it will be five months later and he just hangs his head in shame at the thought.

James is frequently dramatic, so you initially think very little of the sigh that he heaves against the crown of your head. You're content to keep scrolling- if he wants to explain himself, he will.

"Darling?"

There it is.

"Yes, Jamie?" You ask, peering up at him from the confines of your stuffy comforter, your phone momentarily set aside.

"Remember last November when we were arguing and I tried walking out and I told you I didn't wanna see your face for at least a week?"

Now it's your turn to sigh, "Yes, Jamie."

"I'm so sorry."

"Yes, Jamie. I know you are. You've told me."

"I know, but I just- I want to make sure you know I was talking out of my ass."

"I know," You smooth your hand across the plane of his hip, digging your fingertips into the plush of his ass as he yelps, "But y'make up for it by letting me squeeze it."

"Go ahead," He grits out, muscles tense as he buries his face into your shoulder, "I deserve it. Grope away, darling, have your way with me."

You're safe to roll your eyes at the absurdity of his sacrifice because his eyes are squeezed shut.

You lay two firm pats against his pajama pants with an air of finality, "You've paid your dues, James. You took me on a cruise vacation as an apology! You don't need to feel guilty anymore."

His sappy brown eyes meet your own as he drags his face out of your shoulder, "Are you sure? 'Cause I didn't mean it."

"Agh, I know!" You gush, taking his face in your hands and mashing your nose against his, "I know, I know, I know!" You plant a kiss on his lips that echoes slightly in its intensity, "I know you're sorry and I know you didn't mean it!"

"I love your face," He laments, keeping his own stuck to yours, "I really, really do."

"I know," You feel like a broken record, repeat-repeat-repeat, "I love yours too."

"Fuck, I'm so glad. Sirius says it's my moneymaker."

"That's 'cause he's never had a fistful of your ass, Potter."
