Tumblr media
Warnings!: minor obsessive behavior, protective reader, vulgar language, fluff and suggestive content towards the end
You never thought you would give your entire life to protect someone. Give everything you have and do whatever possible just to make sure they're happy and safe.
But everything changed when you met Neteyam.
***
You shook slightly under the gaze of the four humans in their large mech suits. They stood over you, each holding a large gun they pointed at you. Your back was pressed against the forest floor, frozen as they yelled odd things you didn't understand. None of them spoke your native tongue.
You let out a meek hiss as one of the soldiers took a step towards you.
They all let out a noise you recognized as laughter at your attempt of intimidation.
"What should we do with her?" one solider said, though you didn't understand.
"I say we just kill her," another answered.
You notice something blue flash between the branches above you as the soldiers talk among themselves.
"No, we need to take her back. She might have some information of Jake Sully."
"I don't know anything, stay away from me!" you yelled in your native tongue, feeling your tail swish behind you.
"Shut up, na'vi!" one yelled, his mech's metallic hand grabbing your thick braids. You let out a wail of pain as he picked you up by your hair, lifting you high above the ground. You let out a sound that was a mix of a wail and a hiss as he stared at you through the glass veil of the machine.
He laughed once more but the sound was cut short by a large Na'vi arrow hitting his chest.
"There's another one!" the soldiers yelled as their dead comrade dropped you.
"Where is it?" one soldier yelled, only to be shot down as well.
You scrambled across the forest floor as the giant machines fell left and right, the humans within them killed effortlessly by some your mysterious hero in the trees.
"Come with me," a voice said in Na'vi. You looked up to see none other than the son of famed Toruk Mokto. He stood high on a root, his hand outstretched for you to grab, his bow slung over his shoulder. Your breathing became heavy as your eyes scanned him, still frozen in fear and shock.
"I will not hurt you," he said, holding his hand a bit farther. "Please just come with me."
The sound of gunshots behind you was what finally broke you from your trance. You ducked down and took the chief's son's hand, allowing him to pull you through the forest. The two of you ducked and swiftly avoided the large vegetation of Pandora before the boy pulled you under a large bush.
"Stay down," he said, holding you close against him as you stayed close to the ground. You felt your heart beat in your chest, adrenaline running through your veins. "Okay, we're all clear."
You watched as the boy looked up and over the bush before finally standing to his full height. You stared up at him, sure you had stars in your eyes.
"What's your name?" you asked quietly, still staring at the boy before you.
"I'm Neteyam," he answered, giving you a comforting smile. "What is your name?" He offered you his hand once more.
"Y/n."
***
Ever since that day, you had swore to yourself and Neteyam that you would do everything in your power to protect him. You trained everyday and even followed the Sully family to keep him safe.
And you did. Anytime Neteyam was in any sort of danger, you were there to defend him. And anytime he needed a shoulder to cry on, there you were.
Which now led to this moment.
***
"Who the hell did this to you?" you seethed, rushing into the Sully's small hut to see a bruised and battered Neteyam.
"I'm okay, sevin," Neteyam stated, giving you a small smile. "You should see the other guys."
"Neteyam," you frowned, kneeling in front of the boy. You swiped your thumb across his bleeding lip. "What happened?"
"Just an incident with some people," Neteyam said, smiling at your touch. He grabbed your hand and kissed it gently. "It doesn't matter, okay? Just leave it alone, sevin."
You frowned once more, your tail swishing anxiously behind you. "Alright," you sighed, pressing your forehead against his own. You let out a small sigh, pressing yourself closer to the boy you loved. "The others looked worse?" you asked, feeling Neteyam's ragged breath against your lips. He nodded slightly and you could practically feel his chest swell with pride. You smiled slightly before pressing your lips against his. "My mighty warrior," you whispered, pulling away.
"The mightiest warrior," Neteyam echoed, his hands grabbing at your hips. "Kiss me again, sevin." You chuckled before obliging his request. Neteyam let out a low hum as you pressed your lips against his. Your lips molded against one another, the faint taste of blood lingering in your mouth.
You felt your cheeks flush as Neteyam's arms wrapped themselves around your waist, pulling you into his lap.
"May I please know who it was at least darling?" you gasped, pulling away slightly, both of your chests heaving. Neteyam frowned at you, nudging his head against your chin. "Please, my mighty warrior," you whispered, running your hands against his chest.
"An'oung," Neteyam said quietly, pressing kisses against your throat and chest. "Now please keep going my Y/n."
"An'oung," you said to yourself. "Anything for you, ma Neteyam."

like babies (part one)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: ao'nung x omaticayan!reader
summary: it had been two weeks since your encounter with the sullys. turns out, jake was best friends with your mother. (small world!) the family took you in, but it wasn't for long you had to relocate. welcome to awa'altu.
word count: 1.9k
warnings: playful banter, mentions of blood, first half is a script reciting just with a 2nd person insert (you/your pronouns)
Tumblr media
you didn't interject when jake came and told you, kiri, neteyam, and lo'ak you were moving. most of the clan didn't know you enough, anyways, since they had no idea where you came from. so when he told you to get your ikran out of nowhere, you weren't complaining.
as you flew in for landing, jake and neytiri began to yip to get the meticayans attention. the reef people lived in what looked like netted structures, along beaches with baskets and small decretory things everywhere. tree branches hung over each home, tents draped over the netting as you flew closer before landing on the sand. you didn't move for a moment as everyone got off their ikrans and walked towards the meticayan.
"on me." jake said under his breath, walking quicker to keep up with tuk, who was eagerly running up to them.
"tuk," neytiri called, pulling her hand.
the meticayan quickly surrounded you, looking at the strange blue family that stood before them. you looked around at the clan. they had larger tails than us, wider arms built like fins, probably to assist with swimming in the water. you noticed them begin to move out the way as two boys came up.
one of the boys had short curly hair, looking at the new visitors with a greeting smile, which you quickly learned was mockery as the other boy, with braids pulled into a bun, spoke.
"is that supposed to be a tail?" he said, whispering to the other boy.
another girl came through, people moving out of the way for her as well. "enough, roxto. ao'nung." the girl said, glaring at the both of them as she said their names. lo'ak, who had been staring at the girl the whole time, finally spoke.
"hi." he said, shyly. she giggled and looked away, and neteyam looked at you with a knowing glance. you looked away to keep yourself from laughing.
"i see you, tonowari." jake spoke, looking at him. tonowari's mate paced back and forth in front of the visitors, glaring at every single one of us. "i see you, ronal." he said, looking at her as she stiffened. neytiri followed. "i see you, ronal."
you had eventually stopped listening to their conversation, as you looked back to the three kids who had gotten your attention. ao'nung was looking at you, before he smirked and turned to roxto once more. "look at their arms, they're so thin." roxto laughed with him, earning a smack to the head by the girl.
"tsireya, we're just having fun." ao'nung said.
"it's rude. they need uturu, why are you mocking them?"
suddenly, all conversation was silenced as ronal walked up to you. she pulled at neteyams arm. "their arms are thin." she begun to flick at neytiri's tail, earning a hiss from her. "their tails are weak. you will be slow in the water."
she turned to kiri, walking up to her and pulling her hand to her. "they are not even true na'vi."
"yes we are," kiri interjected.
ronal looked at lo'ak and you, grabbing both your hands and holding them up like a trophy. "they have demon blood!"
this announcement made all of the meticayan gasp, some hiss, and majority backing away. "hey. hey! see?" jake shouted and held his hands up. "i was born of the sky people, and now i am na'vi. you can adapt, we can adapt."
you said nothing as ronal put you and lo'ak's hands down. for a moment, her and tonowari exchanged glances, as if they spoke with their eyes. ronal put her head down, and looked away.
tonowari then looked and spoke. "toruk makto and his family will stay with us. consider them our brothers and sisters. they do not know the sea. they will be like babies taking their first breath. teach them our ways, so they do not suffer the shame.." he turned to glare at jake. "of being useless." he looked at ao'nung and tsireya. "my son ao'nung and daughter tsireya will guide your children."
this earned a groan from ao'nung, but tsireya quickly ran to lo'ak. "come and see our village!"
as you walked along the netted, hammock-like floors, you saw people come closer to you to watch you walk along. a woman, with an animal you've never seen before, swam up under where you walked and nudged it. you turned to look, and laughed when you saw the creature. you leaned in to rub its head as it squealed. neteyam pulled your tail. "yo, keep up!'" you rolled your eyes as you stood up once again and began to walk with them.
ao'nung and roxto followed quickly behind as tsireya lead ahead to ensure you went the right way.
after you got settled in, you skipped your first day of training. you were tired, and didn't feel like being babied. you walked along the warm beach before you sat down, laying on your back in the sun. after a few minutes, you drifted off.
"hey.. wake up!" you heard a faint voice in the back of your head as your eyes fluttered open. it was jake. "why aren't you training with the other kids?"
"i don't know, i guess i'm just tired."
jake looked at you, a bit of sympathy in his eyes, before he sat down beside you. "listen, kid. let me tell you something about your mother. jas was a kind soul. she was not with what quartitch was doing. she was determined, and she never let anything stand in her way."
he paused before he looked out to the sea. "now, i know something's up with you. i won't push you for it. but at least try and learn something from them? this is your home now. lo'ak isn't making this much easier for us, neteyam isn't watching him, kiri is in her own world, and tuk is only 8. can you just try?"
you looked at him, before you sighed. "fine." you sat up, balanced yourself and walked with him to the group on the other side of the beach. you arrived just in time, as you saw lo'ak and neteyam whooping in unison as they hopped off the side of their home and dove into the water. hesitantly, you watched before diving in with them.
the water was warm, coral surrounding you as you looked around at the fish, that swam with you. you felt your tail being pulled and turned to look at lo'ak and swim after him. you smacked the back of his head before beginning to follow tsireya.
after a moment, you felt this burning sensation in your lungs. you looked over to see lo'ak and neteyam swimming up already, and you followed suit to catch your breath. under the water, you saw ao'nung look around before he swam up.
"you're too fast, wait for us!" tuk said, when she swam up.
ao'nung looked at her and grinned at the rest of us in mockery. "you guys are not good divers. maybe good at swinging through trees," he continued before getting a light tap by tsireya on his shoulder. you laughed at the interaction.
"what are you laughing at, forest girl?"
"you, fish-lips." that earned an eyebrow raise from ao'nung.
"since you're so cocky, let's see how well you can swim." he dove under water, before pulling your leg, dragging you under with him.
quickly, before your head was submerged, you took a deep breath and swam after him. he was fast, obviously. you weren't going to be able to keep up with him. after a moment, you decided to swim to the side and hide in some coral. ao'nung looked around, and swam up.
"where'd she go?" he shouted over to tsireya.
"i'm not sure."
"maybe she drowned," roxto chimed in and got quickly nudged by neteyam. you silently emerged from behind ao'nung, and tackled him. there was a small crowd of "ooo.." before ao'nung realized what happened.
"what the hell?" he said, before being submerged in water. you quickly swam away, but he yipped. suddenly, a long-necked large fish came from behind ao'nung, and he repositioned himself to quickly catch up to you, pulling you onto the fish. you screamed as you came to shore.
"the fuck is that?" you said, staring at the creature.
ao'nung turned to everyone when he spoke. you glared at him, and watched as he begun to click his tongue more to make another noise. suddenly, four more of the same ocean creatures that pulled you arrived.
"these are ilu. if you want to live here, you must ride." he gestured to the creatures that swam up to the ocean. you and lo'ak exchanged a worried glance, you two were not the best when it came to flying ikran, or riding direhorses. swimming an ilu would probably be way worse.
"you first, forest girl." he gestured his hand out to you to help you onto the ilu. you walked over, and swatted his hand away before placing yourself on the ilu.
"i got it."
"no you don't.. you look like you're curled into a ball. straighten your back, use only one hand to hold the saddle." he placed his hand on your back, and you jumped, turning to hiss at him as he put his palms up, moving away. "fine, do it yourself."
you did as he said, holding the saddle with one hand and squaring yourself out. carefully, you pulled your braid from the back of your head and connected it with the ilu. your pupils dialated.
"feel her. feel her breath, feel her soul." ao'nung said to you, as you looked over to see tsireya giving lo'ak the same speech.
you breathed with her, before leaning forward and thinking for the ilu to go forward. and she was fast. after about a minute and a half of gripping on with two hands, afraid of getting yanked off, she made a sharp turn and you fell off, flying back against some coral. you saw lo'ak ahead of you, flying off as well. you heard a laugh underwater as you turned to see ao'nung swimming up. you followed after, and heard him laughing at you two.
"you hardly lasted a minute, you really are like babies." ao'nung said, looking between the two of you.
"enough," tsireya said. "why don't we take a break?"
"best idea today. my stomach hurts too much from laughing at these two." lo'ak glared at him as he got out of the water. you decided not to follow them to where they were going, and just sat down. you saw kiri far out with her ilu earlier, but she was gone now, you were glad she was doing okay.
staring out into the open water, you didn't even notice ao'nung sit beside you.
"forest people are weird. you and kiri both came out to the beach to stare at nothing but calm water."
you looked over at him and noticed the bruising and bloody nose he had, but decided not to say anything. you had faintly heard jake yelling at lo'ak, so you just assumed the two got into it. you looked back at the beach.
"it's warm on the beach."
"was the forest cold or something?"
"no, but it was wet. so it never stayed warm like this."
"the ocean's wet too, you know."
"shut up, smart-ass."
"if you say so." he turned to look at the ocean with you, before he got up. "you didn't do.. terrible. today."
"what?"
"nothing. later tree climber!" he walked away, shouting that so you could hear it.
you scoffed, and continued to look out onto the water. you smiled a little, but didn't notice it.
you didn't do terrible?

Dementia wip
A boy woke up with the name "Spider" on his lips.
The name was heavy in his mouth, like he was chewing a cotton ball. It tasted of the wilderness and freedom and rejection. It ached his jaw, and prickled his tongue.
It felt familiar and loved. He is going to forget it.
______
Time has passed, and the room the boy is in is shaking. It rocks back and forth, almost throwing him across the space if it weren't for the blue hand pressing him to someone's side. His face is tucked into the others' thigh, and he inhales the smell of gunpowder and coffee.
They'd left a while ago. Something about Jake Sully and radio signals. He's sure the other told him his name, but he couldn't remember. Sometimes he remembers that he forgets, but most days are spent in blissful ignorance. Today was not one of those days.
He looked around anxiously. There are people around him, some wielding weapons. There were blue lights, displaying symbols he didn't recognize. They were talking, but he didn't understand what they were saying. Strange things about Tulkun and tribes. He glanced upwards at the one holding him, who gave him a brief smile, then continued speaking to someone. The boy whined, tugging on his clothing. The creature sighed, bent down, and pressed a kiss to his head. He motioned for someone else to come.
Another one of the blue figures approached him. "Hey, kid." He said, gently placing his hands under his armpits and picking him up. The kid placed small, bandaged hands on his forearms, looking at him confusedly. "C'mon Miles, let's go outside." He said, swinging the boy around like a child. The child giggled at the sensation. He feels like flying was important to him, before he started to forget. Had he forgotten what it was like to fly, or had he never flown before?
These thoughts made him still. He stayed silent as they left the small room they'd been in, and was greeted by the cold air. They were on some kind of platform that was moving forwards through the water. He could only see blue all round them, stretching beyond his vision. The air whipped against his skin, blowing his hospital gown. It was very cold, he noted. His hair blew in the breeze.
"Pretty, isn't it?" The other asked. He was leaning against the railing, looking out over the water. The boy had looked at him, frowning. Who was this?
"I'm Lyle, by the way." The other said, turning his face towards the other. "Colonel said you've been forgetting more these days," he explained, "Thought some fresh air might do you some good. I know the whole native thing last month is still scary to you, but you'll be staying on the boat while we deal with 'em this time." Lyle's explanation was simple, but weird. What….what native…?
A spear to his neck. Blood splattered across his face. Fear, fear, f e a r.
He nodded. Didn't quite remember, because of course he doesn't, but he remembers forgetting, and that's gotta count for something, right?
"These guys are different though. They're called the Metkayina, or so I've heard. We picked up some radio signals from around here awhile back. They only found real traces of Sully a week back, so we're only just now heading out to kill him." He grinned at the boy, but changed his expression when he saw the child's face. He looked uncomfortable at the mention of killing Sully, even though Lyle knew he probably didn't remember who he was.
".....yeah." He huffed, "Tell you what, kid, because you're my favourite, I'll bring you back something from the raid." He offered, "what about one of those necklaces the Na'vi are always wearing? You want one of those? Or a–, whaddaya call em, a songchord?"
Songchord.
It was something important, wasn't it? Something dear and precious, a wondrous little thing. He remembers a sad little melody. Hurt, loneliness, want want want.
He shook his head. It hurt. "No? Then what about some clothes? You think you could rock a shawl?" He joked, and the boy laughed. He nodded happily, excited at the idea of a promised gift. The other patted his head, fingers brushing through dirty blonde hair. They stayed like that for a bit, just standing together in silence.
"Yknow, I'm glad you're doing better these days." Lyle said suddenly, absentmindedly trailing his thumb at the edge of Miles' mask. "Last time I spoke to you, it was like talking to a wall." He joked, but Miles frowned. He didn't remember talking to Lyle, ever.
But….
Maybe he did? He forgot a lot. He could barely remember yesterday. It was like the food they gave him. There's only enough taste to remind you that there's barely any taste, and that you've definitely had better. But 'better' is subjective, and even if it were true, you don't really know what would be better than the current taste. So you sit and think about a better taste, but nothing comes to mind, so you stop thinking and eat your food.
Miles looks out at the waves. "I'm glad too." He said softly. His voice was raspy, and he grimaced. He didn't always sound like that, did he? Was his voice damaged?
Lyle looked like he didn't care about his raspiness. In fact, he looked happy to hear his voice. His grin stretched across his face, revealing pointy fangs and pearly whites. "Yeah," he said, "yeah, we're all glad."
____
He had a shawl now. It almost dwarves his frame, hanging around him like a blanket. It felt warm and loved around him, like whoever made it had somehow woven endearment into the threads. With boney fingers, he clutched the edges and pulled them closer to his face. It smelled strange, like the ocean and roots and herbs and everything he forgot. It smelled like healing.
It had these--um--tassels? All around it. It was also a vibrant blue colour, like the waters that surrounded the ship. With a raspy and almost strained giggle, he twirled around in his newest article of clothing. "I'm taking you like it, then?" The blue one asked, and Miles nodded. He did like it, he liked it very much.
"I'm glad, buddy." There was a large hand in his hair, like it belonged there. It didn't. It didn't. It didn't.
Suddenly, as if overcome with a violent possession, Spider threw the hand away from him. "Don't touch me!" He screamed, "Who are you? Get away!" And he thrashed at the other as he tried to put his hands on Spider. The boy was confused. Where was he? Where are his clothes? What happened to his hair?
Where are the others? Where are they?
He didn't recognize the shawl that was on him, beautiful yet unfamiliar. The weaving, the texture–, he never felt anything like it. It didn't come from the Omaticaya; and certainly not the scientists. So who–? Where–?
"Kid, calm down!" Someone spoke sharply, but he ignored them. Where did this come from? He doesn't remember!
Looking around desperately, his environment was entirely unfamiliar. Cold metal surrounds him, traps him like a prisoner.
GETAWAYGETAWAYGETAWAYGETAWAY
The words are like a mantra in his head, wild and ferocious. Something he could only describe as primal. He was not safe, he was trapped; caged like an animal. He needs to run–, needs to get out–, find the others–, escape!
No matter where he ran, he couldn't escape the humans. They were everywhere, absolutely everywhere.
No escape–, he's alone–, helplesshelpless–

How would big bro ao'nung react if Spider was turned into a child? How did Spifer even get into that situation? Nobody knows 🤷‍♀️ not even himself as he has pretty much forgotten everything from the last 5 years. But he still remembers his family and friends though-
(I wrote like most of this and then I registered what you meant by that last part, and couldn't bring myself to rewrite it, so I hope you don't mind the mild deviation)
spider had been missing for days, 3 days, 3 days and 3 nights without his voice or his presence. it was odd, so odd, spider never strayed far, not anymore, he was always with his family now. when he first got taken in by the family he had a tendency to wander off as he was never wanted around by his previous 'parents', but now, he never left his families side for long. he was always sticking close to ao'nung and rotxo or relaxing with his sister in their hut, out on the water with his dad or following his mother around the village, he even spent a fair amount of time with the elders of the village. but now he was gone and no one could find him.
they had people out on tsurak and ilu checking outside the reef, maybe the boy had gotten swept off by a wave and was stuck on one of the rocky islets. others on ilu's check every potential spot within the reef a boy could feasibly get stuck on, unable to make his way home.
free divers were sent to search the ocean floor, and the whole family prayed they would not find him.
they also had people searching the sparse forests of the island, ao'nung included; he had spent 2 days in the water, the fear of finding his brother lifeless body tieing his intestines in knots, so he turned to dry land in hope of a better outcome.
he had been crawling through the brush for hours now, calling for his baby brother for him to come home, but he got no answer. He felt hopeless, he was about to turn back, hoping that he would return to the village and find his brother safe and sound in there hut, when he heard sniffling. it was coming from behind a thick bush hiding the alcove of a tree, and when ao'nung pulled back the leaves, he found a small human child, no more then 5 or 6, with locked golden hair, terrified brown eyes, and faded blue stripes. spider.
he was sure it was his baby brother, as sure as anyone could ever be. the look in the little boys eyes hurt his heart, he remembered it, all too well, that's how spider looked at him when they first met, the fear and distance in them striking a cold chill in the older boys spine. what he wasn't so sure of is why he was tiny or why he was here in the woods. but all of that came second when the little one tucked into himself, utterly terrified of ao'nung, cause the very sight of his trembling body made ao'nung want to cry himself.
he sat down, making himself as small as he could, before putting a gentle hand out, not touching the boy, but rather showing he was harmless,
"hey little dude," he spoke low and quiet, "you know na'vi right?" he remembered spider saying he had been fluent since he was little, having learned from the scientists and his siblings.
the boy looked up at him, nodding a little, before turning back into himself.
"do you know who I am?"
"no, 'm sorry," his voice was nothing more than a little squeak, and it broke ao'nung's heart, he never wanted to see spider this tiny ever again, he had promised his brother he would protect him.
"that's ok, its alright, I know who you are. you're spider right?"
the boy look up in shock, showing his puffy tear-stained cheeks and red eyes, "how... how do you know who I am?"
ao'nung thought about what he would say, what would get the kid to relax enough for ao'nung to take him home.
"I'm a friend of your family, the Sully's, I'm helping look for you," he smiled at the boy, trying to win over his trust.
"you know where they are?" he sounded hopeful, his eyes brightening a bit.
"yeah kid, I can take you back to my village, they're staying there, would you like that?" he offered up his arms, the kid rushing into them as if they would disappear. he was freezing to the touch and up close he looked even worse off then he did in a trembling ball. he had been out here a while, clearly dehydrated, and if the rumbling of his belly was anything to go off of, starving too.
"I've got you little one, don't worry. its a bit of a walk back to the village, but we'll be there before the suns up." he hoisted little spider up onto his hip so he could stand and then pulled him practically all the way up his chest so he could rest his little head on the older boys shoulder. spider clung to him, little hands grappling to hold on, shivering as his skin was exposed to the night air. ao'nung kicked himself for being in such a hurry to go out and look he hadn't thought to bring water or a shawl. "how'd you get out here little one?"
"I don't know... just woke up and I couldn't figure out where I was... these aren't the forests of the Omatikaya are they?" spider looked up at him wearily.
"no, these are the forest of Awa'atlu, the Metkayina."
"I don't know how I got here, I... I..." he burrowed his head into ao'nungs neck. "they're going to be so mad at me, you said their here right, the sully's? they came all the way here for me they're gonna be mad," spider started to thrash out of ao'nungs arms, to much avail as he was so small.
ao'nung's heart twinged again, his baby brother was terrified of the Sully's once again, and now he had a pretty idea of what his childhood looked like.
"no one will be mad, I promise you, we all just wanted you to come home. they're going to be so happy your home... my people too, you've been to our village before, your very important to us, you just don't remember little one." he wanted to tell the boy that his family, his real family, was looking for him, waiting for him to come home, and that he would be going back to a village that will be overjoyed with his safe, if not odd, return.
"promise?"
"on my life little one,"
"ok... I trust you." he plopped his head down on ao'nung's shoulder, letting ao'nung shift to hold him so his large hands and arms would cover more of his skin from the early morning air.
he was half asleep by the time he got back to the village, head lolling as he lost his battle with sleep. ao'nung made a b-line for his family's pod, finding his mother deep in prayer.
"mother, I found him, but somethings... wrong," he spoke gently as not startle her, but the mention of her missing child sent her head flying up from her bowed prayer position.
"where is he-" she cut herself off when she saw the sleeping child in her eldest's arms, getting up to investigate. she looked at the child, her face melting in both pain and pleasure as she recognized her baby's face.
"I found him curled up deep in the forest, heard him crying. he doesn't know who I am... he couldn't recognize the forest, and he must have heard us but had been to scared to come out." he cradled the baby closer as he remembered the look on his little face.
"I will get your father to call and end to the search, stay here with him, offer him water, slowly, I don't want him getting sick," she spoke quick and sure. ao'nung was very grateful that she knew not to separate them; he was protective on a good day, and this was not a good day,
he sat on his pallet, pulling the large kelp blanket around spider as his shivering finally quelled. he reached for the water cup his mother had left out, no doubt waiting for the boy to come home.
"hey spi' want some water," he gently roused the boy, earning a little nod has he started to wake back up.
he helped him sit up, holding the cup while spider lifted his mask, helping him take a long drink. spider drained the cup and then another before ao'nung insisted he take a break. spider was keen on not getting sick though so he wasn't hard to convince.
by the time he had settled again, clearly exhausted from days alone in the woods, the family was back, mother clinging to father, tsireya dragging lo'ak, tuk close behind them with kiri tailing her, jake and neytiri were the last to gather into the pod.
spider hid in ao'nung's chest, not recognizing his own family, either of them.
"it's ok, I promise its ok, we just have to talk... your mostly gonna listen, maybe answer some questions, ok?" he kept spider close as he spoke, not forcing him to turn around or even look at the people gathered in the pod.
spider didn't react, but ao'nung felt his shoulder's ease a little.
they talked for a long while, ao'nung had to retell the story of how he found spider at least 3 times. then the questions began, how had he de-aged? why had he de-aged? was it permanent? how long would it last? how much should they tell spider?
that didn't even include all the questions they asked spider, they were trying to pinpoint exactly when in spider life he had gone back to, finding him stuck at 6. he recognized jake and neytiri, could be swayed to recognize the eldest siblings despite how much they had ages, but he had no memory tuk as she hadn't been born for another 3 years. to the pain of his family, he didn't recognize any of them at all, and only let ao'nung hold him because he'd gotten used to it walking back and was too frozen with fear to let anyone else close.
it was determined that spider should know what happened and that he would live village life as all of the younger kids did, staying with whomever he is most comfortable with, and it would be played by ear. they had no way of determining why or how this had happened (though ronal felt as though spider was getting a second chance at childhood with his new family) or how long it would last so there was little point in arguing about it.
spider was informed of the prediciment, saying that eywa had blessed for a reason, allowing him to go back into his child years for a reason only she knew. that he had been adopted officially by the Tonowari's, the chief and tsahik no less, and that he'd been living with them for over a year. and that he would be free to live amongst the village like any other child, free to float between families as he wished. ao'nung got to do most of that favor, as spider could barely look the women he was calling mother just days before in the eye. nor did he fully trust being around the sully's, he could barely recognize his siblings, and he didn't seem to have the fondest of memories of the parents.
ao'nung found himself very protective of the little thing, more so then he normally was; he was protective of spider because he was his brother and human, he was protective of children because they are defenseless, he was protective of his siblings because that was his job his duty as the eldest. now he was the eldest brother of a tiny, scared, defenseless, human child; he had never felt such a drive to protect in his life. spider stayed with him the first few nights, and ao'nung kept him close, bundled in a blanket. when spider began venturing into the village, ao'nung was close behind, making sure no one messed with his baby brother. spider had lost any and all instinct to live amongst the reef village with his memory; finding it difficult to navigate the sand or swim with strength and confidence, meaning ao'nung was always on the verge of just scooping the little one up and hauling him back to the pod where he would be safe. he hisses and lashes his tail at anyone who disturbs spidr's naps or plays too rough around him (he is his mother's child after all)
spider began warming up to the people around him. first were tsireya and rotxo, it was hard to keep them away from the baby, no matter how hard ao'nung wanted to keep him all to himself. it was nice seeing him reconnect, completely unknowingly on spiders end, with some his best friends in the world. playing in the tide pools with tsireya or napping against rotxo. he even begins to reconnect with ronal and tonowari, spending long hours by the water's edge with his mother watching the sunset or with his father caring for the ilu and tsurak.
ao'nung is testy with the sully parents, not letting them around spider as much as they would like, not wanting them to taint this second chance spider has at childhood; part of him knows its unfair, part of him even thinks it might be good for spider to reconnect with them, now that they were trying to do better, but the need to protect his baby brother from a known threat overshadowed that by a longshot. even as spider sought them out, he had a very angry, very much ready to pounce lashing his tail in the corner as he supervises the meetings.
spider quickly caught up with his siblings, tuk and him being close in age definitely helped. kiri and lo'ak loved fawning after their now little brother. ao'nung was happy to see him happy, he knew the only thing spider had when he was younger was his siblings, so he was happy he got to keep that.
as spider gained his 'sea legs' and confidence in the village, ao'nung had to watch out for slips, trips, falls, and boo-boos. spider was a tough cookie though, while ao'nung was having a heart attack cause his little knees were all scraped up, spider was telling a tale as to how he gained his wounds. helped his mother stay on top of putting ointment on spider's skin so he didn't burn to a crisp; he'd already rocked a sun-poisoned spider to sleep once and he won't be doing it again.
over all, spider has the most attentive, loving, and protective brother possible. whether he has to age all over again or he ages up quickly over time, he will always have his brother to love and protect him.

a/n: i am literally screaming, sorry this took so long to respond to!! i’m gonna do it in a head cannon mixed with a little blurb of conversation etc if that’s okay!! i hope you have a wonderful day/night as well!!
Neteyam x Ao’noung’s twin reader(gender neutral)
Tumblr media
☆◦ first meeting ☆◦
When the Sully family first arrived, your brother Ao’nung was bothering the forest boys. You felt bad and ended up hitting him several times over the head for being mean when you returned home
You constantly watched them from afar when not tasked with helping them grow used to your people’s way of life, you had to constantly hear your sister rant and ramble about the younger Sully boy; Lo’ak, rolling your eyes and by some miracle of Eywa, you got her to finish her dinner. (it didn’t stop after dinner either)
Much like your twin, Ao’nung, you were more stand-off-ish. Watching and studying them until of course your brother decided it was a good idea to pick on one of them, you found your parents and told them. It was the most you could do given your quiet and reserved nature.
It wasn’t uncommon for you to not talk, you were more of the type to watch and listen, peaking the interest of the oldest sully boy; Neteyam. He would glance your way however he wouldn’t strike up a conversation. It was mostly silent glances and hidden smiles with the occasional greeting between you both.
Sometimes, instead of outright talking to him, you’d leave gifts with notes saying who it was for or getting your sister to give it to Neteyam for you since your brother would skin you for being around them willingly.
If you were being honest, you did sneak out a handful of times to swim or be around Neteyam when Ao’nung was busy, he was older by one whole minute and he would always tease you for being a single minute “late”. This gave way to small talk, little things about where things were or how to do something the list goes on.
Neteyam was determined to at least have a full on conversation with you, even if it was small. So he set out to learn as much as he could about you, bothering your sister as much as Lo’ak would allow without getting jealous or teasing him. He soon found out your interests, using them to make conversation.
once Neteyam brought up your interests, it was like the sun went out and was replaced by your face, you were beaming like nothing in the world could bring you down. You sat him down and finally talked for what seemed like hours, you and Neteyam laughing and messing around while you talked, he asked questions and you gave answers until there was nothing left to talk about for that day.
“Can we do this again tomorrow? Right here? I don’t mind what we talk about, I had fun!” Neteyam smiled and waited for an answer. He did have fun, the most fun he’s had in a while, he was glad he got to see you open up so much. “Is the sea blue?” You beamed back at him, eyes twinkling as you let a laugh escape your lips. Neteyam knew right then and there that he needed to make you laugh more.
☆◦ relationship cuteness ☆◦
Neteyam is the type to bring you little gifts much to the dismay of your twin, he wouldn’t “show you off” unless you were okay with it and did it first(ie: kissing his cheek, holding hands, hugging etc etc)
He would take you out on little dates that feel more like hanging out with your best friend but with gentle touches and sweet kisses. Neteyam often asks his mom or dad on what they did for dates and how they spent them then using that information to take you out on something similar.
He turns to puddy in your hands when you play with his hair or draw little hearts/circles on his skin. He melts for your touch even when he’s upset, you feel like home, always keeping him safe and far away from harm.
Whenever Neteyam gets scolded or something happens which causes his dad to yell or get upset, he finds you. You remind him how gentle and loving people can be, you remind him that he doesn’t need to be perfect all the time to earn your affection. Him being here and loving you is more than enough for you to be proud of him.
You remind him that even if he’s his father’s son, it doesn’t mean he can’t show emotion, he’s not a robot. You remind him that it’s okay to cry or feel negatively about something rather than keeping it to himself and he does the same for you. You are each other’s safety nets and the first person you both turn to when things get tough. You both know what makes the other feel better, that isn’t to say you two don’t fight; you have arguments like any one else but you always make up and never leave each other upset for too long.
He’s still learning that he doesn’t have to be perfect constantly, especially around you, any little praise has his heart doing backflips with joy.
When Neteyam came back from hunting with his father and brother, he showed you some of the things he found along with the fish he caught. He handed you the shells as a little gift, he wasn’t the best at making jewelry so he hoped you could make something with them. Once you saw what he caught, you bounced on the balls of your feet, taking his hands in yours with that same beaming smile.
“Net, you did such a good job! I’m so proud of you!” You placed gentle kisses on his knuckles, he had caught a rather big fish so it was only right for you to reward him with soft kisses. What you didn’t expect was for him to pull you into a tight, yet comforting, hug. His head nuzzled into your neck, mumbling a soft ‘thank you’ while his tail found its home around your leg. Your arms wrapping around him as well, holding him close and placing light kisses on his temple. “Of course, my handsome boy, I’ll always be proud of you.” You whispered into his ear, eyes fluttering closed and enjoying his warmth.
a/n(pt2) i really hope you enjoyed this!! i hope it fit what you were hoping for as well!

Until It Doesn’t Hurt
Chapter 6: Can You Feel My Heart?
Summary:
20 years since the RDA was pushed off of the moon of Pandora, they are back once more. The RDA thinks their only problem is the traitor Jake Sully and his family, but as it turns out, Jake wasn’t the only ‘problem’ left behind 20 years ago.
Anthe was a child soldier, stolen from their home and forced to learn the ways of the humans, erasing any of their connections to the Na’vi from before. Finally free from the RDA’s hold after being trapped in cryosleep, they're about to make themselves everyone's problem.

_____________________________________________
Weeks turned into months and Neteyam was finding it harder and harder to deny the growing feelings in his chest. He had been enraptured with Anthe from the first time he had seen them, that much was obvious. It was everything after that, the little things that caught him off guard. He began to notice the way their hair liked to curl around their face and ears when it broke loose from their braid. The way they chewed their bottom lip when they were thinking intently about something and how their typically guarded gaze softened around his siblings. Kiri had told him how they had handled the fight between Lo’ak and Tuk. How gentle they had been, and it made Neteyam’s heart swell in a way he had never felt before, knowing they cared for and were so sweet with his siblings.
He thought constantly back to that moment in the pond, replaying it over and over in his mind. The expanse of scars along their back, the way their muscles shifted beneath blue striped skin. Time and healing had done them well too, no longer haunted by malnourishment thanks to Neteyam’s mother and grandmother’s food, their body had filled itself out once more. They remained lean, like all Na’vi, but were now more clearly muscled and strong, no longer looking so severe as before. Anthe still favored sky peoples clothing, despite multiple offers from himself and Kiri to make them something more traditionally Na’vi. That made their newly exposed flesh as they had undressed all the more enticing to him, and he had had to catch himself from licking his lips at the sight. Then there was the vulnerability displayed so plainly on Anthe’s face, how badly he had wanted to kiss them. He had been about to ask for just that. And then Lo’ak had ruined it.
Neteyam had spent the following hunting trip with his brother, brooding and annoyed. Lo’ak it turn, relentlessly teased his older brother for his blatant crush. Lo’ak shouldn’t have needed Neteyam’s help at all, Only a few more months shy of his own final rights, but the younger man was easily bored or distracted on solo hunts, and enjoyed annoying his older brother just a bit too much. As soon as Lo’ak had realized Neteyam was with Anthe, he had taken his interruption as a chance to embarrass Neteyam in any way he could. In this case, it was by threatening to expose Neteyam’s crush to the rest of their family. Which in retrospect, would not be surprising to them at all, but it was the principal of the thing. Between their bickering, the brothers had managed to barely bag a single yerik to bring back to the clan, but something was better than nothing.
Now, Neteyam lay on his sleeping mat staring at the ceiling of the family kelku. He couldn’t sleep, mind swimming with his own unfamiliar insecurity. He knew he was attractive and skilled. He knew that others thought so as well, given how many men and women of the clan had tried their best to woo him. He was the future Olo’Eyktan after all, and so clan members vying for his attention was to be expected. Whoever he chose as his future mate would be next in line as Tsahik. That was their expectation anyways, but Neteyam had had conversations with his parents and grandmother about naming Kiri as Tsakarem instead. His younger sister was wiser and more connected to Eywa than most, and the siblings already worked well together. It would make sense, and was not entirely unheard of for an Olo’eyktan and Tsahik to not be a mated pair. Just look at his father and grandmother. It gave Neteyam the freedom to choose his future mate without the added pressure of them having to be Tsahik as well.
Still, Neteyam had never felt the need to impress anyone other than his parents before, yet here he was, trying constantly to do just that for Anthe. Any chance he got, he puffed like a peacock, showing off as much as he was able. He hunted and cooked just to share the meals with them, collected trinkets he thought they would like, and even began carving a hunting knife for them. It was one of the reasons he was so eager for their wound to finally finish healing, so he could show them more, teach them more. Prove himself to be every bit the mighty warrior everyone else seemed to know he was already.
But Anthe was always so guarded, so quiet, it made them hard for Neteyam to read. They held themselves like a soldier, drawn tight and waiting on orders, jumping at any potential threat. They were clearly a warrior, and a good one at that. Easily able to identify weaknesses and blindspots when Neteyam had brought them to watch him train with the other warriors. They had called a number of warriors on what they did wrong, and how the sky people’s soldiers might try to exploit any perceived weakness. They had been so clear and concise with their points, Neteyam’s father had asked them to help with training. Neteyam had tried, early on, to ask them about the other stolen Na’vi they had been with before and their own training, but Anthe seemed to shut down, either unable or unwilling to answer him. He hadn’t asked again.
He wondered constantly what they thought of him, if they saw directly through his confidence to the insecurity underneath the same way they picked out a warrior's sloppy footwork, or unguarded flank. The prospect terrified him in the most thrilling way. Most people only ever saw his surface, the easy confidence of a leader, always sure of himself. Only Kiri had ever seemed to see the pressure he was under, the cracks in his foundation that seemed only spread with each scolding from his father. Did Anthe see that too? Could they pick apart his very soul, unraveling him to nothingness at a glance. The way they spoke sometimes, it sounded like they knew the pressure of leadership well, or at least witnessed it. Could they tell much he had come to care for them? He thought they might. A part of Neteyam hoped they did, even if they did well to hide themselves behind their soldiers' mask.
However, sometimes the mask slipped, and more and more often, he would see them smile or laugh. Neteyam’s heart would swell with a giddy energy that had him grinning right back, even at Anthe’s smallest smile or snort of laughter. Those were the moments he lived for, when he could finally See them. No mask, no walls, just Anthe. Their guarded exterior melted away to reveal their true self. They were quick-witted and sarcastic, but never in a mean way. They laughed at stupid jokes and smiled softly at the beauty of the world around them. Neteyam could tell they still hesitated, not quite willing to give themselves entirely to life in High Camp, still holding tight to their shields, but he hoped with time that they would come around, just as they had come around to him.
He thought of that first night, when Anthe had sobbed in his arms, all their grief and pain laid bare to him. Neteyam didn’t know the specifics of what they went through, maybe he never would, but he watched the reality of their situation hit them all the same. Nearly twenty years they had slept, frozen in time, if Neteyam’s fathers timeline was correct. All that time was lost to them, not knowing if their friends survived and abandoned them, or had died while they slept. No way for them to find out. His father had offered to take a group back to the compound Anthe had come from and check for them, but they had told him not to bother.
Norm had already explained that RDA cryosleep pods were not meant to hold an occupant for more than ten years at a time. The way they were built was not meant for longer stasis, and the fact that Anthe had survived within one for nearly double the time had been nothing short of a miracle. From their description, the five remaining pods had failed, their occupants likely long dead within their metal tombs. Anthe had not seemed surprised at the revelation, just solemnly nodding, as if they had expected that this was the case already. Norm had at least tried to give them some hope, remarking that the two other open pods had probably worked just fine, whoever they had housed, possibly roaming the forest as they spoke. Anthe had only looked away, shrugging a quiet ‘maybe’.
Tonight, as with every night, Anthe was curled up on the mat next to Neteyam, their back to him. Arms and tail coiled tightly around their knees in a fetal position. They always slept like that, scrunched tight and small, unmoving save for the occasional twitch of tell-tale dreaming. They made little to no noise, their breathing barely more than a sigh. Neteyam turned onto his side, towards them, admiring the way their hair splayed around them in wild curls and waves. Kiri had convinced them to take down their braid for the evening, and let her brush and wash their hair. Anthe had hesitated, but was quickly convinced by a giddy Tuk. He wondered if they would let him braid it again for them in the morning. Their wound from the palulukan had healed well, now just a raised scar that danced along their shoulder blade and bicep that peaked from underneath their tank top. Neteyam should be allowed to take them hunting soon, maybe even tomorrow. He was excited to teach them to use a bow, and as soon as it was finished he would give them the knife he was making for them.
Suddenly, Anthe shuttered and tensed, sucking in a gasping breath. Neteyam had learned early on that Anthe was prone to nightmares, waking with a gasp or whimper and sudden tremors. Neteyam had helped calm them a few times before, when their sudden awakening had roused him as well. They had been embarrassed by it, apologizing for waking him any time it happened. But tonight Anthe remained unmoving, still curled tightly in on themselves, breathing ragged, as if waiting. They must have been trying to see if they had woken him or anyone else. Across the room, Lo’ak snored loudly and rolled over on his mat, but no one else moved. He heard them take in a deep breath, calming themselves before slowly and deliberately uncurling themselves and rolling to their back.
“{Are you alright?}” He whispered, reaching a hand to take one of theirs, interlocking their fingers. Anthe made a noise like a bitter chuckle, pulling their loose tangle of hair away from their face.
“{I woke you up again.}” They sounded tired.
“{I was already awake.}” The warrior reassured them, shuffling himself closer to them and propping himself up on an elbow. Anthe kept their eyes closed with furrowed brows, they hesitated a moment, then pulled their clasped hands to their chest just above their heart. Neteyam could feel the erratic pounding of their heartbeat under his palm. He shuffled closer, looping his arms around them and pulling Anthe to his chest. They curled into him, burying their face in his neck, and took a shuddering breath.
“{Is this okay?}” Neteyam whispered, running a soothing hand along their back. Anthe just nodded, some of the tension starting to ease out of their body. He didn’t have to wait long to hear their breathing evening out again as sleep reasserted itself. It was just as quick to claim him as well, Anthe’s comforting weight in his arms lulling him finally into unconsciousness.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Neteyam woke to the sound of Lo’ak and Kiri giggling loudly in the kelku, the weight of something soft and warm pressing into him. He groaned, rubbing his face with his free hand as his eyes adjusted to the morning light.
“{Good morning loverboy~}” Lo’ak crooned from nearby, a wicked grin plastered across his face.
“{Lo’ak, be quiet! You’re gonna wake up Anthe!}” Kiri batting at their brother, though she was clearly amused herself.
Neteyam was propping himself up, about to ask his sibling just what the hell they were talking about when he finally looked down towards the weight that pinned him in place. Anthe was snuggled tightly to his chest, still sound asleep. One of their legs snaked between his own, pressing him tight between their legs, their tail curled tightly around his thigh, and one arm thrown languidly across Neteyam’s stomach. Neteyam's own tail was curled around his sleeping companion’s waist, and hand resting on their ribs where their tank top had ridden up. He felt himself flush, heat flooding his body as he surveyed his predicament.
Very gently, Neteyam began to extract himself, slowly pulling Anthe off of him, hyper aware of his body's reaction to the intimate position. Anthe made a small whimpering noise at the loss of contact, that was not helping Neteyam at all, but remained asleep, quickly curling in on themselves again. For a second, Neteyam just sat back and stared, feeling almost dazed. But he was simultaneously all too aware of his siblings watching him, Lo’ak barely holding back his giggles as Kiri scolded him lightly.
“{Where are mother and father?}” He cleared his throat, trying to change the subject.
“{Mom took Tuk out to help Grandma, and Dad went out for the morning hunt.}” Kiri shrugged.
“{He didn’t wake me?}” Neteyam frowned.
“{He said he thought you needed the sleep.}” Kiri smiled, her tone light and matter of fact.
“{Yeah,}” Lo’ak laughed again. “{You looked too cozy all snuggled up with Anthe.}” Neteyam turned just a bit too quickly, knowing he was flushed in obvious embarrassment. He grabbed his hunting pack and mumbled something about morning chores as he rushed out of the kelku, Lo’ak’s loud cackling echoing behind him.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
It was just about noon when Neteyam finished his chores, and was heading back to the family kelku once again. He had left in a rush, desperate to escape in his embarrassment. He had practically run for the bathing pools, urgently needing to cool himself off and quell the burning heat coursing through his body. Thankfully, Neteyam had avoided his parents for the better part of the morning, fearful of what they might comment on his sleeping arrangements with Anthe the previous night. If they did, Neteyam thought he might die of mortification right then and there.
Now, the Olo’eyktan would be busy trying to organize battle strategies for the next raid in the War Tent with some of the other warriors, something usually Neteyam would attend as well. But the young warrior had other things on his mind, and knew better than to be visibly distracted in front of his father. He pushed the flap of the kelku open with one arm, bracing himself for Lo’ak’s teasing once more. But it never came. The kelku was mostly empty, save Anthe, sitting against the far wall, playing idly with the steel bladed knife that they always kept close at hand. They didn’t seem to notice him, too focused on the serrated edge of the knife in their hands. Their hair was still loose around their shoulders, a mass of writhing curls obscuring their face from view.
“{Hey.}” Neteyam said, trying not to spook his companion as he entered the kelku. Anthe glanced up at him, pulled from their thoughts and lowering their knife as they looked towards him, then quickly looked away. Something felt off, an uncomfortable atmosphere surrounding the kelku as Neteyam dropped his hunting pack back in its place by his sleeping mat.
“{Is everything okay? Where are Kiri and Lo’ak?}” The warrior furrowed his brow, increasingly concerned as he approached them. Had  he made the wrong decision in comforting them the way he had last night? Made them uncomfortable? Or had Lo’ak or said something when they woke. Anthe shook their head, making a hoarse scoff of a noise, bitter smile painting itself unpleasantly across their face as they attempted to push their tangle of hair out of their face. Neteyam saw the raw redness around their eyes, and the smattering of tear stains across their tanhí speckled cheeks. He fought the urge to pull them to his chest again, and ease whatever was plaguing them.
“{Lo’ak went to do his chores.}” Anthe said finally, setting down their knife to rub at their face and eyes. “{I only woke up a little while ago. Kiri was here, but I told her to go.}” They sniffed, pulling their knees to their chest.
“{Did something happen?}”
“{No. Just dreams like always.}” They shrugged, resting their chin on their knees, still not making eye contact with him. Neteyam felt some of his anxiety ebbing away with their admission. He had not upset them, only the dreams. Quietly, he sat himself beside them, resting an arm across their shoulders and bent in close, huddling together.
“{You know you can always talk to Grandmother about these dreams. She may be able to help.}” Neteyam spoke softly, concerned eyes roaming their features. “{Or me. I can't say I can help, but I can listen.}” Anthe glanced at him, looking conflicted, but leaned more heavily into him, chewing their lip. Neteyam let himself press his forehead into theirs, an intimate gesture he hoped they would understand. Anthe looked at him, their golden eyes scanning his as if searching for something. They opened and closed their mouth, about to try and say something when a loose strand of dark hair fell across their mouth. Anthe reared back sputtering to dislodge the rogue curls from their lips and Neteyam couldn’t help but laugh.
“{Here, this, I can definitely help with.}” He smiled, watching some of the discomfort and tension easy from Anthe as he pushed their hair from their face. He found one of his mothers combs, using it to slowly detangle and braid back their hair once more. They relaxed easily into his touch, tail thumping lightly on the mat besides them. Neteyam couldn’t help the wagging of his own tail, secretly overjoyed that he would be allowed this closeness with Anthe. It really was undeniable at this point, he was falling in love.
“{Neteyam?}” Anthe broke the silence. They were fiddling with their knife again, sounding unsure. “{Can I ask you something?}”
“{Of course.}”
“{Have you ever met anyone named Tenak? A warrior, I mean.}” Neteyam thought for a moment. The name wasn’t immediately familiar to him, not one of the members of his clan at least.
“{I can’t say I have. Not within the clan.}”
“{But other clans, maybe?}”
“{Maybe. Can you give me a description?}” Neteyam had been on envoy trips with his father to other clans before. It was possible he could have seen this Tenak on one of those trips. Neteyam wondered who the man must be for Anthe to be asking about him. Someone they had not mentioned before now, and important to them, certainly. Neteyam had never pushed to hear more about the people Anthe knew from before, but he had a feeling this was one of them.
“{Um,}” Anthe hesitated, their fidgeting growing more anxious, tail curling around themselves. “{He’s tall, maybe a little taller than your dad. And he keeps his hair short on the sides, but long on top, awful at braiding it though, it always falls out unless someone else does it for him. Green eyes… and his back is all scars, from a viper- a nantang attack.}” Anthe corrected themselves, catching the english name on their lips. “{He might be older now. Or older than I remember anyways.}”
Neteyam finished their braid with one of his own beaded leather cords, gently wrapping the end around his work and Anthe’s kuru to make one massive braid the way they liked. He shuffled around to face them properly, no longer sitting at their back.
“{I can’t say I have met anyone by that name or description,}” Neteyam sighed, watching Anthe’s shoulders sag with disappointment. “{But if I ever do, you will be the first to know.}” Anthe nodded a quiet thanks to him. Neteyam couldn’t help himself.
“{He is one of the others that was taken by the skypeople?}” He asked, not wanting to waste the opportunity. Anthe nodded.
“{He was the oldest. He took care of us, took care of me.}” Their voice was soft and nostalgic, speaking with a level of reverence Neteyam hadn’t heard from them before. “{Tenak was our squad lead, I was second after him.}”
“{You were very close?}” Neteyam didn’t want to ask, but a part of him had to know. He could feel the claws of jealousy start to claw at his stomach. There had been times at High Camp since Anthe’s arrival where other warriors had tried to flirt with them. Neteyam had felt the jealousy then too, annoyed at the thought of other people trying to steal Anthe’s attention away from him. He hadn’t needed to do more than huff a growl or glare to get those other warriors to back off then, but this was different. This was a history that he wasn’t privy to. An unmet potential rival he had just agreed to find for them.
“{He’s my big brother. Was my big brother.}” Anthe said with a shrug. All at once Neteyam felt simultaneous relief and embarrassment for jumping to conclusions too quickly. Anthe was still looking down at the knife in their hands, turning the dark metal blade over and over. There was something carved into its hilt that Neteyam recognized. Ayfo tsun fmong ftu ayoeng kehe nulkrr. They will steal from us no longer.
“{This was his. I found it when I got out.}” Anthe ran their thumb across the carved Na’vi script.
“{If he is out there, we will find him.}” Neteyam said, determined, handing their face in his hands to make sure they saw him. “{And if he's anything like you, he will be out there.}” Anthe stared at him, golden eyes swimming with some emotion, maybe guilt he thought. They didn’t answer him, but closed their eyes, blinking away sudden tears that threatened to spill. Anthe set the knife aside, brought their hands to hold his wrists and carefully pulled him away, but not letting him go, hands resting together in their lap.
“{You are too kind to me, you know. I don’t deserve it.}”Anthe shook their head with a tired smile that didn’t quite reach their eyes.  Neteyam was taken aback.
“{You don’t think you deserve kindness?}” Anthe didn’t look at him, just shrugged, making Neteyam scowl. The thought that anyone had ever made Anthe think they were not worthy of kindness made him angry. He huffed a frustrated breath, quickly gathering Anthe up in his arms and pulling them to his chest. They squeaked in surprise as he curled himself around them. Anthe really wasn’t much smaller than him, only shorter by a couple of inches, but Neteyam still managed to engulf much of their frame with his own.
“{Neteyam! What are you doing!?}” Anthe wriggled in his grasp, both of their arms trapped to his chest. They protested, but Neteyam could hear the laugh that had snuck into their voice.
“{I am holding you until you stop believing that utter bullshit!}” Anthe stopped wiggling for a moment at that. They had gotten one of their long legs free, and it curled around Neteyam’s waist.
“{Will you at least let me get more comfortable first? I feel like a pretzel.}” Anthe said, their voice muffled where their head was pushed into Neteyam’s bicep. The warrior acquiesced, loosening his hold just enough to let Anthe detangle their limbs, to wrap around him more comfortably. They rested their head on his shoulder, arms wrapping around his neck, and now freed leg joining the other in wrapping around his waist. Neteyam held them close, twinning his tail with theirs and nuzzling his face into the crook of Anthe’s neck.
He found he didn’t really care if someone saw the pair like this, tightly embraced on the floor of his family kelku. It didn’t matter. Nothing mattered besides holding Anthe to him, and that they held him back.

Spider x HUMAN reader
SPOILERSZSZZSZ
Warnings: cursing, guns, violence, almost character death, and character death.
This was a request: we have been with the sky people since birth. We go on a mission with the Colonel. Spider; a few others convince us to join them, and help defeat Quarich
Y/H/T = YOUR HAIR TYPE
Y/E/C= YOUR EYE COLOR
Y/N= YOUR NAME
Y/S/C= YOUR SKIN COLOR
A/N: I hope this is what you wanted, I hope you enjoyed it.
Oh they're both 23.
Me and Spider have been raised to hate the Na'Vi's. Spider has been different, he's been distant lately. His father has been training him to be one of his Dogs.
I never wanted my life to be like this, to want to murder the Na'Vi. I was always in love with their ways, wanting to be like them, wishing I could be like them. But I was a human, a human that was meant to be on Earth.
I noticed that Spider was in the training room, he had been in there almost the whole day.
My pounding in my ears as I hadn't seen him in two weeks. I opened the doors to hear the sound of punching, and grunts.
He was punching one of the practice dummies. I quietly entered the room, only for the machine's slide door to shut loudly. He stopped and turned around.
Before I could say anything the door opened again only to find a blue Na'Vi version of Quarich.
"Good, you're both in here." Spider stopped everything as he stood next to me. He looked stronger, his muscles were more pronounced.
He's taller too, maybe a foot or two taller than me. His hair wasn't down past his shoulders anymore, as he chopped it off. His face matured, as he was looking more like his father by the day.
"I want you two to come with me on an important mission." Is he serious? I hadn't gone on a mission yet, and I hadn't had enough training.
"Sorry to interrupt sir, but I've never been on a mission before." I said.
"Well, today's your lucky day." I gulped, I waited for Quarich to speak again.
"What's the mission sir?" Spider asked, waiting for his order.
"To kill Jake Sully." I made sure to not make a reaction.
"To kill?" I asked, wanting to make sure I heard correctly.
"Is that gonna be an issue?" I shake my head.
   "N-no sir." I stammered.
"Good. We leavin' first thing in that mornin'." I was now dismissed as I quickly rushed out of the training room.
I thought I was able to finally speak to him, but I knew that he didn't want anything to do with me. I just needed to know where we stood, we were so close, yet we're so far away.
I thought he loved me, the way that I loved him. We hadn't snuck out to look out over the fence anymore together, wishing we could be one of them. No more sneaking into each other's rooms at night to have one last kiss, to be him being the last person I see to the first person to see in the morning.
Only for us to be a part of a war at such a young age. We were just lab rats, to be tested on to see who was worthy enough to kill a Na'Vi, just some silly little game.

The next day…
We were heading to the forest. I was loading my bag as we still had an hour before we left. I heard a light knock on my door, I turned around and saw him.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, not stopping what I'm doing.
"I wanted to talk." I scoffed, stopping what I was doing to turn around to the boy.
"Kay then, talk. Because I've waited to talk to you for months, so you get the same treatment." I walked away from him, but not far as I shut my bathroom door to grab what I needed.
"Cmon, you seriously can't be mad at me." He said through the door.
I quickly opened the door, shocked that I didn't hit my face in the process.
"Mad? No, I'm not mad. I'm more than mad." I slammed the door again to grab my toiletries into a small pouch.
I still hadn't gotten the chance to fix my hair, as my y/h/t was all over the place as you didn't get a chance to put it up.
"Baby c'mon! I'm sorry alright!" My hands continued to shake, not wanting to hear from him anymore.
"Leave!" I couldn't take it anymore.
"Spider, get out! Because I swear, I'll scream bloody murder." I threatened, my hands moving along with my emotions.
"Fine. I'll go, I'll leave. We're done." He was quick to leave, slamming the now closed door causing the walls to shake a little.
Did he just break up with me? My brain was fuzzy trying to figure out what just happened.
I was barely dressed, as I was in my military pants and black sports bra I rushed out of my room to find him.
I didn't care that people were looking or cat calling, but I was stopped once again by Quarich.
My face hit his hard chest as I was quick to cover my arms over my almost bare chest.
"What are you two doin'?" I shrugged, not knowing myself.
"I think he just broke up with me." I whispered, not wanting to cry in front of my boss/his father.
I couldn't tell if his eyes held sympathy, but I couldn't help but think he was.
"We're leaving now. Get your things together." He ordered, not caring about the topic at hand, or the fact I'm not wearing a shirt.
"Yes sir." I muttered under my breath walking away with embarrassment.

I punched the wall, not caring how much my hand hurt or the dent I placed in the wall. I grabbed my bag as I was now fully dressed in my uniform, I grabbed my exopack and placed it on as we were now on the ship.
"They're not in the forest." I informed, looking over the monitors from the last time we were in the villages.
I put a tracker on the areas we were in, to track down the Sully's.
"Where the hell are they then?" I pursed my lips at the tone in Spiders' voice, the type of tone that'd make you want to punch a man in the face.
"They're at the Metkayina village. They're a water tribe, unless you want to back down now if you don't know how to swim sir." I said, he clenched his jaw as he looked towards his father who just nodded his head.
"We need to find a boat then." I was shocked that he didn't want to say something back. He usually did when we would get into fights like these.
"If you could find one." I retorted, trying to get him angry, it was the only way he'll talk to me. His emotions would be so bottled up that he'd shout them out.
He turned around and raised his hand in exaggeration, I flinched. I even noticed Quarich was about to step forward as I continued to stammer over my words.
A look of realization hit him, as he saw the look of fright on my face.
"Did you think I was going to hit you?" I continued to stare at him like a deer in headlights.
"Let's just find a boat, and kill Jake." I said, clearing my throat as everyone stayed silent.
I walked off as I went to find someone with a boat.

   Time skip because I'm lazy😭
It's been a few hours since we've been on the water, I was able to find a scientist to let us borrow a boat.
I was feeling sick, as I've never been on a boat before I threw up in the ocean.
"You're a soldier girl, you fly in the air yet you can't be on a ship?" I swish water in my mouth to get rid of the bile, and spit it back in the ocean.
"Reasons why I didn't join the Navy." Quarich lets out a laugh.
"You have good humor girl." I smiled in amusement as I still noticed Spider's distance.
"I see something!" I shouted, I noticed four blue Na'Vi's on what looked like Ilus.
They seemed to be rushing to escape, only for us to be faster.
We were able to kidnap Sully's kids to use as bait. I made eye contact with the little girl, as I felt bad.
I didn't like this, my heart was in the pit of my stomach but I knew that I had to follow orders.

"I'm sorry." I sobbed, as I went to release them only for arms to wrap behind me.
"Spider let go of me!" I grunted, I couldn't escape his hold.
"No! You're going to get yourself killed and I'm not going to let you." I continued to fight his hold, not wanting to destroy a family all because of a failed mission in the past.
"They're children! Look! They're children! What if they were ours? What would you do if Jake Sully kidnapped our children and used them as bait!" I shouted.
"Please, we could defeat him. You are good people, please help us." The older girl spoke, as they looked at us with pleading yellow eyes.
"Spider." I said his name, my voice sounding desperate.
"Spider!" I shouted, as he held a knife in his hand and marched towards the crying children.
He let them go, cutting their restrains that were tied to the railing of the ship.
"Thank you." The older boy said, a look of relief on his face as he looked at me.
"Let's put an end to this." I placed a hand on the tall boy's shoulders.
He was only a few feet taller than Spider and me.
But before we could escape the sound of gunshots echoed, causing us to freeze but I was the first to jump off.
They all had the idea to jump, but I decided to stay behind. Wanting to stall for them. As I saw Quarich, I gasped. Grabbing a gun as I saw Jake jump onto the ship as well.
"Here!" I shouted, tossing the older man a gun.
I was able to distract Quarich as I dove into the ocean.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Spider screamed at me, as he was facing me in the water.
"I have to go back! He needs our help to kill him!" I was trying to have Spider's grip let go of my waist, so I had to kick him hard.
I was able to get to the latter as the other kids followed with me.
Jake was in a choke hold, as he was losing his breath.
I found the gun that was far away, I grabbed it and I went to try to shoot Miles, only for soldiers to come after me.
I noticed they were jumping back into the water as I pushes the older boy out of the way.
I let out a shout, as I saw that Jake was able to get the upper hand again and Neytiri to jump out and shoot Quarich.
My eyelids began to feel heavy. I felt two strong arms grab me and try to swim us towards a safer area.
I don't know what will happen next, but my eyes are closed and my mind goes blank.
Three days later….
I finally woke up, pounding in my head as the light shined in my eyes.
"Dad! She's awake!' I groaned again at the shouting.
"Where am I?' My voice was hoarse, as if I've been asleep for years.
"You're in the village. Thank you, I don't know how to repay you." I shake my head and give him a tired smile.
"They don't deserve this, your family. I will do anything to be able to be like your people, to live a life like this." I whispered.
"I will forever be in your debt." I smiled again.
"Is he dead?" My voice was low, as I saw him nod his head.
"Yes, he is gone for good." I let out a laugh.
"Thank you. Thank you." I cried tears of joy though I should feel sad that the boy I loved father was dead.
Miles Quarich was an evil man, a monster.
"Someone would like to see you though." I scrunch my eyebrows together only to see a worried, and guilty Spider.
"Let me know if she needs anything." With that he left, the air felt thick.
I pat the side of my makeshift bed that was made of animal fur and rope.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything I said or did. My heart stopped, your heart stopped twice. I couldn't tell if you were going to die, and you were going before I could even kiss you, and the argument we had was so stupid. I didn't mean anything I said. I see you y/n. It was something I learned from Jake." I let him continue his ramble.
"Kiss me." I demand, and without a second thought he does.
     "I see you, Spider."
     "I see you, y/n."
I hope this is what you wanted and thank you for this

Reviewing the Chrom Supports because I need something to do while waiting for the Brave banner to drop.
no.1: Robin. My favorite. Both a reference to my favorite fe lord cannon romance (Sigurd and Deirdre) and even my second favorite one (Ike and Soren). The people who don't pair Chrom up with Robin astound me, the game gives you a man, tells you can break his heart ruin him, and you simply chose not to? Couldn't be me. I like what it does for Awakening's story, and I like how it makes Lucina suffer. Girl goes back in time to save her parents and the world and she finds out it's impossible to do both. Chef's kiss. Immaculate, their bond being central to the story and themes of Awakening makes it my favorite.
no.2: Maribelle. A sleeper hit for my second favorite Chrom pairing. If I ever to a play through of awakening where I play as male Robin, I'd pair Chrom up with Maribelle. I'm a sucker for childhood friends, and Maribelle having political ambitions (wanting to reform the judicial system) makes her a really interesting queen of Ylisse. Also Brady has the funniest version of the Chrom recruitment dialogue, "Is that how you speak to Ylissean royalty?" "I am Ylissean royalty!" Lives in my head rent free.
no.3: Olivia. Honestly Olivia and Chrom don't have to many actual interactions outside of their (not great) C-A support. But, while I don't have many feelings about Chrom and Olivia as a couple I do have strong feelings about Lucina and Inigo as siblings. I love them as siblings. They're so, so, funny. And Chrom!Inigo in fates, sitting on the floor of Xander's study having a crisis trying to figure out how he can see through his eye is something I have thought about. The only down side of them as siblings is that it means Owain is his cousin meaning Soleil and Ophelia are related and I think they should be girlfriends instead of second cousins.
no.4: Sully. They're both knights. Strong fighters. That's about all I feel about that. I honestly forget that they support. The recruitment Dialogue for Kjelle isn't even very different. She doesn't even say he's her father.
no.5: Sumia. The only one I actively dislike, my least favorite for a few reasons. First it's her only ending where she doesn't "Trade her lance for a stretch of pasture to raise a happy group of pegasi." Pairing her up with Chrom takes her out of her natural habitat, and I will call the cops for pegasus knight abuse. She deserves to settle down on a farm and live a peaceful quiet life. It's what she deserves. Second, I refuse to believe that Cynthia would mistake generic bandit 97 for her father. She recognised her mother's ring while both of them were mounted on their pegasi but she mistakes some guy, who doesn't have blue hair, falchion or a brand for her father! Although my distaste mostly come from the "She would be actively miserable as queen and should settle down to raise pegasi."

Finding Out
Sequel to 'Those Small Details' - except this time the team finds out about Kris and Erik. Hilarity and chaos ensues, because it's them, of course it does.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Intuition - Jake, Jarry, Rusty
Training is odd today, especially where the four musketeers are concerned. As if there's some grand secret the four of them are sitting on. Jake watches Kris and Erik skate laps around the rink, two streaks of white with raven black hair flying behind them both. They stop at the blue line and talk about something. ''Oh, hey, Erik, wanna recreate Raleigh?'' Kris says.
Erik projectile spits his energy drink out, looking flustered. ''Kris, are you...''
Kris smiles, and rolls his eyes. ''Oh, no, no, not with the kids around. The other thing from Raleigh, with Duncan Keith?'' Erik smirks, and downs his bottle. ''You're on.'' Rusty watches as they set up a race, Jarry notices the electric gaze they share. They take off, skating backwards in a lap around the rink, Kris just barely beats Erik out. Erik doffs his helmet, Kris says. ''Still got it.'' Erik nudges his hip, and says. ''Never lost it, Legend.''
Jake blinks first, looking to his two best friends. Rusty and Tristan both nod, there's something there, there has to be something there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Languages - POJ, Rakell, and Dragon
Pierre-Olivier, Ricky, and Marcus are in a rather unique hockey position. Serving as common tongue confidants to two absolute legends of the sport. PO being Tanger's sounding board in French, Raks and Dragon being the same in Swedish for Erik. The trio have kinda bonded over this, and learned from their leadership core along the way. That doesn't mean they're particularly prepared for everything. As they learn twice in one day. The boys are getting ready for a big game against Vancouver, Erik looks over to Kris. ''Ready, hjartat?'' Marcus and Ricky have to contain their shock. PO almost spits his mouth guard out when Kris responds. ''Let's do this, amour.'' Okay, okay... what the fuck?
The game ends with a 6-5 loss in a dramatic shootout, with Sam Lafferty of all people ending it with a ripper. Kris, like he always does, blames the loss on himself. Erik kneels in front of him, comforting him in near perfect french. ''Kris, regardez moi, sil vous plait. Je t'aime, mon coeur.'' PO sends Sid a slack jawed look, Sid is misty eyed. Kris asks, in near perfect swedish. ''Lova mig, alskad?'' Erik nods, and says. ''Oui, je vous prometre.''
This is when Marcus nearly faints, because Kris says, eyes shining with something older than his little Frans. ''Jag alskar dag ocksa, Erik.'' Ricky looks to Geno - who was closest to Horny back in the day. Geno just smiles, and shrugs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sleep - Gravy, Ned
The team are about an hour and a half out from a game against Minnesota, and are all assembled for roll call in the lobby. Except for the two most important defencemen on the team. Sully sends Gravy and Ned to wrangle them down for the bus to XCel, they first try Erik's room. Ned knocks on the door. ''Hey, Karl, game day, remember?'' Nothing, he tries again. ''Erik, we kinda need you up for the game, dude.'' A friendly hotel maid, Kayla, Ned remembers from this morning, says. ''Mr Nedeljkovic, Mr Karlsson isn't in that room.'' Gravy asks, feeling Sully's frustration three floors up. ''Where is he, then, Kayla?''
Kayla smiles and says. ''Room 15, Mr Graves.'' She goes back to her work, Gravy quickly realizes. ''That's Tanger's room.'' They go down the hall, Ryan looks in the peephole, seeing the duo in Kris' bed, arms wrapped around each other tight. ''Oh... my God, Ned, look.'' Alex takes a look, they look so peaceful, and on any other day he'd hate to disturb them. But, it's a work day. So, he knocks. ''Kris, game day, we're all waiting for you.''
Kris says, sounding half asleep. ''Okay, I'll be right down.'' The duo head down, and inform Sully of status. A few moments later, both Erik and Kris appear in the lobby, suited and booted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jealousy - Flower
It's become tradition by now, ever since 2017, for Flower to hang out with his three brothers after games against each other. Erik, for all his novelty, has slotted in nicely to that tradition. Erik knows Kris and Flower used to be partners in crime, and loves seeing his partner with his old best friend. But, that primal part of him still thinks they're sitting way too close together. God dammit, Kris is his. So, Erik slides up next to Kris, who instinctively wraps an arm around him, allowing Erik to lace their fingers together. ''You jealous, amour?''
Erik says, free hand placed on Kris' thigh. ''No idea what you're talking about, hjartat.'' Flower looks perplexed, fluent in two languages, and competent in two more. He knew they were a thing once upon a time, but that was ages ago... wasn't it? ''Uhm, so... what the hell? I thought you two were broken up!''
Kris nods, and kisses Erik's temple. ''We were, we've been back together since 2019, we live together now.''
Flower turns to his old leaders. ''So, uhh, did you two know about this or...''
Sid nods, looking bashful, any other season Flower would no doubt have known well before anyone else. ''Yeah, we've known for a while.'' Geno adds. ''We were like this too, Flower.'' Erik grins like the fucking cheshire cat when he jokes. ''No sniffing around my man, Fleury, cool?''
Flower smirks, already planning his family initiation prank, maybe asking Tags to put 'Lovebirds' on their jerseys. ''Got ya, Karlsson.''
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kiss - Everyone Else
Team lunch after a long training session is brotherly as always. The older guys on the team sit and eat together, talking about other games and potential strategies against their rivals. Kris dumps his lunch dishes, when his phone pings - PA zoom meeting. ''Alright, boys, the PA needs me. I'll be in the media room for the next hour or so.'' Kris zips his team hoodie up, adjusts his hat, and - as if they're at home and not in front of the whole team - leans down to kiss Erik on the lips. They come up for air to stunned silence. ''Uhh, Kris, I think the cat's outta the bag, hjartat.'' Fuck, right, they're not at home, but he's the conscience of this team, so fuck it. ''I think it's been out of the bag for a while, amour.'' He kisses Erik again, and says. ''I'll see you at home, have fun on powerplay drills.''
Erik smiles as Kris strides away to his meeting. ''You're cooking tonight!'' Kris, pleased as punch with himself, spins around to say to his partner. ''You love me, don't deny it.''
Erik nods. ''Damn right I do. You love me too.'' Kris finally admits it in public, after all these years of secrecy. ''Oh, fuck yeah I do.'' He goes off for his meeting. Carts looks to him for some kind of explanation, so do Eller, Nieto, and Acciari. ''Well, when did this all happen?'' Noel asks. Erik just vaguely says, finishing his lunch. ''Raleigh 2011.'' Because neither of them feel like rehashing their story, it's time for writing its new chapters.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just a quick ficlet, it's twin felt unfinished, so I just had to have the rest find out - including Flower, because there's no way he wouldn't. And, these two are just utterly shameless when everyone does find out.

Who are other alters liu has?
╰┈➤ LIU'S SYSTEM ✎
I mentioned before that I headcanon the system Liu's in to have at least five other members! Here are a couple of them:
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏
˗ˏˋ Kali ´ˎ˗
Kali is a memory holder
She's 14 years old and holds sentimental memories of Liu's parents
She's very creative and enjoys writing poetry with Liu sometimes
She has shaggy black hair with blonde streaks and brown eyes, she's around 5'0
Kali and Sully are very close to each other, but they argue over whose memories are correct even though technically both of them are correct
Kali looks at Sully as a younger brother
She highly discourages Sully's violence and gives Liu motivational speeches on how to resist violent urges
Liu appreciates her, but she thinks she deserves more credit than he gives her
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏
˗ˏˋ Phoenix ´ˎ˗
Phoenix is a gatekeeper and a protector
He's 32 and is in charge of who comes in and out of the front room
Gatekeepers' jobs are typically to keep unstable people out of front, which can cause a lot of confusion about Sully.
While Sully lacks a lot of a moral compass, he is not decidedly seen as "unstable" in Phoenix's eyes. Killing people is not typically "stable" behavior, but because of the way the system has formed and developed throughout Liu's years of life, Sully's tendencies are perceived as necessary for survival. Phoenix keeps everyone out of trouble with the law, for example. If there is a situation in which someone is in danger, he makes sure to remove anyone not made to handle that situation are as far away as possible.
He's pretty laid back and easy to talk to, most of the others come to him if they need someone to confide in
He sucks at giving advice sometimes, though. Not because he doesn't have any, but because if you don't take his advice, he gets pissed
Most people just come to him to vent
He's around 6'6 and has brown hair about the same color as Liu's, he has blue eyes.
Kali finds comfort in him, Sully doesn't pay much attention to him
Liu doesn't talk to him very much unless he has to - they're not commonly in the front room at the same time
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏
˗ˏˋ Extra: Sully & Liu (again) ´ˎ˗
Sully is an aggressive protector, but very much wavers on the line of aggressive protector and persecutor/prosecutor.
He's 7, like most people say he is. However, he has a much more complex mind than a 7 year old
He doesn't age, unlike the others, and the reason that he doesn't is unknown
Sully doubles as a trauma holder, he holds the memories from when Jeff attacked Liu
Liu has the same memories, but he has no emotional attachment to them like Sully does
Sully hates Jeff for what he did and while his main goal is to protect Liu from him, he's also protecting himself from that pain connecting him to that event
Sully is short, he's around 4'3 and Kali doesn't ever let him catch a break from the short jokes
Sully and Liu share similar physical features. Sully looks like a lot like Liu when he was younger, but his hair is a little darker and longer
Liu has a lot of difficulty accepting that he isn't the only one living in his body
He has some lingering hatred for everyone in the system just because of his denial, but he's been working on getting better
Liu panics often because of a lack of control that he has, he sometimes lashes out at everyone else and refuses to deliberately speak to them for weeks at a time
Sully is the only one with the balls to tell Liu that he isn't allowed to treat the others like shit just because "it was his body first"

we see people say c!tubbo is blond, some say brown, why not both?
hear me out. seasonal tubbo. similar to how an arctic fox changes color for the seasons. during winter and spring, he's a light blond, while summer and fall he's brown.
so l'manberg is in the beginning of spring, where at a first glance, everyone assumes that him and tommy are brothers. after all, there's not really many other people on the server with blond hair. they're tommy and tubbo. tubbo and tommy. if they each looked in the mirror, they'd struggle to tell who's who.
then, eventually, the elections happen in summer/fall. when tubbo's hair darkens and turns brown, everyone can't help but think 'he looks just like schlatt'. with the brown hair and the horns starting to bud. as winter approaches, bringing revolution and war, his hair starts to turn blond. after all, tommy's back and winters started. the brown fades just like wilbur does.
and new l'manberg learns to exist, to function, in the growth of spring and suddenly people compare clingyduo to phil. blonds, the lot of them. blond with those blue eyes. what was once just two children, enjoying life, is now sullied with a president, a soldier, and the killer of their brother. blond doesn't look so good anymore.
then exile strikes in the summer, and when tommy is gone, away, tubbo looks in the mirror and realizes 'i don't look so much like tommy anymore'. with a scar and hair starting to brown, they couldn't be more different.

Family reunion
Jake Sully dreams of many things. He dreams of Toruk, he dreams of Grace, he dreams of life before Neytiri.
In his dreams, he's surrounded by his family. His mom and dad, his aunt and uncle, their children, his brother, his own daughters. Things changed when he died. The family's pride and joy, the one that went to college. It was exhausting, being looked over for his brother, but he lived with it.
He had a girlfriend, but she left. Pretty sure she left for Canada, but he never got any confirmation. He supposed now, in an entirely different body, with a different life in a different world, it doesn't really matter, merely a light sting and some unanswered questions. It didn't weigh on him so heavily anymore. His children, he'd miss them. It felt like they were his only certainty in life, people he could still protect, legs be damned. But they were in the care of his parents, so he's sure they're safe.
As safe as you can be on earth, he supposed.
Still, he missed them. The guilt of essentially abandoning them without so much as a goodbye weighs on him heavily, like a chain around his neck. And even worse, he never told anyone. Everyone thinks he's some noble hero who decided to betray humanity once he could finally See. He's pretty sure he's experiencing imposter syndrome, unfortunately. He definitely deserves it.
He can't help but wonder where they are now.
–------
In the forest, cradled by steril white walls and metal machines, a man awoke. All around him, blurry faces came into view. There was a bright light, akin to a blazing sun in his vision. He reached his hand out, blue skin foreign and familiar all at once. Slowly, he felt the rest of his body–, wiggling his toes and blinking his eyes. He could hear the low thrum of his heartbeat in his ears, like the rhythm of a mighty drum. What is–, where–, who—,
Desperately, he took his first breath since he opened his eyes. His lungs felt like they were on fire, reinflating themselves with air. Unwillingly, tears pricked his eyes, a shuddering breath escaping his gritted teeth, like some kind of failed sob.
"Tommy? Tommy, are you with us?"
The voice sounded curious. It was so strange, how loud it sounded. He had the feeling that voices didn't sound like this before. Looking around, he was engulfed in white–, white gloves, white coats, white walls.
"Tommy Sully, can you give us confirmation that you are awake right now?" They asked, "Say something."
And then suddenly, colour didn't matter. He was breathing! He was alive! The euphoria of breathing, of finally having oxygen in his system was starting to kick in. He was light headed, but in a good way! He felt like he could reach up and touch the ceiling, hell, like he could reach up and touch the stars while laying down. He took another deep breath, before he started giggling. He faced the doctor with a shit-eating grin.
"Something."
–--------
"We're so glad you took up on our offer, Miss Sully." A man from behind a desk spoke, but silenced as the young woman before him spoke. "I will not be referred to by that name." Her voice was cold and unwavering, matched only by her steely gaze. "Of course, Miss Mel. I trust you don't need to be briefed about your mission?"
Dahlia Mel, otherwise known as Lillian Sully, was a cold woman. On the taller side of women in her family, she stood at a mighty 5'4 ft. Half her face bore a burn, singing away her eyebrows and lashes. The flesh on her cheek had melted away, revealing the gums and teeth that lined her mouth. Her hair was brown and hung limply, cut a bit below her chin. Her eyes were a brown shade, dark and lifeless. She was lithe, with endless scars littering across her body.
She wore a black tank top and plants, the cloth hugging her body. Her posture was rigid and straight, and her expression was kept blank.
"You'll meet the rest of your squad soon. But first, you'll be speaking to our main asset, the researcher." She nodded.
–-----
She was looking at her fathers face, his new one. Or–, his real face, depending on who you ask. Blue skin splotched with white, reminiscent of stars. Blue stripes lined his body, the same way they did for every Omaticaya. His hair was buzzed short, with only a long braid behind him. His eyes were wide and yellow, glinting even without any light.
"That's Tommy Sully, our most important researcher. Your assignment is to protect him." He spoke clearly, as if hearing those words weren't like getting hit by a semi. Tommy. Tommy, her dead uncle. Her uncle who is dead. Dead Tommy. That Tommy? The dead uncle? That one?
Her incredulousness apparently made it to her face, as the man laughed. "Get acquainted with him. You'll be spending a lot of time together."
–------
The room stilled as she entered. Brown hair and brown eyes, round cheeeeeks----cheek. Why was she missing a cheek? Where is her eyebrow?
"Uncle?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper, like speaking his name alone would cause him to disappear. "Lily?" He asked back, just as unsure. "What're you doing here?" He continued, pushing himself off the table. "I work here now," she responded, "What're you doing here?" He paused as he approached her. "I also work here."
She shook her head. "No, I mean what're you doing here. How are you here?" Her voice cracked at the end. Slowly, he took a knee, even leaning down towards her so they'd be on eye level. "Remember how I told you and your sister that one day I would come back as a zombie and eat your brains?" She shuddered, but otherwise stayed silent. "Well, I wasn't joking. I'm basically a zombie in a na'vi body. Except I don't eat brains." He explained. "At least, not yet."
She smiled at that. Her eyes were glossy, and her bottom lip wobbled just slightly. Gently, he pulled her towards him, wrapping his now enormous arms (was he made with muscle?) Around her. She buried her face into her shoulder, sobs seeming to wrack her frame. Even though she was an adult now, she felt just like a little girl in his arms.
"Hey," he said softly, "It's okay, it's okay. I'm here now." He rubbed soft circles into her back, not particularly knowing what to do. "Not goin' anywhere, Bumblebee. I promise." She was Bumblebee, and her sister was Ladybug. They were his 2 favourite bugs when he was learning about insect species on earth. He named his 2 favourite girls after them as well.
"I missed you." She said through her tears, pulling away from him. With warm hands, he wiped them away. "Missed you too. Heaven was pretty boring, really needed someone trying to bite my ankles all the time." That managed to get a laugh out of her. "Yeah right. I think being on fire and getting poked with a pitchfork was enough." He gasped dramatically.
"We should go. You have your research to get back to," she said, "and I have to make sure you don't die while doing it." He laughed as he pinched her cheek, pulling lightly. "Aww, are you my bodyguard now?" He asked teasingly. "What about the others? Are they here?" He asked curiously, a light smile on his face.
Said smile disappeared quite soon at her reaction. She was stiff and rigid, and all of a sudden she couldn't look him in the eye. "Lils?" He asked. With a shuddering breath, she turned her sad gaze towards him. "I–," she seemed to struggle with herself, debating, before relenting, "I think you should sit down, please."
With trudging steps, he sat down on the table he awoke on. Lily took a deep breath, taking his hands into her own and wrapping hers around them, as if trying to shield them. "They're……They're gone. Forever." She swallowed hard, keeping her eyes trained on him. He didn't understand. Gone? Gone, as in they're on another planet? Gone as in…..permanent gone?
"It was so long ago. These people, they broke into our house and they…" she shuddered, squeezing his hand. "I was the only one who escaped. That's why I look like this now." She gestured towards her face.
The words didn't compute. People broke in? Why? His family didn't have any money or valuables. Sure they lived in a dangerous neighbourhood, but these days, everywhere was dangerous! So why–, why? Why his family? Why, when he just gets back, are they gone? This wasn't fair, it didn't make sense.
"Why?" He managed, the words slipping out in a pained whisper. She flinched slightly. "Jake did some things on Pandora. I guess it was about revenge." She answered, and though sad, she sounded sure of herself. However, Jake? What would Jake be doing on Pandora? Is he still here? Was he spared from whatever their family went through? Did he look after Lily?
"I–, I don't understand," he whispered, squeezing her hand right back, "What's Jake doing here? Why didn't he also come? What did he do?" Questions rattled off his tongue. For the first time since he's been alive in this body, he feels like he can't breathe. It doesn't feel real, not at all. His family couldn't be dead. It couldn't be Jake's fault. It couldn't, it couldn't, it couldn't!
"Jake went to Pandora after you died. Something about an avatar. I don't really know what happened, but he started a war with the RDA and made them leave. He's kind of their leader now."
That left him with more questions. Jake started a war? Did he join the Omaticaya? How? They were a pretty exclusive people, as far as letting outsiders known for their murderous intent into their clan goes. Last he heard, Dr Grace, even with the whole school thing, could barely make relations smoother. Speaking of her, where is she? She wasn't part of the recom program, but she was part of avatar. Her body would be the most heavily protected out of all of them due to her being the head researcher and the only one making major progress with the Na'vi.
"Maybe you should lie down. No one's expecting you to do anything after you just got…remade?" She suggested, though sounded unsure of the last bit. Following her advice, he pressed his back against the table. He closed his eyes because God, do bright lights burn. The room remained silent for a while.
"So I guess that since today is your first day in this body," she said as she leaned over to look at him. "Today's your literal birth day. Does that make me older?" She broke the silence, and Tommy offered her a tired smile and a flick to the forehead. "No, today is my rebirth day. Still older." She pouted. "Think about this logically. You were born today–", he cuts her off, "I existed before today so I wasn't actually–"
–-------
Jake Sully looked over the horizon. The forest was a vast expanse of green beneath the sky, slowly coming to life as the slumbering creatures awoke. The sky was a pale blue as Alpha Centauri made her appearance. The night sky gave way to a beautiful, peaceful early morning. At times like these, he was thankful to wake up so early.
"Ma Jake?" Whispered Neytiri from behind him. "What are you thinking of?" She asked, wrapping her slender arms around his waist and placing her head on his shoulder. "Nothing, really," He responded, "I just have a weird feeling about today."

Is Spider human body dying? If that’s the case then mama Neytrir and the rest of the fam would then feel like getting the boy an avatar is there only option to save him. And when it’s finally made they befo wouldn’t wast time to get him into the avatar body. But image when he wakes up and he’s just really out of it( he’s kinda just a little bit drunk at first). While everyone is crying for joy and Neytiri just takes him into her arms while Jake holds his hands while moving his hair out of his face, while everyone else is just either crying for joy for just partying.
meanwhile Spiders just like: o m g IM BLUE AND TALL.
(I apologize in advance, I got really technical and drawn out, cause autism or something, lol)
spiders body was left too weak and damaged after such a traumatic injury (they tend to use bigger guns with bigger bullets on the na'vi, so it was a lot for such a tiny body), the amount of blood loss, and the after effects of such an injury (infection, organ function complications, etc.). there was little chance he would wake up and his body, more specifically his mind, didn't take well to being in a coma. some people can 'fade' as a result of being in a coma, and more specifically, being locked in an unconscious body out of their control. this can cause both mental and physical shutdown, which would be devastating to watch, as little can be done for it besides putting him on more and more forms of life support. (don't mind me, I hyperfixated on medicine for years, I know too much)
so the rush to make spider an avatar would be kinda hectic because they're trying to beat the ever-ticking countdown before spider has shut down past the point that he could be placed into an avatar safely, let alone, pass through the eye of Eywa. aside from getting eh actual materials to make an avatar, there's the grow time itself; assuming it takes 3-5 years (they say 3 years ship time 5 years earth time, I'm not physics smart, I don't know what that means) to grow an avatar to around 20ish years old, it would take 2 or 3 to grow one around spider's age. that's 2 or 3 year they barely have, let alone the time to gether materials.
so to say that the sully's are an emotional wreck is an understatement. neytiri has to face that fact this could all be for nothing. the danger her family pus themselves through, raiding the RDA, moving materials, tracking labs and transits; the time, effort, and supplies taken from the scientists that still remained on their side; the stress she was putting herself and her kids through. it could all be for nothing, she may still lose her child, her baby.
jake, and subsequently neteyam and lo'ak putting themselves through hell on raids, all while stressing about their child. having to pick between being out in the field or being home; being in the field gives them a better chance of bring home the materials they need, but they have to give up what might be the last little bit of time they have with their son/brother. stay home, and they guarantee his demise. no father nor brother should ever have to make that choice.
kiri and tuk have to watch both their brother and mother fade away, withering. they know that if he does die, they won't just be losing him, they'll be losing her as well.
all in all, its a rough time, for all of them. years knowing spider is stuck just beyond a hazy wall out of their reach, knowing that they might have been too late from the start, watching all the little moving parts come together and praying that it all ends well.
and finally, by the grace of Eywa, the avatar is complete; its young, they didn't want to risk pushing spider any farther, so its only 13/14ish but its more then enough for them, and they assume spider won't be too miffed about it.
the transfer was stressful, his brain activity was good, but max and norm are not the best when it comes to whispering, so they all get a nice loud and clear message that there's still a chance for it all to go wrong in a split second. they watch with bitten lips and trembling hands grasping to one another (they use the avatar pods the first time round, cause y'know, taking a person in a coma, underwater, to use the spirit tree... not the best idea, especially when you don't know exactly what's gonna happen). but as soon as the machine starts going and no one's voice gets particularly anxious as they bark instructions and information at one another, it feels like the weight it lifting off their shoulders, and when the sounds stop and the na'vi body on the other side of the glass window starts shifting its like they can all breath again, they have their boy back, their baby.
then its only a matter of keeping neytiri back long enough for the science pukes to do what they need to, which is completely unsuccessful. then theirs a chorus of moaning and groaning from the kids as neytiri and jake are allowed to be with spider as he wakes up and they're not ("it's just a safety concern" max, probably. "well you can stick your 'safety concern' up my a-" tuk, probably, she's a big girl now).
its definitly a lot on spider, he's been stuck in his own head for like, 4 or 5 years, now he's in a whole new, blue, body. he comes into the world hearing his mother's cries and feeling his dads hands practically holding him together. its nice, even if he has no idea what's happening.
neytiri pets at his hair and lets her fingers run over his features, kissing his forehead and holding onto his hand as he started to weakly wiggle his fingers; reminding jake of his first time waking up. jake was too busy feeling his sons unaided breath going in and out of his chest where his palm rested, feeling a heart beating stronger than it had in years, watching his eyes flutter as he adjusted to the light. such little things felt like blessings.
eventually spiders able to figure everything out enough to just let a breathy little "oh shit" out, earning a laugh from his dad. he hears his mom smack him, laughs a little himself, he missed this. then that hits him, it must have been a long time since... since he almost died, his family's probably been waiting on him for a while, his mama's been waiting for him.
he's clumsy like a newborn baby, but he turns to where he's pretty sure his mom is sitting, curling into her as she wraps him in her arms. she missed this, feeling him move under her arms, not lying against her still and lifeless. this was nice, this was good, this was right.
and after a while of laying against his mama he hears movement, and talking, so much talking. he's barely even awake but he knows that all his siblings have gathered around him. his dad's attempt to fend them from smothering him fail; he's got tuk in his lap, kiri wrapped around his shoulders, both of his brothers were close by, lo'ak at the end of the bed, neteyam at the head with his hand in spider's hair.
he feels loved and it feels fucking fantastic, he's been getting bits and pieces of his family's affections over eywa only knows how long, so to be touched and loved on and talked to, it feels great. he soaked it all up, letting it bring him fully into his body.
as his sight and hearing clear up he finally gets a good look at his family; neteyam is all grown up and a carbon copy of their mama, lo'ak looked just like jake too, tuk was almost all grown up, he missed so much of her childhood, and kiri looked like grace, full of piss and vinegar yet so beautiful, one with the great mother and nature and him, his heart. his siblings had changed so much, in all fairness he had too, but he felt like he had been robbed of so much, they had been robbed of him.
he looked to his parents, the white strands in his mother's hair, tattling on the stress she was trying to hide with her bright smiles. jakes eyes were tired, his face held more lines in it, and his shoulders sagged.
they'd been through enough, him, his family, his people, so he was going to take this new body and new chance at life with stride and pray that eywa would be good to them.
"I'm fucking blue motherfuckers," he announced, finally pulling himself up to sit, getting his brothers all riled up and a tired shake of the head from kiri.
"yeah your fucking blue, now relax before you upset norm and max, mama might kill them if they try and take away visitation rights." kiri scolds, gently of course.
he mocked a yeah yeah, attempting to flick his tail at her, with no avail.
"hey dad, is this what it felt like when you first used your avatar? all mushy and weird." he turns to look at jake, completely and blissfully unaware of the bomb he's about to drop on jake.
"yeah kiddo, but you break it in a bit and it feels normal," he looked... happy, but sad.
dad
oh, fuck... thats the first time jake had heard him say that since that day.
"wanna take it for a spin kid? with your mama's permission of course..." his eyes anxiously scanned his mates face, clearly trying to distract both of them from the mental trip they just went on.
he felt his mom wrap around him tighter, hissing a bit before relenting, "10 minutes jake, or so help me," the threat rumbled low in her core, she would have her baby returned to her in 10 minutes or the only person who could protect jake was Eywa herself.
"got it, come on kid, up on your feet," jake ordered in that stupid fake military voice he'd used since they were kids, holding out a hand, pulling spider to his brand new feet with ease.
his siblings jumped up to follow, kiri and tuk dragging their mother along, and for the first time ever, he went outside and breathed the air of his people without a mask or pain, he could trot along with his siblings, and his senses were razor sharp.
his mother stayed close, keeping a hand in his hair, guiding him with her tail as if he truly was a newborn. her smiles was worth it though, bright and relieved as she watched her children and mate finally finding peace. his siblings dancing around him, lo'ak and tuk in particular while neteyam and kiri watch on feigning disappointment.
he could get used to this, he will get used to this.

MORE DEJA BLU BRAINROT
Disney Lyrics//Avatar Fanfic Scenes
Na'Vi Original Female Character teaching the Deju Blu squad about Eywa'eveng (Pandora), and they keep messing around because they're all academically-challenged goofballs.
She gets pissed off and decides to fuck it and sprint into the forest, while the squad rushes to catch up. She is quicker and more agile within the trees but she's purposely leading them to the Tree Of Souls, where many atokirina have gathered.
"You think you own whatever land you land on. Eywa'eveng is just a dead thing you can claim." She lets one of the woodsprites land in her cupped hands before gently guiding it to Miles, who is already wide-eyed and staring at her. "But I know every rock and tree and creature." Viperwolves chirp and howl from the trees around them, Hexapede herds are grazing nearby, and somewhere deep in the Pandoran forest, a Thanator has begun it's nightly prowl.
"Has a life, has a spirit, has a name." The forest comes alive as eclipse finally begins, sending bursts of colour all throughout the flora. The squad is painfully reminded of all that they have destroyed as they each hold a precious atokirina in their hands.
"You think the only people who are people, are the people who look and think like you." She bends down to sit in front of the semi-circle the recoms have created, drawing detailed figures of her family and those who have come before in the soft dirt. "But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never you never knew."
She pulls them all up onto their feet and sets off again, this time towards where their Ikran are resting. She connects with her own and lifts into the sky, leaving the recoms to awkwardly scramble onto their own. Miles sits atop Cupcake (teehee) and lets himself relax, the wind ruffling through his short-cut hair, sending shivers down his spine. As he soars beside her, staring longingly as she opens her arms wide, her legs the only thing stopping her from tumbling to the ground, he thinks he sees it. He thinks he sees Eywa'eveng for all that is is, not just a planet for the RDA to destroy, but a living home for all of it's inhabitants. And he was now one of them.
"Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest, come taste the sunsweet berries of the earth." She invites him closer as they touch down on one of the many floating islands, the recom squad so far behind he can't even hear they're yelling anymore. She holds his hands close to her chest "Come roll in all the riches all around you. And for once, never wonder what they're worth."
"The rainstorm and the river are my brothers, the animals and the plants are my friends." She steps away from him, creating a gaping hole between them. A silent question in her eyes. "And we are all connected to each other, in a circle, in a hoop that never ends."
"If you end it, then you'll never know. You'll never the hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon, for whether we are blue or pale skinned."
Miles lets out an irritated sigh, wondering how in the fuck he got to this place. But he can't ignore the woman in front of him, and the planet he's decided to call home. And stupid Sully who's now going to have to wait for Miles to kill him.
She waits, and waits, and waits for him to say what she wants to hear. As the moment stretches so long it's about to snap, he finally opens his mouth.
"We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains. We need to paint with all the colours of the wind."
