It’s so funny to me that Shuro’s company made Laios that happy.

And then later it’s like, Shuro ate rice every meal? “omg shuro loved rice [sentimental]”

Shuro hug? SHOCK. FLABBERGASTED. Friendship RECIPROCATED???

Laios just thinks Shuro is the coolest person ever, and that opinion surprisingly never changes.

And I’m all for fights that lead to stronger friendships. There’s a politeness/barrier that doesn’t really go away until you fight with someone. I’m not saying fights are good, I would rather do anything else than fight with my friends. But I will say my closer friendships all had their tough spots. You work through them together.

Sho has absolutely no idea who Beat is. I mean come on, the guy barely had object permanence for Neku when Joshua was in sight. There's absolutely no way he remembered some random dude he pummeled in the middle of his little steroid-induced manic fit of violence when Beat himself needed Fret's remind. As far as he's concerned the guy spawned in from the ether vehemently hating his guts and yknow what? Get in line. Like 85% of people in the UG are pissed off at him for some reason or other, one more makes no difference to him.

That line of battle dialogue they have that's like "Guess we gotta work together" / "What? You got a problem with that?" is actually 100% genuine on Sho's part he's just too proud to admit it.

2 thoughts that have been giving me the price/saoirse brainworms and they are

the realization that saoirse is the "i'm not ready" to john's "i'll wait," and how he 100% does lowkey delude himself into thinking he'll get the girl eventually. starts making arrangements involving a house in the countryside and everything. before they officially start seeing each other.

saoirse, as a joke, wrote a "person of the year" style article about john after the events of mw19 that's essentially a 5k word roast of him. it was originally just meant to circulate around her little group of journalist friends, but it eventually found its way across his desk. he hangs the "article" on the wall in his office and will skim through it for a laugh (also the photo saoirse used as the "cover photo" is one she took herself of him smoking a cigar with some very nice backlighting that casts him in silhouette and it's just a very artsy photo of him and he likes it)
