Unfortunately yes I would smash especially in the era of my life when I first read the books. I am not immune to someone dangerous who disregards most of the world wanting to smash me, it's like the same reason why people read mafia romances. Like I know the sex won't be good and I know there's a nonzero chance he'll make me put a bag over my head and call me Ronan and I know he'll act like a sexist twat and give me no aftercare except for drugs but I will smash. It'll make my life worse in the long run but my legs will open for him.

I like my comics Jay hairy, but for some reason I always picture AK Jay as waxed (probably has something to do with vulnerability). BUT imagine mostly hairless AK Jay with a dark black happy trail and bushy black pubes........

Not really? I've gotten some "I wish you'd write this", or some misguided comments but not hate.

What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I genuinely want to finish Dead to Rights, but I paused it indefinitely when I got pregnant, and I won't pick it back up until the topic of difficult pregnancies/risk of miscarriage stops squicking me out. I love it a lot, and there's a lot I want to say there, but the Creature will need to grow a bit bigger before I'm comfy writing it again.

What’s your writing strengths?

Uh. No idea, actually. I feel like I struggle with everything haha. Possibly writing banter? Not sure...

What’s your writing weaknesses?

EVERYTHING, if you ask me. Though the thing I struggle with the most is endings. It is SO HARD to find a good stopping point that doesn't ring hollow.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Not a full dialogue. A couple of sentences at most. I mean, I'm a native French speaker, so I could do a full conversation, but honestly I find it so unpleasant to read I wouldn't put it in my works.

Favourite first watches

I was tagged by @silenthillmutual to list my favorite first watches of june - which was a no-brainer for me! If you follow me on Letterboxd you might have noticed that I went a bit crazy watching new movies every other week this year. In June alone I watched 7 new movies and finished/started 2 new shows. So without further ado here are my faves:

(one of these is not like the others lmao - I'll give you a hint: it's the only one that's a predominantly white Anglo production 😂)

Joyland (2022) dir. Saim Sadiq

A mesmerising look into the lives of 3 disenchanted people living under the patriarchy of Lahore, Pakistan. It was banned in the province of Punjab, where the story takes place, so you know it definitely hit a nerve. Bonus points for the trans character actually being played by a trans actress. Can't recommend this enough!

Monkey Man (2024) dir. Dev Patel

I saw it opening night in Hong Kong with a homie. The action sequences are its high points but it surprised me in its approach to portraying gender and community too. I shan't say more and spoil it too much!

Derry Girls (2018 - 2022)

1×01 is hands down the best comedy pilot I've ever seen. I fell in love with this show at first watch.

Masters of the Air (2024)

I've got 1 episode left to go but it definitely holds up. The emotional story beats hit and well...it helps that the cast is very easy on the eyes 😁
