I’d never expect for both Luis Vasquez / The Soft Moon and Juan Mendez / Silent Servant (and his wife Simone Ling) to be taken from us, all at the exact same time.

Rest in Peace, Luis Vasquez 💔

I discovered The Soft Moon while stuck in London Heathrow overnight waiting for a flight. It was the same night I discovered Boy Harsher and Molchat Doma. It was the dawn of my love of goth/darkwave music. I’ve come back to this KEXP performance often just to listen to his vocals on ‘Wasting’ - I could never get enough of him.

Devastated that we have lost such a talented and dynamic artist so young. Grateful I got to see him perform live, if only once. His music will continue on, but I wish he were still here 😞🥀
