if the world had decided to end twenty years earlier he would have been so much happier. and yet now , after he'd been through all of this pain. had the world decided that a hard reset was the answer. if this had been all he'd ever known ? how he envied the children. no instead he thought of all the ways that the world could have ended up and yet they had ended up in this thrid world post-soviet era looking helscape. though if the man had ever wanted to survive in truth , he should have known better , but here he finds himself once again trying to do the right thing. the girl in front of him is the saving grace of humanity. one that he isn't sure will actually works.

she's morphine , a cure for the pain... a death waiting to happen ( he's sure of it ). this has happened so many times in history. so why then ? is he so determined to be a part of it.

❝ ellie. you idiot get back here , take this pistol with you. ❞ the texan's voice carries over the empty building as he watches the young girl put herself in danger again as she wanders around , no gun in hand , opening random doors as if they'd already cased this location. there could be clickers ... or worse humans. he didn't like either.

Who Does It Better: Game or Show? (Last Of Us)

As I am writing this post, the season on HBO has ended. As a gamer, I am excited to see more games become on screen entertainment, and I mean more than youtube. I sometimes miss the good old days that “watching a game” was watching someone play it. But these days they amping things up. 

So, how did this get on my radar? My partner was looking at “trending music” and this came up, and they were like-let’s watch it. A game turned show on HBO. I myself have not played the game-I love zombies but I am picky on my zombie games. I know some of the differences pre-research due to little snippets after each episode where they usually tell you what they did differently than the game. But of course, there is always a bit of research involved. 

The Game (2013): 

What is the gist of the game? “ Players control Joel, a smuggler tasked with escorting a teenage girl, Ellie, across a post-apocalyptic United States.” The story, based on watching the show-is very similar to in game story. More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_of_Us

The Show (2023): 

I watched every episode, and the after scenes. It was not bad, each one was like an hour long-so much per episode, but less episodes per one season. Some good actors in it too. Well made, but what does HBO do that isn’t well made-even if its not your cup of tea? More info here: https://www.hbo.com/the-last-of-us

Who Does It Better? 

The game was supposed to be one of the better ones. A lot of the behind the scenes characters from the game made it into the HBO series. I even saw that fans became the zombies. The differences seem very minute, they really do feed well off of each other. I have heard generally good things about it, and I know as a gamer if a game got made into a bad on screen adaptation-you would hear me complain. I think my issue is, I don’t think the story is all that. But that is just me. 

I do love this trend of classic game titles becoming on screen gems. Did you know Borderlands should be coming out soon too? What did you guys think of the game, the series, or both? Inquiring minds want to know.
