the book looks a lot cuter than i was expecting lol

#what scares me though is how small it is #I've never read them in English but my siblings did #so we had it and i am aware of how thick the book was #and this is like maybe 1/3 #which makes sense with the syllable blocks condensing the writing and the way the grammar works #but what that made me realize #is that anything written originally in korean is approximately 3 times as long as the equivalent sized book in English #and the poetry book is thus ENORMOUS

i keep thinking about this guy who came into my work today and he wasn’t really like conventionally attractive but he had the most adorable features ive ever seen on an adult. his face and his body looked soft and round and he had giant brown eyes like a calf. clearest shiniest skin i’ve ever seen on a man and shy pouty lips and his cheeks were like naturally very ruddy he looked almost cherubic. was very soft spoken and thanked me profusely; tipped me 5 dollars after i talked him up. he was such a doll-like person, from appearances at least — truly the highlight of an otherwise incredibly shitty day. i’d keep him in my purse like a sonny angel figurine

Western kpop stans need to stop expecting Korean artists to speak English perfectly. Unless they're fluent, or it's an easier phrase, they're not going to speak English completely perfectly, and that's absolutely fine and okay. It's a different language with a different alphabet. It should be accepted that non-native English speakers will get some words and phrases wrong, and it's okay.

#yes this is from everyone and their mother who is saying soyeon needs to write in perfect english #she is korean not english/american/whatever. it is not her native language.#she has a thick accent (like many many idols) and pronounces a lot of English words in the Korean way #and that does not warrant the MASS criticism by kpop stans my god #(g)idle #gidle #idle #soyeon
