When Frank laid his head on Jake’s chest, it felt safe.

It was hard for him to understand at first, but eventually he realized that it was safety that he was feeling. Jake’s presence made him feel safe and protected, which was funny considering their pasts.

He’d shoved on one of Jake’s sweatshirts, and curled up next to him on the surprisingly comfortable hotel bed.

Something he liked about Jake was that he could just lay there next to him, and Jake would continue on with whatever he was doing. He could be vulnerable with him without Jake making some big deal about it, and they’d carry on conversations like nothing was happening. 

Jake leaned over and kissed the top of his head. 

“Are you hungry?” He asked, scrolling through a list of restaurants on his phone, “You didn’t eat much today, we should probably get a snack at least.”
