HBR's Guide to Thinking Strategically by many authors ⭐⭐⭐ // Out of all the chapters "Zoom In, Zoom Out" was one of my favorites. Here are some takeaways: ✅ Zooming in brings the details into sharp focus. Zooming out is essential to big-picture decision making. ✅ The lens through which leaders view the world can help or hinder their ability to make good strategic decisions, especially during crises. ✅ Both perspectives—worm’s-eye and bird’s-eye—have virtues and pathologies. Una de las partes mas importantes para mi cuando viajo, es conocer un poquito de la historia del lugar en el que estoy. En Guadalajara, visité el Museo Cabañas y aparte de ser gigante (y Patrimonio de la Humanidad), tiene una galera de los Frescos de Jose Clemente Orozco. Mis pocas fotos y video no le hace justicia a lo Increible que es, más que la tecnica y arquitectura del lugar, la manera en la que juega con las dimensiones y perspectivas del espacio para contar parte de la historia mexicana e ilustrar los pensamientos del futuro. The Rap Yearbook by @shea.serrano ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ // It's not only about one of my favorite subjects (music) but it covers rap history chronologically 😍♥️ the writing was witty, entertaining and engaging. I'm even sharing a couple pages so you can see it was a dynamic read. Loved the fact that each year had a rebuttal so I could learn from others' perspectives. My love for Slipknot is a history of musical violence. I was often scared of the masks and almost felt the entered my life by brute force. If @coreytaylor's vocal dynamics lured me towards @slipknot, Joey Jordison was the reason I stayed. Whoever likes metal or rock can't deny what Joey brought to the genre. An absolute monster behind the kit who made it seem effortless, like he was floating in between beats. He challenged sound, aesthetics and the role of a drummer in a band against 8 other fucking dudes, mind you. I couldnt look away and thought how can someone so tiny be this intimidating? I was fascinated. Plus, his masks were consistent and amazing. My heavier taste in music comes from enjoying Joey's drumming so much. My experimental ventures with darker sounds come from all the shit he did, even with the dolls. I got super hooked up with Slipknot after having a dream starring Joey in a bus tour (we ain't ready for this story yet). He hasnt been in Slipknot for about 8 years but was a founder, he made the sound be the killer beast it was and still is. Some may think feeling sad for his death is stupid, but when someone has influenced you into discovering things you ultimately love and then losing them, it fucking sucks. Im thankful for the music he left, his legacy can't be ignored. The Art of War by Sun Tzu ⭐⭐⭐.5 / 5 || I get why this a classic. You must know the audible version is narrated by #LittleFinger so it made it even more enjoyable. I was picturing #GameofThrones settings all around. Anyway while some thoughts seemed outdated to me, some core ones still stand. I think the parts that stuck with me more were: ⚔️ The 9 battlegrounds: I just thought it was a great analogy for different situations in life and work. Forbes has a great illustrated article about it. "A Fish Doesn't Know It's Wet" by @pharrell ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Back in aries season, I read this book by the mightiest of Aries out there. A lot of nice photography and artwork that I didn't even know existed. What I liked most about it is that it's about his work but with a focus on the people he collaborates with, he's constantly talking about others and I thought that was a nice change of pace given that most books tend to only focus on the artist and their life.
