karkat is patently bad at all of those things. even if he isnt in the same room hes still likely audible moving around wherever he is, hes too noisy to move anywhere with any ounce of stealth if he isnt trying to, and the majority of his personality revolves around being emotionally transparent almost to a fault how on earth could anyone read the entirety of homestuck and think that a loud, caring, emotional character would in any way remind dave of his experiences with a silent, violent, emotionally unreadable guardian. thanks for comign to my ted talk

i went to a queer comedy panel at podcon (called "how to create straight characters") and the whole thing was a good time but then the very last question directly and accurately talked about asexual and aromantic rep in media and i just. that's me. that was a whole room of like 200 queer people laughing with and relating to me and my struggles. we aren't excluded.

unpopular opinion, but i think GO! wasn't actually the old alpha timeline. it was a doomed timeline, made so by aranea trying to "fix" everything (she even told meenah it was doomed). We didn't actually get to see the alpha timeline other than the masterpiece, but it's moot anyway since john suddenly came out of nowhere and overwrote everything. it works nicely with the theme of doomed/dead characters forcing their way into relevancy.

OH! that’s actually rlly interesting? so like:

so the timeline we witnessed (game over) was a doomed one and we weren’t following the actual alpha timeline, in which the masterpiece happened (im guessing in that timeline they were planning to stop caliborn while he was caliborn before even becoming lord english, but ended up causing the juju to come in to existence instead)

due to john’s retcon powers affecting and subverting paradox space’s rules of alpha timelines though, his alterations to the doomed timeline he was in created a secondary alpha timeline (separate form the actual alpha timeline in which the masterpiece happened) where the characters could live and be happy in the new universe, while the juju still existing due to it being brought in to existence in the other timeline (but still working, as jujus transcend the whole separate timelines thing?)

this year, i got in contact with someone I used to know from christian children's theater, discovered we were both queer, and then we went to podcon together and spent hours being queer and discussing toxic Youth Group Culture and it was great.

if the cutscenes are skipping for you try saving and then closing/reopening the game. sometimes it loads in wrong and all of the graphics are wonky. sometimes thats fixed just by exiting to the menu or restarting but some people have had to actually reinstall the game. :/

I might have to try reinstalling then because I did the closing/reopening thing :(

i thought that laser-y sound was just the pile hitting the forcefield around the portal

lemme give it a replay!

when this load lifter hits the force field (event not actually pictured here, because like, as if), it makes more of a zappy sound than a lasery one. it makes a similar sound when you touch it.

when the pile of guns and drums gets dropped (also not really pictured happening here; i was sluggish to find my Print Screen key and also im really only putting pictures here so this doesn’t seem like ‘guy describes some sounds he heard: the post) it definitely makes more of a ‘pchew pchew’ sound. What convinces me is that it’s accompanied with the sounds of cymbals clashing, which implies that it’s the items making the sounds, not the force field.

There are a rare handful of bare bullets scattered around the hive, and while that invalidates my initial point that the guns might not use bullets, I still think there’s good evidence to suggest they’re, like, laser bullets or something.
