Does anyone else win an ARC and then read it after the book has been out for a while? That's what happened with Say You'll Remember Me. I won it in a Goodreads giveaway and was super stoked that I won an ARC but then I forgot about it until this summer. This was a super fun beach read and I loved reading about not just a forbidden romance but also the forbidden puppy. 😂😭 QOTD: What's your favorite book you've read this summer? Day 12 of #cloudyapril17 is hugs and kisses. I love a good love story, or even friendship! While I don't read romance novels straight, I like to have a bit of romance in a story- it makes me happy 😄 Also, I noticed today the tag #booksnotbullies and I absolutely wanted to participate, so here are my blue books! @thebookshelffairy tagged me to do #20factsaboutme! I love Game of Thrones and The Magicians on TV, but I haven't read either series (yet!). 6. My favorite flowers are orchids. 7. I have 1 brother and 2 sisters. 8. My husband is 1 of 6 siblings, so holidays are quite busy but also a lot of fun! 9. I've been writing a book with my bestie for about 7 years. 10. We're determined to finish that book this summer! 11. I started writing poetry in 5th grade. 12. I love cats but I'm super allergic. 13. I will have a Masters in Psychology this May! 14. I absolutely love playing softball and I wish I played more in college. 15. I've been in Bowling leagues and Dart leagues and had so much fun in both! 16. This series has been on my TBR for a while, but I finally read it! Overall, I thought it was an okay series. I found the world to be super interesting, but the plot dragged on for a little in the last book, and I kept on getting frustrated with the main characters because they never say how they were being manipulated. QOTD: Favorite book in this series? AOTD: It's a tie between Monsters of Men and The Knife of Never Letting Go. Doesn't it feel satisfying when you finally read some books that have been on your TBR forever? 😂 I still have so many books on my TBR that I want to read but these are some that I finally got to after having them on my TBR for a long time. All of these books were just amazing! To Kill a Kingdom lived up to the height and I'm so happy I finally got to read it when my library got a copy after me having a hold on it for six months. 🙄 The Last Namsara was super interesting and I can't wait to see how the rest of the series plays out. Muse of Nightmares was just freaking amazing! Laini Taylor does such an amazing job at creating beautiful universes and complex characters and I just love reading her books! So it's been a hot second since I posted here. 😅 I've just been super busy and couldn't decide on a theme, but I got some new lights for Christmas and I am super excited to bring back this theme. Anyway, this was one of my favorite reads in 2017 and I know it came out a while ago but I feel like nobody ever talks about it. This book was just so fun but tied many serious issues together and I absolutely adore it! The characters are super fun and the entire plot is super interesting! "Boy you got me helpless!"~Hamilton I've listened to a ton of musicals but I think Hamilton will always be one of my favorites. Every time I listen to it, I find something new that makes me fall in love with it all over again. You could say that I'm helpless. 😏 Anyway, I have yet to read Love and War but I loved Alex and Eliza! Hamilton is great but it doesn't pull you entirely into the time period and I feel like Melissa De La Cruz did a great job writing about their romance and resign the reader into the time. I love Mary E. Pearson's books! I reread the Jenna Fox Chronicles earlier this year, and I forgot how much the ending makes me cry. So I haven't watched the new season of Trinkets, but I have watched Julie and the Phantoms and it was AMAZING! I've had this book for almost a year now, and I JUST recently read it. It has the same premise of the show, but they are very different. The book was a fun, easy book to read, but the show adds a lot more diversity and goes more in depth about the issues in this book. So let's talk about cover changes in the Embers in the Ashes series. The original covers of the first two books are gorgeous and very aesthetically pleasing, but I don't mind the cover changes too much. I am not too found of the new cover for Embers but the covers for Torch and Reaper are still really pretty. I mostly love the focus on Helene.
