utilized during that time period, and artists also often had small armies of apprentices who would do the hard work for them with no credit. these huge highly tonal oil paintings become significantly less impressive when you actually learn about their context.
