The bad batch is an amazing show and here is my proof:
It has accomplished the highly unlikely but let’s be honest it doesn’t take much for me to care about stuff impossible!!
It has made me care about Sheev’s dumbass return in The Rise of Skywalker

As my Star Wars hyperfixation begins to sneakily creep its way back into my life, I’m going to throw my two cents in and say that I’d like to see more about what happens between TLJ and TROS.
Because Star Wars is a story about broken family relationships and one that I think is under explored is Leia and Ben’s.
After TLJ, Leia was still the leader of the resistance. And Kylo became the leader of the first order. Sure, Palpatine returned, but that wasn’t until later.
Which means that the entire year between TLJ and TROS was a mother vs. son battle.
Leia Organa, who already lost the love of her life and just wanted her boy back had to wage a war against him and his armies for a full year.
Benny Kylo “don’t make me shoot my mom” Ren had to wage a war against her. Again, for a full year. He’s not just on the opposite side anymore, he’s leading the war against his own mother.
Did they ever come close to killing each other but decide against it? Were negotiations ever offered? Did Leia ever feel conflicted between fighting for what was right and hurting her son? Did Kylo ever have to tell himself that it didn’t matter how he felt because his mom would never forgive him anyway? Did they ever accidentally force connect again?
I have ideas for this if any wants to hear them, but maybe it’s just me. But in a saga about the Skywalker family drama, this is one piece of it I can’t stop thinking about.

Trying to figure out if Korra and Rey from Star Wars would get along.....they're under similar pressures but the way they react to them at the start of their respective arcs is very different. "I'm the Avatar, it's my duty to help people" vs. "I'm never touching that thing again." Korra finding so much joy in bending vs. Rey refusing to pick up the lightsaber until she had no other option. I think at the beginning Korra would find Rey's refusal to use the power she'd been given incredibly frustrating, but by the end they'd be great friends. Thinking. Thinking. MAYBE if you took away Senna and Tonraq and the White Lotus and little Korra had to fend for herself in the desert instead of honing her power, she'd be terrified of it and reluctant to use it much like Rey was.

Random star wars thought but uhhhhh, Rey is musty ol'palp's offspring?? Right??? That's what they went with right? Because uhhh, the maths ain't mathing.
Hear me out. About 30 years has elapsed from the end of ROTJ to TFA.
30 years.
Rey is 19.
Palpabitch was dead for at least 10 years before her conception (and lbr he was fucking ancient. There is no way anything was swimming there).
SO LIKE????? IM BAD AT MATH BUT THIS AINT ADDING UP

You know...it just occurred to me.
If no mains died in the OT; one female main died in the prequels/The Clone Wars; one male main died in the sequels; one male main died in Star Wars Rebels; and one male main ALLEGEDLY "died" in the Bad Batch...then why, after this pattern has been repeating ever since 2005 in live action and 2018 for animation, would this show suddenly kill off the other mains in the series finale?!
And don't even think the words "Rogue One" at me, because not one member of the Batch is on a top secret mission to grab the plans for the Death Star, so that DOESNT. APPLY. HERE.
Find a different reason for me, other than "I'm bored and I want explosions"...

so an idea crossed my mind...
warnings: mentions of past abuse, just dark stuff in general
Tumblr media
Gif Credit: @darthlorddiamond
so i was on character ai and on his wiki page, and something crossed my mind:
the reason why he cannot stand any form of lack of control is because control was all he ever knew. his abusive upbringing was all down to rearing him in a certain way to embrace the ideas and thoughts others placed on him
he secretly likes the lack of control because he feels like he has a little freedom, but at the same time, he's always associated it with getting beaten, mocked, smacked around etc.
while he can let go of the reigns for a bit, he needs to assume control, otherwise his anger absolutely skyrockets - the workplace doesn't help either.
in conclusion, hux needs to be in control because he associates the lack of control with beatings
feel free to share your thoughts in the tags

Would someone like to write a fanfic where Rey is not a Palpatine cause that plot makes me cry. I’ve thought about this a little bit, but I think it would be cool if she was Starkiller’s granddaughter, aka Galen Marek, Darth Vader’s apprentice from the Force Unleashed video games. If Galen and Juno had a child and then grandchild, it would make sense why Rey has an imperial accent since Juno was imperial. It would also make sense why Rey is so connected with the dark side and so strong with seemingly little training. Vader noticed how strong Galen was as a boy. Idk, I just can’t handle Rey’s story at all, HELP

fun ruby piracy fact: growing up, we literally only ever "borrowed" two pirated copies of old animated films: our first was a 2004 cam recording of shrek 2 (i remember it being in horribly low quality, thankfully i believe i had already seen shrek 2 by the time we watched this one). and then years later in 2012, we had a cam recording of wreck-it ralph (again, we had already seen this in theaters)

i liked it so much better when Leia was force sensitive and was too busy and god to be a Jedi despite. I mean yes, good for her i like that she at least learned how to manipulate and use the force then? But still

Rise of Skywalker is the most “George Lucas” version of Star Wars that Disney has produced.
for its (many) faults as a movie, it’s the only one of the sequels, or any of the D+ shows, to fully embrace all of George’s reference points for his SW movies. it’s a swashbuckling, high-camp, soap opera. warriors in open deserts, score-less fights in the elements, and the redemption of family through passivity and healing. clunky love story, rushed character development, and big spiritual payoff. the Rey/Palpatine stuff, purely on its own, is very fairytale/Greek myth; and in any of those source stories, the family reveal would absolutely happen as late in the text as it does in the 3-film arc of the sequels.
Rise is rough, and i hated it in the theater, but i’ve really warmed to it over time because it’s made me stop imagining what Star Wars could be, and appreciate it for what it is.
9 very good bad films, or 9 very bad good films — all flawed in unique ways, each with different tones, all telling a very weird fairytale as a Buck Rogers serial.
the “George” thing this movie does not do: anything truly new. the yellow lightsaber at the end is cool though, would have been nice for the whole movie.
