Pairing: Dean Winchester x OFC 

Summary: Dean Winchester has been stripped of his military rank, but he’s living happier with his new wife, trying to adjust to a new life in her tribe. What will it take for her people to accept him, especially when the battle for her heart might not be completely won? 

AN: So this is a sequel story directly following The Honorable Choice, where Dean not only saves the member of a Native American tribe, but falls in love with her. (She saves him a lot in return.) Now, he’ll have to learn how to live in her world if he wants to stay with her.

Disclaimer: I first got inspired to write The Honorable Choice for @jacklesversebingo after a recent rewatch of Spirit: The Stallion of the Cimarron (with a tinge of Yellowstone in the mix). I’ve done a lot of research for this whole series, both on the Native American Lakota tribe, and on American history during this time in the late 1800s; AKA: the Old West, during the American Indian Wars.

Hey guys! 🤗

So, apparently I won't be able to get the last chapter of Rightfully deceived done by this week. 😐

Work is getting crazy with the last days until christmas in sight and I also have to do my preparations in between somehow. I hope I'll have some spare hours this weekend to put the last pieces together and get it ready by next week. 😩

Pairing: Alec McDowell x Reader

Summary: Alec tries to convince you to stay in bed.

A/N: Thanks to @thebiggerbear 's wonderful words of encouragement on my first ever one-shot, I found some inspiration for this little winter drabble. This is my first time writing for Alec McDowell and was inspired by @the-slumberparty December Daze Challenge. The prompt I got from This Generator was: 'it's too cold, stay in bed' (in bold)

There was a crisp chill in the air when you woke, making you want to snuggle back down under the covers. Turning your head, to check the time you realise you are going to have to brave the chill or face the wrath of Normal for being late to work once again. Although in your defence, how were you supposed to resist the charms of the man who was the cause of your recent tardiness.

As you try to twist yourself out of the warm cacoon you were in, Alec woke up and slid his arms around you, mumbling into your neck 'it's too cold, stay in bed'.

'As tempting as that offer is... some of us have to get to work. Not all of us can be Normal's golden boy,' you tease. 'He's not going to be happy if I'm late again'.

'What can I say? He's a fan,' he responds with that cocky grin of his. 'Come on, I'll make it worth your while', placing a tempting kiss to your pulse point... too tempting to resist.

'Ok, just 5 more minutes' you sigh as you allow yourself to relax back into the comfort and warmth of Alec's arms.

#2 A Piece You're Proud Of And Why

This is a toughie... I will narrow it down to two lol. I know we talk a lot about Take A Chance On Me, but I am proud of that fic series because it is the first time I've created a long term series from scratch that I had to plot out myself, instead of reworking or essentially re-writing a tv show episode or movie and inserting a reader. You Call It Madness, is also a long term series and it has original scenes in it... but I do rely on the timeline and episodes of the Boys Season 2 more and I'm really proud that I was able to create a completely original storyline for Take A Chance.

But I am also really proud of my fic In Another Life, that I wrote for Dean Winchester. It's the first fic that I ever wrote for a Jensen Ackles character and the first one I wrote for Dean Winchester and I agonized FOREVER about posting it, but I'm so glad I did because as soon as I did, the responses I got for that fic started making me want to write more and post more stories. Before that I'd only posted a couple of fics, but it was the support of the Supernatural Fandom and really the wonderful community of people on Tumblr that inspired me to keep trying. 🥰

#5 A Scene You Enjoyed Creating

I did answer this and #20 in another ask here 😅, but I think another scene that I enjoyed creating was the scene in Long As I Can See The Light with the reader patching up Russell. It was a lot of fun putting myself in his head and writing the flirty banter of him shooting his shot while he was actually shot lol! I'm hoping to return to that reader and Russell later this year 😊

#12 A Concept You'd Like To Develop Next Year

Oooo I really like this one. I've been brainstorming a time travel fic that I got an idea for when I was watching Terminator (I love that movie lol) and while thinking about writing another Enemies to Lovers with Soldier Boy. I'm hoping to have it come out as soon as I finish If The Stars Wish It So.

#21 Something That Made You Emotional

I'm not going to lie Alex, every time I read one of your fics it makes me emotional LOL 😂.

The one that got me the most was Devour Me Part 2. There are so many parts in that fic where I was trying my best to hold it together, but oh my word it hit me right in the heart when Dean and the reader were yelling at each other. My heart still breaks at the line "I hope you learned your damn lesson" from Dean to the reader. It is so much harsher than Dean just commenting that he told her not to do something. I don't know what it is about that line, but it really is just so harsh and almost a little cold. I know he loves her and he's only doing it because he was scared, but man it still hurts. Also when they go to bed and the reader turns away from Dean, it was just so heartbreaking. I can't wait to dive back into that series this year!

#25 A Scene Or Image That Lives Rent Free In My Head

I mean... imagining cowboy Dean in your The Honorable Choice series ALWAYS lives rent free in my head lol.

But also @thebiggerbear wrote a really wonderful fic/prompt called "What Do You See In Him?" "Everything You Don't" that was a reader x Soldier Boy fic and it's so cute. I could see that conversation happening between a reader and Hughie, especially if Hughie is the reader's best friend or her brother. I think that the reader in that fic being able to see past what everyone else does was so lovely 😊

The apartment was quiet, save for the rhythmic ticking of the wall clock. You leaned against the doorway, your gaze fixed on Bucky as he sat by the window, staring into the darkened cityscape. His shoulders, usually strong and sure, seemed to carry the weight of centuries, slumped under the invisible heaviness of his memories.

“Bucky,” you called softly, hesitant to disturb him but unable to bear his silence any longer.

He didn’t respond, but the slight tilt of his head let you know he’d heard you. Approaching carefully, you eased onto the arm of his chair, your presence just brushing against his.

“You don’t have to go through this alone, you know,” you murmured, resting your hand gently on his vibranium arm. “Whatever it is… you can share it with me. You don’t have to keep carrying it by yourself.”

His jaw tightened, the glint of his metal arm catching the dim light. “It’s not that simple,” he replied, voice low and rough. “My past—it’s not something anyone should have to deal with. Least of all you.”

“Bucky,” you said firmly, your fingers tightening slightly around his. “Your past doesn’t define you. It’s a part of your story, yes, but it’s not who you are now. Who you are to me.”

He turned then, his blue eyes shadowed but searching. You held his gaze, unflinching, your expression a mixture of patience and love.

“Do you know what I see when I look at you?” you asked, your voice softening. “I see someone who’s survived the unimaginable and still chooses to keep fighting. Someone kind, someone brave, and someone who makes the world better just by being in it.”

Bucky’s lips parted, but whatever he wanted to say got lost in the tremble of his breath. You reached up, your fingers brushing lightly over his jaw.

“You don’t have to do this alone,” you repeated, your voice breaking slightly. “I’m here for you, no matter how dark it gets. Let me help you carry the weight. That’s what love is, Bucky—it’s sharing the burden.”

A faint, fragile smile pulled at the corner of his mouth, and though his eyes were still glassy with emotion, the storm within them seemed to quiet just a little.

“I don’t deserve you,” he whispered, his voice barely audible.

“Too bad,” you teased gently, leaning in to rest your forehead against his. “Because you’re stuck with me.”

For the first time that night, a soft chuckle escaped him, and though it was fleeting, it was enough. Enough to remind him that he wasn’t alone. And that no matter how heavy his burdens felt, there would always be someone willing to share the load.

The last thing I wrote is actually for a request I got. I'm still working on it, but there will be a lot of feelings involved. 🫣

"Dean?" Y/N's weak voice bled over the engine of the Impala while she kept pressing the towel on her shoulder. "I have to tell you... something..."

"Don't speak now. You need all your energy that's left in you, sweetheart. Just stay awake, will you?"

Dean's knuckles once again became white while he was holding the steering wheel. He also increased the speed he was driving at. The hospital was not far away anymore, but she had lost a lot of blood by now and that was what really worried him.

"But I... have to tell... you." She said again, but her mind became foggy and she started to feel sleepy. The adrenaline slowly fading away.

You are honestly too kind, you’re words really made me blush and I just have to think you because it’s comments like this that really keep me writing sometimes when I doubt myself.

I was hooked on Joe from the very first ep with that reveal about his dad and the belt, the way he’s developed as a character on the series has been wonderful and I can’t wait to see where they take him.

I HC Joe as someone who thrives on touch and physical contact, he finds it very reassuring from his partner. I feel like he’s a bit touch starved sometimes as he’s quite isolated there in NY with no family and we never really see him talking about friends.

That’s exactly my experience of girl chats, esp when you call someone out and I used to have a chat called that once upon a time.

I’m really glad you enjoyed the piece and that it made your weekend, it was a very fun challenge to try out!

I have no idea if this is correct based on the NSFW rumor post (so if it's not, I'm sorry!) but immediately I thought of Joe Velasco and Reader. I've got SVU on the brain atm due to my binging the whole show (can you believe there are some episodes I still haven't seen? It feels like a crime in itself) and I'm still in season 1, just finishing the episode that featured BDSM and other things. Anyways, I was thinking for the rumor, we know canon Joe is looking to make a connection with someone and how he would be most likely during a sexual encounter. But what if the rumor was that Joe liked things rough or had a kink or something like that?

Again, I'm sorry if I'm not doing this right or even if you would be interested, but I just figured I'd give it a shot. 😊

I have this seasons eps to watch and then I think I’m all caught up.

So here’s what I came up with regarding that rumour:

You’re getting coffee on your way into work when you hear the rumour about Joe. your phone chimes and you pull open your Bad Ass Bitchez chat you have with a few other women in the precinct and there it is sitting on your screen.

About how he likes to leave bruises on his conquests, that he tends to get a little rough.

You know where it’s coming from, the cousin of one of junior detectives had a couple of dates with him a few months ago but it didn’t go anywhere. She’d tried to start things up again recently after they’d run into each other at the gym but he’d told her he was seeing someone, that it was starting to get serious.

Your cousin has a history of making up stuff,  You type back into the chat. Maybe remind her she could be ruining a good cop’s career with those half-truths of hers.

There’s silence after that but you know you’ve made your point.

When you lay eyes on Joe sitting at his desk, you know he’s heard it. His head’s bowed, his shoulders slouched as he focuses on the report in front of him, trying to make himself as invisible as possible.

Your palm comes to rest on the nape of his neck, your thumb tracing a soothing circle underneath that sensitive spot just underneath his ear. He sighs at the sensation, his muscles relaxing as he tilts his head up towards you.

“It’s bullshit.” He informs you, meeting your gaze. “You know me, you know I can’t stand the thought of hurting someone like that…”

You do know that, because you know Joe, his history, the type of man he is. You’re the one he spends his nights with, the one he makes love to in the early mornings as the sun starts to filter through the blinds.

“Keep your chin up.” You murmur, your hand shifting to his shoulder squeezing lightly. “The truth will come out, I’ll make sure of it.”

5 Things you will always find in my Fics

Thank you my lovely @aylacavebear for tagging me! 😃 This is so interesting. Let's see...

1. Writing in third person: I will always write in third person. That's what I feel most comfortable with. It's actually how I like to read a story the most too.

2. Romance/Drama: There will always be feelings involved. I can't go without the longing and pining or just two idiots in love. Because love is the most powerful, right?

3. Cliffhangers: One of the most exciting things to write. It's so much fun and it keeps the reader interested in what's going to happen next. I could write a cliffhanger for every chapter ending, but I don't want to be to cruel.

4. Plot twists: It's never how you assume it is. You think you got it? Look again.

5. Change of POV: You will always get to read both sides. That's the way for me to show change and character developement. And it gives you the opportunity to struggle with them.

5 THINGS YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND IN MY FICS

2. Stream of consciousness - lots of inner monologues weaved into the action.

3. Short, punchy sentences mixed amongst longer descriptive ones.

4. Humour, puns and pop culture references, even when the thing is supposed to be serious. I’m Australian, I can’t help myself.

5. Which leads to Aussie English. You can pry my u in humour, colour and favourite out of my cold dead hands. There will be no Z in organise or realise (and it’s pronounce zed, though I’ll admit I do interchange to zee sometimes - damn it Sesame Street).

Butcher’s muscles rippled over his bare chest and broad shoulders with every swing of the mighty axe down to the earth, each strike against the wood sending chips of bark flickering in the air around him.

Sweat rolled down his sun kissed skin curving in the dips of his muscular torso, along the tensing muscles of his back, and through the dusting of hair on his chest, before disappearing into the waistband of the dark jeans hung low on his hips that left very little to the imagination.

Heat kisses the skin of your cheeks with your blush the longer you watch him and you bite your lip hard to keep the appreciative sigh of the scene in front of you at bay. But it does little to stop your eyes that rove over the rugged man chopping wood. 

No man his age should look that good...

WRITING GAME

Thanks @supernotnatural2005 and @jollyhunter for tagging me in this little WIP game! 💜

From my understanding, it's posting a "sneak peek" kind of snippet for a current WIP. I released one for Part 2 of Between the City & the Stars (Dean W. x reader 1940s AU) at the end of Part 1, but here's another snippet:

Dean glanced at you in appreciation. You really were beautiful…and not just tonight. Though he had to smile at your “disguise.”

“You think that getup is gonna fool your husband?” he remarked, gesturing at your form.

Your lips pursed, but you kept your head angled towards him, so that your hat and veil continued to hide your face from Michael’s direction.

“It has so far,” you retorted. “And this isn’t a getup.”

You smoothed slightly self-conscious hands down the skirt of your dress. Dean smiled. 

“All right, I’m sorry. Poor choice of words,” he said. He dropped his chin and raised his brows, earning your gaze under the hat. “It’s quite a dress, sweetheart.”

Ooh happy WIP Wednesday! 😍💜 @lamentationsofalonelypotato I LOVE that snippet loll, and I love how you write Russell. I legit cannot wait to read that.^

Here's a snippet for a one-shot I've been working on in the Break Me Down-verse - Soldier Boy x Reader, set during the reader's second pregnancy (so after Calculated Risks lol). This one is tentatively called, "I've Got You."

But now, you grasped Ben’s shirt and brought him down to you for another kiss. This time you led him deeper, luring him with your tongue slipping into his mouth. A groan of approval caught in the back of his throat, even though his brows furrowed in slight confusion.

“What’s all this?” he asked, his voice rougher, but still teasing as he squeezed your waist. “You done puking day and night, complaining about my dick and balls being the reason you can’t fit into your jeans?”

His lips brushed along your jawline, a tantalizing sensation, even though you could feel his smirk. You rolled your eyes.

“Charming,” you said flatly. “Just for that, I should leave you to stroke your blue balls for another night.”

Ben chuckled, but he also called your bluff, beginning to graze down your neck, his tongue flicking along the shell of your ear. You shuddered at the pleasurable zing of sensation.

“Seriously, you feeling good?” he asked.

You felt the hesitation in his lips, which pressed a real kiss in the juncture between your neck and shoulder. You smiled.

“Maybe,” you teased back. “And I might be craving more than oatmeal cream pies and Thai chili peppers this time.”

WIP Wednesday

In honor of WIP Wednesday, I decided to drop just a little something from my latest project. A Russell Shaw x Reader prompt for my prompt celebration that I've decided to call "I Can Explain!"

Your eyes trace over his body, just a quick glance, but snags on his arms for just a second too long to be casual. They were even more glorious in person, tan and flecked with cinnamon colored freckles hidden beneath twisting tattoos that disappeared into his dark shirt sleeves.

“Hi.” You smile shyly at the man when you meet his gaze.

“Hi.” He rumbles with an easy smile while the green of his eyes flashes in the neon sign hanging behind the bar.

His voice catches you off guard. You weren't expecting it to be so smooth, silk over your skin, but also like the rough drag of the ocean against sand as it pulls it out to sea.

“Hi.” You say again as all other thoughts evaporate from you mind and you fight the urge to facepalm.

What the hell am I doing over here? I might as well do the walk of shame back to my own table. 

Russell raises an eyebrow, his smile widening. “Hi.” He echoes.

You open your mouth-

“Before you say hi back sweetheart, why don’t you tell me what you’re drinking instead?” He winks making your cheeks warm with their flush…
