websites and apps to watch bl? i can't find many unique ones nowadays, thank u!
Hi! 😊
Let's see...
There's viki for a lot of Thai & Korean BLs and some Japanese and Taiwanese BLs as well - some of which can be watched for free (mostly the first few eps though). The sub is priced super reasonably (I'm paying 5,40€ per month in Europe) and their catalogue is HUGE.
Then there's gagaoolala which is a Taiwanese streaming platform exclusively for queer content. Their sub is a bit more pricey and there's some catalogue overlap with viki (so tbh I'd recommend going for viki if you only want to pay for one app) but you're supporting a queer app and that's always a plus.
There's also always youtube. Many Thai (and now Korean) production houses upload their shows for free (some geolocking may apply), subbed and in great quality on their own channels. The biggest ones are probably gmmtv, studio wabi sabi, star hunter, idolfactory, mandee & me mind y. Sometimes you have to join (=sub to) their channel so you can watch their shows and that can become expensive, especially if you want to watch shows from several different channels. There's also lots of smaller production houses that upload their shows for free. It's super confusing sometimes to find stuff but luckily there's twitter accs like world-of-bl and bl-update who keep track of what's currently running and also post links.
There's also iqiyi, wetv & aisplay but I'm not currently subbed to any of them. iqiyi is probably the best option if you're in NA. They're the ones with Kinnporsche and all of the uncut stuff. They also like to geolock most of their BLs so if you're in Europe and don't want to use a VPN then I can't recommend it (I suppose it's always worth it for a month to binge Kinnporsche).
I haven't subbed to wetv before but they have some stuff you can watch for free (with one week of delay for shows that are currently running).
aisplay is probably the worst of the bunch. Unless you're in Thailand. I've subbed to their youtube channel before so I could watch Oh! My Sunshine Night and War of Y but tbh I wouldn't bother. It's not worth it.
There's some older stuff (and less and less new stuff) that's not available anywhere - especially if you're an interfan. There's grey streaming sites like my/asian/tv or drama/cool (minus the /) for that but I urge you to watch through official channels whenever possible because bl isn't exactly mainstream and less people watching will directly lead to fewer new productions.

With all the recent VOD asks - and as an interested person in the topic of archiving - how many old VODs have you managed to find? And do you have any tips for finding downloads / archives?
It varies a lot per streamer.
You’ll find a few specific ones on archive (and usually pretty important ones! That’s where I found Karl’s November 16 vod and I think Niki’s birthday party might be there iirc?)
Maybe I’ll make a proper guide post at some point on how to find ‘em with recommendations for channels, but for now I’ll just make a way-too-long answer to this ask and dump this here for the time being, since I know every time I say “I’ll make a proper post” I never get around to it lol
Okay. So.
You can usually find vods spread out on YouTube over multiple different archive channels. Some, like Fundy and Badboyhalo, have extremely well-organized and thorough unofficial archive channels that have everything laid out super easily.
Pro tip! Don’t search “Fundy VODs” on YouTube because that will only get you to Fundy’s official channel, which -- no offense to Fundy -- is...lacking...
Instead, search “Fundy stream archive” and you’ll find the comprehensive unofficial channel. Fundy stream archive my beloved -- it has everything.
It’s a bit of an unfortunate and ironic situation whenever a streamer’s official VODs channel accidentally makes the more extensive unofficial ones harder to find :’)
Others, like Jack Manifold and Tubbo, are more difficult to locate since there aren’t really any single-streamer archive channels that are super extensive (though recently, a new JM one has popped up, so if that one continues it could be a good resource -- it just doesn’t have a lot yet)
(Also I swear if I get ONE more person coming to me because of this post saying that Tubbo has a VODs channel I’m gonna punch a wall /lh)
(I love you all and I know you mean well but akj;ldfshgslka;as;fjkldghtubbopleasegetapropervodschanneliswear)
The Karl Jacobs VOD playlist is now unlisted for whatever reason but still accessible as long as you have a link! (pssst...just gonna slide it here real quick)
Tommy’s first-day Dream SMP VOD got privated for some reason. I luckily had a copy downloaded so I tried uploading it to YT, but it got blocked worldwide :/ So not entirely sure what to do about that. I’ve still got the file at least?
Tommy’s VODs channel is amazing, though, and including the first day VOD I can only think of a couple other VODs that have gone missing due to specific reasons, so you can find Tommy’s POV extremely easily. Same with Quackity, Awesamdude’s VODs channel is great too.
Phil and Techno are both A-ok in the archive game. Techno’s got a playlist that’s easy to find, and Phil's got archives of all his VODs directly on Twitch. No problem finding any of theirs.
Antfrost and Puffy are the only two that I’ve really run into problems finding. A helpful anon let me know that thankfully, Antfrost’s bathwater lore stream VOD is available on archive and it looks like a few others are on there too. More recently I’ve found people who are archiving Puffy’s VODs (thank goodness), but I made sure to start trying to preserve Puffy’s VODs and Ant’s Eggpire lore streams myself from January 14 onwards. I’m not the best at it so the VODs are kinda scuffed, but it’s better than nothing and I’m trying to figure out a good system. They’re currently unlisted rn but if you need a stream link, just lmk
I believe Flypaw? has a bunch of Eret’s old VODs saved, but not sure if they’ve been able to upload them anywhere
Other than that, Eret, Tubbo, and Jack Manifold’s August VODs are pretty much Void Zone unfortunately. I put together one of Eret’s VODs from clips alone and got around an hour of footage recovered, but piecing everything together is extremely time consuming and I haven’t done it for any others since :/
(Tubbo literally put a six-minute clip of one of the most important Disc War VODs from August on his VODs channel but not the actual full thing...
Tubbo...Tubbo why...causing me nothing but Pain :’)
As long as you have the date located, though, you can usually search up the date with the streamer on youtube and find that specific VOD, if it’s not one of the Void Zones. The hardest part is just knowing what date to search for tbh, since stream titles can be kinda vague sometimes.
Which is where the fanbase comes in!
Not just recaps or word-of-mouth, even livetweets on Twitter can help you figure out the specific date that something happened.
Hope this helped some? This is a mess of a post, I’m so so sorry, I just kinda spit this out out of nowhere huh
Anyways, this goes for everyone -- by all means, send me asks n stuff about VODs! I might not be able to find everything or respond to every one, but there’s not really an easy system for finding this stuff, so I don’t mind doing a bit of searching for you all!
(PS: if anyone knows where you can find Sapnap’s storytime stream, because it’s gone missing yet again...I would be so very grateful)

Preferences: Guilty Pleasures
Characters: Okoye, Lucifer Morningstar, Dewey Finn, Peter B. Parker, Ahkmenrah
Tumblr media
Okoye
Tumblr media
Okoye is straightforward and stony upon first impressions. And, admittedly, even afterward. The only real difference is that, if one gets to know her better, they might find shock in the fact that in spite of her appearance, she Dora leader actually likes sweets. However, it’s not sweet things in general that Okoye feels guilty for enjoying: It’s Starbucks.
Starbucks is the antithesis of everything Okoye is associated with: Supremely un-Wakandan, a chain establishment, and overall just not worth the absurd cost. Not to mention superbly unhealthy when compared to the rest of a fighter’s typical diet. But yet you can bet that every time she needs to go out of the country or off-continent, there’s an invasive shout for joy at the possibility that she might be able to get her hands on a Frappucino (followed by an internal scolding).
She can’t even explain exactly why she likes it; there are plenty of good, even healthier sweet things back in Wakanda -- heck, back anywhere else!
But it’s a bit like when someone craves the cheap taste of school pizza over a legit pie cooked in a stone hearth: She just loves the sugary sweetness, the application of whipped cream to an already tooth-rottingly saccharine icy drink, the addition of chocolate. But Bast, she also hates it. But ever since T’Challa practically shoved a grande cup of caramel frappucino into her hands, she hasn’t felt entirely the same.
Against her better judgement, she’s more or less unintentionally tried 45% of the menu drink-wise. She doesn’t particularly care much for the food part of the establishment, though if she should ever find herself in one during the fall, she might indulge in a chunky slice of pumpkin bread under the conviction that it’s healthy enough for being gourd-related. Never mind that it’s just a cinnamon mixture with more sugar than actual pumpkin-derived anything.
Really, of all those mentioned on this list, Okoye is the one who probably feels the most disappointed in herself whenever she indulges in her guilty pleasure: It’s a betrayal to her patriotism, to her dignity, and to her attempts to eat healthy. But damn, if this type of betrayal doesn’t taste so addicting . . .
Tumblr media
Lucifer Morningstar
Tumblr media
The thing about Lucifer is that it’s actually a bit hard for him to feel any regrets over liking anything; he’s the Devil, after all, so his whole thing is about embracing the things that make you feel good. And even besides that, he’s mostly managed to skate by in his time on Earth by categorizing things as Stuff He Likes, Stuff He Tolerates, Stuff He Doesn’t Bother With, and Stuff Humans Seem to Enjoy But He Doesn’t Quite Get. It’s a tad restricted of a system but you can’t argue with results.
However, just because something is difficult doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. The Devil can, in fact, recognize absurdity in liking certain things. Hence why, to a point, he’s fallen prey to his own bizarre pleasures: The Devil has guilty pleasures, and it’s in stupid YouTube videos, Vine, and TikTok.
After he finally drank the Kool-Aid and got himself a smart phone, it was only a matter of time before Lucifer fell down the rabbit hole that is YouTube prank videos and strange uploads about nonsense and animal humor. It was also only a matter of time before he found himself stumbling into Vine compilations. The Celestial is terrifically mystified by the creative power of humans, managing to tell entire stories and peak comedy in only a span of seven seconds. But he’s also quite loathe to have realized it’s been long defunct by the time he’s discovered it.
He’s even more loathe to find himself making references in his daily life: He has actually quietly blurted out, “I sure hope it does” in response to seeing a Road Work Ahead sign, causing Chloe some confusion (and Lucifer lots of embarrassment). He has referred to a culprit as “Jared, Age 19″. Since discovering Vine, there has been at least one night wherein he and a bed mate were sitting there with barbecue sauce on his tiddies, but that was by sheer coincidence.
But eventually the Vine compilation well dried up, and the inevitable transfer over to TikTok happened. And Luci honestly doesn’t know what to make of TikTok. He would describe it as Vine’s Molly-addicted cousin based on its obsession with dancing, but the dances are so stationary that even that doesn’t seem quite right. The videos on the platform are also much more . . . bizarre. And some of them admittedly trigger a fight-or-flight response in him, to which he always chooses the third option of freezing if only so he can keep watching the train wreck unfold before his eyes.
The trouble with TikTok, he’ll admit to himself, is that it’s not as easy to find iconic content the same way he could with Vine. However, this isn’t to say that he hasn’t found anything worth watching over and over and over again . . .
(Let’s just say the “Wolf Pack Compilation” lives in his head rent-free, and he’s both too amused by it and too overwhelmed by its vibe to try and evict it.)
Tumblr media
Dewey Finn
Tumblr media
Dewey is . . . a special case. Given that he associates messy living and indulging in one’s pleasure a part of the rocker lifestyle, he’s generally quick to embrace whatever makes him happy. He’s very upfront about his interests and is arguably almost incapable of feeling shame. But it’s in there: Deep down. No, not in himself -- in his Spotify. Specifically, a Spotify account made on an email he never uses because it was made specifically to create this separate, uber secret playlist.
One marked “Actual Musical Bops.”
Dewey hates musicals: They’re cheesy, uninspired, gaudy, ridiculous, totally aimed at chicks with weird fantasies that he could never aspire to, and the music is just overall unimpressive. And yet, somehow, against his music elitist nature, a handful have managed to slip through the cracks. At the very least, a handful of numbers have clawed their way past his defenses and into his ear, where they now live rent-free.
In spite of his best efforts, the problems are that he’s a New Yorker, so it’s inevitable that he hears a song or two; and also that, as an instructor (to wealthy New York tweens whose families can afford frequent tripes to the Great White Way, no less), he’s definitely going to wind up hearing about some shows and their stand-out numbers: Against his will, he knows the lyrics to “My Shot”; he has cried in the secrecy of his apartment to “When I Grow Up”; in the never-necessary reason he needs to remember how many minutes there are in a year, he sings it inside his head; hell, he’s even found himself trying to figure out the electric guitar riff from “The Phantom of the Opera” during his down time.
What’s all the more embarrassing is that, given how he presents himself as a music elitist, there’s just no way he can come back from this if anyone were to know. He has to catch himself when he finds himself humming “Johanna” in the teacher’s lounge. He scowls at himself when he can’t sleep and gives in and starts playing “No One is Alone.” He wants to kick his thick ass every time he realizes he’s excited to have stumbled across a “slime tutorial” on YouTube, this one with better quality than the last. The reason he actually put a password on his phone wasn’t out of privacy like a sensible person would, but out of a need to make sure that no one ever found out that he had downloaded the entire Beetlejuice soundtrack, including jankily-recorded songs that never made it to the official cast recording for whatever reason!
And should anyone ever find out about any of this, Dewey has a plan: “Oh, I’m doing research. I’m studying these songs so I can give the kids a lesson on what not to do as actually competent musicians.”
But the lesson would never actually come. Mainly because he keeps prolonging his “research” . . .
He’s also developed a bit of a soft spot for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic due to some students gushing about it, but he would rather sooner die than ever be associated with the term “brony.”
Tumblr media
Peter B. Parker
Tumblr media
Peter is at a point where he’s too tired to really care about the idea of guilty pleasures. The way he sees it, there are bigger priorities at stake than worrying about someone finding out about your love of some hokey activity or food or form of entertainment.
Besides, he’s a New Yorker: There’s way weirder stuff for people to just not pay any real attention to. Hence why he thinks nothing of his bizarre eating habits. And no, this isn’t referring to his disastrous appetite: This is about his tendency to eat food with his hands. Foods that, well, he really should probably utilize eating utensils for.
To be fair, this habit has always existed in him in some form or another, especially since, as Spider-Man, he often needs to eat food on the go. But during the time he spent living the life of a depressed bachelor, it came out in full force. On the rare occasion he wasn’t eating a food that deserved to be eaten by hand, he often found himself loathing the idea of doing the dishes afterward. There would be days he’d feel only slightly less depressed; enough to make a box of Kraft Mac n Cheese in the pot, but not enough to avoid cutting out the middle man.
He’s thankful the craptastic apartment wasn’t also see-through because if it were, he’s positive his neighbors would’ve thought they were bearing witness to a man’s breakdown as he wept into a pot of macaroni and cheese, his hand full of the stuff, while wearing a Spider-Man costume. (And, to be fair, they actually would be.)
In addition to this, there were also those nights where he would be prepared to actually tuck in to a plate of spaghetti, only for some crime going on elsewhere in the city to drag him away. By the time he’d return, the plate would’ve been cold and his energy too depleted to want to even dream about cleaning more than he already had to.
The great news is that he’s thankfully done a 180, now able and willing (if begrudgingly) to clean up after himself. But bad news is that this feral man will still eat a fully-loaded baked potato like an apple. In a park. In front of women and children. He’s just too tired to care anymore. He’s aware of the guilt in this as a concept, but he’s also aware that he needs to take whatever happiness he can get out of whatever he does. And if that means eating everything by hand, then so be it!
Tumblr media
Ahkmenrah
Tumblr media
Funnily enough, Ahkmenrah doesn’t seem to experience much of any shame for enjoying the things most might feel the need to hide: He’s constantly curious and has missed out on a lot over the centuries, so why should he feel bad for wanting to indulge in them? Celebrity gossip is just a more fun version of the palace gossip he’d grown up hearing as a boy; reality TV is like watching a play, but with much more fights, less deaths, and more faulty romances; and sloppy meatball subs are like a feast for a man of his time!
Besides, he’s a king: Kings shouldn’t have to feel embarrassment over what the common folk might think.
And yet . . . It took some time, but eventually Ahkmenrah did experience it: Guilt in his pleasures.
He couldn’t even recall where it had all started. Maybe he was searching for more content to swallow after the most recent season of his new favorite show had ended? Whatever the case, he wound up biting off more than he could chew when he stumbled upon . . . fanfiction.
The adorable yet sad thing is that he didn’t even think anything of it at first. It wasn’t until he brought up a ship he’d invested his last few nights awake exploring on the computer: Nobody knew what the crap he was talking about, so of course he felt the need to explain it. But the more he talked, the more perplexed his friends looked. And the more he could feel his cheeks and ears burn.
Oh, he thought. Is this . . . embarrassment? Is that what this feels like? Oh, this is just foul.
Thankfully, nobody pressured him to keep talking about it, but the poor king sure as heck didn’t feel much of a desire to talk any further about it. But he needed to talk to somebody about his newly acquired “feels” as those online were calling them.
Joining fanfiction-oriented sites was the next obvious step, of course, but he’s experienced mixed feelings about it: On one hand, it’s nice to talk with people who share similar views and excitement about a fictional couple. But on the other, the digital wars that have broken out both disturb him and bring out the worst in him.
Like, of course there are bigger things to deal with than whether or not So-So is better off with Him-Ham, but if you truly think that Blah-Blah and Himhaw are a healthy relationship, then you can go do a service and bury yourself in the desert sands to provide substance to the hungry beetles with your flesh --
Suffice to say, a lot of the guilt in this pleasure seems to come from the fact that Ahk can get a little too emotionally invested if the work is really good. He tries to limit his interactions to commenting and praising certain works, and encouraging content creators. However, he’s also contemplated contributing his own pieces of fiction to the fandom . . .

don’t mind me just need somewhere to put my thoughts
So I’ve been waffling for a while about whether or not I might have some form of ADHD? Maybe mild, but like, whenever I see posts about ADHD and detailing the symptoms or effects I strongly relate to a lot of it. But it’s really hard to tell whether I actually have something or whether it’s just my tendency to try and “sympathize” by placing myself on the same ground (that probably doesn’t even make sense but idk how else to phrase it).
The problem is I had my therapist put me through an ADHD assessment a while ago and he said I probably don’t have it--largely because it doesn’t affect my work or my relationships in any obvious or negative way. But I’m not sure that’s entirely true? There’s definitely something happening up in my brain that affects ME in a pretty negative way, and I don’t think it’s just depression.
Here’s what I know:
-I am way more comfortable talking to pretty much anyone via text because it gives me more time to phrase things the way I want to (I have a REALLY hard time with verbal arguments especially)
-I often struggle with paying full attention to what someone is saying, especially if it doesn’t interest me or grasp me emotionally, but I can usually I guess bs my way through based on context clues and piecing things together, so it’s not super obvious
-I find myself very easily distracted at work and need to take frequent breaks when I’m working on something that takes a lot of concentration (this happens a lot more now that I’m working from home, yay authority complex)
-I procrastinate like hell on any project that doesn’t have an external (read: work-related) deadline--which is why it takes me so long to upload new videos to my YouTube channel
-I get easily overwhelmed if there’s too much simultaneous noise or stimuli around (I hate hate hate trying to have a conversation at a venue with really loud music)
-This extends to home life, where I don’t feel like I can concentrate on my own thing if my roommates are being particularly loud
-I think a lot of what might’ve appeared as ADHD when I was younger was thoroughly stamped out by living as a “gifted kid” and having to be so much more mature and low-maintenance and put my own feelings below everyone else’s, also the fact that I got bullied pretty heavily in elementary school
-I was absolutely the space cadet, gullible, “naive” one in my friend group--I feel like I can pick up on sarcasm better now but I think when I was younger it did tend to go over my head
-But, at the same time, I’ve always been very observant, I just don’t often share it or speak my mind (largely due to self-esteem issues and not feeling heard throughout a lot of my childhood)
idk this post isn’t really going anywhere I just...yeah it’s something I think about a lot whenever a post about ADHD crosses my dash. I don’t really want to go through the process of getting an official diagnosis, largely because I don’t think I could afford any meds they might recommend, but I guess if anyone’s read through to this point and could offer some validation or insight that might,,, be nice?
-shrugs loudly- anyway I’m gonna go play more Animal Crossing

Serendipity Masterlist
The day after the party, Sam and Colby left LA to go shoot a few videos for a week. The whole time they were away, I've been talking to Colby. Whenever one of us had free time we would text the other. Whoever ended the conversation the night before started the conversation the night after. My phone was going off more than ever. Normally I would only get youtube/ work related notifications and the occasional booty call from an annoying "big" youtuber on my Twitter DMs. Now, all my messages are texts from Colby.
I don't know what to label this feeling. I set a different ringtone for Colby so whenever I hear that tone my stomach somersaults. It can't be a crush, despite the fact that we've been talking nonstop I hardly know Colby. We planned on leaving the getting to know you questions for the date. That's not saying that I'm not into him. I definitely am. From the conversations I've had with him, I can tell he's more than just a pretty face. And for someone who's lived in L.A her whole life, I can attest that, that doesn't happen often.
But I still don't know how to label what I'm feeling? The nervousness that I'll somehow find a way to mess this up? Even if this doesn't work out as a romantic relationship with Colby, I hope that I can at least make a friend out of this whole situation. I don't have very many friends. If anything, I have one and everyone else I know is either an acquaintance, an old hookup, or someone that I collaborated with. Making friends in this industry is hard. You never know who's using you for views or to leech off subscribers.
One thing I know that I'm feeling for a fact is nervous for this date. Colby never told me where we were going. He insisted on keeping it a surprise. I did manage to get him to tell me what type of clothes I should wear. All he told me was "Olive Garden casual" but also being beach things just in case. I changed my clothes at least three times. I finally decided to stick with a white and floral romper with some sandals. I put my but length curly hair into a fishtail braid and called it a day. He also insisted on picking me up. So I spent all morning over cleaning my already clean apartment. I finally got myself to calm down enough to sit down and finish editing my video and thumbnail for Saturday.
****
I finish putting the final details on my video when I hear a knock on the front door. I jump so high that I nearly deleted the video upload. I put my laptop on my couch before going to answer the door. I open the door to reveal Colby wearing a white long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up and black jeans.
"Hi, come in. I'm just finishing uploading my video for this weekend. It'll only be a second more." I move so that Colby can walk in. I close the door and quickly grab my laptop and move it to the coffee table so Colby can sit
"Wow, nice apartment you got here. It's very homely." Colby says looking around. I finish the upload and close my laptop and see Colby wondering around.
"Thank you. The front area is just for show mostly, you know for the off chance I get guest. I can give you a small tour if you want."
"Sure. It's only fair, you saw basically the entirety of my house."
"Very true. So, over there is the kitchen. There are no guys there that show their id instead of carding you though. I hear that's one of a kind. We're standing in the living room slash tv room where I spend a lot of time when I'm not working or partying." I pick up my laptop and walk with Colby to the back of my apartment.
"I hear they fired the id guy. To be fair, he didn't know what he was doing but he was glad he did it." Colby mentions.
"To be fairer, I hear the girl who ratted herself out as underage felt the exact same." I turn to see Colby smirk. I turn back around and blush before opening the door on my right.
"This is my office and youtube room. I spend a lot of time working here." I place my laptop on my desk and plug it in before walking out with Colby.
"What do you keep in the closet?"
"Equipment for my hobbies that are not youtube related. In between both rooms is the guest bathroom. And the door right here leads to my bedroom. Complete with its own master bathroom and walk-in type of closet." I grab my bag from my bed and watch as Colby looks around.
Eventually, we leave and walk to his car. When we get in, Colby pulls out a blindfold.
"I know you don't know me that well but trust me when I say put this on." He holds the blindfold in front of me.
"Somehow, I knew this happen. Good thing I didn't put on makeup today." I take the blindfold and put it on.
"Wow, you're just going to do it. No questions or anything?"
"You haven't told me a single thing about this date all week. For all I know, you can be taking me somewhere to murder me for all I know."
"Very true. But that's not going to happen. I promise. Anyway, how long have you lived in that apartment?"
Even though I willingly put on the blindfold on, I'm still a little nervous. Colby senses this and slips his hand in mine.
"Uh, I moved in officially moved in on my birthday last year. I started moving my stuff in the month before."
"You're parents let you start moving out at 17?"
"That's a story for a later time. Um... why did you and Sam start in youtube?"
"Back then it was a way to reach out to our fans and get different content out their aside from our vines. Flash forward to now where we break into abandoned places or do overnights. I glad we started youtube though."
"Isn't that kind of dangerous or scary?"
"Yeah, but here's the thing..."
****
For the rest of the car ride, we kept talking about our channels and ourselves. There was a brief moment where we stopped somewhere and Colby left me in the car to grab something. When we finally reached where we are supposed to be, Colby placed my bag on my lap went to get the things out of the trunk before helping me out. We walk a few feet before Colby tells me I can take my blindfold off. It takes my eyes a few seconds to adjust to the light.
"Are we at the Santa Monica beach?" I ask after seeing the infamous ferries wheel on the pier.
"Yeah, I thought we could have a picnic on the beach and try to look at the stars?" I looked at Colby who was blushing a bit.
"Why did you phrase that as a question? Why do I feel like you aren't 100 percent sure about this date? I think it's a great date."
"I was just worried that you would think that it was too cheesy?"
"What part of me makes you think that I'd find this cheesy? Let's go, the sun is setting." I drag Colby closer to the water so we could set up the picnic.
****
Maybe it's because it's the beginning of February or maybe it's because it's Monday but there are hardly any people on the beach. It's vitally empty and it kind of feels like Colby and I are alone. Colby has actual picnic food, complete with chocolate covered strawberries. We spend the whole time talking and eating. Before the sun completely set we took pictures of each other. My favorites are the candids that I took of Colby when he wasn't paying attention. All the conversation and small talk that we avoided for the past week came out today. Colby had a speaker playing soft music in the background. It felt like every romance movie I've ever seen.
"Can I tell you a secret?" I asked while we looked at the sky. We had pretty much finished eating and the sun is completely set.
"Definitely."
"Well, it's not really a secret. I used to live near here before I moved out of my parents' house. Whenever I felt like life was getting to suffocating or the drama was too much I would sneak out here and just look out at the sky and listen to the ocean. I've actually forgotten how calming this was. I miss it." I adjust myself so my head is no longer supporting my head.
"I kind of know what you mean. Moments like this make me miss Kansas. I like nature and being submerged in it in a way." I turn my head and look at Colby who was already looking at me.
"What do you miss most about Kansas?" I adjust my body so I'm completely facing Colby.
"If I'm being honest? I just miss being around my family all the time. I can explore or find my own piece of nature anywhere in the world. I can't always be with them." Colby faces me completely too.
"Wow, you guys sound close."
"We are, in a weird way. What about you? Are you close with your family?"
"Um... to make an incredibly long and depressing story short, I am the black sheep of the family. Completely shunned and unwelcome. I could tell you the whole story but that probably wouldn't be first date appropriate."
"I get it. You can tell me anything though. When you're ready obviously. You probably can't tell but I can tell that we're going to be really important to each other."
"Really? You can tell that from one date and our super long talk at your party that I probably shouldn't have been at?"
"I know it sounds like I'm just trying to get into your pants or something, but I'm being 100 percent serious. There's something about us, we just click. Like we were made for each other."
I examine every part of Colby's face that I can. For once I feel like I actually met someone genuine. He doesn't sound like every guy that I've met who actually want to just hook up. He definitely doesn't sound like someone who would hurt someone or use them. I feel safe with Colby, something I don't think I've ever felt.
"Isabella?" Colby says breaking my concentration.
"Yes, Colby?"
"Do you mind if I kiss you for real this time?"
"Yes— I mean, I don't mind. You can kiss me for real."
We both sit up and I close my eyes and slowly lean in and only stop when my lips meet his. The kiss starts off soft but quickly gets more and more intense. We both pull away before things got too heated.
"Whoa..." we both said in unison. We were both quiet for a few seconds, trying to process what had just happened.
It was a perfect moment. At that moment I realized that I've never kissed anyone like that. Not sober, anyway. It sent a tingle down my spine and caused a wave of calm to wash over me. This kiss was real and I wanted more. Not just to kiss Colby more, but to feel more real things with him.
****
Colby takes me home about an hour after the kiss. We talked a bit more to get to know each other. The more we talked, the more I wanted to know Colby on a deeper level. I wanted Colby to know me more too, something I've never felt with anyone.
When Colby dropped me off I let him know that I would plan our next date, if he wanted there to be. He responded by kissing me again. When he left I lay on the couch and replayed the past few hours in my head. After that, I went into my bedroom and grab one of my empty notebooks. I choose the one with a tree carved into it and open to the second blank page. I write down everything from what happened and how I'm feeling. I even write about the events from the week before. As I write I set my photo printer to print out the photos from tonight. Even if things don't work out with Colby, I want to remember the first time I ever felt like this.
After I finish writing and taping the photos I take a shower and try to calm down. I place the notebook on my bedside table and go to take a shower. I climb into bed and try to decompress so I can sleep and wake up for my lectures tomorrow. I can't let my feelings for Colby make me late for classes. To help me calm down I go on my phone and scroll on my Instagram accounts. I have two, one for my fans and all business that is very public and a private one where I only let a few people follow. Right now, I'm only following Colby's private account. He has three: his public account, his fan appreciation account, and his private account. I check my public one and make a few comments and watch as people post about parties and birthdays. I get a few DMs from people asking where I wasn't at some party. I gave the same excuses of working on videos and switch over to my private account. On my feed a picture of me that I don't remember taking shows up. It's a candid of me from the beach. I'm laughing about something and the fading sun is hitting my face with my messy hair blowing in the wind. I see that Colby posted it and scroll to the caption. It reads: I can already tell my life is going to be better with you in it. Can't wait until next week.
I like the picture and quickly post my own picture of Colby with a cheesy caption. I switch back to my main account and see that I have a message from Brennen Taylor.
BT: Where were u tonite? Hooking up with some other insta-model?
Me: Actually, I was busy working tonight.
BT: Well, if you're not busy anymore do you want to hang out? The party was lame, I was hoping for sum fwb time.
Me: We're not friends and the benefits haven't been a thing for a while. Plus I'm seeing someone right now so the benefits are never going to happen again.
BT: We both know that that's not going to last long. Just come over right now and we can "talk" about it
Me: ...Night Brennen. Stop messaging me before I block you again.
BT: Goodnight sweet cheeks, I'll dream of the time we'll have a face to face convo again.
I close out of Instagram and plug my phone in. I make sure that my phone is charging before staring at the ceiling. At a party a few months ago, before I turned 18, I made the mistake of hooking up with Brennen. Ever since we've had an on again, off again hook up relationship. We were both in the same party scene. We would drunkenly hook up at parties, sometimes after I had just finished with someone else. After our first encounter, he found me on Instagram and would hit me up whenever he wanted to sleep with me, no strings attached. I would go only because he offered alcohol, sometimes weed. I would use him to get drunk or high and he would use me to get a quick lay. I didn't need him as much when I got my fake id but he did, even when he had a girlfriend. When I found out he was dating someone new I terminated our unspoken agreement. I wasn't going to be the reason his relationships failed. Still, he would hit me up every few days. If I'm being honest, he makes me feel uncomfortable and I try to avoid him at all cost. I never block him or expose him out of fear of being exposed myself. So I deal with it and I just tell him I'm busy or I was with someone else. It only works sometimes.
But now I met Colby and I really don't want to screw this up. I'm hoping Brennen won't screw it up for me. That sometimes happens at parties. I know that Colby and Brennen are friends. So I'm betting on the fact that Brennen wouldn't get in the way of his best friend's relationships, in every aspect of the word.
My phone lights up the room and I check to see a notification from Colby. He tells me that he got home safe and how much he enjoyed tonight. He also mentions that he's looking forward to next week. He ends with a good night. I type back a response with a huge grin on my face. I put away my phone and dream about the date over and over again.

Kaden Watches the 2014 Grand Final
First off, I AM SO STINKIN HAPPY THAT IT ISN’T REGION BLOCKED I legit cried when I saw they uploaded it to the official youtube. This was the first show that I was able to watch live and be on Tumblr during, and it was such a fun, amazing time. I’ve been wanting to watch it in full again but couldn’t find it anywhere, and the DVD is extremely rare.
All of my thoughts under the cut, enjoy as this American watches the grand final for the third time since it aired. Feel free to watch along!
Ukraine: I still have this song on my Spotify playlist tbh it’s such a bop. I still love the hamster wheel as a prop and the vocals are pretty on point after the first verse.
Belarus: Hilariously enough I literally JUST listened to this in the car on my way home XD Another iconic song, honestly this whole year was pretty great. The background dancers are a mood. The vocals are pretty great, and it’s just such a silly and fun song. Plus I remember all the memes from this performance XD
Azerbaijan: I don’t remember this song?? But she has such a gorgeous voice omg. not to mention the TRAPEZE. Golly this is such a great performance. Also that dress is absolutely stunning
Iceland: Another absolute bop and meme song that I listened to for years after this. This is just. Such a fun song and the LOVE pose at the end always gets me
Norway: Why does he look like Kobi Marimi. Okay but real talk it’s a pretty ballad, but that’s really it. Not something I should watch close to bed. But seriously he reminds me SO MUCH of Kobi and I have no clue why. Something in the eyes.
Side note, I forgot how great the postcards were for this year.
Romania: I prefer Playing With Fire, but this was still very fun. Always a sucker for the 360 piano.
Armenia: This song was so strange to me when I first heard it, and it still is now. There’s something charming about it though. A simple performance but still really captivating.
Montenegro: Another song I don’t remember? Love the ice skating and the graphics on the floor. His voice is very rich and I always love when an artist sings in their native tongue.
Poland: I had to skip this one =w=‘’ I could barely stomach it when I first watched it. Too much fanservice and the song is awful. I’ve heard other songs by them and they are so much better.
Greece: This plays on Spotify every so often. I really like it, it’s definitely a great party tune and songs like something you’d hear at an American dance club. It’s definitely a lot of fun. Not to mention I love the raps =w= Also the trampoline is great =w= singing while on a trampoline is super not easy
Austria: MY HEART Okay Conchita stole my heart from the first time watching and I have both albums(PLEASE listen to the newest one). Absolutely stunning as always and just. U g h so many feelings. I’m just a puddle of tears again.
Germany: Another one that I still play all the time, I just love the traditional instruments in this. The vocals live aren’t the best, but seriously heroutfit is a look. Oddly enough something in her face reminds me of a good friend of mine. Honestly this performance really feels.. forced =w=‘ Love the song, not too much of a fan of the live. Also the accordion player lowkey looks like Anna Kendrick mixed with Lena. The ad libbing at the end really didn’t sit well to me.
Sweden: While this song did nothing for me when I first heard it, I revisited this performance a year later when I lived with my parents and became absolutely OBSESSED with this song. I still absolutely love it. listen to that CROWD. Great vocals. All the Sanna wigs in the crowd tho
France: Another fun song,  the one guy reminded me of Weerd Al upon first watching it but now? He actually low key reminds me of Michal Szpak. And Weird Al. This is so fun and in-your-face after Sanna’s performance.
Russia: I’m still so mad that they were booed because they did so well during this. I really loved the performance. I love the balance beam/seesaw as a prop, and the entwined ponytails. Still one of my favourite songs of the year.
Italy: Ooh, this is a very fun performance? Not too much a fan of the vocals but the music is pretty great. Pretty great performance in terms of Energy.
Slovenia: yet ANOTHER one of my favourite songs that I still listen to. I love this performance, she does such a great job live. Simple staging, but the lighting effects are great. I’ve listened to it so many times that I’ve choreographed a contemporary routine to it in my head, and I still see it during this XD. Seriously this is such a great performance, I hope this made the top ten.
Finland: I feel like this is a song I should have paid more attention to. I really like it and want to look into more by Softengine. I love the high notes, he does them so wel live and the band has so much energy. This is just. So great. This is definitely a song younger me should have gotten into but I think I’ve only listened to it like, Four times? Legit.
Spain: I don’t remember this song at all =w=‘ I like the rain effect. It’s a pretty song and she has very pretty vibrato and her power notes are incredible, but the song itself isn’t doing anything for me.
Switzerland: Oh my lovely Sebalter. Guess what, yet another song I still love and listen to regularly. I remember all the memes that generated from his performance, too. Did we ever find out if the whistling was live? I still love this performance either way. It’s a lot of fun. Most iconic violin next to Alexander Rybak.
Hungary: I remember being so mad watching the Jury section live because I really did not like this song XD The shift from the verse to the chorus just didn’t work for me, felt very disconnected. Plus the song it just really darke? I’m seriously surprised this qualified. The dancing is really well done though.
Malta: I remember everyone calling them Malta and Sons. Not particularly my cup of tea, but still a good performance regardless. I really love their voices.
Denmark: The Bruno Mars comparisons were endless back in the day. This is still a super fun song and I still can’t BELIEVE the studio version was explicit. That one back up dancer is going so hard and I absolutely love it. The Love flag is so cheesy and perfect.
The Netherlands: so SLEEPY. Good performance sure but not when you’re watching right before bedtime. More good use of the floor screen. I’ve noticed there were a lot of instruments on stage this year? Something that didn’t click back in the day. Also is it bad that I lowkey find Waylon attractive
San Marino: Is it bad I forgot that Valentina did manage to qualify one year. All I can think with that prop is Peacock. Interesting song, I really like her vocals in this. She defo deserved to qualify this year.
United Kingdom: It’s funny that I remembered the name of the song and artist but couldn’t remember the song to save my life. Definitely one of the better UK acts of the decade.
~I went to bed bc it was obvious I was getting too tired =w= ~
Graham’s “That’s me!’ got me =w= And all the streamers and such
Watching the recap as soon as I wake up and golly is it a wakeup call =w= Seriously the 2014 Grand was one of my favourites minus Poland =w=;
Took the recap as time to see how many songs from this year I still actively listen to, and that would be 11/26.
Momoland Interval Act: Okay the staging of this is incredible? I know they had harnesses on just in case but when they stood on top of the ladder my heart started palpatating
12 Points Interval Act:  Okay this is fun =w= A lot of fun. I’m laughing so hard.
Museum of Eurovision History clip: I REMEMBERED THIS SEGMENT AND I AM CRYING Those poor kids. Also completely unrelated, I had to carpool to a meeting with a co-worker and found out she was actually born and raised in Sweden and moved to the states when she was 11. She remembers dancing around her room to Diggaloo Diggeley.
Green Room Interviews: Amazing that they brought all the foods from the contestants favourite places and the fakeout with France.
Emelie De Forest performance: I know people call this the second most overrated winner next to Euphoria but I really like the song still. A very nice performance and those branch wings are incredible. I also really like Rainmaker. I really like how they brought all the contestants on stage to sing and dance with her.
~I’m gonna miss Jon Ola Sand ; (
Jury Votes: I cut in and out bc I have to do laundry but I still remember how excited I was when Conchita won. I forgot that they said the 8 and 10 points as well as their 12 points. I am so MAD that Russia got booed whenever they got the 10 or 12 points.  I also didn’t realize there were only 37 countries this time.
My thoughts on the Top Ten:  Y’all know I’m ecstatic that Austria won, I’m actually kinda surprised by the top ten? But this is just based on the Jury votes right? Either way I’m bitter that Slovenia did so poorly and surprised that Hungary did so well. I would have been content with Sanna winning but I am surprised that The Common Linnets did so well. CONCHITA’S REACTION TO WINNING BREAKS ME EVERY TIME
All-in-all, this was a great year, and I am so veryvery happy that I was able to watch it again. Thanks for reading!

Region B Wishlist
Whenever I used to visit Amoeba Music on Sunset Blvd (which was at least once a month, 2016 through 2017), I’d make a beeline for the staircase, up up and away to the movie department. Directly to my right at the top of the staircase, in a display rack stretching the entire length of the floor, sat a single column of movies known to me as the “non-Region A” section. I could rely on the movies lurking in this small section to turn my eyes green with envy: a gorgeous Region B Blu-ray of Possession, the Vanessa Redgrave vehicle Isadora, and several other movies that seemed like the stuff my dreams were made of. Unfortunately, at the time, I had yet to invest in a region-free Blu-ray player, so that section of movies taunted me on my monthly visits to Amoeba, as I’m sure they do to many movie fans that lack the proper technology to play them.
For those uninitiated into the world of movie collecting, different regions of the world have differently coded discs that only play in that region’s disc players. Back in DVD’s heyday, that consisted of Region 1, 2, and 3. Now, in the age of Blu-ray, those regions are alphabetical rather than numerical: A, B, and C. Region A discs play in the Americas and some countries in Southeast Asia, including Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Region B discs play in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. Region C discs play in any Asian countries not covered by Region A. Film copyright holders like region coding because they want to control when movies are available in specific countries. (I assume because they can make more money if they sell the American, European, and Asian distribution rights separately.)
Movie collectors, however, hate region coding. Which is why I finally splurged on my region-free Blu-ray player. I bought my first Region B discs online at Foreign Exchange Blu-ray Imports, a neat store in Culver City, California with reasonable prices and an online catalog. (You can check them out on Facebook here.) I picked up Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger’s adaptation of the opera Tales of Hoffmann from StudioCanal and the Vincent Price camp horror classic The Abominable Dr. Phibes from Arrow Video.
While I’m thrilled that I can now watch movies unavailable to the majority of casual viewers in the United States, I still hope and pray for Region A releases of the following five gems, both for simplicity’s sake and to better keep these films accessible to future appreciative audiences.
Martin, 1978, directed by George A. Romero
Martin is a disturbing little film shot in the Pittsburgh suburbs about a maybe-vampire teenage boy, who looks an awful lot like a Sprouse twin. (So maybe Cole and Dylan are the real vampires?) With black and white fantasy sequences, the gruesome reality of Martin’s vampiric conquests contrasts with his internal, romanticized version of events.
Arrow Video released a Region B DVD a few years ago, though it’s now out of print. Diabolik DVD had a Japanese Region A disc available for a time, though it sold out quickly. I hope that Martin’s copyright hell freezes over, because I would freak out for a Region A Blu-ray that I don’t have to scramble to pre-order online before it sells out. In the meantime, you can watch the movie on YouTube until legal means become available:

Napoleon, 1927, directed by Abel Gance
I probably could write several articles about the various silent films no longer available on disc in North America. (I’m still waiting for the latest restoration of Mauritz Stiller’s Saga of Gosta Berling to make its physical media debut, now that the Kino Lorber DVD is out of print.) I am planning to invest in the BFI’s Region B Blu-ray of Abel Gance’s Napoleon sooner rather than later, both because of its historical significance and the care that went into restoring it. Kevin Brownlow, film historian and author of such tomes as The Parade’s Gone By…, spent 20 years painstakingly piecing Napoleon back together and continues to discover and restore missing scenes to this day. Gance shot the final reels of Napoleon using innovative Polyvision technology, which means that the film requires three projectors to play three separate reels side-by-side for the ultimate in widescreen presentation.

Isadora, 1968, directed by Karel Reisz
I only watched the biopic Isadora thanks to a Korean copy available at my once-upon-a-time local video store in South Pasadena, Videotheque. (Visit them online here.) The sound was a bit shrill, but the image looked decent and I still enjoyed the stunning performance from a young Vanessa Redgrave as the groundbreaking dancer Isadora Duncan. The movie also features a cameo from early Hollywood star Bessie Love as Isadora’s mother.

youtube
Isadora would make a great double feature with the more recent film, The Dancer, giving a contrasting depiction of what it personally means to be an artist and a dancer: for Isadora, it’s a fancy-free attitude and imagination, for Loie Fuller, it was back-breaking work and determination. (Though Lily Rose Depp as Isadora is a disgrace, Soko slays as Loie Fuller.) I’m unaware of any plans to make Isadora widely available in North America, but you can find clips on YouTube to get a taste of what we’re missing out on.

The Devils, 1971, Ken Russell
I won’t go into much detail on this movie, because you can already read about my previous experience with The Devils here. The BFI sells a special edition DVD on their website and several streaming platforms offer it to stream intermittently, like the Criterion Channel and Shudder, but America has yet to see an official DVD or Blu-ray release of Ken Russell’s controversial tale of religious hysteria and hypocrisy.
Leather Boys, 1964, Sidney J. Furie
I saw Leather Boys at Cinefamily (before I found out it was a haven for abusers), followed by a Q&A with the director, who blessed our ears with wisdom like, “The sun is the enemy of art,” when encouraging aspiring filmmakers to shoot in cloudy locations. Leather Boys grapples with marriage and sexual identity issues in a gentle way while also making room for the audience to laugh at the naivety and passion of adolescence. I returned home that night eager to share the film with others. Unfortunately, I was not able to find it available anywhere on physical media. I’m not above watching a movie free online when I have no other options, but I’m both a movie lover and collector and can’t stand that I can’t add Leather Boys to my collection, to rewatch at my leisure and share with my friends and family. Luckily, someone uploaded it to YouTube and you can watch the whole film here:

Project Spotlight: Project Genesis World Overhaul
Today we are talking to Atlasroar, Swishos, and GregAmazingNinja from the Project Genesis World Overhaul - a massive, all-encompassing overhaul mod for Kenshi - a squad-based RPG based in a desolate, post-apocalyptic world that infamously does not care about you. BigBizkit: Could you guys give us a little bit of an introduction as to what your roles are on the project? Atlasroar: Of course! Hey all, I'm Atlas! I'm the community/server manager for the Genesis Modding Guild. I provide backend support for the server and finalize all posts made to ensure they are fun and easy to read :). I started off this journey just trying to make load orders work better for everyone. After doing a lot of research and realizing no one had any idea of what they were talking about when it comes to load orders, I decided it was time to sit down and finally try something I had 0 idea of what to do. After making a post that I was using LOOT as the basis for the idea, Greg found me on Reddit and invited me. After a month or so of pretty fast growth in Swishos' super-secret Discord, we decided to "move out". I made some recommendations on how to set things up, improve security and posts and Greg said: "You're hired". Swishos: Hey guys I'm Sam! Or as I'm better known, Swishos. After playing Kenshi for some time I quickly began looking for mods that added to the current world. Something I always noticed was how empty a lot of the areas are, some areas of the map clearly got more love than others. Oddly enough it was Ninja Greg's Avalon Isles mod that inspired me to start modding myself. It was one of the few mods I had found that added new factions to the map but also utilized a previously empty part of the map. I had previous experience with JavaScript and HTML5 but knew nothing about Kenshi modding going in. But with how the “Forgotten Construction Set” is set up I was able to self teach myself in a week or so through trial and error ^^.  GregAmazingNinja: Hi I'm Greg, I'm one of the leads for the Genesis team and I do most of the level data edits. I also have one of the most essential jobs which is maintaining the server that allows everyone to access the overhaul files so our team can all work on it simultaneously all across the globe. I also do the tedious job of merging all the mod files into the overhaul.   What would you say are the main features of Project Genesis World Overhaul and what was your inspiration? GregAmazingNinja: The overhaul's main features include the complete restructure of every location with an improved version of it (larger, more decorated towns), the addition of hundreds of new locations, factions, quests, and the ability to lay siege to cities. As for what inspired me personally, it's all my past gaming experiences that influenced our vision for the overhaul. I poured over 2000 plus hours into Skyrim during junior high school and I loved being able to go anywhere I wanted and finding something unique and receiving a quest to adventure further. I also poured countless hours into Mount and Blade Warband which had a lot of army management, politics, and fielding armies or sieging cities. With the implementation of the siege mechanics to Kenshi, I feel like we're just now scratching the surface as to what's possible with regards to how intricate and complex this game can become. To those who are only now hearing about Project Genesis for the first time, how would you describe what it is? Swishos: The first thing I would say is that the “Project Genesis World Overhaul” and the “Project Genesis Modding Guild” are two very different things. The overhaul itself as you can imagine from the name is our planned project to fill out and expand upon the entire world of Kenshi, while keeping true to the game's lore. This includes new factions, cities, quests, dialogue and a lot more. All the new content we always try to link back to some of the vanilla lore so it feels like it was always meant to be part of the Kenshi world. Now for the Modding Guild itself, we wanted it to be a place where any and every modder could come to share their work, help others complete their work or get the help they require. One location where we could focus all of the modding talent Kenshi has to offer in one place. Since initial conception though we have already incorporated a Mount & Blade modding community and are looking at expanding to other games in the future. Another feature of our guild is that we are happy to support any of our members whenever possible, this can come in the form of promoting their mods on release or even supporting their Youtube/Twitch accounts through our Discord server ^^  In the future, we are also going to be looking at a shared community account for Nexus Mods, as we have noticed a serious lack of mods being released to the Nexus which means for members/players who don't play through Steam they miss out on a lot of mods. So looking forward we plan on using this community account to upload members mods to the Nexus (with permission of course) this way it's no extra work for them but everyone gains access to all the mods coming out of our guild. Project Genesis will be touching on many aspects of the base game. One addition that stands out is city sieges - massive battles between rival factions. Could you explain how exactly sieges will work in your overhaul? GregAmazingNinja: Before we delve into sieges we need to understand how the base game handles town overrides. So when a player kills/captures a leader of a faction, the player leaves the area and when they next return the city is taken over by a rival faction. We’ve completely done away with that and replaced it with a linear progression of these massive city battles that the player needs to take part in in order for the rival faction to take over. To get technical, it is an intricate tree of yes and no statements that determine how and when sieges occur. As we continue to add more sieges it will only get more complex in structuring the world states and dialogue for it. We actually have a developer diary going into great detail as to how they work.  Is there a particular new feature or mechanic that you are most proud of? GregAmazingNinja: Well we're still technically in the alpha phase. But as of now, It’s the city sieges. That’s literally the crowning achievement of our overhaul, as no one’s done it before. When it comes to other games it might be a small achievement but in the Kenshi base game you take out a leader, leave the area and another faction "takes over". And we thought "Huh… that's it?". We took that idea and ran with it. If you want to take out any leader in a movie or video game you always gotta go through some enemies right? So that's what we did. We plan to expand this system to almost every town and faction. So just that alone is a huge achievement to the overhaul itself. How did you form as a team and decide to put a massive project like this into action?  Swishos: When I released my first popular mod The Hook Expansion back in April and it caught the eye of Greg. Soon after, I got a message from him asking about concerns of compatibility of our mods. We eventually came to the conclusion that by combining our mods together it would allow us to focus all our time on a single project and not have the issue of updating/patching multiple smaller mods. As this idea expanded we began to think why not look at other modders with similar mindsets to us? Originally using the Steam community we quickly found a lot of interest in the project which led us to creating the Project Genesis Steam group so we had somewhere to organise everything, plus a Google Drive for the team. It was at this stage Greg and I decided it would be possible for us to do a complete game overhaul with the support we were already getting. Not even a month after this and our project had grown beyond what we had ever imagined, the demands for a Discord could no longer be ignored. However, we wanted more than just a place to talk about our mod, with so many people interested not just in the project but modding, in general, it was decided to create a modding guild. A place where anyone could come to learn how to mod, help others where needed or receive the help you need to finish your own mod. Within two months of having the Discord server we were partnered with the Official Kenshi Discord and now have 700+ members and are still growing. ^^ Your overhaul is a combination of many impressive Kenshi mods, but it is also far more than just the sum of its parts. What was the process of putting all the pieces together like? GregAmazingNinja: The addition of other mods was an afterthought at first. We began this project with the intent of creating an overhaul that adds hundreds of new locations and quests. What posed as an obstacle was the Functioning market stalls mod. It would have taken a tremendous amount of time to create a patch for a mod like that, so I just reached out to the author of that mod and asked if he wanted his mod to be in our base overhaul. He said yes, and so did every other mod author we asked. We’ve merged a large amount of mods that we deemed “lore friendly” only in the sense that it didn’t break existing lore. Because of the massive list of merged mods, our overhaul now served a second purpose, and that was to shrink load orders. As for the process of merging mods, it’s incredibly tedious and can only be done by someone who has direct access to the main overhaul file. If the mod that I’m merging has assets like textures and meshes and tons of weapons and armor, it will take me hours to sort through everything and rewrite all the file directories. (Image by 5518 Studios) To those who have yet to play it: can you explain what makes Kenshi as a game unique and especially appealing to modders? Atlasroar: Yes, yes I can. Chris (the creator of the game) did a wonderful job of creating this world that just doesn't care about you. As a squad-based open-world game this game just really doesn't care about you. Your starting faction name is "nameless". Yeah, you're not the hero, or the chosen one. You are literally no one. With that said, you can write any story you put into your head. You can be anyone. A mercenary, a slaver, an anti-slaver, a farmer, a miner, an explorer, you can build your own city and grow your faction. Even at "end game" the game still just doesn't care about you. You'll get sold into slavery and beaten, you'll have the wrong guy (or girl) talk to the wrong person and just like that. You're a filthy heathen and now you're a slave, or maybe you're starving and poor, get sent to jail, or maybe you're starving and poor and dying, someone might help you and give you food. Until you learn how the world works, the world will try to relentlessly kill you. When you finally do know how the world works, well that's when it really tries to kill you. When it comes to modding. The system is a mess and can be hard to work with until you really get into it and bare your knuckles. But, the people of the Kenshi community are what make this game thrive. If you play Kenshi you earn your support and your place. That's our gatekeeper. Is this game “Dark Souls” hard? No, but this game is so stupidly unforgiving, funny, and frustrating at times that it pretty much builds your character as a person. Yet, that is what makes modding here so rewarding. You'll have random people drop by and say "hey you forgot to set up this or this",  you'll see modders sit down in one of the Discords and blow up chat for 10 hours straight as they work out how to make a custom building. It's the community as a whole that makes modding worth it for this game. What tools did you guys use to create your mods? GregAmazingNinja: The greatest tool we have is the Forgotten Construction Set, it’s a program that comes with every copy of Kenshi and we have the developers of Kenshi to thank for that. The second most important tool we use is an SVN server. I understand that the technology for SVN servers is a bit antiquated and that everyone uses Github now, but for the purposes of our overhaul, it’s been pretty straightforward. I run a server with the main overhaul folder and everyone on the team is able to access it directly. From there, our team members create sub mods with the overhaul enabled, which in turn get sent to me so I can manually merge it into the overhaul. How did you learn how to mod the game (or other games)? Do you have any tips for budding mod authors? GregAmazingNinja: For the longest time I’ve been obsessed with the idea of taking some of the ancient ruins you clear out as the player and turning it into a player home. Unfortunately, that wasn’t included in the base game; when I walked into a city with all these ruined buildings, I was a bit baffled as to why I couldn’t buy and repair some of them. From there I decided to try my hand at learning how to use the construction set included with the game. If there are any tips I could give new modders is to simply take what’s written in the base game already and rip it apart to understand how everything works. Dissecting and trial and error was the only way I learned. Anytime I got stuck, I’d look it up online, but for the most part, it’s experience and curiosity that’ll drive you to learn more about modding this game. Atlasroar: My modding experience started right here on the Nexus. I haven't published anything on any account but some pictures but man have I sunk some hours into the mods I've made. When it comes to Kenshi or any game really - realistically start small. Add a unique character or learn how to create a unique asset. Once you have stuff like that down you can very easily get help expanding into different categories. Just like with any community that has mods, you'll find many people out there who really want to pass on their own knowledge.  It might be competitive out here in the modding world but at the end of the day no one wants to see anyone fail. Even if you're just making "stuff" bounce (LOOKING AT YOU BETHESDA COMMUNITY). As for tips, the biggest tip I can give to new modders for any community is this: www.nexusmods.com. You're welcome. To the user who is reading this, you already have 100% free access to the greatest modding community of all time. With guides upon guides upon guides of how to use almost any tool under the sun here for your specific game.  But on a more serious note. Mod because you love the game you play. Mod because you want to change something. Mod because it's fun. You think Guardly, the author of Really useful dragons mod was trying to become popular? No of course not.  It was fun! Modding doesn't have to be about views. It has to be about passion and fun. If it isn't fun and you are struggling to keep going then it's time to take a break. The whole point of mods is to add what you find fun and then they add it to the game for others. How can people help you guys out or even join the project? Atlasroar: While realistically we aren't actively looking for anyone, this doesn't mean we can't use more people. If anyone wants to stop by and help us out, feel free to do so by using our Discord link.   While we do require you to have some knowledge of what you want to add to the game, it's pretty open-ended when it comes to joining the team. But even there at that point, what it really comes down to is we want to see that you have a passion to contribute to the team and the mod itself.  We just recently took on someone who wanted to provide funnier dialogue and stories. They just want to provide the dialogue. They don't even want to actually put it into the game. This is a passion project, and with that said we just want to do this right. We want to really put time and effort into this to create something mindblowing for the Kenshi community to play with and hopefully set a precedent on how to mod Kenshi from here on out. We have many in our group who are constantly checking back in on older files just to make sure they are up to there own standards. As people learn and grow more in the team we have people who will resubmit mods and just say "this is a better version use this". It's stuff like that that makes the Genesis team really grow as a whole. Everyone here wants to help each other and support each other. That's what we're looking for when it comes to team members. [line] A big thank you to the team from Project Genesis World Overhaul for taking the time to respond to our questions. As always, if there are any mod authors or mod projects you'd like to hear about, don't hesitate to send a message to Pickysaurus and BigBizkit.   CyberGhost VPN Highlights
ExpressVPN, NordVPN, IPVANISH, PrivateVPN, PureVPN & HIDE MY ASS are some of the major VPN service providers in the market right now offering support on up to 3 devices simultaneously for a single subscription cost. Among these (listed above) VPN service providers, CyberGhost VPN holds the third-position after ExpressVPN and NordVPN and is the only VPN service provider that offers support on up to 7 devices simultaneously with just one subscription.
When it comes to online privacy protection, VPN is no doubt the most powerful tool for protecting your online privacy. VPN is used to encrypt & hide user’s internet activities to keep them secure from online hackers or government bodies. With more than 3,500 servers in 60+ countries, CyberGhost VPN service is compatible with most of the devices, including:
Windows

CyberGhost VPN also allows users to set up a custom connection using the Linux devices or routers by connecting them to your router. Also, support for all major protocols such as OpenVPN, IPSec, L2TP, and AES256 bit encryption support is one among many other reasons for choosing CyberGhost VPN service.
Reasons for choosing CyberGhost VPN service

  User-Interface
When it comes to the overall experience from the user’s perspective, CyberGhost VPN software is easy to install, and for the non-technical users, an installation guide can be easily obtained from the CyberGhost official website. And just like major VPN service providers including ExpressVPN and NordVPN, the user interface of CyberGhost VPN software is very clean, simple and easy to use. You can run up to 7-devices simultaneously from a single subscription while keeping your home computer and mobile safe from online privacy hacks.
  Online Media Streaming & Torrenting
Trying to access geo-restricted media contents while traveling abroad? Well, CyberGhost VPN has everything that you will ever need to access media streaming services from anywhere in the world. The servers optimized for streaming give you a great experience with services like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube Premium & many more.
Downloading media files or software via torrent sites is illegal and downloading the files via torrent sites is also very risky. To help protect your privacy while downloading files from any torrent sites, CyberGhost hides your sensitive data and online identity from hackers and respective government agencies with 256-AES encryption technology. CyberGhost VPN has made it a lot more simple and easier for you to help you connect with servers especially optimized for torrenting.
  CyberGhost additional features
Ad-blocker:  CyberGhost supports ad-blocking feature to stop annoying and intrusive ads, banners and videos to save your data and protect your children from pornography.
Blocks Malicious sites: It auto-blocks malicious and harmful contents from the websites or filters the websites containing malicious and detrimental contents.
Automated HTTPS Redirects: Force your connection from non-https to HTTPS to ensure you browse the most secure version of any website.
Data Compression: CyberGhost VPN compresses images and other digital contents to keep your data cost under control by reducing your overall internet usage.
Auto-connect on Startup: This feature allows the program to initialize a new connection to the selected VPN server whenever CyberGhost app starts.
Auto-connection to a new encrypted Wi-Fi: Users can now set the rules for the new Wi-Fi network and CyberGhost app will auto-connects the users to their selected VPN server whenever the user connects to the selected Wi-Fi network. You can also customize your protection in the way you want by setting your CyberGhost to the known networks.
Automatic Kill-Switch: CyberGhost VPN supports automatic kill-switch feature and in case, if your VPN connection does happen to drop out, the automatic Kill-Switch feature in CyberGhost VPN automatically shutdowns any site or software that is being utilized to hack into your system. The best advantage of using CyberGhost VPN service comes out to offer a more streamlined and quicker way in the way you want for launching your web-browser at the same time as the VPN server.
VPN Protocols
CyberGhost supports OpenVPN which is well known for its speed and reliability. It’s open-source software, the company does also support IKEv2 on iOS, Windows & Linux as well as the older L2TP on Windows and Linux.
Speed and performance
Increase in latency and decrease in download and upload speed is the major concern while using any VPN service because a VPN doesn’t route your internet traffic most efficiently instead of having it jump through hopes for security’s sake. I run some tests using Ookla’s internet speed test tool which tests the download, upload speed and latency of the internet.
The first test was conducted by connecting to the server recommended by the app (Mumbai). The original download, upload speed and latency of my network are 14.10Mbps, 3.03Mbps and 99ms. However, the resulting speed after connecting to the recommended server (Mumbai) was 7.5Mbps, 2.5Mbps, and 91ms. The resulting speed, when connected with the USA server, was 8.5Mbps, 1.65Mbps, and 359ms and the resulting speed when connected to the UK were 3.79Mbps, 2.31Mbps, and 205ms. Connecting to the VPN server outside India gives a lot more increased latency rate while the USA server has outperformed the download speed and latency as compared to the recommended server speed results.
Pricing and availability
For most the VPN companies, these services are chargeable on Monthly or annual basis. These services are used to hide online identity and unlock geo-restricted contents including the media streaming services. Among all major VPN service providers, CyberGhost has excellent pricing options. A one-month plan with CyberGhost costs $12.99, and a Six-months plan costs $47.94, 12-months and 18-months plan will cost for $63  & $49.95 only.
Monthly subscription cost of CyberGhost ($12) is quite a bit higher than the current industry average of $10.38 per month. However, the 18-months subscription plan cost of $63 ($3.5 per month) is the lowest when compared with any major VPN service providers. CyberGhost also offers a 45-day money-back guarantee for 6-months and 12-months plans.
FLASH SALE: 2.75/Month at $49.5 for first 18 Months
Cons:
Personal information can be disclosed to third-parties
Using any security software for hiding privacy requires trust of the customers towards the company offering such services that the services which are being used will not expose you to the other dangers, particularly in the case of VPN. CyberGhost does collect some information for billing and network maintenance purpose. In some cases, when the policy outlines some situations, the required details are transferred to the third-parties while keeping your personal information safe which is associated with your online activities.
However, personal information can be disclosed as a part of an investigation in case of any crime or breach of the company’s terms of service. The company has also disclosed this information in their terms of service by stating “when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our [website].”

Final Verdict
CyberGhost does everything a user can ever expect from the best VPN service providers. With an easy-to-use interface and a strict No logs policy, CyberGhost is a great VPN. Its plans are affordable, and the servers speeds are better than what the competition offers.
The built-in ad-blocker could be more aggressive, and the Windows apps sometimes freeze for 20-30 seconds when trying to connect to a server for the first time. CyberGhost is continuously adding more servers and locations around the world while making the application UI more attractive and easier to use, and I am sure that it will be going to be the best VPN service provider sometime in the future as well.

15 Free Google Tools That Will Enhance Your Marketing Strategy
When it comes to anything done on the Internet, Google is king.
It’s the most popular search engine in the world, with a global market share of 89%.
Each day, 3.5 billion searches are performed on Google. That’s more than 1.2 trillion searches annually.
With so many people using Google to search for information online, it’s more important than ever for businesses to understand the Google algorithm. That knowledge will help them use SEO tactics to drive ecommerce sales.
But Google is much more than just a search engine. The Google Play Store is the official app store for all Android devices. It’s developed, owned, and operated by Google.
Understanding the app store and how it works will help you improve the ranking of your business mobile app.
While you may know how important Google is for searches, you might not be aware of everything else it has to offer.
Google has tons of free tools available for people to take advantage of. As a business owner, you can use these resources to improve your marketing efforts.
I’ve narrowed down the top 15 free Google tools your business can use for marketing. Here they are.
1. Google Drive
Some of you might already be familiar with Google Drive. Maybe you’re using it in your personal life.
But you can use Google Drive to help you with your business as well.
It’s a great way to safely store all your marketing content in the cloud.
You can stay organized and know you can access all your documents and pictures from anywhere. This is much more effective than storing important files directly on your device or an external hard drive.
Unlike hardware that can be lost or destroyed, Google Drive is immune to accidental damages, fires, floods, and theft.
One of my favorite parts about Google Drive is the ability to access my content from anywhere, as long as there is Internet.
You can download the mobile app to manage your files on the go as well.
In addition to using Google Drive for storage, I use Google Docs and Google Sheets to work on content directly.
In fact, I’m writing this blog post in Google Docs. That way, my progress gets saved and stored automatically.
I’m sure at one point or another, you’ve lost work you were doing in Microsoft Word or Excel. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not knocking that software. I’m just saying I’ve never had an issue when working or saving content in Google Drive.
I use it to store photos as well.
If I come across an interesting or informative photo I plan to use on one of my websites, YouTube channel, or blog posts, I save it to the respective file in my drive.
If you are sharing content and collaborating with your team, you can share files with specific users. Set parameters giving them the ability to view, share, or edit the content.
The first 15GB of Google Drive storage are free.
You can upgrade to 100GB for just $1.99 per month. I can’t imagine you’ll need much more than that.
2. Google Alerts
Just as the name implies, Google Alerts will notify you about anything you create an alert for.
For example, let’s say you want to know anytime someone mentions your business online. Set up an alert, and you’ll be emailed as soon as something gets published.
Then, you can act if you see negative information posted about your brand on the web.
This is a great way for you to monitor and improve your online reputation.
But you can set up alerts for anything you want. It could be your name or the names of your top competitors.
Without these alerts, you’d have to manually search for this type of content on a daily basis, which is unreasonable and an inefficient use of your valuable time.
Google alerts even offers suggestions based on what’s trending, covering a variety of topics such as:
technology
health
business
entertainment
finance
You can monitor certain categories based on your industry.
3. YouTube
Back in 2006, Google bought YouTube for $1.65 billion.
There are more than 1.5 billion YouTube users across the world. It’s the most popular social media site in the world for teenagers.
In fact, 96% of teens in the US are active on YouTube, which is important if your business is targeting Generation Z.
But no matter what type of business you have, what industry you’re in, or whom you’re targeting, you need to be active on YouTube. Here’s a look at my YouTube channel:
There are seemingly endless opportunities for your video content on YouTube.
For starters, your content can be found organically by users searching directly from this platform.
But once you upload a video to YouTube, you can repurpose it across the rest of your distribution channels.
Embed videos on your website. Share them in your blog content. Email them to your subscriber lists.
You can even post these videos on your social media profiles. YouTube makes it easy for you to do this directly from the platform.
For those of you who don’t have a YouTube profile, I highly suggest making this a priority for your business and video content strategy.
4. Google Analytics
Google Analytics is the ultimate tool for understanding your website traffic.
You can learn more about your website visitors. Google Analytics will show you the demographics of anyone who navigates to your site.
This will give you a much better understanding of your target audience and whether your marketing efforts are appealing to the right group of people.
Find out the locations of these users and what language they speak.
Discover what technology they’re using. Google Analytics will show you the operating systems and web browsers they use. This tool will even tell you what percentage of your traffic is coming from mobile devices.
You’ll also learn the source of your traffic.
You’ll be able to see whether people came from a website, social media network, or search engine. You’ll also see the keywords they searched for.
Google Analytics will give you a clear understanding of your top content and help you determine whether your traffic is converting.
If you’re not taking advantage of Google Analytics, your marketing efforts aren’t being fully optimized.
5. Google Webmaster Tools
Google Webmaster Tools will help you figure out how healthy your website is for search engine discovery.
By now, I’m assuming you know the importance of SEO and that optimizing your site accordingly will have a major impact on how you get ranked in search results.
There is always some sort of mystery behind the way Google ranks certain factors and rewards sites based on its algorithm.
But there’s no need to be left in the dark anymore. What’s a better way to find out whether your site is optimized for Google searches than with a Google tool?
With Google Webmaster Tools, you can set alerts for anything that prevents your website from being discovered in searches.
Analyze your search traffic to discover how people are finding you right now. This tool will help you fix what’s wrong with your site if you access the top issues list.
You’ll have access to testing tools and support documentation.
Google Webmaster Tools has guides and online courses that show you exactly what needs to be done to make an SEO-friendly website.
6. Google Translate
Have you ever received an email from a customer in a foreign language? You don’t need to hire a language expert or pay for expensive software to decipher what it says.
Google Translate makes it easy for you to understand them.
This works well for any blog comments, social media messages, or even customer reviews you see in another language.
Simply copy and paste the text into this tool to get it translated to English.
You don’t even have to know what language they’re speaking to get an accurate translation. Google will automatically detect the language and take care of that for you.
This tool makes it easy for you to reply to your customers as well.
Just type what you want to say in English, and copy the translation for your reply.
Google Translate isn’t just limited to short blocks of text. It can translate long documents or a website address.
Depending on your business and target market, you may not encounter foreign messages very often. But it’s nice to have this available whenever the situation arises.
7. Google Keyword Planner
Google Keyword Planner is part of Google Ads, but it’s worth mentioning on its own.
This tool will help you find keywords and phrases related to your business.
Discover relevant keywords and get suggestions for bid estimates based on how competitive certain keywords are.
Figure out how often specific keywords get searched for, and set a budget based on any keywords you’re bidding on.
Google Keyword Planner will help you with long-tail keywords as well.
These types of keywords won’t have as high of a search volume, but they’re much less competitive. Plus, these leads will be more qualified and therefore more likely to convert.
8. Google My Business
You can set up a free Google listing through Google My Business.
When a customer searches for businesses on Google or Google Maps, your free listing will show up as a result.
When they click on your business, you want all the information to be as accurate as possible. All of this can be controlled with this tool.
The listing will have your phone number, website, address, and store hours.
Failure to claim your listing might result in having inaccurate information displayed about your business online. You obviously want to avoid this.
You can even promote your latest offers through this business listing as well.
Customers will be able to review your business on your Google listing. You can engage with those reviews by responding to the comments.
Thank each customer for leaving a review, and appropriately respond to anyone who may have had a negative experience.
You’ll also have access to information about how people found your business listing online: from a direct search or organic searches.
9. Google Calendar
Google Calendar is another great tool to keep you organized.
Times have changed. The days of relying on a giant calendar on your desk are over.
As business owners and marketers, we’re constantly on the go. With so many things to keep track of, it’s easy to overlook something important.
Google Calendar makes it easy for you to add events and manage your daily schedule.
Share your calendar with other Google accounts to make sure your team is on the same page with important marketing deadlines.
Set reminders and alerts to ensure you don’t forget about anything on your schedule.
10. Google Insights
For your marketing efforts to be successful, your website needs to operate and perform at a high level.
Google Insights will help you make sure that’s happening properly.
This tool analyzes the content of your web pages. You’ll get information about the page loading speed.
Other tools can also help you determine your page loading speed and whether it’s optimal or needs work.
But what separates Google Insights from the other tools is the report it generates.
Google will suggest how you can make your web pages load faster.
This is crucial from a marketing perspective. You just got someone to click on a link or navigate to your site as a result of one of your campaigns. Don’t lose them because your page loads too slowly.
11. Google Content Experiments
Google Content Experiments is part of Google Analytics.
As the name implies, it allows you to run experiments on different types of content.
This is a great tool for your marketing campaigns. You can run different variations of the same ad or promotion and get a report to see which one has the highest performance.
Then you can use the top ad for future campaigns and make adjustments to the ones that didn’t perform as well.
You start each experiment by selecting a goal. This helps the tool adjust the metrics accordingly based on what you want to accomplish.
The tool gives you the option to test up to ten variations of a specific landing page, so you’ll be certain that your final experiment results are as accurate as possible.
12. Google Trends
As a marketer, you need to keep your finger on the pulse. You’ve got to stay informed about what’s happening in the world around you.
Watch local and global news. Stay up to date on pop culture.
If you know what’s happening, you can come up with appropriate marketing strategies based on these trends.
But it can be difficult to do this when you’re busy at work every day. Google Trends will make this process much easier for you.
See the hottest searched topics locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.
Search for a specific topic, such as your industry, to see how popular it is over a certain time period.
If you know what people are searching for, it will be easier for your brand to stay relevant. You can use pop culture trends or global news to create a targeted ad or promotion on social media that will gain lots of attention.
13. Google AdSense
Google AdSense is free to use. In fact, you’ll get paid to participate.
Unlike the other advertising tools on this list, Google AdSense lets you run ads from other businesses on your own website.
Google makes sure that the ads meet a certain quality standard and that they’re relevant to your audience.
If you don’t like an ad displayed on your site, it’s no problem. Simply block any ads you don’t want to appear, and customize the type and location on your site that works best for your needs.
To get the most money for your ad space, Google AdSense will ensure that only the highest bids go live on your site so you can make as much money as possible.
It’s a nice way to make some extra cash while you focus on your other marketing strategies.
14. Google Blogger
You can use Google Blogger to build your personal or business blog.
If you’ve been reading my content for a while now, you know how much emphasis I put on the benefits of blogging.
Those of you who are not taking advantage of this effective marketing tactic need to start right away.
Google Blogger gives you a free domain to host your blog. While the majority of you will want your blog to be directly on your website, this is an option for newer businesses or for those trying to establish a personal brand that’s separate from your existing company.
You can use this new domain to promote your company website.
It’s easy to integrate your new blog with Google AdSense, which I just talked about.
Like I said, for the most part, you’ll want to have a blog on your company website. But Google Blogger shouldn’t be dismissed. It’s worth a spot on this list.
15. Google Voice
Google Voice gives you the option to stay in touch with your customers from any screen.
You can send and receive calls or texts from your phone, desktop, or tablet.
Unlike a cell phone number or landline for your business, Google Voice is free.
Google Voice also allows you to select a virtual number from nearly any area code, which is great if you’re targeting clients from a specific location.
Your leads will be more likely to trust a local number than just some random out of area caller.
The virtual number can be connected to any mobile device or landline. It’s easy to handle incoming calls from different locations. Anyone with access can answer the phone.
If you have team members in different areas, they all have the option to respond to an incoming call.
Ultimately, Google Voice is great for enhancing your customer service and communication. If you’re not satisfied with your current phone situation, it’s worth looking into this tool.

An Employee is Hurt During a Workplace Emergency – Can the Employer be Held Liable?
Whenever a crisis arises in the workplace, there is often concern regarding who is liable — whether it’s the government, a healthcare provider or the company itself. Liability during emergency situations is a tricky matter, and many businesses could be held accountable for employee injuries if they respond in the wrong way or fail to respond at all.
Emergency situation liabilities can stem from a wrongful death case to a slip and fall case that may involve a lawyer. This can put a lot of pressure on both employers and government officials from West Jordan, Utah to the rest of the state.
Potential Areas of Liability
Emergency first responders can potentially be held liable under matters of civil and criminal liability. They may be protected by different liabilities and waivers, but there’s still room for egregious conduct when responding to an emergency situation. For instance, an unfortunate slip and fall could arise during an emergency — and first responders could potentially be held liable on grounds of negligence.
youtube
Civil Liability
Civil liability is most likely where liability issues are going to arise. Civil liabilities include negligence, intentional harm, privacy violations, discrimination or misrepresentation. Even though one particular employee may have been responsible for an injury, the employee’s company would be held liable, as an employee acts as a representative of his or her company. However, an intentional tort can place blame upon an individual, if intent to harm can be successfully proven.
So if an employee were to intentionally trip someone, resulting in a slip and fall injury, then the employee could be held liable. If an accident were unintentional, then a company would have to hire a good lawyer out of West Jordan in order to ensure a smooth court case.
Defense in Intentional Torts
If you and your lawyer find yourself involved in an intentional tort case, there are two general arguments that you can make: you can either argue consent or necessity. In the argument of consent, such as in the case of a drug injury, one can argue that the patient was informed beforehand of what drug was going to be administered. This argument can also be used if medicine was administered while the person was unconscious.
youtube
Another argument that can be used is necessity. This could be used in a case in which someone intentionally causes a person to slip and fall in order to protect the person from further harm. These are a couple of routes that your West Jordan-area lawyer may take if you are involved in an intentional tort lawsuit.
Negligence
In an emergency situation, employers should do everything within their power to assist employees in danger — if not, they could be held liable for an injury due to their negligence. This could be a tough case for your lawyer to argue, especially if you had to opportunity to provide assistance but failed to take action. Your West Jordan-based company could be found liable for an injury due to negligence if you weren’t properly prepared, or breached some kind of employee confidentially.
If you find yourself in court in West Jordan Utah due to a slip and fall case during an emergency situation, use this knowledge and be prepared.

Small Business Lawyers
Salt Lake City seems to be one of few shining beacons that exist as an example of a success city following the aptly titled “great recession” of 2008. Many may remember that the real estate market suffered greatly during and shortly after the recession. Now, a business lawyer in Utah knows that real estate project owners can count on high demand as buildings and commercial lots are becoming packed with new and improved businesses. The average Utah lawyer is being retained by small and large businesses alike to develop the legal foundation for their hopeful real estate plans. This focus on new development follows a focus on the environment, according to many law firms in Salt Lake City Utah. A welcome move since Salt Lake City has high levels of pollution compared to other areas. In 2010, it was declared nationally that Northern Utah’s air was, by a very large gap, worse than any other air anywhere in the U.S. Following this painful discovery, Utahns have since decided that in order to have a healthier environment precautions must be taken for the future.
Salt Lake City Law Firms
Once it was activists and youth who declared their desire that new building and real estate endeavors adhere to certain standards, to benefit and preserve nature. Now, businessmen and real estate developers are, themselves, finding ways to be environmentally conscious for the benefit of consumers, wildlife and the environment, because they believe in it and not because they are legally bound. This is a dramatic shift in the attitude towards real estate development, which many health conscious citizens and Utah lawyers are supporting. Many agree that this stems from many factors, including the scientific evidence that has amassed and supported the effects of environmental health on personal health. A larger reason for this shift may be even simpler; the same college-bound, megaphone-yielding, environmental activists of the past ten years are finding themselves as powerful post grads in big businesses. Health conscious shifts are being created by the health conscious minds of many current CEOs and the changes are making an impact; a trend that’s even being seen in law firms in Salt Lake City Utah, as well. Studies now show that simple steps towards economic and environmental harmony create a much larger impact than previously thought and a Utah lawyer must be constantly aware of the environmental laws that now, and will soon, surround real estate development. A real estate lawyer Utah can depend on will have his or her skills put to the test as these legal alterations emerge in the next few years.
youtube
Apart from these environmental benefits of health conscious real estate development, tourism will take a jump, declares many attorneys in law firms in Salt Lake City Utah. More patrons and visitors will flock into the fair city that houses breathtaking landscape, especially if the air won’t take your breath away, says any Utah lawyer. That’s also something that Salt Lake City officials are happily taking under consideration and preparing for as efficiently as possible. For the month of July regulated free passes are being given for individuals who utilize the public transportation through the Salt Lake City area. With public transportation now reaching further than ever before, community will take on a much broader interpretation. A real estate lawyer Utah can depend on for accurate counsel would say this trend will only continue.
