Posted @withregram • @campbellblackboard After the weekend’s glorious sunshine, today was very cold and the mist had descended. There were still hints of spring, but it felt distinctly wintery. They appear to be cleaning the weir in Belper and ridding the Water Gardens of the accumulated debris. My swim was consequently decidedly grubby, with plenty of twigs, silage and what I’m pretty sure was a dead sheep floating downstream. Needless to say, I got out pretty quickly, and will be swimming upstream and in a different stretch of the Derwent for the next few days. But it was a good reminder of what collects in our rivers, particularly after flooding.
