Have you seen any ancient Harappan City ? Now that Mohenjo-Daro is in Pakistan, the easy option is Dholavira in Gujarat. No no.. Not a coastal state.. It's Punjab. :) Harike Pattan is one of the two wetlands in Punjab recognised by Ramsar Convention. The other one is Kanjali(in my hometown Kapurthala). This one is also not that far from my place. Migratory Birds are often sighted here and recently authorities were thinking of introducing some Alligators here. Ashoka gave up violence here after the Kalinga War ! So when I was in Odisha, mommy called me up and told me that there is a Shanti Stupa there, do visit. My mommy watches too much heritage stuff on TV and YouTube. Well I am glad that she does 🙂 This stupa is right on top of a hill and visible from the highway on the left side while coming from Puri to Bhubaneswar. Though built in 20th century only, but still worth a visit.
