This a very, very belated post, but here it goes! #TheStrokesTheFirstTenYears , by Cody Smyth and contributing writers, is a must for any Strokes' fan. It's a great insight into their early history, as both friends and bandmates. Following the timeline of interspersed photos and writings, you can see band and photographer growing, side by side, which is a rare and beautiful opportunity made possible by their deep friendship. I'll definitely be going back to it! ❤️ . I'm glad I could make a combo of sorts reading this and "Meet Me in the Bathroom" back to back. It made some names, places, dates and events feel more familiar. Happy Bday Old School! In ‘03 @nikolai_fraiture was still living on the upper east side in his childhood apt. We made plans for me to come over and take some pics. Mostly shot on my dads old 4x5 and a few shots on 35mm. illy sat quietly in the kitchen through out. At the end I snapped a few shots of them together. Like the photos it’s a bit grainy years later, but I still remember this day clearly.
