I. Slaps a pride flag on both of them

The tap water turned the frogs gay and in turn the frogs turned the fish gay.

Them going to a pride parade would be very fun.

II. I think both of them would find surface flowers very interesting, especially since there's not a lot underwater. Zef once tried to keep a rose alive underwater and was very sad when it pretty much got ripped apart.

III. Sera secretly likes his hair being braided or played with, especially in human form—and vice versa! He likes showing affection through actions rather than words, and hair playing is one of it.

Speaking of hair, both of their hair are most likely very messy and tangled. Sera a little less than Zef.

IV. Zef and Clemmy occasionally ramble and rant about the differences between land and sea. Sera prefers to listen rather than join in.

V. They both have no idea what a TV is—Sera has a bit more of a clue but still very confused. He likes watching crime documentaries, Zef tried to watch it with him but got PTSD flashbacks/hj

I'll preface this with saying that if you don't feel like dealing with this topic then feel free to delete the ask.

So I have a question regarding the "kink at Pride" debate. Isn't the most viable solution just having two events; i.e. one venue hosts an "all-ages" type and another separate one where everything is allowed?

I ask this because I recognize the contributions that people with kinks have made and I don't agree with the exclusionist mindset, but I'm one of those people who does have trauma surrounding kink. I hate feeling excluded because of that (after all, I'm queer and I've struggled just as much as the next queer person) and I want people like me to be able to participate just as much as those who helped make history. There are those who are able to reconcile their trauma, but many of us can't.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. People on both sides tend to be very hostile regarding this subject... and that said I genuinely do understand the anger felt on the side of people with kinks since the talking point "kink doesn't belong at Pride at all" is an ahistorical and TERF based mindset. I just wished that the discussion around this topic was less toxic because I don't want to be exclusive to others nor be excluded myself, and unless I'm missing something it seems like the solution that would be beneficial for everyone is having those two spaces that accommodate both camps (if it is a common thing then that's good, but I've been to several areas and every event was only ever the mixed bag for lack of a better term).

hello there, i think my best answer for this question is this

it's totally okay to want to have all ages events and sections and aspects to pride parades and pride events- in my city pride lasts for an entire week and there are events specifically for kids, and elderly queer folks as well. often times during pride month there will be all kinds of celebrations and i think it's a good idea to have multiple kinds of celebrations

however, you really cannot remove the adult aspects from pride parades and other big main event pride festivals- there is free AIDS testing at a lot of pride fests, free condoms and dental dams, sexual education, other sex harm reduction education and resources, sex toy shops, info on safe gay/trans sex, information on safe kink practices, etc. removing those aspects of pride could be downright dangerous for some who rely on this type of harm reduction

i understand that you have trauma and that you want to express boundaries, that is good- if witnessing kink upsets or triggers you, it's okay to want to avoid it, but pride is going to have displays like that because it is in fact a protest. it is not family friendly, it never has been and it never will be- it spawned in response to police brutality that was happening within queer bars. it is designed to shock you and make you think.

pride is an event that has historically been kinky and included a lot of people proudly displaying that they live alternative lifestyles because they are heavily important to a lot of queers. the san fransisco pride parade is lead by the lesbian leather motorcycle club, Dykes on Bikes, and has been since the late 1970's.

i think it's very odd to focus on kink in specific when there are other traumatizing things that come up at pride- people discuss abortion, abuse, being arrested, beaten by the police, being denied rights adoptive rights and healthcare, and so much more. pride will always have something that will make people uncomfortable, because it is a protest in the street to talk about the brutal reality of our lives

again, as i stated, i am fine with children's, all ages, etc. pride themed events being held but main pride parades, festivals, etc. are in fact designed to be protests, meaning provocative and brutally real. they're not just for waving rainbow flags and saying "yay we love being gay!" it's okay to know your own limits and boundaries but i think that if you know that that's upsetting to you, you may just not be suited for an inherently political event, and that's okay. hope that helps, take care, stay safe

Things I love about the dearest husband!

His stunning blue eyes~ they're so pretty and remind me of a summers sky.

2019 is slowly coming to an end so I thought that I'd (like last year) make a summary post of my favorite moments this year ✨

from being concert buddies with Josy @itsgoldenlikedayllight & seeing Maddy and Troye & just generally spending time w her (1), to excitedly gearing up for the release of the lead single of TS7 (2), to moving out and finding a new kind of happiness (3), to just goofing around all day long (4), to attending a friend's prom and pride parade and also to reenacting the Lover photoshoot with Josy & laughing about us being literal memes (5), to Lover release weekend and spending it with Julia @hooldontothememories (6), to celebrating my birthday and getting tickets to see Taylor in Berlin and having my first date (7), to being concert pals with Josy (again) and Julia and seeing the most beautiful library and also!! ice skating yay!! (8) to just finding happiness in so many new, exciting ways (9).

this year has seemed to pass in a whirlwind of emotions, and the me that was frustrated because of her first term paper at uni at the beginning of the year and the me that I am now feel so incredibly different from each other. but they're also still the same. I've learned so much this year, probably the most I ever did, I laughed, I cried, I sang, I danced and most importantly I made the best memories with my favorite people on this earth.

I'm queer and wouldn't call myself kinky..but your post is hella uninformed. Cis/allo/het/dyadic kinky people don't call themselves queer, and if they do it's very few people and bc they feel comfortable under the label, and no one gets to decide that but them, bc they're then clearly stating they don't feel straight. Also, pride is to celebrate not only identities, but practices outside of cisheteronormativity- that's why gnc cishet ppl can wave their flags. (Cont)

Polyamorous and kinky people have been targeted by discrimination both in society and by laws, and pride, in part, is about being able to be open and proud of your identity, which cisheteronormativity devalues and sees as lesser and wrong. Many kinky and polyam people see this as an innate identity akin to their sexuality and not a choice. No one is saying it’s a sexuality itself. So why not let them be proud instead of ashamed? I recommend you follow and listen to kinky queer blogs

Okay… there’s a lot to unpack here. 

The post you’re referring to is not “hella uninformed” because it’s literally based on my local pride. Things may well be different where you are, but where I am, the pride org literally includes different kinks as orientations. We’ve also all seen hot takes like “meet the straight couple queering heterosexuality with handcuffs.” That’s the kind of thing I’m referring to here, not just people engaging in kink. 

I’m also not talking about things like “leather pride” that are flags for sub-communities within the gay community - much like the “bear” flag. Finding your community is awesome. I’m literally just talking about people acting as if engaging in any kind of kink ever makes you non-straight.

Pride is to celebrate LGBTQIAP+ people not “practices.” That includes showing that we don’t conform to society’s standards and often that we refuse to conform but it’s still about the people. 

I am absolutely supportive of polyamorous people and I don’t see that as equivalent to a kink. Many polyam people have said that it’s not a choice or a preference thing for them, it’s how they are and I personally would consider that part of the LGBTQ+ umbrella.  

Enjoying being tied up… is not the same thing as that. 

I agree pride is about being able to be open, that’s why in several other posts on this blog I have absolutely defended the right of people to show up in leather gear or whatever to celebrate their kinkyness while at pride. Queer kink has a long history with pride. I would also never ever go up to someone at pride and tell them they don’t belong because you cannot tell that from looking at someone.

That doesn’t, however, mean that pride is a celebration of kink alone.

“So why not let them be proud instead of ashamed” I literally have not done anything to shame someone or tell them to hide their kinkyness or that they can’t be kinky. They’re more than welcome to be proud of it.

But that doesn’t mean they need to come to an LGBTQ+ pride parade to be proud of it. There are plenty of other ways to explore that rather than co-opting a movement that is not for you. 

So many cis straight allo people already think it’s a cool party that they can come to ogle at the drag queens, whisper about the trans people and try to make a gay best friend, let alone if we start selling it as “do you enjoy having sex in anything other than the missionary position? then you’re queer!” 

If someone is calling themselves queer “because they don’t feel straight” then yay they’re not straight, they’re queer, awesome. If someone is saying “well I’m totally straight and happy that way but let me write for this queer publication because I like when my husband spanks me” that is not okay. 

Also, you’re making some assumptions about me here - I am a kinky person. I engage in kink with my partner. So I get it perfectly well thank you very much.

I'm not mad about the straight pride parade thing. Like, whatever, have fun I guess? It's not that big of a deal. But it is kinda dumb since gay pride is about celebrating how far we've come and how we aren't ashamed of who we are. It was never illegal for straight people to get married, you aren't called heterophobic slurs, there are no countries where you could be killed just for being straight, you can't be fired just for who you love, you never had to fight to be who you are. Like, I'm not saying straight people can't be proud of who they are or embrace their sexuality, but their parade would be more about, "Hey, the gays did it so so should we because they're getting too much attention" rather than, "Yay, I can be who I am and love who I love! We've come so far. People fought and even died for me to be here and I'm proud!"

8: Most Likely to sleep through an earthquake

I would have to say that Alessandra is way too...prepared and well-trained to sleep through a disaster. And I think Callista and Feriha sleep lightly...so I would have to say Thea (short for Amalthea). She spends most of her days...well...she's Athenian, and claims to be an amazing athlete...but she spends most of her time wining and dining with the great minds of Athens, and most of the time, she sleeps till noon after a good night of partying. I would say she's the culprit that will sleep through a damn earthquake.

9: Most Likely to procrastinate

Callista and Thea are both bad at this, but its for different reasons. Callista will put off things that take an emotional toll on her, but eventually she has to force herself suck it up and do it. Thea...does it out of laziness and irresponsibility. Thea will never be one that is eager to to do something she doesn't want to do, and while yes, its horrible and sounds infuriating...it does turn out to be a trait that turns positive. And honestly, she will come around to it and do the thing, she just does it on her time.

10: Most Likely to end up on Broadway

Callista. She's touched by Apollo, blessed by both him and Aphrodite. Her normal tone is melodic as is and can be very soothing--Brasidas could listen to her talk for hours. Its another reason she's so popular among the hetaerae. But she can sing. Very much a siren of Apollo and Aphrodite's making, Poseidon only wishes he had her in his realm.

11: Most Likely to star in their own reality tv show

All of them. They would all be on the same reality show. Could you imagine? Since they're all related? Well...outside of maybe Thea, but she'd be there for amusement because I could just imagine her and Alessandra together...Ezio would be grateful that he's not the one being called in idiot for once. But if I had to choose one or the other, just having Alessandra and Feriha dealing with Ezio and Yusuf on a reality show would just be...that's too good to pass up, honestly. The hilarity of it...yeah, Alessandra and Feriha for sure. It would be like...Keeping Up with the Assassins or something like that.

12: Most Likely to lead a protest

Alessandra. Callista is more of a..."do it behind the scenes with a knife by stabbing the leader of your enemies in their sleep" kind of person. Alessandra is much more straightforward, even though yes, she's an assassin and works in the dark to serve the light, yes. But she would be the one leading rallies for women's rights during the suffrage, protesting the wars, absolutely would be in the Pride parades and still fight for women's rights along with the blm movement. Alessandra is...I always believed that she was ahead of her time on certain things because she's a lot like me on that front and I'm very much a feminist and believe in equal rights for all.

13: Most Likely to marry a millionaire

I don't know, to be honest. Alessandra only considered marriage when it was arranged for her because of her duty to the Brotherhood. Callista never considered marriage, it was never on the plate for her until Brasidas came into her life, and while she would see the comfort and power that she could have by doing so, she wouldn't be willing to compromise the freedom she created for herself for it. Feriha won't marry just anyone, she's very stubborn and has standards, regardless of how much money someone has. You really have to work to get her favor and she'll know if you're genuine or not. I would have to say Thea, I guess. Its not that she's interested in getting married, its more that she sees the power in the money, and she'll take the comfort. She hates having to do bounties and such just to make money. She would much rather relax. And definitely enjoy the company of beautiful women while her husband did whatever it was that he did.

14: Most Likely to win the lottery and lose the ticket

Thea and Alessandra. Thea would honestly...listen, when she's in her "easy-going" mood, she has no sense of responsibility. And worse, she would laugh it off. This woman has no care in the world over the things that she can't control. She's so carefree and will claim there are better things to her life than money. Alessandra...she wouldn't be the one to lose it, but it would ultimately be her fault. I can totally see her having her brother hold on to it for her, but Yusuf being Yusuf, he would lose it or let it get stolen, and sheepishly shrug when Alessandra asks for it back. She would be so pissed, and its bad because its not only at her brother, but at herself for thinking that giving Yusuf the damn thing was a good idea in the first place.

Why I'm peeved about current LGBTQ+ Rep. Written by a little gay!

Okay, first off, not happy with the LGBT rep in current media [2021] As I have consumed media since I was a kid and I know better.

So when I give crticisms about it, I'm not saying "Ew stinky lgbt-" Like I'm some strawmen for your argument you wish.

It means I want better.

Since LGBT stuff in media had to be SUBTLE it was conveyed through queer-coding, aka. SUBTEXT.

But now movie writers have caught on and use that as an excuse to bring in lgbt audiences and keep it hetero enough for world wide audiences as in. [aka queer-BAITING]

Having their cake and eat it too but guess what? I expect better. I expect MORE.

I want Subtext into TEXT. SInce now we can demand they make it more obvious and stop being vaugue.

Even worse when older movies have better representation than current movies, for example.

This movie was ahead of it's time with real world problems [such as margaret thatcher removing the mines] Along with a boy wanting to do ballet [Breaking gender norms than ballet isn't a girl sport, it's a sport end off] Having a young child being a carer, and a family that was not so supportive then being supportive in their own way ANNDD.

Which great film we need more like this but BETTER. I mean take away the whole gay thing and make it a hetero chick flick. I'd rather have NO queer content, than watered down scraps or vaugue shit like this when they can make it much more obvious.

Or worse yet, when someone says they won't do a movie because they'd change a canon gay character into a heterosexual one I agree with them walking away.

esp since I've been told since ever that kirk/spock in star trek were a canon couple but because they were already pushing it with politics/poc cast/etc they couldn't do anything else.

And now we have william shatner saying kirk is straight and having fans agreeing with him.

Since fans agree with jensen ackles saying Dean is bi for Cas since he's the actor he should know better right?

So since William shatner is the actor and played kirk longer he defiently knows everything about this character.

So watered down gay characters will then be argued that "We're changing them, when that's not canon because of sick fetishing fantasies."

Lgbt is no where NEAR it's goal of being equel, just having a character being vaugue bi isn't enough,

To even HAVE queer content needs to be written well, and need a quantity for every hetero chick flick/romance stories since 1891.

So for every love story we need a quantity to MATCH that to even begin to being equel. And since I can only think of a few good number of lgbt shows on one hand thats no where NEAR enough.

So i am so SORRY that I want more better content than fucking Queer force, and this table scraps when I know they can do better.

But no assume that just because I don't like how something is conveyed that I'm a negative homophobe who wants to shut down lgbt content when I just want better shit because I've SEEN better.
