“You are a monster.” Kanin’s deep voice droned in my head again, as I forced myself to move, to walk away. “You will always be a monster, there is no turning back from it. But what type of monster you become is entirely up to you.” ― Julie Kagawa, The Immortal Rules 🍃 Like peanut butter and chocolate, this book shouldn't have worked for me l, as I don't read vampire books and I don't mix salty and sweet.. But it did! Just like that heavenly combination, this book and I were a perfect match! Loved loved loved it! 🍃 #juliekagawa #theimmortalrules #bloodofeden #bloodofedenseries #coverlove #booklove #fortheloveofbooks #dystopia #fantasy #ya #cititoridinromania #cititoripasionati #eucitesc

Holiday Reading
So I am back from my holiday and I had a very productive time reading. I read each of the nine books I planned to, and I also read an ebook that I managed to download. Below you will find my rating of each book, and a quick comment about why I gave it that rating.
1. Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver: 4 out of 5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. I completely didn’t see the HUGE plot twist in this book, which never usually happens to me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time reading it, and I’m going to hang on to it so that I have another chance to see the plot twist coming.
2. Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman: 1.5 out of 5 stars. This book has been on my TBR for ages so I really wanted to love it. I liked the characters, and the storyline, but there were major flaws for me. I feel like there are many books that manage the two groups of people in society with one having higher power, with no mention of how they happen to be classed. This book focused too much on race for me, which drew from the story as I got easily frustrated by the smallest pieces of the story.
3. Nightshade by Andrea Cremer: 1 out of 5 stars. This book actually made me angry. I was so disappointed in all of the choices made by Calla. She was such a stupid and unlikable character to me that I didn't enjoy the book. (I do have a spoiler-filled review on my Goodreads profile).
4. It Had To Be You by Ellie Adams: 3 out of 5 stars. I don’t really have much to say about this book. I enjoyed it, it was a cute summer romance read, but there was nothing additional to that for me. I found the characters really likeable and I was invested in the story. If I saw another Ellie Adams book in the charity shop again I would pick it up, but I don’t think I’d hunt her out as an author.
  5. The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa: 3 out of 5 stars. Definitely not the best vampire book around but I enjoyed my time reading it. I don’t really have much more to say about it; I liked the new idea of the world but there was nothing absolutely amazing about this book.
  6. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell: 4 out of 5 stars. I wanted to absolutely love this book because of the hype it gets through Booktube/Bookstagram etc, but I didn’t love it quite that much. I really liked it, and I thought the concept was really cool, but the snippets of fanfiction and the books they are based off didn’t really do anything for me. I tended to skip them in the end unless Cath was reading them aloud, and I don’t think that detracted from the story at all. That being said this is going to be a permanent feature on my bookshelf for the foreseeable future.
  7. This Secret We’re Keeping by Rebecca Done: 3.5 out of 5 stars. I really liked this book, but there's just a couple of things that I'd wanted to be different, mostly with the actual storyline. I did like how the chapters were written, with present day Jess and past Matthew, it was easy to follow.
  8. You Can Run by Steve Mosby: 2 out of 5 stars. I branched out here and read something that I wouldn’t normally pick up. Not my cup of tea - but I did finish it. Passed it on to my Mum because I thought she'd enjoy it more than I did.
  9. I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson: 5 out of 5 stars. This was the ebook I picked up On finishing it I had to order a physical copy immediately. I absolutely loved this book - I thought it was entertaining and I loved the two perspectives of Jude and Noah. I will have to read this again to have some more profound thoughts on it.
So on that note, I did order some books to arrive on my return home.

I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson.
Goodreads rating: 4.13
Number of pages: 429
As I previously stated, I read this book in ebook format while I was on holiday. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars and had to buy myself a physical copy.
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
Goodreads rating: 4.29
Number of pages: 525
If you haven’t heard of this book, where on earth have you been?! This has been on my Amazon wishlist since it became known on booktube and it was finally in a good deal when I purchased I’ll Give You The Sun so I had to grab it!
Scythe by Neil Shusterman
Goodreads rating: 4.35
Number of pages: 435
Again I’ve wanted to pick this book up for a while now. While I was purchasing a birthday present for a friend (which I won’t list here in case she sees it!) there was a good deal on adding a certain value of books so I made sure to pop this in here.
Perfect Chemistry by Simon Elkeles
Goodreads rating: 4.07
Number of pages: 368
I don’t really know too much about this book, but why not give it a try?!
That’s about everything from me now - remember to follow my Goodreads to see what I read, when I read it. I also have a Twitter account linked to this blog, which is @ChloeReadsBooks.

The MORTAL INSTRUMENTS series has come to an epic finale.
The end of story from the SHADOW WORLD is here.
CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE has been mind-blowing ending to one of the greatest YA book series ever written. Cassandra Clare is a pure genius!
