Have you watched any web series? The Lizzie Bennet Diaries on YouTube is one of my favorites ever! I just rewatched it for like the fourth time recently and it’s given me all the feelings again! I can't believe it's been 5 whole years since The Lizzie Bennet Diaries! I think LBD is probably my favorite Pride and Prejudice retelling. And the book is amazing too! Although I absolutely adore Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, I find the thousand and one retellings and adaptations tiring. Granted I've only read three, so far, but it just seems a bit "unoriginal" when the adaptations use the same names and characterizations. It feels ao much like reading a plagiarized Pride and Prejudice or a fanfiction based on the original classic. And yes, I can choose not to read them, but I just hope that authors would know that these adaptations aren't compelling reads so perhaps they should write more original stories and just leave Pride and Prejudice as "classic" as it should be.

After, purchase The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet by Bernie Su and Kate Rodrick to fill up all of your Austen Modern Adaptation needs. 

If you are already a Pemberly Digital fan, then you must read this book. Bernie Su and Kate Rodrick capture the essence of the series and its beloved character in this new written adaptation. They elaborate on the motives of Lizzie's decision to make a web series and give us more details about the stories behind Lizzie's signature reenactments.  

The book also gives us more of a taste of Mr and Mrs. Bennet beyond the funny hats and accents. There is one chapter in particular where Lizzie and Mrs. Bennet argue over her choice to refuse Mr. Collins. It reveals a more practical and concerned Mrs. Bennet that we don't see often in the show. 

Most important, for all you Darcy and Lizzie fans, prepare for more Darcy and Lizzie action! There is a chapter in which Lizzie, Darcy ,and Gigi take an exciting day trip through San Francisco. I promise that you will be fawning over how adorable they are together!

Overall, the book and web series compliment each other well. If anything, they create a more well-rounded experience .
