something you guys gotta understand is that swifties are always going to praise taylor swift's albums regardless of quality due to the sunk cost fallacy. even independently of all of her previous work and all of the love and dedication that they have poured into that, the hype around the release is very poignant. one thing for which I will credit taylor swift and her team is being excellent at marketing.
for the tortured poets' department, there was an amazing roll-out that included qr codes put up in murals around north america that led to unlisted youtube shorts and spelled something out when put all together. every day during release week, one of her teams, taylornation, posted clues on their stories that led to songs on apple music, and if you looked at the lyrics and picked out the ones that were improperly capitalized and unscrambled the word, you would find a word, and all the words in order put together became a lyric on the album: "hereby conduct this post-mortem." this was alongside other easter eggs that contributed to this atmosphere of puzzle-solving— which is a very typical trend in her marketing leading up to the release of an album. it's clever and a good business strategy.
when fans devote so much time to solving these puzzles, discovering these clues, they will inevitably become emotionally attached to the album before they even hear it. if they listen to it and it sucks, they will often convince themselves that they actually like it and anyone who says otherwise is just a hater or misogynistic or whatever. and they will defend it. they will defend it even if it's awful.

I hope someone edited this scene to these lyrics from ‘the black dog’ by Taylor Swift :
“Were you making fun of me with some esoteric joke?
Now I want to sell my house and set fire to all my clothes
And hire a priest to come and exorcise my demons
Even if I die screaming
And I hope you hear it
And I hope it's shitty
In The Black Dog
When someone plays The Starting Line and you jump up
But she's too young to know this song
That was intertwined in the tragic fabric of our dreaming
'Cause tail between your legs, you're leaving
I still can't believe it
'Cause old habits die screaming”
Shoutout to (@/HrtstpprFrames) for tweeting every heartstopper frame <3

a reminder that yoghurt boy cowrote the song with the line "I never was ready so I watch you go" and "sometimes you just don't know the answer 'til someone's on their knees and asks you" and "you'll find the real thing instead, she'll patch up your tapestry that I shred" and "your heart was glass, I dropped it" and "love slipped beyond your reaches and I couldn't give a reason" and

Joe Alwyn, THE Heirloom Turkey, going to the press after spending six years embarrassed to talk about dating Taylor Swift is certainly a choice. He never commented on The King of My Heart's but is now upset that she may be writing about her negative experiences in the relationship. Okay bro lol and let's not pretend she didn't give you writing credits to help boost vour career when those songs were mostly written by her and Aaron Dessner but okay. Lol.
You can't be that pretentious without having a good set of work behind you. It's giving Cole Sprouse, Joe.
