Consider this an announcement, a heralding of an ending coming, and that this ending will be a blessing. My colleagues and I at the International Association for the Preservation of Spiritualist and Occult Periodicals (it’s a real thing—see IAPSOP.com!) have been running to ground the earliest astrologers of the Industrial Era in the US and UK, and tracing out the evolutionary steps over the last 200 years that brought the ancient practice of astrology to the modern world. It’s a long way to go from the back alleys of 19th-century London to the American New Age underground, but it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve posted a few early horoscope calculators recently, but let’s jump to the other end of the spectrum of astrological artifacts with this: the “Olympia E.S.P. Board” by the Olympia Specialty Company of New York, who produced this board in the 1960s. As you can see, it has taken on all the trappings of the Age of Aquarius heyday, with the main letter spread surrounded by the constellations of the twelve signs of the zodiac. The planchette takes on my favorite theme for a talking board indicator—a mystic hand—and the set even came with a small 45 record called “Music to Play E.S.P. By.” It’s a great cultural artifact from an era that marked a massive resurgence in astrology and interest in the occult, and follows form with talking board manufacturers utilizing the most popular esoteric themes of the era. When You Don’t Know Who Your Ancestors Are  Reasons for not knowing one’s ancestors may vary; perhaps you’re adopted, maybe you’re estranged from your family, or perhaps one of your parents or grandparents are for one reason or another unknown. How then, can one connect with their ancestors? There are several ways to work with them and discover who they are.   🕯You May Not Know Who They Are, But They Know Who You Are 🕯  It’s important to remember that our Blood Ancestors know who we are, even if we don’t know who they are. They are a part of us and invested in our lives as part of their continued legacy. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t know who they are right away, they’re still there and willing to work with you and guide you. In my experience our most helpful and powerful ancestors are usually not the ones we knew in life but more likely several generations back.   🕯Seek Out reputable readers 🕯  Find reputable readers/diviners and ask them to connect with your ancestors or see who they bring through.  🕯Call Upon Your Ancestors 🕯  Create a contact with your ancestors even if you don’t know who they are. In my work, we make offerings to “unknown and forgotten ancestors” as well as those we by name. Calling upon them is an invitation for them to be more active in your life.
