Bought bilipods' Jotaro Kujo earbuds. I needed a wireless one since my cat Coffee chewed on and destroyed all the wired earphones I had (I'm old school), almost every 2 months for the past 2 years.
I'm very much in love with the tiny schoolbag it came with. 💕

(still fairly new to some of these, so yeahhhh)
Now time to explain the rules in this blog and some stuff about me!
-fav animal is seals bc they so silly, also one my most fav youtubers, leamon puppy has her main as a seal, think that’s where I first started loving seals so much but idk XDDD
-I absolutely love vintage vids, just something so interesting about them to me! I love animes from the 90s-2010s most, but my most FAVORITE anime genre is magical girls!
-My first magical series was probably Glitter Force (SMILE PRECURE DUB YALL), but then Sailor Moon caught my eye and it is one my favs to this day! I finished Tokyo Mew Mew first though!
-Fav character is Pop Harukaze! She doesn’t get much of a role in Ojamajo Doremi as a Ojamajo, but something about her personality or something.. I am just living for it!
-Some other favs.. and yes I have a long list bc my autistic brain can’t choose favorites when they are so unique.. are Tsubomi/Cure Blossom, Komugi/Cure Wonderful, Ruby (BFDIA+), Gelatin (BFDIA+), Flower (BFDI+), Two (BFB), Firey (BFDI+), X (BFB), Teardrop (BFDI+), Four (BFB), Bloo (FHFIF), Mac (FHFIF), Aiko (Ojamajo Doremi), Onpu (Ojamajo Doremi), Chibi Chibi/Sailor Chibi Chibi, Saki/Cure Bloom, Minako/Sailor Venus, Erika/Cure Marine, Nagisa/Cure Black, Bu-Ling/Mew Pudding, Yayoi/Cure Peace, Love/Cure Peach, Hana-chan (Ojamajo Doremi), Pollun/Porun (Precure), Jewlulu (Pripara), Tweek (you know what), Oz (Canimals), Muffin (Bluey), Zane (Mystreet/Aphmau), Garroth (Mystreet/Aphmau), Kim (Mystreet/Aphmau), Ian (Mystreet/Aphmau) and Noi (MID/Aphmau)!
-Fav color is lavender and pastel yellow
-Im scatterbrained at times, but can try remembering anything you say! Im clumsy and shy! <3
-“Do you have games on your phone” YES BUT LEAVE THEM IF ITS MY PHONE OR IPAD XDDD, especially my dear Animal Jam >:3
-I don’t really prefer to talk on email or text.. just tell me something on here or a social media platform like Youtube or Deviantart! I still use Gold the Ostrich as the user!
-Fav thing to say is “HOR HOR HOR HOR HOR” all i freaking know about fnaf is the movie with unnecessary add on lore 💀
-I don’t mind cussing, it’s just not a full on “lifestyle” for me
Now some rules! <3
-Everyone is allowed on my blog, it is mostly a tickle/random blog, but it’s quite decent so far!
-If you dislike this blog, please don’t say unnecessary stuff in your blogs, posts in any other media, etc if so. Just try ignoring this blog if possible.
-I can do commissions, especially of the following fandoms, but pls don’t get too upset if I don’t know a certain fandom, sometimes I forget to add a fandom to here.
- I am a minor, 13 in fact! So no sussy requests pleaseeee!! any other tickle requests are okay, even from fandoms I dont know, or your ocs! pls dont be mad if I don’t want to do your request! I will do anything that is sfw and accept lgbtq+ characters aswell!
-Might update this later, but this is good for now! Also this might stay as my only blog due to having no other ideas for blogs at the moment

Are you familiar with demon slayer and the AC JPN dubbing , if you do. Then be prepared for this. The demon slayer voice casting has 6 VAs who does the voices of the AC protagonists
Altair & Uzui
Ezio & Sanemi
Connor & haganezuka
Arno & tanjiro’s dad
Jacob & enmu
Bayek & yahaba “arrow demon”
Aya & Daki
Imagine them meeting the voice counter parts
Oh, yeah, I’m a bit familiar with the Japanese dub of Assassin’s Creed and I watch Demon Slayer when it’s airing in Japan then I rewatch it in the English dub because I enjoy watching English dubs in general XD.
Before anything…
Imma list the names of their JP voices and a few other characters they voice. (And I will be focusing on the ones listed by @ullyaboo because… well… this would get too long if I start listing everybody...)
Altaïr is voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Sombron/Hubert/Xander/Randal from Fire Emblem, @princesslikesfanfics might recognize him as Tory Innis from Ancient Magus’ Bride, Diavolo from Jojo, Lloyd Irving from Tales series, America/Canada from Hetalia, and mecha fans might recognize him as our bestest aniki Kamina)
No, seriously.
Can we just take a moment to think about how Altaïr’s JP voice also voiced these characters as well:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, shoutout to him being the voice of the dead big brother of my Trails blorbo XD
Ezio is voiced by Tomokazu Seki
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(HE VOICED MIGUEL O’HARA IN THE JP DUB OF ATSV, oh and Toad in the Mario movie, Jojo fans will probably find it funny that he voices Father Pucci and his stand, Panda from JJK, Gilgamesh from Fates, mecha fans would remember his “SHINING FISTS” as Domon Kasshu, he’s also Toya in Cardcaptor Sakura, and Van Fanel of Vision of Escaflowne (one of the earliest isekai anime))
Ratonhnhaké:ton is voiced by Daisuke Namikawa
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Lindel from Ancient Magus’ Bride, Anasui AND Giogio from Jojo, Yamato from Digimon, Persona 4’s MC, the jp voice of Sekiro from… well… Sekiro, Richard from Tales series, Italy from Hetalia, and Lupin the 3rd’s Goemon)
This deserves to be seen: Ratonhnhaké:ton’s JP Voice also voices Oikawa (Haikyuu) and Italy (Hetalia - also Romano) (this means that Ratonhnhaké:ton sang the Hetalia ending song)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he’s the JP voice of Jake Muller, Wesker’s kid in RE6.
Arno is voiced by Shinichiro Miki
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ROY MUSTANG from FMA, Randy Orlando from Trails, Sir Nighteye from BNHA/MHA, James from Pokemon, Alucard from Castlevania, Lockon Stratos (*haro voice* Lockon, Lockon, Lockon, incoherent sobbing) from Gundam, Hijikata from Hakuoki)
(side note: Elise’s JP voice is Toyoguchi Megumi who voices Rengoku’s mother and I don’t want to mess up Tanjiro’s family but… half-brothers Tanjiro and Rengoku AU???)
Jacob is voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Kakyoin from Jojo, Cao Lee and Rufus Albarea from Trails, Rei from Free, Makoto Ito from School Days (lollol, at least Jacob doesn't have the worst love life in this list), and Orlando Bloom in Kingdom Hearts games XD)
Bayek is voiced by Jun Fukuyama (JP voices of Origin (and Valhalla) weren't in Behind the Voice Actor so I had to doublecheck with JP wiki XD)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Persona 5’s MC, Lelouch Vi Brittania/Zero from Code Geass, Yukio from Blue Exorcist, Korosensei from Assassination Classroom, Maximilian from Valkyria Chronicles, Watanuki from xxxHolic)
Aya is voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(female Robin from Fire Emblem, Milla Maxwell from Tales, Katalina from GBF, Elizabeth from Persona, Jolyn Cujoh from Jojo, Shinku in Rozen Maiden, Franziska von Karma in Ace Attorney, Celty from Durarara!!, Touko from Danganronpa)
Now…
For the actual ask portion:
Altaïr would probably be annoyed at Uzui at first because he’s so flashy. They’d probably spar and Altaïr would start to respect him after understanding that, underneath all that ‘flashiness’, Uzui is strong and has conviction (side note: Uzui’s three wives makes me think Makio - Maria, Hinatsuru - Adha and Suma - Kadar XD)
Ezio would think of Sanemi as having skills and potential but he won’t like his attitude. AC2!Ezio would definitely butt heads with Sanemi a lot, especially after he sees how Sanemi acts around his younger brother (since he doesn’t know the whole story) and he’d definitely try to act like a nice big brother to Genya, Brotherhood!Ezio and Revelations!Ezio would not be provoked by Sanemi and act more like an older brother/mentor role that Sanemi doesn’t want at all and thinks is super annoying.
Haganezuka would totally like Ratonhnhaké:ton because Ratonhnhaké:ton would take care of any weapon he receives from Haganezuka. Ratonhnhaké:ton will also be willing to listen to Haganezuka talk about swords for houurrrss. Achilles would have to be the one to smack Haganezuka to get out of the homestead after giving Ratonhnhaké:ton his sword. (Why is Achilles there? Idk, crossover???)
All I can think of is Arno getting adopted by the Kamado family. Tanjuro is quite frail and he’s been sick for a while now so their meeting would probably remind Arno of his late father. But, man, just imagine Arno dancing Hinokami Kagura…
Oh god. Enmu would totally fuck with Jacob using his dreams/nightmares. Like, every pain and weakness Jacob has, Enmu would take advantage of it. Worst of all? Jack the Ripper's actions would definitely haunt Jacob till the day he dies so Enmu using Jack in the attack would really hurt. Enmu wasn’t even a good person as a human but considering Jacob’s luck and bad judge of character? Absolutely won’t be surprised if he invites human!Enmu to the Rooks as a ‘doctor’.
I think Bayek has a good chance of taking out Yahaba. Dude got an actual flaming sword in the main story and I’m sure Reda would have a weapon made of Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand and Scarlet Ore for some reason and, as long as Bayek understood how Yahaba’s blood demon art works, he’d be fine. Bayek took out giant gods (in the Animus), he can take out this demon.
Oh, Aya would not like Daki at all. She might even be reminded of Cleopatra a bit because of her arrogant and dismissive personality which wouldn’t help the situation. They’d definitely fight and… Aya would probably need help on this one. I’m not sure if she ever got into any Isu BS that ended in a boss fight so I can’t be sure how she would handle fighting Daki and her obi attacks. Human!Daki though? Aya would definitely recruit her and her brother to the Hidden Ones if she found them as kids. But if she saw her as her usual cruel self? Yeah, Aya’s not going to like her.
If anyone wants an actual Demon Slayer x AC crossover idea, let me know?

Manga Recommendations!
I've been asked a few times to recommend manga for people, so this is my Master List for Recs! The basic rules are that I have to have read at least 3 available volumes before recommending it, unless there are less than that available in English. I've included any major content warnings, but I will miss some stuff. I've differentiated between Romance, BL/GL and Queer Positive mostly because of vibes and the fact that I figured if you wanted to pick out Queer Stories then it was easier to jump to that section than scoot through romance! And also I didn't want people to think that just because I'm recommending a BL/GL series doesn't mean I think it's good Gay Rep! But as they say, I support Gay Wrongs AS WELL as Gay Rights.
If the series has a * it means it's available on the Shonen Jump App/Viz Media Website as part of their subscription service.
Action Adventure
Blue Exorcist* by Kazue Kato (134 chapters, ongoing, final arc)
Rin Okumura appears to be an ordinary, somewhat troublesome teenager—that is until one day he is ambushed by demons. His world turns upside down when he discovers that he is in fact the very son of Satan and that his demon father kills his adoptive father with the aim of possessing Rin so he can conquer Assiah. Whilst the other Exorcists decide the solution is to kill Rin, he persuades them to let him train to become an exorcist himself under the tutelage of all those at True Cross Academy. Including his younger twin brother Yukio!
Another one to add to the list of "Good Shonen Written By Women".
Cardcaptor Sakura by CLAMP 9 Volumes, complete.
Quintesential Magical Girl series! Sakura Kinomoto is a normal ten year-old girl until she accidentally releases the mystical clow cards! Now with the help of Keros -- the Guaradian of the cards -- she must locate and capture all the escaped cards before they cause more mayhem on her home town! She's not the only one looking to become master of the clow though, and soon Sakura is making new rivals as well as new friends.
CW: This series was written in th 90s and it shows. There are multiple positive depictions of Student/Teacher relationships including one between a ten year old and her homeroom teacher. These are deemed as okay because they are soulmates.
Demon Slayer* by Koyoharu Gotouge 23 Volume, complete.
Returning home one day, 14 year old Tanjiro discovers that his whol family has been killed by a demon. The only survivor is his younger sister Nezuko, who has instead been turned into a demon herself. He must now join the Demon Slayer Core in order to find the demon who killed his family and find a way to turn Nezuko back into a human!
CW: Graphic depictions of violence. Implied sexual assult. Implied child sex workers. Child death. A character must repeatedly cut their throat in order to escape a dream world.
Kaiju No. 8* by Naoya Matumoto (ongoing)
"Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8."
What to do when you want to battle Kaiju but you yourself are also a Kaiju.
My Hero Academia Vigilantes* by Hideyuki Furuhashi ad Betten Court 126 chapters (complete)
"Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…"
Okay, hear me out. This one is for the Superhero fans wanting to get into manga. This is the Batman to mainline's Shazam, but without all the women in refridgerators. It's digs deeper on the more adult aspects of hero society, with a more anti-cop, anti-establishment appraoch. It's also facinating to see Koichi become LESS synical as the series goes on.
This series also made Midnight one of my favourite characters and now it's really awkward when people assume I just mean mainline Midnight and not Midnight who was allowed to have depth and development.
CW: Implied sexual assult
Prince Freya by Keiko Ishihara (8 Volumes available in English, ongoing)
"The powerful kingdom of Sigurd has slowly been conquering all the lands that share its borders, and now it has turned its voracious attention to the small, resource-rich kingdom of Tyr. Tyr cannot hope to match Sigurd in strength, so in order to survive it must rely on the intelligence, skill, and cunning of its prince and his loyal knights. But when the prince is poisoned, a young village maiden named Freya, who bears a shocking resemblance to the fallen prince, must step into his place to save them all."
CW: Non-Graphic Sexual Assault, sexual themes, Non-Con Kissing, Heavy Violence, Decapitation, Trauma, PTSD
The King's Beast by Rei Toma (9 volumes available in English, ongoing)
Rangetsu is an Ajin, a person with animal features, mystical abilities and a second class citizen. Female Ajin are forced into sex work and male Ajin are forced into the millitary. If they are lucky, they might be taken away as a Beast Servant for one of the King's children. That's what happend to Rangetsu's twin brother, Sogetsu until he was suddenly murdered in a political assasination. Rangetsu swears revenge, and diguises herself as a man in order to become the Prince's new Beast Servant. Yet when the time comes to kill him, can she actually do it?
CW: There is an underlining Master X Servant (Slave) relationship but this is depicted as knowingly problematic and messy, although still inherently romantic. A slave class is depicted as animalistic. Attempted Sexual Assualt. Sexual Assualt. Attempted child sexual assult. Forced Prostitution. Cannibalism. Mental Illness.
Tokyo Mew Mew by Reiko Yoshida and Mia Ikumi (3 Omnibus Volumes, complete)
"Momomiya Ichigo was just trying to enjoy a date with the boy she liked, Aoyama Masaya. Instead, she ended up conscripted into a struggle against aliens intent on wiping humanity from the earth! The Mew Project has infused five young girls with the DNA of endangered creatures, and given them special powers to fight chimera anima, earth animals transformed into monsters by alien parasites. Somehow, Ichigo has to get her teammates to work together, battle chimera anima, and fend off the attacks (and advances?) of the aliens themselves. And that's in addition to keeping her identity secret and improving her relationship with Masaya. Not to mention, just who is that mysterious Blue Knight anyway?"
Witch Hat Atelier by Kamone Shiramama (9 Volumes available in English, ongoing)
"In a world where everyone takes wonders like magic spells and dragons for granted, Coco is a girl with a simple dream: She wants to be a witch. But everybody knows magicians are born, not made, and Coco was not born with the gift for magic. She's resigned to her un-magical life, until a traveling magician passes through her village, and Coco learns what what everybody "knows" might not be the truth."
Yona of the Dawn by Mizuho Kusanagi 40+ Volumes ongoing
"Princess Yona lived a happy life with her peace-loving father, King Il. Then one day a betrayal in the palace causes Yona to lose everything, turning her into an exile with no one left but Hak to defend her. Yona is determined to become strong in her own right and defeat those who wronged her, and an ancient legend involving the Crimson Dragon King and his four Dragon Warriors may be her key to reclaiming her kingdom."  CW: Violence, murder, drug abuse, threats of sexual violence
Boy Love/Girl Love

"Shinya Sugiki, the dashing lord of Standard Ballroom, and Shinya Suzuki, passionate king of Latin Dance: The two share more than just a first name and a love of the sport. They each want to become champion of the 10-Dance Competition, which means they'll need to learn the other's specialty dances, and who better to learn from than the best? But old rivalries die hard, and things get complicated even further when they realize there might be more between them than an uneasy partnership..."
CW: Internalised homophobia/biphobia, Casual Xenophobia/Racism (treated negatively)

Too bad the rules of the brothel are clear—no orgasms, no penetration, and no falling in love!"
CW: Flashbacks to Child Sexual Assault/Child Prostitution, graphic depictions of violence, blackmail.
Overall it has a Positive depiction of Sex Work, but YMMV

Drama

CW: Societal Transphobia and Homophobia
The Life Changing Manga Of Tidying Up by Mari Kondo

Very, incredibly shojo and yet all the tropes feel completely relevant and earned! There is also a huge focus on consent and communication throughout which I am a very big fan of. Also the use of lettering to inform storytelling is SO DAMN GOOD it makes me want to scream. Also hands. So many beautiful pictures of hands. We also need more stories with disabled protagonists in this world <3
Fruits Basket by Natsuki Takaya, 23 Volumes (complete) Available in English as 12 Volume Collector's editions from YenPress
What starts off a story of an orphan high school girl who discovers that a bunch of pretty boys will turn into Chinese Zodiac Animals if she hugs them quickly becomes a heartfelt and moving story about escaping the cycle of abuse. It quickly becomes clear that the actual curse the Sohma Clan are under is nothing to do with turning into animals, but rather the suffering they endure under an unending cycle of abuse encouraged by all those around them.
It covers themes such as learning the importance of self love, allowing yourself to put you first for a change and being brave enough to ask for help when needed. The series is open and honest about the complexity of forgiveness, and how everyone deserves a chance to change and become a better person no matter how impossible that may seem-- yet at the same time does not demand that victims forgive them or accept their attempts at recompanse.
This series requires you to think and contemplate. I have read it numerous times over the years, and each time I come away with something new. This series shaped me as a person, and if you can put up with the late 90s/early 00s Shojo Nonsense then it's absolutely worth a read!

Tumblr media
So I still haven’t finished rewatching Madoka, but I’m far enough to revisit this.
To rank magical girl shows, I feel like we have to start by defining what a magical girl show actually is. One option is this list on Wikipedia, which describes its criteria as:
Magical girl (魔法少女, mahō shōjo) is a subgenre of Japanese fantasy media centered around young girls who use magic, often through an alter ego into which they can transform. Since the genre's emergence in the 1960s, media including anime, manga, OVAs, ONAs, films, and live-action series have been produced.
This is a pretty vague definition, and I’d disagree with some of the calls on the list. For one thing, it includes Slayers, and while I don’t know much about the pre-Sailor-Moon ideas of magical girl media, I don’t think Slayers has much relation to the current image of a “magical girl”.
Tumblr media
Lina Inverse is a girl who uses magic, but so are a number of other fantasy protagonists. I’d rather go for a more specific definition.
My inclination is to describe the standard image of a “magical girl” as being a girl who starts in the “mundane” side of a setting with some sort of hidden “fantastical” side, then somehow receives powers from the fantastical side and has to go back and forth between mundane life and fantastical problems. This frequently involves some sort of patron figure from the fantastical side (often a small animal companion), as well as magical outfit/appearance changes marking the activation of her powers, which can facilitate a superhero-like secret identity.
(In contrast, Slayers has no divide, magic is everywhere in Lina’s world.)
But magical girls can appear in stories that I would not consider magical girl stories, such as Miss Kuroitsu. So to define a “magical girl story”, I would say that it must be a story told primarily from the perspective of a magical girl.
According to these definitions, I’ve picked up about ten magical girl shows over the past year. I’ll leave out Tokyo Mew Mew New because it’s only got half a season so far and I haven’t watched the original, so ranking the others based purely on personal preference, I’d say:
Magical Girl Site
Magical Girl Ore
Revue Starlight
Magical Girl Raising Project
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
Revolutionary Girl Utena
Cardcaptor Sakura
Princess Tutu
Sailor Moon
Also, while I don’t feel like I can actually count it, honorable mention to Demon Girl Next Door.
Tumblr media
Shamiko is basically a kind of magical girl, and Momo, who is a magical girl, is the best part of the show. But it’s too much of a slice-of-life show to feel fully relevant to the others here.
Now, if I were to rank Puella Magi Madoka Magica against this list, I’d put it somewhere in the neighborhood of Raising Project and Nanoha. The problem is, according to this criteria, PMMM is not a magical girl show.
Tumblr media
PMMM certainly involves magical girls, but it’s told primarily from Madoka’s perspective, and for the bulk of the show, Madoka is not a magical girl. Madoka meets Kyubey and gains access to the city’s magical underworld, as well as to Kyubey’s telepathy network, but she does this as an unpowered observer. The result is that, rather than focusing on the experience of being a magical girl, PMMM focuses on the experience of being an external observer of magical girls.
I don’t think this is necessarily a bad thing, and I do think the thing PMMM does is pretty neat in its own right. (Plus, its music is great.) But it’s a very different thing from what magical girl shows are normally expected to offer.
Which does raise the question of, what if the main perspective we followed was Homura’s? I’d say PMMM would feel significantly more like a magical girl show in that case, and that Homura’s backstory episode makes for a good example of this. (Rebellion less so, since that’s where Homura basically stops meeting the conventional definition of a magical girl.) But the show as it exists focuses on Madoka’s perspective, and that shapes it heavily.
There’s a previous post I wrote about comparisons between PMMM and Magical Girl Site, taking a closer look at the focus areas of the two shows and how they compare to the overall magical girl genre. (tl;dr: Site is much more of what you’d actually expect a dark magical girl show to be.)
Speaking of which, let’s take a closer look at that ranking list.
---
Tumblr media
1. Magical Girl Site (2018)
I wouldn’t call Magical Girl Site the best show on this list in terms of broader standards (that would probably be Revue Starlight), but it’s the one that most fits my specific tastes in fucked-up stuff. Even with that in mind, this isn’t an entirely fair ranking, since my opinion of the show increased after reading the manga. The manga is not particularly good, but it does help flesh out the characters and scenario, making it feel a lot more complete and thereby adding weight back to the show.
The previous post goes into more detail about my thoughts on Magical Girl Site, but in short, I think it’s a really cool blend of magical girl story elements with a particularly dark scenario. The anime only covers about halfway through the manga, so I hope it gets a second season at some point, or at least a movie. There’s some fun stuff later on that I’d really like to see the anime’s approach to.
Tone aside, an unusual thing about Magical Girl Site is that it’s the only show on this list where the characters don’t have any sort of transformation sequences or special combat outfits. Which makes it particularly striking that it’s also one of the shows that includes a trans magical girl.
For anyone considering checking it out, assume Content Warning: Everything - this is a show where one of the first shots is the main character trying to throw herself in front of a train. It’s got a positive side as well, and more of one than Madoka or Raising Project, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

Tumblr media
2. Magical Girl Ore (2018)
Magical Girl Ore is not in the Wikipedia list, which I say is ridiculous. Saki is absolutely a magical girl, regardless of appearances. (Sakuyo, on the other hand, seems much more enthusiastic about the transformation.)
Ore is a very silly show, and I found it to be a lot of fun. It’s also a rare instance of F>M genderbending, which is more points in its favor.
I should point out that this list has a general “Content Warning: Anime” in effect, and Ore is certainly no exception. It’s simultaneously parodying both magical girl shows and yaoi, with all that entails.
---
Tumblr media
3. Revue Starlight (2018)
Revue Starlight is the other show that’s on my list but not Wikipedia’s, and I do think this is a more debatable case. It’s really a music show first and foremost, but I feel like it has enough magical girl aspects to count. In any case, it’s adorable, and the songs are excellent.
Revue Starlight focusing its magical aspects on dueling arenas is a characteristic it shares with Utena, although Revue Starlight’s duels are much cooler. Also like Utena, it’s pretty abstract and confusing, although not to the same extent.
---
Tumblr media
4. Magical Girl Raising Project (2016)
Raising Project is the show here with the closest resemblance to Madoka, in both tone and content. Two notable differences are that the the deadly scenario the magical girls are lured into is a 16-way survival game, and that the main character is actually a magical girl.
The second point is ultimately what lead me to re-thinking the definition of magical girl shows and how Madoka relates to it. Snow White is certainly a passive protagonist, but she experiences the battle royale from the inside rather than the outside, and that really does make a big difference.
One of the magical girls is described as “one of the few boys able to transform into a magical girl”, so apparently darker magical girl shows are the most likely ones to involve trans girls.
---
Tumblr media
5. Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (2004)
Finally stepping back into older shows, Nanoha is probably the show that did the most to shape the “darker and gayer” take on magical girls. I’m only two seasons into it so far, so I’ll focus on impressions from those.
Nanoha’s characters are a lot of fun, and the fight scenes are great. That said, its tone and worldbuilding are kind of incoherent, in ways that can undercut the more serious aspects. It also has some... weirder stuff, such as its take on transformation sequences. But it’s also a show where the main character befriends the girl she likes by shooting giant lasers at her, and I’ll give a lot of points for that.
---
Tumblr media
6. Revolutionary Girl Utena (1997)
Utena is the other show from the original question, and it’s a tricky one for me to rate. One reason is that I watched it a month before the wave of anime I started in January, so comparing impressions to the others is a bit trickier. The other is that Utena is a really weird show.
I’ll probably need to rewatch Utena at some point to fully figure out what to think of it, but for now, I’m putting it here. I’ve seen talk of it being originally imagined as a parody of magical girl anime before evolving into more of a deconstruction, and I feel like that helps explain its bizarre mix of tones. It’s also a form of darker-and-gayer, although in a different way than Nanoha and its successors, and it’s another show with a bunch of fun songs.
Describing Utena as a magical girl show has always seemed a bit odd to me, although admittedly it sticks out less than Revue Starlight. From a characterization perspective, it certainly fits, but the magic tends to be more abstract and less fantastical than the others. The movie is more fantastical than the show, but in its own particularly weird ways.
---
Tumblr media
7. Cardcaptor Sakura (1998)
Cardcaptor Sakura is the lightest show on this list, but it’s very cute. It’s also the one I watched most recently, I actually just finished it today.
Like most of the others here, it involves a standard power-activation sequence, except in this case it doesn’t change Sakura’s outfit. She does often fight in various outfits Tomoyo makes for her, though.
---
Tumblr media
8. Princess Tutu (2002)
In my earlier post, Princess Tutu is the show I ended up picking as the closest comparison to Magical Girl Site’s structure. The two have big differences in tone and content, but Tutu gets pretty grim at times in some related ways.
It’s the least queer show on this list, although that doesn’t say much, and I still say Ahiru’s story feels pretty trans. (She’s assigned duck at birth!)
---
Tumblr media
9. Sailor Moon (1992)
Sailor Moon is the oldest show here, and did a lot to help pave the way for the others. That said, it also feels like the most dated. It can be pretty repetitive, and I really don’t like Tuxedo Mask.
I’ve watched two seasons so far, the first was pretty good but I was not impressed by the second one. Still, there’s characters later on that I’m looking forward to meeting, and I plan to watch more soon.
---
This list focused mostly on stuff I watched this past year, but I can’t actually think of any other relevant anime I’ve watched. Miraculous Ladybug is a magical girl show that’s not anime, I watched a season and a half of it but that was years ago. My favorite show is She-Ra, which has some resemblance to magical girl shows, but I don’t think it fully qualifies since there isn’t really a mundane world. So that’s about it.
That got significantly longer than I’d planned, but apparently I have a lot to say about magical girl shows.

I was thinking about this earlier, and you are the perfect person for this ask. What do you suppose are each of the boys' favorite animes? Bonus, what show recommendations does Olive have for them? (I had to include her, I miss her!)
I hope you have a relaxing, restful evening 💜
Ooooh this is a good one!
Nathan: Aggretsuko! I feel like this is an obvious choice, but it just fits so well!
Pickles: Cowboy Beebop. Look, I just feel it in my bones that he would love it. I just know.
Murderface: Berserk, because of course its his favorite. Its dark, its violent, its medieval. Whats not to love?
Toki: Cardcaptor Sakura. Again, another obvious choice, but look. We all know in our hearts its the truth.
Skwisgaar: Castlevania. He is literally Alucard. Plus, I just feel like Skwis has a thing for vampire media. Idk dude, I just get that vibe.
Charles: he doesn't watch anime. Yet.
Olive: she would have soo many recommendations for them! I actually have a few little sub plots of the story already planned out where she introduces them to a few various ones. For exaple:
-coming up in the next couple chapters actually, so mild spoilers, Olive is going to be watching a LOT of Naruto as a coping mechanism, and the boys will get second hand exposure by hanging around her. They will get interested in an arch here and there, but none of them have the patience or attention span to watch the entire series.😂 She will proceed to make salty little remarks for the remainder of the story about how none of them watched it. "Maybe if you had seen Episode xyz of Naurto, this wouldn't have happened.🤷‍♀️"
-Toki being nosey and going through the clothes in her closet, coming across a Sailor Moon cosplay costume from a con she went to previously, and the two end up watching the entire series together over a span of time! Also she may or may not try it on for him😉
-her finding out they havent seen Death Note and being (rightfully) shocked, and they all binge the series together over the course of a couple days, just all glued to the couch. The boys dont really get all the back and forth between L and Light, but the show is dark and intriguing enough and has enough murders to keep them interested. There are jokes made about how Olive sometimes dresses similarly to Misa.
-Olive watching Yugioh, the boys discovring that she played the shit out of Duel Monsters and has binders full of cards. Hijinks insue as she attempts to teach them to play. They watch the dub and all laugh at the 4Kids censoring.
-there will be quite a few others Olive just has on in the background when the guys go bother her or hang out in her room that will snag their attentions to various degrees with varying amount of commentary, such as:
One Piece
Inuyasha
One Punch Man
Kakegurui
Yu Yu Hakusho
Ouran High School Host Club
Samurai Champloo
Love Live
Demon Slayer
K-On

I made a list for webtoons, might as well make a list for manga/anime! I wasn't really allowed to watch too much cartoons TV growing up, so for the past few years, I've been "catching up" so to speak on the anime I missed out on aaand also watching newer ones lol Anyhoo, here's what I've seen/read so far (in alphabetical order):
Arte (Hulu) Manga continues
Black Butler (Hulu) ((full disclosure, I wasn't super paying attention when I watched this, so I have to watch it again lol))
Blue Exorcist (Hulu) ((I haven't finished it yet))
Cardcaptor Sakura/Clear Card Arc (Netflix) ((One of my faves as a kid, I had a board game for it, even! It has since been lost to time, though. T_T))
Cells at Work (Netflix) ((Also haven't finished yet lol))
Corpse Princess (Hulu) ((See Black Butler lol))
Dance with Devils (Hulu)
Demon Slayer (Hulu) ((haven't seen a lot yet, please don't come for me, I'm trying lol))
Devil is a Part-Timer! (Hulu)
Diabolik Lovers (Hulu)
Dragonball/DBZ/DBS (Funimation) ((I got Funimation just so I could watch Dragonball, then I figured I might as well get a refresher of DBZ since I hadn't seen it since it was on Toonami, all while my BF and I were watching DBS on Toonami/Adult Swim lol)
Fairy Tail/100 Years Quest (all the seasons were on Hulu, but they took all but 2 down, so I've been watching it on Funimation) I am SO excited to see 100YQ animated! It's been fun to read.
Food Wars! (Hulu)
Fruits Basket (both runs are on Hulu)
Fushigi Yuugi (Hulu) ((I actually don't know if I finished this...after a while I was just waiting for it to be over and it just. wasn't. ending.
Horimiya (Hulu)
Inuyasha/Final Act (Hulu/Netflix has the movies) ((another fave from my childhood))
Itazura na Kiss (Hulu) ((I'm not sure why people like this))
Jujustu Kaisen (Hulu) ((I think I started reading this after I finished watching it, but I've been super busy and forgot lol))
Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Hulu)
Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits (Funimation)
Kamisama Kiss (Hulu) ((ugh...I love this and it's criminal that the anime didn't finish with the manga))
Kimi ni Todoke (Hulu)
Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life (Hulu)
Little Witch Academia (Netflix)
Magic-Kyu! Renaissance (Funimation)
Mahoutsukai no Yome [The Ancient Magus' Bride] (Funimation) ((I love this, too, but I had to take a break from the manga because I was getting irritated with the FL and the choices she was making lmao I've been meaning to pick it back up, though, it really is very good!))
Maid Sama! (Hulu)
My Love Story! (Hulu)
Noragami (Hulu) ((made me cry in a way that my BF asked me what was wrong lol))
Ouran High School Host Club (Hulu) ((I'm sorry, I don't get the love for this, but I also haven't been able to read it yet, so maybe I will once I do))
Pokemon [Kanto-beginning of Hoenn] (Hulu) ((I have not kept up with it over the years and the only reason why I know of any of the newer Pokemon is because of PokemonGo and the new Pokemon Snap--which has been really fun so far--lol))
Ranma 1/2 (Hulu)
Rurouni Kenshin (HBO Max) ((I liked this, but I thought the story was super choppy))
Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts (manga only for now, but I think I just saw that an anime is coming soon!!) ((this is so beautifully drawn and sooo well written! It made me audibly react sometimes)
Sailor Moon [OG] (Hulu) ((My absolute favorite when I was a kid! My mom even watched it with me lol I wanted to be Sailor Mars sooooo bad I always kept my hair long just like her! I've got her as a keychain right now lol))
Say "I Love You" (Hulu)
School Rumble: 1st-3rd Semesters (Hulu) ((I didn't even watch the last episode. Literally nothing happened and I just felt bad for the guy. I couldn't watch it anymore lol)
Snow White with the Red Hair (Hulu) ((I hope it gets more seasons, but I also hope it gets better animation. I know people worked hard on it, but it does not do the manga justice. It's so beautifully drawn and written, this is for sure one of my favorites!))
Spice ad Wolf (Hulu)
Spy x Family (Hulu) ((It was popping up so much on my tumblr around ep 4 that I had to know what people were talking about and I'm so glad I did!))
Vampire Knight (Hulu) ((Didn't/Couldn't finish it))
Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina (Hulu)
Yashahime (Hulu) ((It's not what I was expecting/hoping for, but I've had fun watching it))
Yona of the Dawn (Hulu) ((this NEEDS more seasons, the manga gets SO INTENSE))
You're Lie in April (HBO Max is where I watched it, but I think it's on Hulu, too) ((ugly cried))
Yu Yu Hakusho (Hulu) ((I only saw a few episodes as a kid, but I remember really loving the art style and the voices. It's still one of my faves))
Yu-Gi-Oh! (Hulu) ((I watched this every time it came on Toonami, I had a whole deck that I lost--which I'm still sad about--but I have a new deck and sometimes my BF and I play each other lol))
I've got an excel spreadsheet with these and others that I want to watch, but haven't yet, totaling 126 lmao As of right now (1/2023) I have no desire to watch Attack on Titan, One Piece, or Naruto (again, please don't come for me and PLEASE don't try to convince me), but I welcome any other recommendations and/or discussions/chats about any I listed!

Archetrope Chatter
So we were some of the folks who helped coin Archetrope over on NNP.
Lets talk about that
To define Archetrope;
Archetrope- A person who heavily identifies ‘with’ or ‘as’ an archetype, trope, or otherwise preestablished character model or ‘trope’ on an integral level to ones identity. It can fall anywhere on the voluntary-involuntary and with-as identification spectrum. Entities that fall under the archetype may feel like they are kintypes/hearttypes/theriotypes/etc, but are not quite as such. It is an innately flexible label.
The word can be used in both ‘having an x’ and ‘being an x’ forms.
For examples of what this can look like, ‘Jane’s archetrope is magical girl mascot characters’ or ‘John’s archetrope is druids’
My experience of having an Archetype begins in the same root as the systems shared feline alterhumantity. For a long time, most of our positive social interactions were with animals, our cat was who put us to bed and made sure we ate and comforted us.
For the shared feline alterhumanity, this imprints on some level of identifying with or as for each of us in the system. I Am a cat psychologically and for lack of a better term, culturally. I personally don’t really identify as a therian regarding this anymore, just nonhuman.
Our childhood cat, long may he rest in peace, raised us better than any other adult in our lives and taught us everything important.
We were not a feral child, but its closer than many people get.
In relation to this, ‘raised by beasts’ characters (think San from Princess Mononoke, classic Tarzan, or Inosuke Hashibira from Demon Slayer), strike a very strong chord with me to the point in many cases of feeling like heartedness/sympaths, sometimes even like being fictionkind. The feeling evaporates when examined with any level of proper scrutiny- its not a load-bearing identification with that character specifically, just with that specific narrative function. This feeling seems to possibly be mine because I inherited the most of The Original’s memories, and was fronting for a large part of the time when we were largely raised by our cat.
‘Raised by beasts’ isn't the exact stretch of the archetrope either, though, there is more to it, any character who is protected by a obvious nonhuman/has a nonhuman companion they rely on also does it, such as Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura, or Natsume from Natsume’s Book of Friends. So it would be fair to say the proper expanse of the trope is the ‘human’ half of a nonhuman-human duo in which the nonhuman is the guardian (familial or otherwise). A bit of a mouthful to state commonly, to say the least.
For me its not a heavy identification, it is ‘with’, less than ‘as’. Its a load-bearing aspect of my identity, but not the way being a dragon is, or even being a cat, and not quite as intensely as either. Being a (again for lack of any specific word for it we can find) partial feral child makes that trope highly relatable and characters under it I have a strong affinity for. An affinity that is to the point I get fictionflickers about it on occasion. I catch myself questioning if my identification with or as that character is a kintype, but when examined for any proper length of time the feeling for that character evaporates like smoke.
The trope of the beast’s child(to try to sum it up as something snappy) is a large part of who I am in this life- it shaped the neurology of this body deeply, and I was one of the ones in the system directly effected by being in that sort of situation. I am factually a beast’s child. That is my genuine experience in this life. When I see I character in fiction that fulfills this trope it feels deeply, painfully relatable. I can catch myself getting noemata on occasion for these flickers of identity. I can get phantom limbs even. But its still something that when examined or left be for a month or two still dissipates- its not the characters themselves. Its the trope that remains.
If I just relate to or really like a particular character, I don’t get fictionflickers and I dont get ‘hearted feels- this is more than that. For just relating, there is no load-bearing bit of identity, they may be deeply meaningful to me, but it is not a ‘hearted or sympath identify with. There is no longing to be that character manifest, there is no feeling of ‘this is home’, the feelings are not integral to my being, and this is key- the feelings are not impermanent intense bursts.
But in the end though- the most important part is that I choose to label my experiences this way specifically because I feel its worthwhile to acknowledge them in this manner.
This trope slash archetype fills a very unique place in my heart and took a terribly long time to untangle, especially because there was no words for it until very recently.
I embody this very niche character type in a load-bearing identity sort of way, and its for this reason I choose to label it.
It may not be an all day every day all-encompassing feeling like being a dragon is, or the wax and wane but still always clearly there cat identity, but it flickers in and out of the background of my selfhood with consistency all the same.
I don’t often state myself as such, its a complicated thing to explain and its not something I have a burning need to tell people about, but its still a load bearing part of my identity in this life all the same and is worth speaking about.

Tumblr media
I had the idea to start a Selfshipping side blog for awhile since 1 my main Account is kinda hideous and I just wanted a new slate especially now that I understand tumblr more 2 cause I really like the self shipping community! And I used to write fanfic
My pronouns are She/her
That being said I stopped writing fanfic for a reason, it made me KINDA anxious the pressure of doing requests got to me but I think I could do an imagine every once in awhile if nothing else and if you want you can request an imagine or prompt from me I’d just ask you maybe don’t expect much but it would still be appreciated of course!
As for me personally I’m a minor so no, No, NO NSFW. I had a pretty YIKES experience on Instagram once upon a time and I do not want a repeat of that. But you can call me Rosie or Rin (my self insert’s name) also do let me know if you want me to talk about my Ocs! I have quite a lot. Idk if I wanna add another section to this blog (since I’m just starting out) but let me know if you’d be interested!
For my rules/DNI just don’t be Racist or a Pedophile or homophobic or transphobic or request or say anything of that nature on this blog. And I think that’s all I should really have to say on that matter
Also feel free to have an Anon name if you want!
Tumblr media
Little note before I list these things. I have the attention span of a goldfish, a goldfish easily distracted by any pretty anime character that has a good amount of fanfics and by the color pink. Hi! This is my second blog. My first blog is @oikaw-ugh. Had to leave for personal reasons (nah, it was getting uncomfortable and toxic there :>>> )
Tumblr media
Pseudonym
Hikbi
Age
I won't say but rest assured, I am a major not a minor
Which brings me to my next concern, I am a 16+ blog. There will be suggestive themes in this blog so if you find it uncomfortable (or if you are a minor), plis read at your own caution.
Nationality
Filipino
ANOTHER CONCERN. Please, P L E A S E, let me fucking speaking in Tagalog or Bisaya parang awa niyo na 😭
I also speak in English, don't worry. Lol
I write for
Haikyuu, OCs, and Demon Slayer (occasionally)
What else is there to know about me?
Uhhh I guess I'm a Sagi? I love anime? I love Oikawa and Atsumu? Plus, I'm an ISTP? LOL
I've been an anime addict since I was as young as 8? 7?
My cousins love anime and they introduced me to ✨ Ranma 1/2? ✨ and ✨ Cardcaptor Sakura ✨ it all started there
I was a picky watcher back then. I only watched anime that I liked the art style so you can't expect me to have watched Naruto, Dragon Balls, or any of the top tier anime from the past.
Elementary me was a sucker for shojou anime and magical girls anime.
High school me was a sucker for hentai ;-; and a mixture of fantasy anime
College me literally watches anything that pique my interest but it's mostly shounen anime (I grew tired of romantic anime)
UPDATE: I am now in my 4th year in College and I don't like anime now. I only watch an episode or two and I drop the show. But I have plans of finishing the animes I've already started watching (e.g., KNY, AOT, Haikyuu)
Anime also sparked my passion to draw so expect a lot of doodles here that did not pass my standards for my art account @leiaimnida
I started drawing as young as 6? My favorite subjects were mermaids and fairies.
My father graduated with a degree in Engineering, my older cousin took art classes in high school, and I have an uncle who is an expert of copying drawings and they all taught me their tips, honing me to the artist that I am now.
I love music but I don't listen to music that much so I do not have an aesthetic playlist to share or something. I can show you my YouTube history though.
I hate tight spaces. It suffocates me.
I love animals, even those who have the potential to kill me.
I hate school.
Tumblr media
At hmmmmmm I think I won't be transferring my works from oikaw-ugh here. But I will link them to my masterlist nalang.

I decided to do a list of the top manga series I’ve read so far. This is purely for my own entertainment and in no particular order.
Tumblr media
1. Ten Count
This might be cringe but I love BL a lot. Ten Count is a complete series and I finished it practically right away. It’s hot, yes, but I feel like the portrayal of mental illness in this series is handled pretty well. Really it had me in tears near the end, but I’m a sap.
Tumblr media
2. Chobits
Perhaps another controversial choice? I bought the dark horse comics omnibus and finished the second one in one night. Really on the surface it’s kind of stupid. Falling in love with pretty robots? Boring and weird. But CLAMP imo just hits it out of the park with this one. It takes that insecurity that women feel being compared to these robots who have been modeled to be the perfect female companion in every way and addresses that. It could also be seen as an analogy (if that’s the term) for just normal human insecurity when faced with anyone we perceive as better than us. Also I thought it was a good metaphor for accepting the fact people can’t choose who they fall in love with and that’s valid. I infer this because of CLAMP’s other works like Wish and even Cardcaptor Sakura. Anyway Hideki is a sex crazed young adult male but he vows to be true to Chi who he can’t be with in that way. Talk about true love.
Tumblr media
3. Kimetsu no Yaiba
Ah. My favorite series ever. No lie. Demon Slayer is such a fascinating and well woven tale. I think the overall theme of humanity’s spirit being unbreakable in the face of so much pain is just... idk I feel the more I like something the harder it is for me to talk about it. Okay let’s try again. Tanjiro is our main character and probably one of my favorite characters ever. He is so sweet and fights so hard. He does have weaknesses (though not many) which make him slightly more relatable than he could be. I believe the love he has for his family is what keeps Nezuko from completely giving into her demonic urges. Love is another theme here as well. Another thing I like about Demon Slayer is how the backstory of many characters are revealed. Tanjiro has pity on the demons after they die because he knows they were once human. The demon’s backstories are some of my favorite. I won’t go into anymore detail because I just can’t formulate the words but anyway highly recommend. This series is complete in Japan but the official English translations haven’t finished coming out in print yet so I haven’t finished it yet.
Tumblr media
4. Bungo Stray Dogs
I think the thing I like most about this series is the fact that I am being introduced to famous Japanese authors I wouldn’t have heard about otherwise. In the states are world lit classes are predominantly white with some Latin American exceptions. I only read a Japanese novel my senior year of university because my professor had taught in Japan for many years and insisted we read Snow Country. Moving on. There is action in this manga but also tons of hilarious moments. The dynamics between the characters is also priceless. Chuuya and Dazai... don’t get me started. I am also obsessed with the Light Novel spin offs. I’ve read manga volumes 1 through 8 and currently our beloved detectives are fighting against the Guild whose members are based on authors from the English speaking world. Like the Japanese characters these Guild members have powers that the author based off of their respective works. I just find that very clever.
Tumblr media
5. Rin-ne
From the beloved creator for so many iconic manga series comes this little gem. I find it so funny. So funny it’s almost absurd, but it always cheers me up. I believe it’s already complete in Japan with 40 volumes? But I’m too lazy to look it up. I’m also aware that real fans go by chapters not volumes but again I am lazy.
Tumblr media
6. Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun
The title turned me off. Toilet bound? But I was unaware of the common tale of Hanaka-san of the toilet. Now I am. This series is at times sweet, funny and slightly scary. I don’t regret picking it up.

My Review of Sarazanmai
Tumblr media
How did I get into this anime? I heard “things” about this anime. 2019 was a weird time to be alive apparently. You know, before 2020 happened! As much shit as I give 2020, at least they didn’t give us kappas eating people’s asses.
Tumblr media
Yes, I just said “kappas eating people’s asses”.
Be afraid. Be very afraid!
Tumblr media
Kazuki Yasaka is a young boy who must carry around a box wherever he goes and follow specific directions day-by-day. Toi Kuji is a delinquent that breaks into cars and commits other crimes throughout the city. And Enta Jinnai is a childhood friend of Kazuki…He’s there too! These three boys have been chosen by the kappa prince, Keppi to help restore the Kappa Kingdom to its former glory. Kazuki, Toi, and Enta can now transform into kappas by being eaten ass first by Keppi and then shit out. Yes, I said eaten ass first and shit out by a kappa! These boys then must eat the inner-most desires of these kappa-zombies that are causing Keppi trouble. And these inner-most desires are located…in the ass. But there are those from the Otter Empire that cause this trouble for the kappas by turning folks into kappa zombies and causing havoc in the real world.
Tumblr media
I would not expect any less of a mind-rape anime from the great Kunihiko Ikuhara.
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: Even playing a kappa, Junichi Suwabe still finds a way to give me an erection.
Okay, let’s try that again and not make it sound disgusting, Medea.
Right! Let’s talk licensing. FUNimation is the licensors of this fine product. Seriously? Eating ass is fine, but you frown upon the likes of Interspecies Reviewers? Yes, there is a dub to this and believe it or not, I pretended it didn’t exist. Not because it was bad or anything! It’s just that this anime had the likes of Mamoru Miyano, Kouki Uchiyama, Rie Kugimiya, and Mr. Sex-in-a-Voice Junichi Suwabe. Let me state that my infatuation with Suwabe is like John Oliver’s infatuation with Adam Driver.
Tumblr media
That…totally doesn’t help my case! Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.
JAPANESE CAST: *Kazuki is played by Ayumu Murase (known for Minami on Yuri on Ice, Luck on Black Clover, Asuto on Inazuma Eleven: Aries, Madoka on Shounen Maid, and Shinichi on SAO)
*Toi is played by Kouki Uchiyama (known for Yurio on Yuri on Ice, Soul on Soul Eater, Rui on Demon Slayer, Ikuya on Free!, Benedict on Violet Evergarden, Midnight on Fairy Tail, Yuu on Charlotte, and Ichijou on Nisekoi)
*Enta is played by Shun Horie (known for Kazuya on Rent-A-Girlfriend)
ENGLISH CAST: *Kazuki is played by Alejandro Saab (known for Leon on Pokemon Journeys, L’Arc on Shield Hero, Kuga on Food Wars, Yamazaki on Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, and Takezou on Kono Oto Tomare)
*Toi is played by Ricco Fajardo (known for Koutaro on Zombieland Saga, Itona on Assassination Classroom, Karim on Fire Force, Natsuya on Free!, and Kyousuke on Danganronpa 3)
*Enta is played by Justin Briner (known for Deku on My Hero Academia, Yukito on Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, Shou on Fire Force, Luck on Black Clover, and Ryouta on Danganronpa 3)
Tumblr media
SHIPPING: Well…we got our BL kiss by the third episode. That’s quite early for an Ikuhara anime. Ooh boy, Enta loves him some Kazuki. He REALLY loves Kazuki! There’s a lot to be said of a boy that would sniff and fondle items owned by his lover and kiss his unconscious lover. I can understand why Enta would care for Kazuki. I mean after hearing that he’s truly his first friend after a childhood of traveling around and not making many friends, you want to feel for this kid. Key word here is “want”. But this boy goes too far sometimes and his jealousy does get the best of him to a point where I’m just saying, cut ties with the megane brat. But Enta ends up screwing things up again by taking a bullet for Kazuki and throwing all that anger out the window.
Tumblr media
And then we have Reo and Mabu! God damn Reo! We’ve got shark teeth, an arrogant attitude, homosexuality, and the voice of Mamoru Miyano. This is just a Rin Matsuoka of a different color! If Reo and Mabu’s otter dance isn’t a dead giveaway, they totally love each other. To a point where they would sacrifice each other for the one they love.
Tumblr media
POLE-DANCE ALERT: I don’t know why I always find random pole-dancing moments in animes so alluring. I guess I can blame the likes of Grell from Black Butler. But this moment was so random that it came right the fuck out of nowhere. Then again, this entire anime is an enigmatic brain-fart that it was only a matter of time before a kappa prince starts randomly dancing on a pole.
There we go, Medea’s love for random crap will never die!
ENDING: Throughout the series, Kazuki, Toi, and Enta were gathering these dishes in order to get a wish granted by Keppi. And each time they’ve gone up against a big bad otter, Reo and Mabu are usually the ones to bring out the kappa zombies. But everyone has a plan for using the dishes of hope for their own wishes. Enta wants to use it to stay with Kazuki so the two can remain the golden duo. Reo and Mabu want the dishes to be with each other and save one another after an incident nearly killed them. And Kazuki originally wanted to use the dishes for his baby brother’s own sake, but changes to wanting to help Toi (who ends up leaving with his older, criminal of a brother). And shit goes crazier than what I’ve just mentioned. Enta fucks up by stealing the collected dishes and really fucking up his relationship with Kazuki! Toi ends up leaving town with his criminal brother.
Tumblr media
Reo and Mabu, the otter cops shoot Kazuki, but Enta takes the bullet and is hours away from dying. But then we learn that Reo and Mabu were actually kappas who worked under Keppi. It’s just that the otters have been manipulating these two. Mabu is just a hollow body created by the otters because of some accident that happened prior to the events in the anime. The otter gives Mabu a mechanical heart to keep him alive, but in order to stay alive, he cannot say he loves Reo. Unfortunately for these two, Mabu ends up saying he loves Reo and dies right in front of him and vanishing from his memories. Reo is then shot by Toi who comes in at the last minute.
Toi’s back. We all knew it wasn’t going to last. His older brother got shot dead the episode before. So Toi is going to use the dishes to resurrect his brother from the dead. This leaves Kazuki in shambles as he was going to use it on Enta before his body expires in like 10 seconds. In the last minute, Kazuki used the dishes on Enta and he’s going to live. End of story right? No, we still have a demented otter on the loose. And the otters have a dark Keppi that he’s been storing for just this sort of moment. And now it grabs Toi and Toi accepts. He wants to erase his existence from Enta and Kazuki’s lives. Problem is if he does that, Toi erases giving Kazuki the ankle bracelet that’s been a staple in Kazuki and Enta’s relationship when it comes to soccer. But the boys were able to connect, destroy the otters, bring the memories of Mabu and Reo back, turn Keppi into a kappa prince, and save the town from OTTER-destruction.
Tumblr media
Yeah, if you watch this series, you’ll hear a lot of puns involving otters. I mean when you’re not smothered in sexualized otters and kappas.
The ending credits show Toi getting sent to juvie for three years. And it’s quite sad to see his dejected face while the ending song blasts. When the lyrics literally say “stand by me” it gets quite sad. Three years pass and Toi’s out of juvie. He goes to the bridge and jumps off. Keep in mind this is an Ikuhara anime, Toi’s not gonna die. Enta and Kazuki jump in and join Toi and welcome him back to society.
Good lord Ikuhara-san! I didn’t think you could out-gay an anime after the likes of Yuri Kuma Arashi. But good fuck, you found a way! This anime was…INSANITY. Pure insanity! Then again, this is the same director that did Revolutionary Girl Utena, Yuri Kuma Arashi, and Mawaru Penguindrum. Yes, connection and desires are a big take in not only Sarazanmai, but a lot of the other animes Ikuhara does. It’s just that Sarazanmai is the strangest acid-trip of them all. And that’s saying a lot because Yuri Kuma Arashi has sexy bears that say “Shaba-da-doo”. ALSO VOICED BY JUNICHI SUWABE! But people getting turned into kappas by being eaten ass first by another kappa and stealing spirits inner most desires, conveniently stored in their asses is some wonky-ass crack-fest. Recommendation wise, I would say watch some of the other animes Ikuhara has directed to get your feet wet in what you might expect in this kind of anime. After that, pop in a few Bakemonogatari episodes just for good measure. And after you do all that, take some CBD gummies and let-a-rip with Sarazanmai.
If you want to watch Sarazanmai, Crunchyroll and FUNimation have it available for streaming.
Okay, what’s next for my FUNimation list?
Tumblr media
Okay, boobs! What are we talking here? Are these boobs flat as an ironing board or crimes against nature like in Eiken?
Tumblr media
Oh, this can’t end well.

Thank you for tagging me @meitanteisachi 🤗✨
Name: Aina (not real name but call me this anyways!)
Gender: Female
Star sign: Aries
Height: 5’8 (Few years ago one day I came home from uni for a break I was like, dear my youngest brother by about 8 years, I love you very much but please stop growing so much taller than me! You’re not even 15 yet! 😂😂😂😭😭)
Phone wallpaper: the default iPhone wallpaper, the swirly half ball thing (shut up its soothing ok!)
Ever crush on a teacher: Nah. Unless you count Aizawa Shouta maybe?😅 😂
Coolest Halloween costume: I don’t really wear that. I used to wear one a long time ago but don’t remember. The coolest one I’ve had was a scary mask and a scary hat 🤷🏻‍♀️
Last kiss: Uh, does kisses on the cheek count? No? Then no. Unless you count the one time a boy kissed me on the lips when I was like uh... 10? 🤷🏻‍♀️ (No, I don’t have and never had a boyfriend, leave me alone 😩. Yes, I want one but who? How? 🤦🏻‍♀️)
Ever been stood up: Again, no boyfriend so no. Unless you count the few times friends did, but they were unintentional and didn’t hurt my feelings, so no.
Favourite pair of shoes: Anything so long as they’re comfortable. Mostly sneakers and sport shoes. 👟 (most recently I’ve come to like wearing these shoes that are a bit higher cuz I like to feel a bit taller)
Ever been to Vegas: No. The closest I’ve ever been to was in New York on a Uni trip. Want to go one day tho. Maybe. Possibly. If I ever have money lol 😂
Favourite book: Don’t really have any favourites at the mo. (I really should start reading published books and not the fanfics cuz I read that all the time 😂). But my favourites when I was younger was any of the books by Michael Morpurgo that I’ve read, particularly Alone on a Wide Wide Sea which was my first book that I used to carry around with me and read on the way home from school (I learnt the ‘London Bridge is Falling Down’ lyrics from this one, and it’s been stuck in my head ever since 😂), and I’m also particularly fond of Private Peaceful and War Horse, they’re so painfully beautiful 😭. Plus a few ‘Stardust’ series by Linda Chapman. It was my favourite then, but not my favourite now. I’m fond of it yes, but when I bought the first book last May 2020 and decided to try reading it after a looong time, I did so. And after finishing it I think I was like, ‘👀... it’s so damn short and unsatisfying 👀’ 😅😂. Oh! I almost forgot! One of a current favourite of mine is Mind Blind by Lari Don! I saw it at a book shop like 4 years ago and, being curious, went to a random page and read a sentence or two, I became interested and bought it right then and there. It’s really interesting! 🙌🏻 (sorry it’s damn long 😂)
Stupid thing you ever done: There are lots of stupid things I’ve done but I don’t remember most of them from the top of my head🤦🏻‍♀️ like, I need to think. So sorry! 😅 Ah, there was one time but it brings bad memories so I don’t wanna talk about that 🙅🏻‍♀️. Ah! Not sure if it counts but there was another time where a lecturer asked if we (my coursemates and I) wanted to come over and help out one of his friends with the children at a kindergarten (or was it primary school?). And I misunderstood it as a location shoot and thought it was a mandatory thing and brought with me a bag full of camera and lenses and laptop (it was so heavy lol, and he never said to bring them lol). Upon arriving at the destination, my coursemates didn’t have those big bags and I was the only one who brought it. I realised that when my lecturer said ‘help out’, he really did mean to just stay with the kids and help them with their projects involving photographs and the like. Nobody said anything but it was embarrassing to see my big bag amongst all the small ones in the corner of the classroom😳. I didn’t even use the camera at all that day 😂🤦🏻‍♀️.
All time favourite shows: Mostly anime lol 😂 like: Detective Conan, BNHA, Naruto, Munto (anyone seen this? It’s so beautiful! 😭 Why the heck is it so underrated??? 😭😭😭), One Piece, Demon Slayer, CardCaptor Sakura, Tsubasa Chronicles (it’s so beautiful! 😭😭😭), Fruits Basket, etc. For non-anime, though... Off the top of my head, my favourites are: Ghost Whisperer, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye (where the heck are the subtitles??? I wanna watch this but I NEED SUBTITLES!!! GIMME THEM SUBTITLES!!! 😭😭😭), Sherlock, Friends, Descendants of the Sun (K-Drama, have you seen this one? No? Then go watch it right now! It’s so freakin’ beautiful! 😭😭😭). I think that’s it for now? 🤔
Last movie I saw in theatres: I think it was Avengers: Endgame back in May 2019. I don’t really go to cinemas that often unless it’s with friends lol 😅😂
Hoping to get to know:
@shelling4869ford @blenderfullasarcasm @trouvelle @raventhekittycat @nymphadorathetemplar +++ more! I don’t know many people that well but even if you aren’t tagged please feel free to do this or ignore! 😇💁🏻‍♀️✨

Hogwarts House Anime Recommendations pt 2: Gryffindor!
A couple years ago, I made some posts with anime recommendations based on Hogwarts houses. And in case you haven’t noticed, there’s been a lot of new anime that’s come out in that time, and I’ve thought of some other things that I think people may have missed. And I was bored…So if you have ever wanted some anime recommendations with the same general themes and tones, maybe you’ll find something here.
Other house recs:
Gryffindor pt 1
Hufflepuff pt 1
Hufflepuff pt 2
Ravenclaw pt 1
Ravenclaw pt 2
Slytherin pt 1
Slytherin pt 2
Last but not least is GRYFFINDOR! Or as I call it, the house of main characters, where one is brave, adventurous, heroic, reckless, and always fights for what’s right. Because Gryffindor is kinda the...most popular house, I always seem to focus on more popular anime because they fit the traits so well. So that’s why this list may seem a little more mainstream. And I talk about most of these in my 2019 Anime Worth Watching lists, so the descriptions might sound familiar.
Cardcaptor Sakura: A classic magical girl anime in which a 10-year-old girl named Sakura accidentally releases a bunch of magical cards made by a mysterious sorcerer into the world and must collect them all to stop them from wreaking havoc. This anime was made in 1998, but it recently got a continuation called Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card, which picks up right where the series left off and is equally amazing. This is a delightful anime with amazing characters that formed a lot of people’s love for the magical girl genre. There’s mystery, action, adventure, cute outfits, cute romance, and like any other CLAMP work, a lot of LGBT subjects. And when I say subjects, I mean CLAMP makes a lot of canonically gay characters who are in canon relationships, and no one can dispute it.
While this show is very much for a younger audience at the beginning, I watched it as an adult, and I still loved it all the way through. Sakura is a great Gryffindor protagonist who always does what’s right even when it’s hard, and she grows so much over the course of the show. Not to mention the mystery of the Clow Cards will always keep you coming back for more. And I should mention, the best thing about Cardcaptor Sakura is that it’s kind of the start of the larger CLAMP universe. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, the creators of Cardcaptor Sakura (a group called CLAMP) have made a ton of other works over many years...and eventually those all sort of intersect and basically become the Marvel Cinematic Universe of anime and manga. While this is a good, lighter story with some heavier undertones, it can be a good introduction into the darker CLAMP universe. So, if you want a cute, classic magical girl show that doesn’t overdo the campiness, this is a great one that a lot of younger people haven’t watched.
Tumblr media
Demon Slayer- Kimetsu no Yaiba: A shounen action/adventure in which a boy named Tanjiro comes home to find his entire family has been slaughtered by demons...all except for his younger sister Nezuko who has been transformed into one! Now he and Nezuko must embark on a journey to turn her back to normal while fighting demons along the way. The premise may sound basic, but this is a great show with a well-made protagonist who is not super annoying, a kick ass little sister, and some very entertaining side characters. Not to mention the fighting system and the villains are super dope.
It hasn’t even finished airing yet but this has been one of the most popular shows of 2019, and for good reason. While it started out as kind of...bland...it quickly grew into one of the most entertaining and emotional shows of the year with its own jaw droppingly beautiful and unique animation from Ufotable. I think you could make the argument that Tanjiro is a Hufflepuff because he’s so blatantly nice, but I think he’s a true Gryffindor at heart because he does a lot of reckless fighting all for the sake of others. Yes, he is very kind to the point where even when he fights demons, he does so with a sense of compassion and understanding as opposed to the “I must avenge my family” trope. I also think Nezuko is a Gryffindor because she is constantly fighting off her demonic instincts in order to help people. They are a great duo, and the side characters really bring the show together for an awesome, emotional, action-packed adventure that I hope will become a modern classic.
Tumblr media
Made in Abyss: A mysterious adventure story (with a dash of horror) that takes place in a fantasy city where explorers are constantly trying to get to the bottom of a mysterious chasm that lays outside the town. The story follows a girl named Riko and a boy named Reg who are pushed into an adventure trying to find Riko’s mother at the bottom of the abyss and discover the secrets of the creatures inside it. It’s a thrilling escapade with a lot of mind-blowing mysteries. Yes, the characters are drawn in a cute chibi style, but do not be fooled. This show has some heavy subjects and more gore and body horror than you’d expect.
This was one of the best shows of 2017 (if not the best), and I need so much more of it. Riko and Reg are great Gryffindor protagonists who are strong in different ways, brave beyond measure, and loyal to a fault. The creatures and threats of the abyss are incredibly interesting (and also terrifying), and the world building and atmosphere are off the charts. You know this is going to be a great show from the first episode.
Tumblr media
Run with the Wind (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru): An anime in which 10 misfit roommates are all manipulated/coerced/forced into running in a prestigious race even though almost none of them have any running experience. Now, you may think a “sports” anime with so many main characters would be trying to juggle too much. And you’d be wrong. This anime has the perfect balance of amazingly real characters and an intriguing plot that makes you really want to see these boys succeed even though you know it’s a crazy idea.
Okay, I admit that Haiji, the captain of this team who is responsible for forcing all his roommates to participate is 100% a Slytherin, but the main character Kakeru is a Gryffindor all the way. He’s a good example of a different kind of Gryffindor. He’s not the outwardly boisterous or chivalrous type of sports anime protagonist, but he is quietly brave and definitely reckless in his own way. Also, the team in general has a lot of Gryffindor spirit because they are putting in so much work and commitment to something for the sake of their friend, even though they know they have no chance of winning this race. And that takes a lot of bravery. I also think the whole team has a sense of unity and camaraderie that is unique to Gryffindor house. This anime was absolutely amazing, definitely one of the most underrated shows of 2018, with great music, a lot of feelings, really defined characters with great interactions, and an unbelievable story. Plus, it’s made by Production I.G, the king of sports anime, so you know it’s gonna be good!
Tumblr media
Dororo: A dark action reboot of the 1969 anime in which a samurai lord trades the limbs and organs of his son to demons in exchange for prosperity for his land. Unbeknownst to him, his son grows into young warrior named Hyakkimaru, who travels across the land fighting monsters to regain his lost limbs with the help of a lovable scamp named Dororo. This show is how to do a dark gritty reboot right, with more fleshed-out story lines, cool animation, a compelling story of brotherhood and good and evil, AND IT HAS A MAIN CHARACTER WHO CAN’T SEE OR HEAR WHO TOTALLY KICKS ASS!
I cannot sing the praises of this anime highly enough, even though the last episode was a little...different from what we were expecting. Still, I had Dororo as my top anime of 2019 until I watched The Promised Neverland, because every episode was such a wild ride full of action, adventure, and family drama that’s actually interesting. This is a solid Gryffindor anime because the whole thing centers around sacrifice and how what is considered “good” differs from person to person. What starts out as a clear line between right and wrong becomes blurry as Hyakkimaru regains his limbs, and eventually he must avoid becoming a monster himself, with the help of 100% Gryffindor certified Dororo. Dororo is a treasure to this world, and we are not worthy of this wonderful child.
Tumblr media
I also want to include another bonus anime: Vinland Saga! It’s the long-awaited Viking anime about a young boy named Thorfinn who must fight among the enemy to avenge the death of his father. I had a bonus anime with Ravenclaw, and I wanted to include this one because even though it also is not over, I can just tell it’s an absolute Gryffindor anime. I can’t really explain why this is a Gryffindor anime at its core, but it just is. It’s the general vibe of bravery and recklessness that makes it a good show for this house.

Blog 04: Google Form
Ever watched Astro Boy, Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk, Cardcaptor Sakura and Sailor Moon?
If YES, then Congrats! You are a certified Senior Otaku!
If NO, but is familiar with Demon Slayer, Attack On Titan and Tokyo Ghoul, well you are way too far from the originals.
Anime in today’s generation is CLEARLY and MOSTLY not for children under 10 years old unlike the anime showed in the main media before. But what makes anime so popular in this GEN X Era? Why do people love watching Anime?
I have conducted a survey using Google Form for Zamboanguenos aged 17 to 26 years old about their “Top 5 Anime” and their results vary from one another. 30 people who responded on the survey were people I already know from Facebook who are at the same time, die-hard anime fans.I simply chatted and asked them if they would like to participate with the survey. As they agreed, I shared the link to my survey.
They even placed an emphasis that they were challenged to answer the survey because there are way too much Anime series that they want to include. Most respondents were 21 years old who spend their free days fangirling/fanboying over japanese cartoons. The youngest was 17, nicknamed “Micky” while the oldest was 26, “JR”.
On the question; “Why do you like watching Anime?” Most of the respondents answered; “Anime is a stress reliever”, “It takes me away from reality”, “It’s way more better than real life people.”
This made me think that these respondents are just too tired on the demands of reality that Anime became an outlet for them to release and forget their problems. *shrugs*
So! What are the TOP 5 Anime gathered from them?
Starting from the 5th list, we have:
TOP 5: ATTACK ON TITAN / SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN
Tumblr media
This anime series is one of the BEST series and popular in today’s fandom. The story is all about the soldiers or known as “Survery Corps” defending their city (with 3 walls) from the breach of giant humans called “Titans”. These so-called titans feast on every citizen that they see wandering around them. However, plot twist says that these titans are not titans of their own. They are actually, humans that transforms themselves into titans.... Want to know more? READ THE MANGA!
TOP 4: HAIKYUU!
Tumblr media
It is a story about Shoyo Hinata, an aspiring volleyball player.  Though inexperienced, Hinata is athletic and has an impressive vertical jump; he joins his school's volleyball club – only to find he is its sole member, forcing him to spend the next two years trying to convince other students to help him practice. A story of intense game and motivation.
4B. Another anime aligned with TOP 4 is KUROSHITSUJI / BLACK BUTLER
Tumblr media
Personally one of my favorite anime, It is a story about a young earl named Ciel and his deal with the devil named Sebastian. Sebastian does everything and anything that Ciel wants and when the contract ends, he is intended to have Ciel’s soul towards the dark hallways of the abyss. An interesting and very cool story.
TOP 3: Seems like we have a problem.. We have 4 anime series that has the same amount of votes for the TOP 3 anime.....
3A. ONE PUNCH MAN
Tumblr media
A quite interesting story of a superhero named “SAITAMA” who is overly, very, monstrously powerful because he can literally wipe out a whole city in one punch. The dilemma is, he’s trying to look for a worthy opponent that could out-strength his abilities. Will that be you?
3B. FAIRY TAIL
Tumblr media
The story follows the adventures of Natsu Dragneel, a member of the popular wizard guil “Fairy Tail”, as he searches the fictional world of Earth-land for the dragon Igneel. It was most popular when I was in Junior High School. Fairy Tail Merch was everywhere!
3C. FOOD WARS; SHOKUGEKI NO SOMA!
Tumblr media
Soma Yukihira, aspires to become a full-time chef in his father Joichiro's family restaurant "Restaurant Yukihira" and surpass his father's culinary skills, but Joichiro gets a new job that requires him to travel around the world and closes his shop. Joichiro has Soma enroll in Totsuki Saryo Culinary Institute, an elite culinary school where students engage in food competitions called shokugeki. If there’s overpower in sports, there’s also in cooking.
3D. FATE SERIES
Tumblr media
The story revolves around Shirou Emiya, a hardworking and honest teenager who unwillingly enters a to-the-death tournament called the Fifth Holy Grail War, where combatants fight with magic and Heroes throughout history for a chance to have their wishes granted.
TOP 2: BLACK CLOVER
Tumblr media
The series focuses on Asta, a young orphan who was raised from birth after being abandoned at the doorstep of an orphanage in Hage village along with his fellow orphan, Yuno. While everyone is born with the ability to utilize mana in the form of Magical Power, Asta is the only exception. He tries to gain magical power through physical training but turns out that Yuno was born as a prodigy, and has more than enough.
and the most voted anime, my all-time favorite:
TOP 1: NARUTO (all series)
Tumblr media
WHO ISN’T FAMILIAR WITH OUR FAVORITE NINJA?! Presenting our TOP 1; NARUTO SHIPPUDDEN SERIES! Naruto Uzumaki is just a young boy who lost everything at a young age including his family. But despite these hardships and doubts from other people, he never gave up training with the help of his senseis and friends until he could finally reach the title of becoming Konoha’s Hokage. Spoiler: He actually achieved it. Lesson? Do not give up on your dreams.
PS. Watch BORUTO too!
