My favorite cryptid has to be 'The Great Lake Monster' of Östersund, Sweden. In Swedish it's called 'Storsjöodjuret' and is told to live in the lake Storsjön. Storsjöodjuret could very easily be compared to the Loch Ness Monster, some people joke that they are the same creature with a passageway between Sweden and Scotland. The monster was treated the same way as witches, giants and other evil spirits were back in the day, it was something you prayed for wouldn't catch in your fishing nets, and you told the children to not play in the water in fear that it would take them (I may have made that part up, I don't know that much about his past). But nowadays he's the towns mascot, he has multiple children's books and songs about him, he has fun statues around town you can play on, and he participates in the town events as a suit (I've actually been in one during a charity event for like 20 minutes, those things are warm and very hard to move in)!

new addition 2 the family, congratulaions! I gave Sealand n Ladonia a little sister cus i think it’d b funny n cute, and Denmark n Sweden feel like the type of people to have like 8 kids. she’s Skåne, sweden’s most southern region. (also late happy holidays wishes)
