All of Michael Powell’s films seem to be a love letter to England. In 1937’s The Edge Of The World, Powell’s first big feature film, we’re on the Scottish island of Hirta, although the film was shot on Foula of the Shetland Islands. The plot is simple and the movie is short but the scenery is beautiful and the characters endearing.
