Used my epic hacker skillz to put Murtlepaw in clangen just to do 4 moons to make sure Honeystar wasn't going to die before they became a warrior and now that save is retired 4 good goodbye sweet prince
#rat rambles#idk I might pick it back up for the bit at some point but from here on out its just the static setdressing for my brain to play with#also I accidentally made it so murtlepaw was stilled named murtlepaw as a warrior and yknow what. its canon now its a cute name idc#bestie was just like hey I know you just did this whole party to change my name but I kinda hate it can I just keep the paw bit#and honeystar was like huh. nobody has ever asked for that before. well I dont see why not I guess??#but yeah tomorrow Im gonna do the 4 moons of passed time for everyone else to see if anyone explodes or smth#well ok maybe not everyone since I wanna document their current stats first and thats gonna take a while since theres a Lot of cats#but I do wanna at least figure out who else I want to be relevant#I know in mink clan I want one of the firestar kids to be relevant since. 3 of their siblings died right in front of them recently#the 5 of them went out on a fun apprentice outing but got jumped and 3 of them died#and soon after the old leader ratstar also died leaving the kids mom firenip to become leader right as murtlepaw is joining elm clan#I think that could be a fun way to start some more cross clan drama and I think having one or both of the kids befriend murtlepaw would fit#nicely with the general themes of the story I have in my head so far#Im also considering including the new mediator of eagle clan since he has mommy issues and by that I mean his mom is pushing him to ruin#the relationship of the current leader and deputy#but he also might be a bit too old to land a main main character spot but he'll be important either way#and crag clan sure exists idk Ill figure smth out#I finally killed their old leader tho I hated that old man sooooo much#I had initially given him a bloodthirsty deputy for the drama but then she died and he chose the random kittypet they picked up a few moons#ago to be deputy so hey daisystar it is then Im not complaining I like him hes cute#+ he was in fact a good mentor and is quite experienced while still being relatively young so all in all not a bad choice#his deputy choice was a bit questionable tho since the cat he chose was rly young#but they technically had trained an apprentice so. sure.#in my minds eye he chose them because they were his old apprentice and as a result the only warrior he has a lot of faith in#mostly cause thats who hes spent the most time with#anyways I need to sleep now gn

February Release is out!!
Content:
New herb system! In expanded mode, your medicine cats will gather herbs and treat illnesses and injuries, reducing lethality, duration, and potential risks. Information about your current herb stores, sick/injured cats, and a log of medicine cat activity can be found in the new medicine den, accessible via the medicine cat den label on the clan screen or the matching button on medicine cat's and injured/sick cat's profiles
Mediator role has been added! The mediator is an optional role. Once a moon, you can choose to "mediate" between two clanmates, increasing relationship values. Or, if you would rather sow discord, you can sabotage the relationship, lowering relationship values. Mediators also have a chance to visit other clans upon timeskip, affecting reputation values. Mediators can take apprentices, apprentices will only choose to become mediators if there is already a fully-trained mediator in the clan. In settings, you may allow warriors and elders to choose to become mediators upon timeskip.
New pelt patterns: Mackerel, Classic, Sokoke, Agouti, and SingleStripe
New White patches: Seal, mink, and sepia point.
New colors: Black has been renamed to ghost, and new black has been added.
Heterochromia is now possible with all eye colors.
New eye colors: Gray, Copper, Sage, Pale Yellow, Pale Blue, New Blue, Gold, Heather Blue, Cyan, Emerald, Sunlit Ice, and Green Yellow. Dark Blue and Hazel have been tweaked.
Tints! Cats can now be slightly tinted, to give some variety to cat colors. Tints do not affect white patches, scars, or eye color.
Redone shaders.
You can now view lost or exiled dead cats under the "Unknown Residence" sub-tab.
Many, many new herb patrols, unique to each biome. New patrols involving a fox, new training patrols, and new cat-joining patrols. And we mean… many. Like over 1000 in total.
Some new ceremony text.
You can now retire warriors, medicine cats, mediators, deputies, and leaders. You can also demote a leader to warrior status.
Many new thoughts!
New pelt color, pattern, pelt length and white patches inheritance system. Note that this is not a completely realistic genetics system, it’s just meant to give kits more of a chance to look similar to their parents!
Quality of Life:
You can now sort your cats by rank, age, or ID!
New role management screen, with summaries and icons for each role (some icons are still placeholders)
You can now disable first-cousin romance in settings.
Timeskip events now link to the involved cats.
Patrols now have a short summary of outcomes at completion.
Fullscreen mode added
Made sure splines are properly reticulated
Your currently loaded clan no longer shows up on the switch clan list.
Patrolled cats are now saved.
Many bug fixes!

Tumblr media
Moonstar (claw) + Leader
- He's the leader of Fallenclan, he is known to be loyal and a kind-hearted cat that will go out his way to protect his clanmates with his life, Moonstar is currently in love with his deputy Mudspeckle but both are not mates yet.
Mudespeckle + Deputy
- He is an old faithful cowboy that loves to joke around and having fun, mostly try to impress his crush Moonstar, both have a healthy relationship together but aren't mates yet due to duties or whatnot
Icegaze + Medicine Cat
Icegaze is very optimistic and loves to teach every cat around with his knowledge of herbs. He is also the former mentor of Thornwhisker, he adores his apprentice because he sees him as his own son. Icegaze and his apprentice are devoted to their duties, curing their clanmates and overall stumbling upon new stuff on the beach. Icegaze also has feelings for a warrior named Rosyflight, whom reciprocates and both likes to flirt when they are alone.
Thornwhisker + Medicine Cat
This stinky kitty is very grumpy and cold towards to other cats beside his mentor, Thornwhisker likes alone time along with enjoying practising fighting moves. He is also, not known to his mentor, is seeing Rosyflight! Both loves to joke around and having a stroll together, especially playing pranks.
Rosyflight + Warrior
She is considered to be a good fighter with great experience and skills, Rosyflight is known to be wise with words as she is really persuasive which she uses to get what she wanted, yet she isn't mean or anything like that. Rosyflight enjoys sunbathing and having out with Cloverbeam, and her other ideal of fun is flirting with not only Icegaze but also Thornwhisker.

Cloverbeam is very loving and is good at hunting which she spends half of her time with a hunting patrol, or playing with pebbles. She is Nightshades mate, they are childhood sweethearts and are very much still in love.

Dandelionclan’s high ranks at the end of Year 4. Left to right we have: Anisefur (healer, molly) isn’t doing well since her warning from Tawnybracken. Despite being an experienced healer, she had never actually had a religious experience. She’s terrified of what the prophecy could mean and has pushed Dandelionclan to make some... choices. We’ll go over those later.
Quailstar (leader, molly) also isn’t doing so great. Her mate and deputy, Crestdapple, died at the very beginning of the year. She went through another deputy before we get to the current one due to Anisefur’s advice. For the most part, she’s just... desperately depressed. She’s even considering retiring.
Whisperleaf (healer, molly) is doing pretty well, actually. I’ve been trying desperately to get her into a romantic relationship because kits, but she refuses to develop a crush, so ace Whisperleaf, maybe?
Whitebird (deputy, tom) did not expect to be made deputy ever, but he’s doing his best in the role. He’s not particularly young, so he has no idea why Quailstar picked him after the previous deputy. His feelings of friendship towards Palebreeze have developed into something more, but he has no idea how to tell him.
Fallingarch (healer, molly) has gained more confidence as Anisefur has broken down. She’s kind of stepped into the lead healer’s position and is thriving. She’s also got a crush on half the clan, which half the clan returns. Somehow, sweet little Fallingarch is clan heart throb.

The Steambird - A Recap Spanning Roughly 10 Days!
Kaeya is still stuck on the mountain freezing to death with lisa. But hey, at least now diluc finally got to dragonspine after like.. two weeks. They are now finally descending down the mountain. Kaeya is still freezing to death.
Alas! Winery Owner Finally Manages to Make it up the Mountain to Save his Adopted Brother!
Kaeya Alberich, the Knights of Favonius’ Cavalry Captain, being still stuck on Dragonspine with Lisa Minci ultimately freezing to death with his Knights of Favonius colleague, is finally getting down the mountain!
Diluc Ragvindr finally made it up to rescue the two KoF members. He is now descending down the mountain with his adoptive brother in arms and the librarian trailing behind him as they rush towards the camp near the base of the mountain.
Kaeya, however, appears to be in quite the serious condition.
Will Kaeya pass from hypothermia? Or will Ragvindr and Minci be able to rescue the Cavalry Captain?
Everybody here at the Steambird waits in anticipation of the results. We hope Kaeya will make it out alive!!
Diluc still hates the fatui and continues to squabble with UTA.
Esteemed Dawn Winery Owner.. Continues to Squabble with Fatui Harbinger Clone as Would a Cranky Old Married Couple.
That’s it. That’s the story.
Kaveh gets confronted on having not taken care of himself as of late and anons scold him and attempt to make him take care of himself more
He is currently opting to hide out in a ruin for the next century like how madame faruzan accidentally got stuck in a ruin for 100 years.
Anon threatens to call his friends TIghnari- a forest ranger, Cyno- the general Mahamatra, and Scribe Alhaitham. (which I continue to believe is entangled in some affair with the architect!)
Famed Ksharewar Architect Accused of not Taking Care of Himself.. and Being in a Relationship with the Former Acting Grand Sage of the Akedemiya?!
Kaveh, a famous architect from the Darshan of Ksharewar, was called out by an anonymous user for having not properly cared for himself!
In an ask, an anon questions him with a truth or dare question.. but regardless skips all casualties and asks a question anyway. Specifically asking how many hours the Architect has slept this week.
Kaveh reluctantly answers by counting off of his fingers.. and ending up with less than even a whole hand with fingers up.(Meaning that he’s slept for less that five hours.)
The anon then gives him a dare: go to sleep.
Kaveh instantly denies his lack of sleep and argues against the not so accusation, protesting that he for one has no eye bags and is perfectly sane and has projects to finish nonetheless.
The anon threatens to call the former Acting Grand Sage, Alhaitham, to which Kaveh is flabbergasted and demands to ask why Alhaitham of all peo
Nobody seems to believe that one though.
After some back and forth and a few threats of calling the Architects friends(the General Mahamatra, Forest Ranger Tighnari, and of course, the Former Acting Grand Sage/Akedemiya’s scribe, Alhaitham), Kaveh admits that if he must go into hiding, he says he’s thinking of going to go hide out in a ruin for the next century.
(much like how Madame Faruzan, Senior in Haravatat was stuck in a ruin for a century solving puzzles.)
Madame Faruzan pops in to ask what’s going on and Kaveh asks her to help him out.
..nevermind the anons wasted no time telling her his lack of self care.
Arataki Itto, leader of the Arataki gang, is once again scolded by his colleagues, Kuki Shinobu, the deputy leader, and Takuya the blue oni, the.. Uh.. other member. This time being for having a poster of his face plastered on a billboard in Ritou. Which, without a permit, is pretty illegal. So Kuki Shinobu tries to reprimand Itto by telling him to go take it down, but he denies saying it was his pet bull, Ushi, who put up the poster. Takuya ended up taking it down anyway.
Arataki Gang Leader Illegally Decorates Ritou Billboard.. What? What do you Mean it was his Cow?
Arataki Itto, leader of the Arataki Gang, was questioned by Arataki Gang deputy, Kuki Shinobu, of why there was a poster on a billboard in Ritou with a scrawl of Itto’s face posted illegally.
Friends of Arataki Itto, both Takuya the Blue Oni and Kuki Shinobu, question why the seemingly self portrait is up on the billboard without a permit.
Itto pops into the discussion and when the two demand for answers, he frantically blames it on Ushi. Which, despite the headline, is actually a bull.
That’s right. Arataki Itto blamed an illegal act of posting something on a billboard without a permit on the poor bull as tall as his knee.
Naturally Takuya and Kuki Shinobu did not believe his protests.
Itto flees the scene and Takuya chases after Itto.
Takuya later caves and takes the poster down himself.
Hat Guy of Vahumana learns to break out of his shell and befriends a child named Malak and now they have matching hats! How cute.
Hat Guy Softens Up for the like.. Third Time in Genshin-Official History
There’s not a lot to cover, but essentially, a small child who lives in the Birmastan steals Hat Guys hat and after returns it. The two then become friends of sort and after a recommendation from Lesser Lord Kusanali, Hat Guy takes the child, then revealed to be named Malak, to the Grand Bazaar.
Malak now has a hat.
The two now match.
Isn’t that cute?
Bennett, an adventurer notorious for being incredibly unlucky, lost his boots. Chief Alchemist Albedo and popular bartender Diona of the Cat’s Tail report that they saw them at the gates of the city.
Unlucky Adventurer Somehow Loses His Boots. Like, the Ones he was Probably Wearing. How Does That Happen?
Bennett, an adventurer from Mondstadt notorious for being incredibly unlucky but nonetheless cheerful and pleasant overall, lost his boots.
When? A few days ago. How? No idea. Where? Dunno. Where were they(the boots) found? Well, Bartender Diona, while apparently gathering dandelions near the city gate to make her next big concoction, spotted the boots near the city gates.
Albedo also says he saw the boots by the city gates.
How did the boots even get there in the first place?
I suppose only Celestia has the answer to that one..
Nameless bard confesses to having placed flowers around the City of Mondstadt. While it did look nice temporarily, it wasn't very great to clean up afterward. Diona expressed her displeasure at having to clean up after her boss, Margaret, owner of the Cat’s Tail, made her clean it up. She reluctantly forgave the bard anyway and moved on with her day.
Ghost from Mondstadt Revolution Confesses to Placing Flowers Around Mond City. Here’s the Aftereffects.
Nameless Bard, a ghost from the Mondstadt revolution who is notorious for belting out sick comebacks, admitted to encouraging the children of Mondstadt to go spreading flowers all over the City.
He did this after another very alive bard, Venti, came out to make sure nobody assumed he encouraged the children of this.
Adventurer Bennett was rather surprised that people were unhappy about the array of flowers all around the city and thought to himself that the flowers had looked nice.
Sister Barbara of the Mondstadt Cathedral and popular idol didn’t really mind the flowers and laughed it off.
Diona of the Cats Tail on the other hand was rather upset because apparently owner of the cats tail, Margaret, had made her clean up the flowers around the tavern.
She shortly after waves it off though.
Arataki Itto tries to eat Sangonomiya Kokomi, the Divine Priestess or Watatsumi Island’s fish friends. Much to her horror.
Gang Leader Itto Eats Fish. Watatsumi Island Head Priestess is Appalled.
Sangonomiya Kokomi, the head priestess of Watatsumi Island, had quipped about how cute and fascinating fish are.
Arataki Itto, leader of the Arataki Gang.. being Arataki Itto, leader of the Arataki Gang, said and I quote, “Fish, Nomnomnomnomnomnomnom”
Sangonomiya Kokomi was appalled and cried out for him to stop since she sees the fish like her children. She said, “fish are friends, not food.”
Zhongli from Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, agrees with the Divine Priestess, saying that fish are not food.
Arataki Itto, for once, makes a good argument and gives the example that a dish such as Squirrel Fish exists and that fish are indeed food.
Zhongli starts talking about fish texture and Itto becomes utterly confused.
To this day, he still remains confused.
Chief Alchemist Albedo officially sets out for Sumeru and unexpectedly, Bartender Diona tags along.
Mondstadt Chief Alchemist Officially Sets out for Sumeru.. And Takes a Cat With Him.
Albedo, Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius, officially sets on a journey for Sumeru.
Probably for Nilou, esteemed dancer from Zubayr Theater,’s picnic.
This picnic was announced about a month ago and people from Fontaine to Mondstadt will be attending. It seems like quite the event.
While Albedo announces he’ll be going, Bartender Diona from the Cats Tail, practically clings onto his leg, demanding to come with him.
She apparently is sick of her job and wants to get out of Mondstadt.
Albedo let’s her come with him, and the next morning they set out for Liyue, a pit stop they will stop at before heading into Sumeru.

Motivations of Dark Forest Trainees -- Planning
So I'm going to flesh out the Dark Forest and its inhabitants. First I need to compile a list of everyone who trained in the Dark Forest, and a brief summary of their motivations.
So if you guys have any input, weigh in!
First though-- Removals and Openings
Birchfall is not going to train in the Dark Forest. He's being changed to Dovewing's mentor, and a source of comfort to her as opposed to her father Lionblaze. He has too much going on.
Larkwing is also being removed. Sedgewhisker was very young and there’s no need for her to have kittens when she’s barely 2 years old, let alone have that kitten in Dark Forest training.
There were 18 DF trainees without Birch. 4 River, 3 Shadow, 4 Thunder, and 7 Wind. I'm willing to bump that number up to an even 20. Maybe even more if there’s some enticing ideas.
So far there are 18 trainees on this list; that makes 2 open spaces.
The Trainees so Far
WindClan
Breezepelt, naturally Motivation: Neglected and abused by father, mother attempted to assassinate Onewhisker. Sees The Three as a symbol of Crowfeather hating him and being heirs of destiny. Changes: Apprentice is now Furzepaw, not Boulderpaw, and he encouraged Furze to train in the Dark Forest with him. Kills Firestar in early OotS.
Harespring Motivation: The pressure StarClan put on his brother Kestrelflight made him think that it can't be all that good... so maybe the Dark Forest isn't as bad? Plus, he would like to meet Mudclaw, and was an old friend of Breezepelt. Changes: Apprentice is now Boulderpaw, who he never got involved in his Dark Forest training.
Furzepelt Motivation: Breezepelt encouraged her to join him. Changes: Grows very close to Antpelt and Sunstrike, becomes mates with Sunstrike (sapphic)
Antpelt Motivation: Old friend of Breezepelt Changes: It was not known that Ivypool killing him as a spirit would kill him forever. It came as a shock to everyone-- and it's how the DF cats learned that spirits can be killed by the living. Spirits can't kill other spirits. This situation makes Ivypool blame herself for his death.
Sunstrike Motivation: Dissatisfaction with Onestar; possibly thinks Breezepelt would be a better leader because her parents were hurt in a battle that was lost. Changes: Surviving instead of Whiskernose (because i like her more), disabled after the battle.
Whiskernose Motivation: Xenophobia, ambition. Feels Onestar is weak like Tallstar before him. Changes: Dying instead of Sunstrike (because i like him less), helps to start the fire in ThunderClan to make an opening for Thornclaw and Breezepelt to kill Firestar. One of the older trainees.
RiverClan
Minnowtail Motivation: HalfClan relationship with Mousewhisker, gets recruited by Cloudberry and Ryewhisker. Changes: Going to lean in more to Minnow and Mouse having a secret relationship. Mouse eventually moves to RiverClan in TBC or ASC.
Icewing Motivation: Curiosity, influence from mother Skyheart. Knew that Mistystar lied about how Leopardstar died in BB!TNP, but only found out this way that she was murdered. Gets hooked after this, realizing that the training could give her power. If Mistystar murdered Leopardstar... what does that say about her fitness to rule? Might want to become deputy. Changes: Needs to be clearer that she's Beetlewhisker's mother. I would like her to do more, generally. Mate, Mintflower, was a Tribe cat. Sedgecreek, current deputy, narrowly survives a dangerous situation and decides to retire; that was definitely part of a DF plot.
Beetlewhisker Motivation: Supporting Icewing Changes: Brokenstar is no longer part of the Dark Forest, so someone else will kill him. Probably Thistleclaw.
Lizardtail Motivation: Bullied by Mossyfoot (apprentice of Minnowtail) and Troutstream. Changes: Becomes Hallowflight as an honor title after swimming across the lake and running another mile to get help, betraying the Dark Forest.
ShadowClan (I actually like that it's the least represented Clan for once so I'm not looking to add any cats here)
Applefur Motivation: Jealousy of Marshwing, desire to be a ferocious warrior. Changes: Will probably kill Brackenfur. Generally beefed up.
Redwillow Motivation: ??? (Seems aggressive; true believer?) Changes: Change mentor to Applefur?
Ratscar Motivation: ??? (I'm thinking dissatisfaction with Blackstar's rule) Changes: Ratscar raised his sister Snowbird after their parents died. An adult warrior during the WindClan Massacre, he's the oldest trainee and this should be noted.
ThunderClan
Ivypool Motivation: Pushed there by Lionblaze. Eventually has her jealousy and alienation from Dovewing exploited. Changes: Daughter of Lionblaze now. Waking-world mentor is Brightheart. Dark Forest mentor is Hawkfrost, who has a redemption arc.
Blossomfall Motivation: Jealousy over Briarlight, dissatisfaction with Bramblestar Changes: Graystripe needs to be more involved as one of the reasons Blossomfall is training here.
Thornclaw Motivation: Secret supporter of Thistle Law. Wants power. Changes: Deputy of ThunderClan under Bramblestar. Was in on the plot to kill Firestar and was probably aware of the plot to eliminate Brackenfur. Dies in the Great Battle and goes to the Dark Forest in death.
Mousewhisker Motivation: Wants to be stronger... but also likes the chance to hang out with Minnowtail. Changes: His waking world mentor is Iceheart, the cat who was once Scourge.
Spiderleg Motivation: Training with his mentor, Thornclaw. A Thistle Law supporter who regrets his time with Daisy and seeking to make ThunderClan strong again. Changes: He comes extremely close to killing his son Toadstep in the Great Battle, and regrets his time here deeply.
These cats need to have perceived grievances with their Clans, which Tigerstar and his group are trying to help them achieve. The Dark Forest will actually be getting a plan in this redux; they are putting their trainees in power by trying to kill their rivals and Clan leadership.
The Dark Forest spirits will also be getting their own motivations, which Tigerstar had to consider while he was coalition building.

Gannetstar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
more info below, potential spoiler warning! I use these character bios as a way to keep track of my SplashClan game which means that all the information is up to date with the current in-game events, not where I left off with the youtube series
Gannet was a rogue who was taken in and raised by an older cat named Mint after the death of her mother. They both decided to join the clans and Gannettalon was later chosen to become the leader of SplashClan, thanks to Mintshade’s guidance and teachings of self-preservation above all else. Leadership proved to be a challenging task for Gannetstar which led them into feeling lost.
To prove themselves, she became involved with a long-lasting conflict with HazeClan. The loss of her children, strained relationships with their clanmates, and pursuit of power took a toll on not just Gannetstar’s leadership, but their mind. Gannetstar’s time as leader was marked by war, the deaths of her family, the mistreatment of their own apprentices, and their own transformation into a ruthless and manipulative leader. Gannetstar ultimately died and joined the dark forest to scheme against the clans.

Detailed Biography
Gannet was born as a rogue but doesn’t remember much from her early life, though they’re unsure if that’s because of how young she was of if she had unknowingly blocked the traumatic memories out. When Gannet was only a few months old, her mother died, leaving her all alone. She nearly died of starvation before she was found and rescued by an older rogue named Mint. Mint took her in and from then on raised them as if she was her own kit. Throughout Gannet’s life, Mint trained them to survive just as she had under the philosophy that “no other cats matter, protect yourself and only yourself.”
Years later, after Gannet had already grown up, the two continued to live together for protection. Though they were better off together, things still weren’t perfect and winters were always harsh. During one winter they discovered the clan cats and decided to stick around for protection and easier food. As time passed they relalized that there was a clear leader for each of the four clans except for one, SplashClan. Mint and Gannet decided to step up, deciding to permanently join the clans as Mintshade and Gannettalon in hopes that they could take leadership of SplashClan themselves. Eventually, Mintshade’s age got the better of her and she stepped down to become an elder, advising Gannettalon from the side in order to have the best chance to become leader.
Eventually, the BloodClan-affiliated rogues were chased out and with Rootmask’s dying words he chose the new leaders of the four clans; Tawnystar of DeadClan, Curlstar of HeatherClan, Amberstar of HazeClan, and Gannetstar of SplashClan. Gannetstar went on to receive her nine lives, one of which being from Mintshade herself for “leadership through the darkest times.” They later elected Brackenshade as their deputy as he was a young but fierce and abrasive cat who would grant her the approval of her clanmates. He was also picked with a darker motive in mind, at the time he was the youngest warrior in the clan and clearly respected Gannetstar's judgement and authority as leader, meaning he wouldn't oppose her. Desperate for more approval from their clanmates, Gannetstar gave themselves an apprentice so she could appear as a responsible, rule-following leader. Sagepaw was the apprentice she chose but they didn’t do much work in training him aside from what was required of her due to her lack of care and how overwhelmed they were as leader initially.
Gannetstar had only gotten where she was because of Mintshade’s guidance and without her, they felt as though they had no idea what they were doing. Many times they tried to reach out to StarClan to talk to Mintshade but she was cut off from StarClan due to them disaproving of her as leader. Gannetstar questioned her ability to lead the clan and needed something to prove her worth not only to her clanmates, but to herself. This eventually came in the long-running conflict between SplashClan and HazeClan. It started out small, as nothing more than a prey and border dispute but Amberstar’s anger towards the situation frustrated Gannetstar. She couldn’t understand the HazeClan leader’s anger and she felt the urge to take the situation into their own paws, killing Amberstar herself. Of course, this never ended up happening as she was too desperate to prove herself and gain the approval of her clan.
Thunderisle and her own apprentice, Sagepeak were made warriors however later this same month he died while out on patrol and ultimately Gannetstar never realized how much he wanted her to notice him. It was during this time when they met Striker, a rogue who had belonged to one of the BloodClan-affiliated rogue groups that had been occupying the clan territories before. She fell in love with Striker and the two began to secretly meet at SplashClan’s border. As time passed between them however, Gannetstar grew continuously bored of Striker as she found something more entertaining. In their dreams, Gannetstar began to visit the dark forest and would continue to train there throughout her life.
In the end, Gannetstar found out they were expecting kits and cut off her relationship with Striker, abandoning him and telling him to never come back. Though she was excited to have kits, they didn’t like the idea of having to care for them for very long, hoping she could apprentice them at four months instead of six. Thankfully though, Brackenshade told her not to do that. Eventually, Gannetstar’s three kits were born, Tornkit, Icykit, and Jellyfishkit. She loved her kits but it was clear from the beginning that they were going to pick favorites. She spent more time with Jellyfishkit than the others and this did not go unnoticed by Tornkit and Icykit.
Eventually, Gannetstar’s kits are apprenticed and she was able to leave the nursery but they were back to feeling terrible about leadership. She had been trained her entire life to only care about herself, to only put effort into making sure that she survives, and now she was alone in leading an entire clan of cats. She made her kits warriors way earlier than she should have and only two months later she learned terrible news. One day, her daughter, Jellyfishspeckle went on patrol but didn’t return. Jellyfishspeckle had been taken away by twolegs. Gannetstar, after having already been under a lot of stress, broke down as a result of their daughter being taken away. They encouraged fights on border patrols and even began picking fights with cats from her own clan. Lightspots at one point stepped up to confront her about this and she took to physically punishing him with the help of Snapfern, a cat who’s allegiance to not only SplashClan, but herself, she was questioning. The three cats were left injured by the fight but in the end Gannetstar felt as though they could trust Snapfern more.
Gannetstar began to feel as if they were going crazy and she began to feel numb with pain, both from the loss of Jellyfishspeckle and her tail injury. Over the next few months she failed to recover, struggling to fight off the infection in their wound and this only worstened when her other daughter, Icywhisker, died as well. Though she recovered from her injury shortly afterward, she could harldy react to her daughter’s death due to her numbness. Months later, Gannetstar even repeated what she had done to Lightspots to Clovefreckle after he similarly spoke out against them, though thankfully it wasn’t as harsh. Gannetstar’s trust in their clanmates began to dwindle and she soon sought out Snapfern to spy on the cats of SplashClan for her. Eventually, her trust in Snapfern became so great that she confessed to Snapfern about their own romantic feelings towards her. Snapfern agreed, sharing Gannetstar’s feelings and the two became mates.
Over the next few months, things between SplashClan and HazeClan became worse and worse and Gannetstar even began to ask the other clans to form an alliance but in the end, neither HeatherClan or DeadClan were willing to help. As tensions rose things only became worse for Gannetstar with the death of her son, Tornrun. Though she didn’t play favorites with Tornrun, preferring Jellyfishspeckle, Tornrun had been the only one of her kits that still remained in SplashClan. It was only a few months after this when finally, Jellyfishspeckle returned to SplashClan. Though Gannetstar should’ve been happy, they weren’t the same cat they were when Jellyfishspeckle had been taken away and apart of them began to blame their daughter for abandoning their clan in a time of need and felt as though she was cursed, somehow causing the deaths of Icywhisker and Tornrun just as she left the clan and returned. The pain of Tornrun’s death and Jellyfishspeckle’s return finally caused Gannetstar to break and officially declare war on HazeClan. The war lasted seven months and four cats died however SplashClan was the clear loser of the war. Ever since Gannetstar had been leader, they had been searching for the perfect opportunity to prove her worth as leader and in the end they failed, they failed terribly.
During the war, Gannetstar decided to distract themselves by taking on their second apprentice, choosing the kit, Quietpaw for that position. Gannetstar was a bit more involved with Quietpaw’s training than she was with Sagepeak's since this time she had willingly taken him as an apprentice, but things ended up just as badly. Under Gannetstar’s training, Quietpaw was trained to exhaustion every single day and was hardly recognizable as his former self not long after becoming an apprentice. Similarly to Sagepeak, Quietpaw wanted to make Gannetstar proud of him and he would do anything to make that happen. At one point after the war had ended, a bunch of HazeClan apprentices began to bully Quietpaw from across the border. She encouraged Quietpaw to fight back, even if he was clearly outnumbered. Quietpaw made it out of this encounter, but was mildly hurt and Gannetstar praised him for this. Quietpaw’s apprenticeship came to a sudden end in leafbare. He was so painfully hungry from there being a lack of prey that he attemted to calm his hunger by eating some red berries he found, these ended up being death berries. Though Quietpaw died, Gannetstar didn’t seem to care much.
Tumblr media
Before Quietpaw had died, her and Snapfern’s son, Patchoulitkit was born. When Gannetstar wasn’t too busy training Quietpaw, they would spend time with Snapfern as she was the only one who they felt could bring them comfort. As a result, Patchoulikit didn’t get to spend a lot of time with his parents and began to look up to and chase after Gannetstar for their attention. Gannetstar decided to mentor their son herself. Though the clan spoke out against this, Gannetstar didn’t care. They spent the most time and care training Patchoulipaw compared to Sagepeak and Quietpaw, influencing him to use violence over words and to make impulsive decisions. Just like she did with her previous kits, she made him a warrior early, granting him the name Patchouliprickle. He took after Gannetstar’s bloodthirsty nature but died too quick to acomplish anything.
Patchouliprickle, Snapfern, and many other SplashClan cats disappeared into the night and wound up in StarClan, their cause of death unknown. Gannetstar was left devistated and broken by their loss. Only three months after this, Gannetstar lost her very first life to an injury they had recieved months prior from a dog attack. Shortly after, she decided to move on from Snapfern but in the end they never took another mate. Throughout the rest of their life, Gannetstar seemed to become more and more lost in their own mind and their previously shown agitation and aggression towards others, even in their own clan, grew and grew. She later lost her second life to a venomous snake bite before slowly beginning to lose her remaining seven lives to old age throughout the 93rd month of SplashClan’s existence. As they lay dying, Gannetstar laughed in her deputy, Lightspot’s face and told him-
“Hah! I’m glad you of all cats are becoming the next leader. There isn’t another fool alive who i’d be more willing to see cursed with the role of leader.”
Gannetstar, having already entered the Dark Forest in their life, was brought there in death and realized that she would’ve been able to influence the cats below. She began to scheme and soon figured out her plan. If they turned the young cats against the clans, she could turn them to her side, destroying SplashClan in the process and proving that all along the idea of ‘clans’ were cursed to fail. Ever since their death, they’ve reached out to many of SplashClan’s younger cats and brought them to train in the Dark Forest, some even becoming loyal to her already.
Fun Facts
Gannetflight was named after Gannetstar by her mother, Emberfreckle who's one of the most involved and loyal dark forest trainees.
Gannetstar's original in-game warrior name was Gannethorse but this was changed to Gannettalon later on since it made more sense and wasn't as goofy
Their favorite food is frog but they also liked rabbit and shrews
Their character song is Ain’t It Fun by Paramore
Gannetstar’s voice claim is Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil: Village (voiced by Maggie Robertson)
Dark Forest Events
The first cat Gannetstar influenced to begin training in the dark forest as Sparkstep. They contacted him in his dream only a month after she had died.
Gannetstar feels regret for some of their actions, though it's unclear which ones
Gannetstar considered walking in Old Deuteronomyplume's dreams but decided against it, realizing they wouldn't have accepted her proposal to train
From the dark forest, Gannetstar never contacted Lightstar but always kept an eye on him, smiling slyly how much he likely hated being leader at such an old age and how it was herself who put him there
They considered bringing Brackenshade's son, Brightsnap into the dark forest but decided against it, knowing Brackenshade had likely taught him too many negative things about Gannetstar to want to accept
Gannetstar indirectly killed Brightsnap, Rippletuft, Littlebat, and Sardinefuzz. She had instructed some of the HeatherClan dark forest trainnes to attack them on patrol in order to specifically kill Sardinefuzz, the current deputy of SplashClan so Emberfreckle, a prominent dark forest trainee could potentially be chosen as his replacement.
Gannetstar feels distain and malice towards Hailtorrent, a high ranking dark forest trainee from SplashClan becuase they believes that he has the capability to turn against her and completely destroy her plans
Throughout Snailshell's apprenticeship, Gannetstar continued to whisper in his ear as they couldn't fully walk in his dreams due to his connection to StarClan. In the end thankfully, he was able to block Gannetstar out.
Mudember, Emberfreckle's son was one of the cats Gannetstar had an eye on birth but in the end it's likely she was never able to contact him due to his stronger than average connection to StarClan.
Gannetstar had their eyes on Brackenshade's son, Laurelstep from kithood but it's unclear if he was ever reached out to

I find the idea of leadership in WC clans working on succession by tanistry to be a really interesting possibility. It could work not only to better justify the amount of nepotism going on but also I think making the clans more explicitly based off celtic clans could help them shave off some of the vaguely Native American-appropriating vibes they carry due to careless worldbuilding and thoughtless use of terminology like "medicine cat".
For the uninitiated, succession by tanistry works thusly: at the ascension of a new chieftain/king, the clan elects their successor, called a tanist. A tanist must be an adult descendant of the previous ruler. Thus, so long as they're of age, the current chieftain/king's siblings, children, niblings, grandchildren, grandniblings, and so on are elligible to inherit.
I'm not working out a full family tree just yet, but pondering how this might apply to ThunderClan as we see it in Into the Wild alone brings up interesting possibilities. For instance:
What are Redtail, Lionheart, and Tigerclaw's relationships to Bluestar? To each other? Presumably, they would've been close family so what does this say about Tigerclaw's ruthlessness in seeking to be elected as tanist/deputy?
Does Fireheart's ascent to deputyship thus imply he was adopted by Bluestar? Did she do it because of the prophecy? Did she think it meant he was supposed to be leader one day? How does this tie to the Clans' views on adoption?
And bringing it a little forward:
Would Brambleclaw, on account that the last leader was Bluestar, still be descended from the last leader and therefore elligible for deputyship? Or would he be too far removed from the direct line to be considered? Could Firestar have adopted him in turn? Or did he end up turning to the DF in frustration at the fact he won't ever be allowed to bring his ambitions to fruition? Was Tigerstar's pitch perhaps "If that kittypet hadn't meddled, I'd be leader right now and you could be deputy"?
Is the Clan perhaps expecting Squirrelpaw be perhaps considered a good candidate for deputy/tanist once she comes of age? Would she fell pressured to grow up into a good candidate? How does she feel about this whole system?
Overall, very interesting stuff. The wheels are turning on my head but I've got more questions than answers at this stage.

“Ey yo, who wants to hear me ramble about the distinct and not so distinct families that make up Thunderclan in TPB and how that affects how each character behaves” - Mudcastle
Me, that would me. Tell me what you got :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YES
There is a bunch to get into about how this works before I go into the characters themselves. Prepare for a long post under the cut:
Okay so TPB takes place after a really bad winter in Dark Mirror. Most of the families are, at best, fractured. So:
The highest family is currently Bluestar's, consisting of only herself, Whitestorm, and sometimes Brindleface (we'll get into that)
The next highest is Redtail's, consisting of himself, Spottedleaf, Sandstorm (Sandpaw at the time), Mousefur, and Runningwind (they're a combined family)
The third highest is Lionheart's, consisting of himself, Goldenflower, Cinderkit, Brackenkit, Thornkit, and Brightkit.
Tigerclaw counts as his own family.
Then there's everyone else.
Basic rules are: The position of the family tends to depend on the highest ranking members. Bluestar's family tops solely because she is leader. Red's family is next because Redtail is deputy and Spottedleaf is a medicine cat. Meaning that if your high ranking family member dies, your entire family's ranking drops to the next highest ranking member.
Seniority tends to get you a higher role after the highest positions are filled. Having a member live to become an elder, especially a respected one, is gold. Like Runningwind and Mousefur, who are the kits of One-eye (the oldest cat in Thunderclan) and Halftail.
If you don't have a respected elder in your family, your next best bet is skill (hence Tigerclaw being up there despite having no high ranking or senior members in his family). And having a higher member like say Lionheart train you is a really good way to get your foot into another family. Get the leader or deputy and you're pretty much on the path of greatness.
After that, numbers might help,
Families can accept outside members (namely stolen kits) and they can combine. They cannot separate if they are all related, this is purely for my sanity. Though sometimes you get weird positions like sort of the family's responsibility but not a part of them really (Brambleclaw).
HOWEVER, in the case of stolen kits, no family is required to take them in. They will have a surrogate and be raised up until 6 moons old, then once apprentices they can be considered their own family. This is rare because you generally want more members rather than less. The fire fam is a case where they are their own family.
Matehood tends to get a bit weird, since most cats want to marry up, but the cats up don't want to marry down so they can marry up and it's a whole thing. Most queens at this point just mate with rogues for the sake of my personal sanity. Not important in TPB because most cats are trying to form new families since so many were irreparably fractured.
Now let's start with the apprentices:
The firefam, consisting of Firepaw, Flamepaw, and Fawnpaw is in a weird place. Firepaw and Flamepaw are trained by Bluestar and Redtail (and later Tigerclaw) respectively, which immediately signals to the clan that one of them has a high chance of being chosen as deputy one day. However, they have no high ranking family members, so there's a range of ways they're treated. They were mostly raised by Brindleface, but their relationship is...really weird and sort of distant.
Graypaw, Darkstripe, and Willowpelt are one of, if not the lowest on the hierarchy. Willowpelt and Graypaw are honestly pretty chill with this. They're not inherently competitive cats. Darkstripe however rejects this and rubs elbows with Tigerclaw both because he admires him and because he's desperate to climb the social ladder. He also tries to be domineering but he sucks at it cause no one is impressed, just annoyed. And like in canon it's rather Graystripe who does so by being friends with the firefam.
Dustpaw and Ravenpaw lost their whole family. While Ravenpaw tries to make friends, Dustpaw seems intent on making enemies with every apprentice other than Sandpaw. Both Dustpaw and Ravenpaw are anxious characters, but while Ravenpaw tries to find comfort in companionship, Dustpaw tries to find it in domineering his peers. Bully before you can be bullied. He grows out of this eventually, but the damage to his reputation is harder to overcome.
Sandpaw is a bit snooty but otherwise unbothered, as she's in the comfortable position of having her father as deputy, aunt as medicine cat, and two respected elders as grandparents. Then they die, and her future's kinda fucked. She's then heavily pressured by her other dad to be the best of the best in order to retain whatever position their family can in preparation for when her grandparents die. She does eventually become Firestar's deputy and the best hunter in the clan, but poor girl has been s t r e s s e d much of her life.
Onto the warriors:
Tigerclaw obviously kills Redtail, Lionheart dies, you know how it goes. But his decision to court Goldenflower is in fact because, despite Lionheart's death, that family is still of noble standing because of her. And of course Goldenflower obliges, I mean he's a very respected warrior, easy on the eyes, and just look at the kits this guy has stolen (btw don't know if I've mentioned this but Tigerclaw was on the firefam theft patrol.). This combines them into one family for better or for worse. Which unfortunately makes Bramble and Tawny Tigerfam in the eyes of the clan even after exile.
The Lion family keeps a very consistent spot near the top throughout most of the series, even after Lion, Golden, and Cinderpelt die.
Longtail is his own family and does what Darkstripe does but is less cringe about it.
Brindleface... yeah I kinda accidentally made her really tragic. Brindle takes in the firefam cause she lost her kits to the cold. Soon after that Whitestorm and her break up. She's not really on board with caring for more kids so soon after the deaths but Bluestar doesn't really react well to being told no so it is what it is. She keeps them alive, but she's not their mom (but sort of is) and they don't acknowledge her as mom (but sort of do) it's a mess.
Later Whitestorm and her make up and they have more kits. Then she catches her totally-not-daughter trynna leave with her own kids and prompts her to leave the white one because he's not gonna survive the trip in that cold. And Brindle takes him in. She kind of does and doesn't support the clan's ways. Mostly she wants happiness in her family. And, if Fawntail decides that that means leaving, well...she won't stop her.
Cloud, Ash, and Fern have a bit of a weird relationship later on, in that he's firefam and they're not and he suddenly outranks them by a lot more when Whitestorm dies. but that's for a later time.
Dappletail's lineage dies out in that arc so I'm not too concerned with her.
Speckletail is Golden and Lion's mom
The rest of the elders have no family
And I think that's about it for everyone. Correct me if I'm wrong. Send asks as needed

Introducing the Dawnclan deputies versus the Duskclan senior warriors council!
The deputy system works differently in each clan from each other and from Warriors canon, so I’ll include a bit of context (and some introductions to these characters) below.
(thanks to @nanistar who I adopted Windwhispers design from, isn’t she pretty??)
Dawnclan:
Three deputies are chosen upon the election of a new leader; one chosen by the leader, one chosen by the clans elders and one chosen by the healers. Deputies manage patrols, camp upkeep and oversee training between themselves. If a deputy retires or dies they may choose and train their replacement, otherwise the two remaining deputies will decide for them. When the leader dies/retires the new leader is voted for by any fully named warrior/healer from the pool of deputies. The current deputies include:
Windwhisper, the youngest deputy (35 moons), a social she-cat who likes to stay current with clan gossip/news which informs her decisions as a deputy. She primarily organises hunting and border patrols.
Morningstorm, the oldest deputy (108 moons), who was Magpiestars controversial choice of deputy upon her election (because he killed Burningstar, the previous Duskclan leader, as he was healing). He is externally cold but is surprisingly patient in his role of overseeing apprentice training.
Drizzleleaf, the other one (57 moons), who was selected and trained by the deputy he replaced. They are known for being fidgety and awkward and feel like they have to compete with the younger Windwhisper to have enough cats to properly defend their clan. They are in charge of Dawnclan’s camp defenses.
Duskclan:
Since Duskclan’s leadership succession follows the line of clerics/healers, Duskclan lacks the traditional deputy role. Instead a group of senior warriors, known as the council, decide matters such as patrols, battle strategy and apprenticeships. This council selects their own replacements when a member retires/dies which needs to be approved by the leader. It’s common for the kits of council members to be mentored by other council members and later be selected for the position. The current members include:
Slugbelly, one of the kinder members but only when seperate from the rest. He’s known for his humour which is often given at the expense of others and for ultimately following the group consensus with little independent thought.
Willowwind, the only she cat of the group and one of the more senior warriors. She’s uptight and pedantic, almost obsessive over following the clans rules and traditions. As a young warrior she discovered her kin in a cross clan relationship that bore a kit; not wishing to shame her family she kept the secret and the kit was raised in Dawnclan. She’s never been able to look at Windwhisper in the eye since.
Stoatbite, the oldest member with the most power over decisions. He’s incredibly experienced, particularly in battle and has a strong distrust of cats outside of Duskclan, as well as being known for his recklessness and arrogance.
Thunderclaw, a generically xenophobic older warrior who is strict and severe, believing of the effectiveness of “tough love” which he extends to his kits. Ironically he gained his position entirely though nepotism and has experienced little in terms of severe hardship.
Dappledshade, the newest and youngest council member. He considers it an honour to be included with his young age and although he has some discomfort with the views of the other members he lacks the backbone to stand up to them. Well liked and popular amongst other young warriors and is a bit of a player.

brambleclaws character really could have been great if there was more effort into him and that’s what sucks abt it. like when i imagine a concept for brambleclaw that i like and that makes him like, not abusive or manipulative, i think of him as being a character where his main focus is staying under the radar. he doesn’t want to be a leader or deputy and doesn’t really have ambition - and it’s partially because he squashes any personal desire to climb up ranks in thunderclan so he’s not perceived as being Tigerstar Jr. he doesn’t try to show any desire to do anything other than what he’s currently doing and for the most part he’s content to be Just Another Warrior, that’s all he wants to be. and i think that he still is uptight and has his moments where he’s extremely stubborn, but he Does freak out a little when he realizes that his friends and family are upset with him, because he’s all about maintaining close personal relationships and caring for others. he’s selfless to a fault and has gratitude for cats like firestar who gave him a chance
i dunno man. brambleclaw really had potential to be good and enjoyable - not an overly kind and flawless character at all, but FAR from his canon version

I've seen a bunch of people draw the start of their clangen saves so i wanted to do the same! Here's the original Orangeclan cats from way back in December when i started playing this game
More info on them under the cut
Orangeclan lives in the mountain cliff and as far as backstory goes i always imagined that they used to live in caves/tunnels but a huge flood happened and their clan was decimated. Despite being pretty old when this happened Sleetfur was able to dig a way out of the cave/tunnel and save himself, his mate and Sparkblotch's family from drowning, his beavery was rewarded by starclan giving him nine lives and giving him the mission of rebuilding the clan.
Sleetstar would later scout the area after the flood passed to look for more survivors from his clan, which led to him finding and rescuing Asterswoop, Spikefreckle, Tigerbush, Forestpaw and Slightpaw. He then guided the cats to the mountain top because be believed that being all the way up there would keep the clan safe from any other natural disasters that happened down bellow.
Dont ask why they're called Orangeclan btw, i didn't out any thought on the name. I was having a lot of save problems and had 3 other clans before this one that i couldn't save and i thought it was gonna be the same for them so i didn't bother picking up a cool name and went with the first randomized option.
Now into the cats themsleves
I already talked a bit about Sleetstar but i love him so much :(, i don't get why people never pick older cats to be leaders, maybe it's different in the newer version of clangen but my guy would rarely lose lives let alone get sick or injured. He was a strong man! And a very good leader, he wals always trying to set a good example to his clanmates.
He is mates with Shadowpelt and they were very sweet, tho i don't have much to say about Shadowpelt because he died on my first timeskip and then i got sas because his last though was about growing old with Sleetstar 💔
Tigerbush was my first medicine cat and one of the only cats from this image that's still alive in current Orangeclan, i have no idea how, this man is absolute ancient and refuses to retire. Crusty old cat is only leaving the medicine den on his coffin at this point.
Spikefreckle was pretty cool? The cats liked her as a deputy and she was always looking out to the younger cats in clan, but unfortunately i also don't have much to say about her since she also died pretty early on when i send a patrol to investigate a badger den. Which sucked because she had such a cool design :(
While no cat at the start of a clangen save os related i always pictured Sparkblotch being Pigeonpelt and Fadedgaze's mother, she was very nice and spent most of her days as a sweet old lady looking over the clan's kits. Her sons are pretty cool too, Fadedgaze is very chill and Pigeonpelt is such a guy!! He's a little shy and adopted two abandoned kits that grew up to be called Doveheart and Hailhawk! Bird fam!
The there's Asterswoop who's the cat with the biggest swag around, they're full of themselves and think they're the best warrior ever. But he's not a jerk, they were always pretty helpful just a lil annoying. I absolutely love his fur pattern and it sucks ass that none of his kids got the same harsh white divide :(
Speaking of kids, they're family was kinda of a mess, they got together with an ex-loner and had two kits but quickly divorced and the ex went ton to marry Fadedgaze shortly after. Who she also had kits with and divorced to get together with another cat shortly after-
Lastly we have Forestpaw and Slightpaw who grew up to be Forestpoppy/star and Slightstreak, god there's so much to say about these two and their fucked up relationship. Being the only two young warriors in the clan there was pressure from their clanmates for them to get together and bring kits to the clan, which they did but their relationship was by no means good or healthy.
Slightstreak was a pool of negativity always complaining about everything and everyone, their son Woodkit was born around the time Forestpoppy was appointed as deputy and many times she put her job over being around for the kid, leaving Woodkit to be around his other mom most of the time, who was seemingly never satisfied or proud of anything he accomplished.
They actually divorced right after Woodshade became a warrior which was fucking hilarious to me

Since we're sharing stories, let me tell you the most heartwarming one that's played out in my clan. It revolves around two sisters, Beetlebud and Bluewhisker.
When they were kits they had an interaction where they vowed to both become the greatest warriors ever, Beetle being adventurous and Blue being shameless. While both mellowed out as they grew older, with Beetle learning there was more to being a great warrior than glory (turned loving despite being a formidable fighter) and Blue discovering a passion for history, they remained close through adulthood.
At one point Beetle had become mates with a daring female former rogue (named Tinyhowl) whom Blue also had a crush on, and when Blue eventually confessed Tiny was interested and Beetle was willing to share. They went on to adopt and raise 5 kits across 3 litters together.
Cut to many moons later, and the current leader dies. Both sisters were close to her, and are grieving. Beetle is the current deputy, but had a broken bone. I checked her relationships and there was no one who wasn't retired that she had higher regard for than her sister Blue, so Blue is appointed deputy to keep the clan running.
Only Beetle never recovers. Two moons after becoming the acting leader she dies from her injury before ever having the chance to commune with Starclan for her nine lives. Blue spends the vigil staring at the stars and wondering if her sister was one of them.
But sure enough, when Blue travels to receive her nine lives, Beetle is the last one to step forward and proudly give her a life "for endurance in the face of any hardship," and leads the cheer of Starclan cats in hailing her sister by her new name.
And when they finally meet again, they'll both have been stars. These two live in my head rent-free, I stg 😂
BRO THIS IS SO SAD WTF. the siblings :(((

You Do Not "Stand Up For Jews" By Involuntarily Roping Us Into Your Islamophobia
A true all-time classic moment in "allyship" this week from London's mayoral race, pitting Conservative Susan Hall against the Labour incumbent Sadiq Khan: The British Conservative Party’s candidate for London mayor said that Sadiq Khan, who currently holds the post, is “divisive” and has therefore “frightened” some of Britain’s Jewish community. “I will ask for as much help as I can get in London because we need to defeat him,” Susan Hall said Monday night at a Conservative Friends of Israel event in Manchester that was part of the Tory party’s annual conference. “Particularly for our Jewish community.” Those of you who only follow British politics in passing may not know this, but the British Jewish community has historically had an outstanding relationship with Khan. Even in the depths of Corbyn era, Khan was seen as a Labour party member who genuinely had the backs of the Jewish community, including calling out his own party for failing to treat antisemitism with requisite seriousness. The allegation that Jews are "frightened" by Khan has no basis in fact and is clearly just a sideswipe at the fact that he is Muslim. Hence, the response from British Jewish leaders was not at all surprising:  British Jewish groups quickly issued statements condemning Hall and defending Khan, who is London’s first Muslim mayor and has Pakistani ancestry. The Board of Deputies of British Jews said that Khan has always treated the Jewish community “with friendship and respect.” Longtime Jewish Labour parliament member Margaret Hodge called Hall’s comments “dog-whistle politics” and said “Khan has always called out antisemitism, wherever it has reared.” But it's Hall's response to Jews saying her comments were out of order that is truly transcendent: When asked by Sky News if she would apologize for her comments in the wake of the criticism she has received, Hall said: “I will never apologize for standing up for our Jewish community.” You tell 'em, Hall! You're not going to let some dirty Jews tell you how to stand up for the Jewish community! It's called allyship -- look it up!  via The Debate Link https://ift.tt/pcrbgkC

Hi so uhm. A few lil things lol
The clans live throughout the alcoves in the sides of an old iterator's can, high enough that the rain is only a threat in the more open areas. Some of them inhabit the abandoned city on top, but due to the multitude of vultures and the lack of easy prey, the clans opt to not go up there too often.
SaintClan is peaceful, and doesn't use spears. The rest of the clans dont take advantage of them for this because SaintClan helps all of their neighbours with illness and injury.
Incurring the wrath of SaintClan has summoned famine, plague and ferocious predators into the camps of the other clans before, so they've decided that as long as SaintClan remains the kind and peaceful neighbours they are currently, there's no good reason to attack them.
The Outlaws are basically a band of loners who live in the abandoned city atop the old iterator the clans live in. They showed up one day, and took up residence there, before beginning to show up to monthly meetings.
SlayerClan dislikes how they've let a band of rogues take up the old city and WanderClan thinks that letting the Outlaws live near them will put the clan's relationship with the scavenger tribes at risk, while SurvivorClan and ScholarClan believe that their new neighbours are a boon to the clan's trading industry as the unusual slugcats can make exotic items much faster than any natural source, leading to better trading materials and better weapons for hunting.
SaintClan has made peace with the Outlaws, simply informing them that if they are ever struck by illness or excessive injury they can ask them for help.
Setting Flame and Dew are actually Siblings, Dew was given over to SurvivorClan as payment for an attack from WanderClan causing a young pup to die after running too far from camp to get away from the attack and then getting snatched by a lizard. The two have strengthened the two clan's alliance in their leadership.
Vulture Slayer was originally in SlayerClan, and was a rather respected warrior. However, she ended up falling in love with an Outlaw and getting exiled for it. She was welcomed into SurvivorClan's ranks, and found a true passion of hers; Healing. She ended up becoming the clan's loyal healer, with her new mate eventually joining SurvivorClan with her as an Ambassador for the Outlaws.
Ghost is Albino, and was named after both their unique lack of patterning and red eyes, and how they are nearly silent whilst moving.
Hanging Lichen was born with one eye, and grows a variety of different plants out of pores on their back. They even have some wormgrass growing in them!
Mushroom and Eggtooth are the youngest slugcats to have roles as important as theirs. Eggtooth is still a pup, but is stunted and grows slower than normal pups their age.
Mushroom couldn't focus well enough to fight or hunt well, so they asked to see if they could become a doctor. They ended up being unsure of themselves at first, before meeting eggtooth and becoming rather good friends with them. Their friendship encouraged Mushroom to continue learning how to be a doctor.
I might like. Design the iterator these guys live in or whatever but like yea have these ramblings to hold u over for now ig

Okay okay okay so I don't often talk about Warrior Cats but I just had an AU idea centred around LongFire that i'm just gonna infordump here
The Prophecies Begin starts the same, where Longtail attacks Rusty and is initially hostile toward him. He saves him from the river as usual but instead of their dynamic being ignored they start having a mutual respect for one another after Tigerclaw is exiled, and Fireheart actually sees that Longtail is loyal to the clan instead of Tigerclaw.
Swiftpaw dies, and Fireheart comforts Longtail, something we don't really see onscreen in the books. It's then that they actually start being friends, and Longtail's predjudice against kittypets gets resolved, and Firestar even takes him to visit Princess at one point, and Longtail becomes friendly with Cloudtail. So it's not like a "oh he still is a kittypet xenophobe but Firestar is his only exception" kinda thing.
Then the battle with Scourge happens, Whitestorm dies, and instead of Graystripe being deputy (i still don't think he deserved it >:/) Firestar makes Longtail deputy; I think this would have worked narritavely really well in the books, as it shows development in Longtail's character and because Warriors isn't big on redemptions (they only said on Longtail 'oh he was good all along just misunderstood lolsies') so I want Longboi to become a good person D:
Then Longtail gets blinded by the rabbit as normal, but he still remains deputy and finds a way to live blind like Jayfeather did, because fuck abelism in these books and the fact that Longtail had to retire early because of his disability!!
Then this is up for your interpretation, but I like to think Firestar and Longtail fall for each other in the end,, idk i love me a good well written rivals to lovers :D and Sandstorm is the surrogate mother and Squilf and Leaf happen (i just think in this timeline it would be cute for Longfire to happen, but in the current timeline when they were still kinda on ehhh terms? yeah, not cute!)
And Longtail doesn't get crushed by a tree, he lives until the Great Battle when Firestar dies, and he becomes Longstar with Squirrelflight as deputy! :D which tbh, he would make a much better leader than Brambleshit will ever be
don't flame me for this idea, it's just one of my favorite AU's completely built off of canon complaint and missed potential for Longtail's character and his relationship with Firestar
