To a point i dont like how much exposistion TBK has but i get a little jealous we dont have this for rodya. However.
#floyd.txt#it depends on how its handled but sometimes it is a lot at once but i am a fan of spreading it out. fun!#i wish the crime notebooks had every detail about rodyas life for me at least#it doesnt matter i have the power of imagination. tell me. im going to communicate with dostos ghost#even if not written down if you ever write and make characters you know you end up having lore that may never be mentioned#tell me everything sir#ive occasionally seen people think there was an Incident when he was 15 and this half makes me curious#but half With the context it sounds like it was just something with his personality rather than something Major. though i dont know#perhaps when he lost his father#it could make sense... rereading it now it just sounds like he got a little more withdrawn perhaps#which could easily track with such a loss. i dont believe we know exactly when that occured right? ya...#thinking...i miss rodya...

How experienced are they and would you finish
Nsfw themes!
Dante has no idea if they are experienced or not so they are pretty much ruled a virgin until further notice. They didn't forget everything but they still manage to stress over getting something wrong. They’re clumsy and stressed out the first few times, but receptive to feedback. Just kind of too frantic to really follow through on it fully. If you're really into them, finishing is not out of the question, they are trying really hard. But the situation is really hard to navigate for them. They do care about you finishing more than getting to a climax themselves. Something about being constantly conditioned to be seen as a mere tool does that to a person
I firmly believe Ishmael has the knowledge surpassing all humanity when it comes to that area. Being on the sea does that to a person. So she knows exactly what to do and though she might judge you a bit (or at least tease you), she will go along with your fantasies and needs. There is not a thing that she wouldn't at least consider. And so you will have no problem finishing
I'm sorry but Heathcliff, to me, has not had sex. Ever. He’s not very experienced to put it lightly and im low-key bordering on making a claim here that you would probably have to put it in for him. He’s far to repressed/sexually frustrated and inexperienced not to miss the hole (either hole, really). But! He is certainly… eager. And wants to please you. To treat you good. Might be a leftover from his past, the same thing that I mentioned in the skinny dipping headcanons. So, while it would be clumsy sex for sure, he would do his best to make you orgasm. Make sure to praise him when you do, it'll make him very proud
Well, I would assume that Meursault fucked? I think he has decent experience and enough of deeply buried desires to be decent in bed. No problems with making you finish either
Rodya is a bit tricky because despite being experienced and knowing what to do with herself, your orgasm really depends on who you are to her. In sexual encounters she prioritizes herself. Learned that from an early age. If she won't take care of her needs, nobody will. So she might as well lead sex in such a way that satisfies her. If you're a drunken one night stand or she's not ready to consider you as a permanent part of her life, sex life included, she will do everything to finish herself. You're just along for the ride. Nothing personal, its not like she would do anything to prevent you from reaching the climax. But before a certain level of commitment, she wouldn't see it as a priority
Don also has a solid amount of experience. She does her best so that both of you finish, since she thinks that's just fair. And way more fun for her to be honest
With Ryoshu it’s 50/50 because I think she definitely had sexual encounters before. She’s a bit rusty though, since she hasn't had sex in a bit. You finishing is more so about what you're into because, just as she is with the act of killing, this too is art for her. She doesn't do quickies, doesn't do fast, desperate spikes of desire. The act of sleeping together is an experience she wants to live through fully and thus, there's a lot she will do before letting you come
Hong Lu is a mystery to me. I mean… he definitely isn't a virgin but im not sure how many sexual encounters that man had had. It could go anywhere between 3 and 300 and it wouldn't be any more surprising to me. But I think his willingness to try out your suggestions and openness to go with the flow would definitely make it easier for you to come. Like, if the current position isn't doing it for you, he’ll switch no problem, searching for a way to also give you pleasure. Sure, it’s a new concept for him. To not be the sole center of things. But he goes with the flow easily. It’s just a fun switch up for him to take a more active role
Outis fucked. And definitely made love too, but that was before the war took its toll on her. She's more familiar with quickies these days. If she actually puts you somewhere high in the hierarchy, she’ll do her best to please you. But if you're just ‘the best thing there was’ don't expect her to try hard. If you don't come she might actually act disappointed in you honestly. Are you really going to make her do all the work? She did her part, it’s on you if you didn't orgasm
With Faust it’s a bit unclear because I can't really see her seeking out sex too often but also like… she is a woman of science, she definitely tried in the very least. So she isn't totally inexperienced but making advances on someone to sleep with them is not an initiative she often takes, I think. Her actual skills might be a bit lacking but again, she has knowledge, so she’s definitely got a rough idea as to what she’s supposed to do to make you finish. I do see her as a more passive party in general, though
I might be a bit rough at writing Yi Sang. In my head, he definitely has had some sex, more than most would assume. But it’s not a very recent thing for him either. Not a very distant memory but there was a little break he had since the last time he had sex. Don't think about what I could be implying too hard (especially since I'm not sure how that would work physically). His skills are pretty good and the ability to just go along with things definitely helps. So in the end you have a pretty good chance at finishing. He’s not the best on the bus, but the probability is pretty high
Oh, it’s a bit tricky with Greg. If he were just an average soldier, he would have a much more extensive list of experiences. But as the “poster boy” it’s less likely that he got to have some undetected casual sex on the side. I mean, historically speaking, it’s not uncommon for those that have to partake in wars to blow off steam in such way. He wasn't an average soldier though so it hindered such possibility for him. And to sleep with a civilian after he got out… well he probably tried. Maybe succeeded once or twice. But even that is up for debate. He’s way too repulsed by his own body and even more scared of that same body acting up. So he’s very nervous and clumsy, restraining himself for a very long time. He feels like he has to “make it up to you” (and by ‘it’ I mean having sex with him, he see that as a charity case kind of situation) so he will do his best to make you finish. He lacks a lot of stamina and experience though. Feels awful if he doesn't make you come and does wonder if a part of it is because of his physique. Especially since it's not that hard to make him finish so he doesn't like when he doesn't manage to return the favour
Now I firmly believe Sinclair is a virgin. I think he and Heathcliff could be in competition for the place of the least experienced. And given Heath’s past, Sinclair would win, I recon. There are two possible routes sex with him could take. Most likely is a nervous, shirt-on encounter born out of pure hornyness that often overcomes him. There is a possibility that his anger issues aid him and he takes more initiative (while making things definitely more rough). In both cases he’s going to be clumsy, sexually frustrated and very fast to finish. You on the other hand… have less of a chance to do the same. Post nut clarity hits him hard and he will grow silent and distant, withdrawing whilst letting his insecurity flood his brain with double the force
#the difference is Heath would miss the hole repeatedly while Emil just lets you guide him from the start#not that he can't take initiative#he would just die if he missed#i don't think the ‘insecurity’ part is him being like cute and blushy#he just withdraws and covers himself up further with a blanket#disgusted with himself. silent#religious guilt and self deprecation will do that for you#limbus company headcanons#limbus x reader#limbus company x reader#limbus headcanons#limbus sinclair#limbus heathcliff#limbus don quixote#limbus hong lu#limbus meursault#limbus ishmael#limbus dante#limbus gregor#limbus rodya#limbus ryoshu#limbus yi sang#limbus faust#limbus outis

Rodigor but consider:
>Rodion sees a lot of herself in Gregor, the person she's most similar to but is ashamed to admit it.
>Gregor doesn't realize Rodion has been flirting with him this whole time he just thinks all that teasing is just her bullying him.
#raskolnikov in the books seems like he is similar to gregor#sad little decrepit wet cat of a man#that was just rodya pre-transition#but also gregor is DEEP in that self-loathing and doesn't think he'd be missed if he died#but also rodya. babe. please open up to him so he at least knows you commisserate him instead of just teasing.#you gotta open up with the whole bus but please gregor would appreciate it most i pinky swear

I feel like a lot of people miss one thing in Rodigor dynamic
Let's start with a little bit off topic, just so I can get that out of my system: Rodya knows Gregor's boundaries and doesn't overstep them. In fact, her teasing towards him is way softer. Gregor allows Rodya way more than he allows others. Plus, he couple of times teased her too (but more often than not he just ignores her attempts to get under his skin)
Now, let's assume they fell in love at the same time. And a lot of people think that Gregor would be the anxious lovesick one, desperate for Rodya's attention while she just uses him to get the praises she needs
But, what people miss is that Gregor wouldn't be like that. You see, the only thing he knows is to accept and adapt. No matter how strong his feelings would be, Gregor would very quickly find a way to just accept it as a fact and move on with his life. Just remember how he reacted to Yuri's death: he very quickly got over. How fast he just calms down in stressful situations (just remember Canto 1). Same thing with love. Gregor wants connections with people but still holds them at arms length, not hoping to build any relationships with them (Angela reference hehe ((they are WAY too similar, my god))
On top of everything he doesn't know what he's losing, thus it's easier for him to let go. Why would he try to hold onto love if he doesn't know what it's like?
In fact, Rodya would be the anxious one. A lot of people, sadly, miss the detail that Rodya's not good at hiding her fear and anxiety (in snake inquisitor's ((or whatever he's called)) logs she mentioned how she cried from the fear). That's the main reason her story even happened (otherwise she would've just go on with her life after murder). Rodya is not morally strong, that's the entire point. Plus, she doesn't have experience with acceptance, that's her main struggle as a character: she's stuck in denial, not knowing what to do with her emotions and how to get out. She's been running away from her feelings, not accepting them like Gregor. If it is like that for one emotion, why wouldn't it be like that for the other one?
Plus, one thing that seemingly everyone missed: during April Fools event Rodya specifically said that she feels iffy around Gregor, because she doesn't know what to expect from him. Let's not get into why exactly she feels that way (because I have a lot to say about it), but I brought that up because she said it herself: she's uncomfortable around him. And yet she's helplessly drawn to him
In conclusion, I see their dynamic like that: Rodya's helplessly in love, but due to her own insecurities, she doesn't understand what to do with those feelings and does what she always did - covers it with a joke. Gregor is in love too, but due to his trauma and cynical worldview, he can't allow himself to open up to her, constantly trying to push away his emotions like he always did. And most likely succeeding, unlike Rodya

removed from any shipping its genuinely notable to me that rodya seemingly latches on to gregor from the start. of course shes doing her little facade (and if you go back to the earlier episodes now, its a lot more egregious and easier to notice) but its curious that out of any of the sinners, its him she actively chooses to interact with and drop a nickname on first
shes very very teasing especially initially and seems to target him for his arm, a lot of her comments being based on him being bugmoded. it honestly could look cruel especially with the full context we have now, though notably these do all take place pre-gregor revelations, but if you jump to this being a signifier of rodya bullying/wanting to get actual pain or upset out of gregor you'd have to skip over this scene
which is both silly but also i feel pretty significant for understanding something about the two of them and their relationship:
gregor is not actually a helpless pushover who lets himself be walked over and he will speak up if a line is crossed for him
rodya can read and understand when he's distressed, gets hesitant and will back off. her intention is not actual upset from gregor
what's important to me in my read of rodya is that she does have a facade, deliberately to be charming and likable, but i dont think her buttonpushing/ragging on of gregor (and later the other sinners) is actually entirely part of that, i think its the opposite. showing real honest affection is something difficult to her, so she skips a few steps and jumps straight into poking fun like you would with someone youve known a long time.
I think her "true" personality isn't cold and calculative, from further story context i interpret it as more jaded and sarcastic. these moments to me read as a sort of fumble or early mask slip, she's not baring it all with these bits but she has singled out gregor in her mind and is particularly hovering (based on how the majority of both of their interactions throughout are from the very start with eachother) around him, trying to get closer in an awkward way.
I think people miss that theres a lot you can take and learn about rodya from their interactions, whether its because of a focus on shipping or trying to outright deny there is anything going on there at all
#limbus company#rodion#rodya#gregor#Uhhh i hope this reads okay#The guy who hates writing. the writing hater#i try to talk more but i fear i go too far into only saying how i feel/personal meaning when what i try to do with these is look at the tex#And sorry for the commaers the comming commahead#regular disclaimer that rodya exists outside of whoever you ship her with particularly if its a man#alas when the majority of her interactions are with this guy well i basicaly gotta look. its intended on someones part for better or worse#I have more to say and was originally gonna be a longer post but i sound too gay already goodnight beautifuls

Played the Nocturnal Sweeping Intervallo and one thing stuck out to me like a sore bellend. (Spoilers ahead!)
The narrative is suddenly scathingly mean to Heathcliff.
And not in a good way. The other Sinners continue to imply he's unintelligent, which has been repeatedly brought up in Canto 6 as a way to demean him. While there were also mean-spirited comments in LCB Check-up, I hoped that it was a one-off occurrence.
Nope. In Nocturnal Sweeping, they kick it up by having the Sinners collectively excuse physical violence to shut him up - after he spoke up indignantly on behalf of Vergilius. Several of them take the stance that Heathcliff should have kept his voice down, but it's so uncharacteristically mean that Dante comments on it inwardly.
Which means it's happening on purpose - possibly for a narrative later down the line. Of course, with how Limbus utilizes foreshadowing, I would argue that this is the case. Much like Timekilling Time delving deeper into Rodya's insecurities, a future Intervallo may have Heathcliff snap from the constant misunderstandings and prodding.
That is the best faith reading of all this sudden picking-on-Heathcliff business. And I still think it sucks.
Post-Canto 6 Heathcliff suffers from the exact same fate Canto 6 did. He suffers endlessly, with very little support from people around him - and the payoff is just not cathartic or satisfying relative to his suffering. Heathcliff is continuously mocked, berated, abused throughout his life. He leaves, comes back, and is subject to mistreatment once more. The Sinners don't back him up. He distorts. Still trudges on.
What does he get in return? No bough. His childhood butler betraying him. His lover deleted from existence. The Sinners, all witnesses to each other's trauma and healing, remembering jack fuck all about his trauma and stepping on his wounds constantly.
Canto 6 and its aftermath can hardly be called cathartic. Post-Intervallo Heathcliff suffers from this, but worse - he's come to love his colleagues, outright considering them a found family. What he gets in return is a mean-spirited comment every new event, and now actual violence.
The canonical victim of severe childhood abuse being subject to slapstick violence hardly leaves a pleasant aftertaste. But another crucial point remains - it reflects badly on the other Sinners. While Ishmael's shortness is not out of character, her most recent comments questionable at best, it still makes her look bad on a narrative level. Heathcliff pulls her out of her literal shell of despair, respecting her as a seafarer and teammate. What do they make her do in return? Continue to jab at him, miss every opportunity to parallel his symbolic action of "pulling her out of despair".
While Ryoshu's violent tendencies are hardly OOC, and Rodya's irritation at Heathcliff's loud ranting may be justified, it still serves the narrative purpose of several colleagues pinpointing Heathcliff as an issue that needs fixing. In a violent manner, no less. While several reasonings can be made to justify their individual actions (the memory wipe, misunderstandings of Canto 6 events, foreshadowing...), it does not change the simple facts of the matter. Heathcliff, forced to live on bare minimum for most of his life, is being mistreated by the closest people in his life.
I do not like seeing my favourite characters treat another favourite character in such manner.
I enjoyed Heathcliff and Ishmael beefing in SEA. I enjoyed Outis and Ishmael bitching at each other in Canto 5. I loved seeing Rodya crash out and lash out in TKT. I like character conflict and unlikeable personality clashes when it is written well.
Heathcliff's treatment feels like a one-sided beatdown, played for laughs rather than addressing Sinner conflicts. Instead of having two Sinners creating friction with one another (Much like Ishmael and Heathcliff up to Canto 5), it's several Sinners being written into scenes that end with Heathcliff as the punchline. I do not see the need for this. I do not see how all of these scenes will accumulate into a satisfying Intervallo where they are tied together. Rather, it feels like waiting for Heathcliff's inevitable Canto 6 distortion while nobody stood up to his abusers.
I genuinely hope that Canto 8 will lay off on Heathcliff - I love Sinner camaraderie, and everything in the Intervallo bar this issue has laid the groundwork for some amazing interactions.

Just had some thoughts as I pondered themes in Limbus Company.
Wild that Blade Lineage Don Quixote's past is essentially just Expulsion From La Manchaland 2: Electric Boogaloo. Follow someone you think could change the world for the better (Don Quixote/the S Corp Councilman), they're attacked and effectively killed, you get expelled from your homeland (La Manchaland/S Corp), you forget your original motivations and become something different (literal amnesia/losing heroic motivations and instead embracing a love of violence).
Dante's head is absolutely some sort of magical special artifact, because Dante was given K Corp Healing Ampoules at the end of Canto 3, which are literally able to regrow lost limbs and bring you to the peak of health, yet their head remains missing. (I mean we already knew there was something fucky going on with Dante's head since they shrugged off being beheaded and ran off to put on a prosthetic without any assistance but still)
I've thought about this before, but it kinda seems like the N Corp Identities all belong to people with themes of "being non-human", either literally, socially, or metaphorically; Meursault and Heathcliff both face dehumanization due to their seeming lack of emotion and poor origins respectively, Don Quixote's a vampire, Faust's probably a homunculus, Rodya considers herself an Ubermensch (above humanity), and Sinclair was on the brink of being robotized before Kromer killed his family. Notably, Gregor doesn't get an N Corp Identity since from their religious obsession with Abnormalities, Distortion, and Corrosion, N Corp doesn't think that having your flesh warped into something else makes you non-human, with the same also potentially being said of why Ishmael doesn't get one despite all the mermaid themes.

hi, i read your post about the relationship between gregor and rodion. in it there's a paragraph mentioning your position regarding canto ii. could you please elaborate more on that (apologies if you've already written that post and i simply failed to find it)? i would love to read your analysis of canto ii.
thank you!!
i promise i will be getting to making a better more thought out version of this post Eventually i am just not in the headspace to write a big fuckoff post about it right now lmao.
tl;dr my thoughts are that there's an intentionality to c2's light and flippant tone because rodya herself uses her devil may care front as a way to avoid really digging into her issues and taking the time to self reflect and grow as a person, so c2 Needed to be more lighthearted and indirect w/ its content because otherwise future rodya developments wouldn't hit anywhere near as hard. rodya putting up walls and explicitly running away from her bullshit (in the most literal way possible thanks to baba yaga) is The Point and the fact that so many people seem to miss that for the sake of "oh but TKT gave her more development so it's better!" is Wild to me. yes TKT is good i love TKT but i don't think it'd carry the same weight if we didn't get the c2 we did before it to help establish The Way Rodya Is first
#beargregor's property#limbus company#project moon#lcb rodion#something to bear in mind#rodya my beloved you suck so much ass and are generally the worst#i must kill her with hammers also

Could I please request a Sinclair x reader where the reader is extremely upset about it being their turn to face their past and Sinclair tries to calm the reader down?
SINCLAIR COMFORTING YOU DURING YOUR BOUGH.
consider leaving a tip! https://ko-fi.com/leviathanluvr#linkModal
( the reader is based around lapvona. it's not classic lit but it's what i could think of. so..!! )
emil sinclair has always been awkward with his affections. when reaching towards you, his hand would always linger in the air, unsure of himself.
he timidly watches you from his peripheral as mephistoles pushes down familiar roads. he doesn't miss the way your breath hitches, shaking pupils unable to tear away from the window. if nobody offered comfort during his canto, how can he trust anyone to help you?
his hand firmly plants on your shoulder, “ l—— let's not.. keep looking, ” he suggests with a placid smile.
“ i.. i can't, ” you croak, guilt swirling in your guts as memories flow.
seeing all that you've left behind makes you feel sick. is your father even on that farm? you remember him on the day when you'd been invited to join limbus company. the man——made drought was getting worse, and worse. he was struggling to put food on the table, and feed the lambs.
when the job was offered, his eyes had lit up. he quickly shoved you towards (REDACTED), eager to get rid of you.
your chest burns as the bus drives through farmland. you burst into tears despite yourself, sinclair pulling you into a proper embrace.
“ i don't.. i don't wanna.. ” you sniffle pathetically, lips trembling.
the other sinners sit awkwardly. rodya and gregor offer you pitying glances as sinclair gently rubs your upper back.
“ it's okay, ” he murmurs, unsure of how to deliver further comforts.
he wishes he could pull the sorrow from your chest like the string from an older sweater. he's sorry. he's sorry that he cannot do anything to relinquish you of this sadness, this fear. for now, he'll just settle on holding you.

Limbus Company theory
Okay, I have absolutely no idea if anyone's noted this yet. Did anyone pick up that the Sinners are held down by a Sin, represented in their EGO, and their Canto are about their struggles against another sin entirely. The branch creates a space for 'penance'. When Rodya entered the field of effect of the branch, Baba Yaga went crazy, freezing the entire mine. There's clearly some paralleling at work here.
So let's go through.
Gregor, Canto 1: Sloth V Gluttony (survival); note that this expedition failed, and we later explore Sloth with Yi Sang
Rodion, Canto 2: Pride V Gloom; note that Rodya refused to actualize
Sinclair, Canto 3: Gluttony (Greed) V Lust
Yi Sang, Canto 4: Sloth V Gluttony (greed); Dante's resonance begins
Ishmael, Canto 5: Gloom V Envy; Dante's resonance progresses
When we look at the dominant sins of the remainder...
Heathcliff, Canto 6: Envy...
Don Quixote, Canto 7: Lust…
Hong Lu, Canto 8: Gloom…
Ryoshu, Canto 9: Wrath…
Meursault, Canto 10: Pride…
Outis, Canto 11: Pride…
Faust, Canto 12: Pride…
Dante, Canto ?: ????
Sins not confronted yet: Sloth, Pride, Wrath
Sinner sins left to explore: Envy, Wrath, Lust (If we're talking strictly what progressed Dante's clock, Gluttony & Pride)
Assuming Dante's doomsday clock setting is moving in 5 minute intervals, Dante currently has 2 positions left on their clock; 5 minutes to midnight and midnight itself. It's made almost explicit that their resonance with sinners is the tool with which they resonate with the branches. By obtaining each sin, they're building to some sort of complete whole.
Predictions based on this theory; Pride being so back-heavy probably means we're going to scramble for branches with Hermann. It gives the impression that for whatever reason Pride is necessary, which is interesting.
My own theory: Rodya says she'll settle in the cold [Gloom] for a little longer, and Sonya says she doesn't have the mark. I'd say this might mean Rodya hasn't sufficiently resonated. Sonya may have tried to bait her in hopes of getting better results in this regard.
This may mean ...
The last few Cantos will be a losing streak (LOL)
Someone who hasn't cleansed themselves of their opposing sin/formed the mark of cain will get the branch; I'd imagine this person shares sins with Dante, Vergilius, or Charon, who I believe are probably Envy, Wrath, and Lust respectively (OOP @ WHO WE'RE MISSING ⬆️)
In that respect Vergilius V Sloth, Charon V Pride, Dante V Wrath. I even think the wrath Dante is opposed to could be Vergilius
Very notable there's only 3 sins missing; it could be possible we already have Dante's branch; they were very obviously part of the group of Cain Marked, and again, their clock started at 25-to-midnight and just kind of sat there for a little while. It's also possible it didn't move until Yi Sang because their sin was Gluttony (ambiguous manifestation)? If Hermann also represents Lust ..... Think about it
Rodya's refusal of the call of Cain might become plot-relevant, just as our failure to observe what happened to Gregor on the myth arc timeline of 3 years ago and relationship with the Big Bad makes it obvious he's going to be a core character in the future. We can tell based on those who have the mark of Cain that he just doesn't have the chops, so mayhaps their mutual exclusion will be a surprise tool that will help us later.
And of course, my theories for the sins that weigh down our remaining Sinners: Heathcliff V Sloth, Don Quixote V Wrath, and Ryoshu V Pride. I predict all the Prides share Rodya's opposing force, which is Gloom; we see this in the books these characters are based on, with Meursault's despair of being sentenced to death being overcome by his Pride, Outis putting herself through grueling trials for the sake of returning to her family, and Faust beginning with suicidal depression leading to her pride creating(summoning) Mephistopheles.
I think it would be pretty funny if Dante was Gretchen's evil baby. Or that Gretchen might have been their previous self, manipulated into giving birth to Dante (extremely vulnerable and exploitable state), which they will be disgusted by and put to death. How many representations of the Divine Feminine in classic literature can Dante represent any% speedrun

Uh hi!! I have never requested for LC so if it's.weirs sounding. Sorry.
Anyways Reader teasing the sinners? (Hc or smth. Whatever works best for you! :D)
No worries! Oh, if you’ve only seen the stuff my irl group left in my inbox /lh /nm /aff this isn’t weird at all! I try to work with hcs when I can, but not specifying that is on me, so until I get around to editing my bio, I suppose I do drabbles n stuff too. Or try haha
UNEDITED
Ryoshu lets out a ‘hmpf’ sound in a what that you can’t really tell if she’s annoyed or amused. She’s considered pretty intimidating by most so it is a bit funny to her to see you acting so bold. Especially when others look at you with disbelief. A few times you could swear the corners of her lips moved upwards. After all, she does enjoy a good quip or any other display of sharp wit. Which then leads to her teasing you right back, though her timing is always unexpected. It’s almost like a little game you two play, seeing where you can push the other one (within reason). And if asked, Ryoshu will shamelessly admit that she enjoys that part of your shared routine
With Rodya it’s a bit hit or miss. It really depends on what you say and it’s hard to read what will get a pass. I mean, to someone who doesn’t pay much mind to her, everything gets a pass. But there are times where you unknowingly will hit a sore spot and her joking demeanour will become a lot more rehearsed. Her main way of avoiding her self conscious thoughts is by making little jabs at others, so don’t be surprised if her ‘silly payback’ stings a bit. Sometimes it’s fine. But it’s not easy to tell if your teasing will make her blush or if it will ruin her day. Her ego, despite the front she puts up, is incredibly fragile and even when you’re innocently teasing her, she might assume you’re looking down on her. Even if she won’t outright say it, you will feel her discomfort shortly after
It’s only a little less unlikely for Don to misconstrue your words. Her love language is very earnest and genuine, so sometimes she just doesn’t get the purpose of your teasing. However, she’s less likely to assume anything bad by it and mostly it gets the desired reaction out of her. Doesn’t really tease you back though, it’s just not her style of affection, I think
You’d think Hong Lu falls somewhere in the similar category but he’s way more witty than he gets credit for and he goes along with your teasing. He sees it as the playful banter it is and when you least expect it he’ll innocently say something to get you just as worked up as you wanted to make him. Always a bit of a (pleasant) “jumpscare” when he does that. Hard to out-tease the lad, but it’s always a good time for both parties when you try :3
Ishmael gives you the most typical reaction. She’s way more used to being the one that does the teasing so when you start with your sillies, she tries to “fight back”. No luck though, you usually get her to flush and there’s no doubt your words affect her. She huffs something out for you to shut up but she’s not very convincing whenever she does so
But if you think Ish reacts strongly, you need to look at Heathcliff. Most times he’ll get absolutely awkward about it. Sure, sometimes he’s a bit oblivious. A bit like when he got offended that Dante thought he frequented clubs. When he was informed that it was a positive kind of comment, he got all awkward and didn’t really know what to do with himself, since that was not the kind of comment he expected to be directed at him. So if you want him worked up and temporarily not-functional, I absolutely recommend teasing the bloke
On a surface level, Faust is not only not affected but not very receptive to your teasing. She responds very matter-of-factly and with the same seriousness in her vacant eyes as if she was announcing the end of your work day. But don’t be fooled. There are occasions where she’ll pull an uno reverse card on you. Responding calmly she’ll inquire about the meaning behind your playful comment until you verbally run into a corner to the point where you’re admitting to the affectionate undertones of your teasing. You don’t even know how she does it. One second you’re being all silly and flirty and the next you’re all surrendered telling her how you like her, getting flustered by her painfully practical approach
The main difference with Outis is that she might genuinely not get it. Her guard’s always up and she’s been restless for so long, without a safe place to call her own, that playful banter almost seems like a luxury she can’t afford. She’s still in the mindset of surviving day to day (I mean… her job doesn’t exactly make it easy to let go of that notion) and you’re so casual with her. It makes her feel like a version of herself she had to bury a long time ago. But because of that contrast, she sometimes needs time to catch your teasing tone. She never assumes you mean anything bad by your comments, she likes you enough to grant you her patience and understanding way more than the others, but it takes up to 3 tries for her to catch the intent of your words. She’s not very good at reading back, but if you want to try flustering her, this is a good start
Then we have Meursault. He just really doesn’t get it. Each comment you make gets a painfully serious response out of him and you can’t really tell if he’s messing with you or if he really doesn’t get it. Knowing him, it might be the latter. Though if your teasing is more of the physical kind, you might affect him a bit. On the inside though, sorry, but he won’t let that kind of feeling you give him affect his “professional approach”
And we’re back to characters you would make an absolute mess out of. This time, the title goes to Dante. They are so used to being a tool and not having people pay much close attention to them (other than examining their changed body) that your teasing takes them by surprise. Add to that the fact that they can be rather awkward at times and you get the picture of your manager being delightfully graceless in their attempts to give any proper reaction or response. A few times your coworkers joked that you broke them. That did not help to make Dante more coherent
Before opening himself up, Yi Sang would be rather defeatist, not engaging much in your silliness. But that changes after he gets some time to grow and heal when the bus leads him to revisit his past. It’s much more easy to get a blush or a faint smile out of him and he might even surprise you with some (quite wordy) responses of his own
The only word to describe Gregor’s reaction is ‘exasperated’. He’s not like, outright mad or anything. Yeah, I mean, you do kind of have to watch not to hit a painful spot, but it’s easier to avoid with him (just no bug stuff and you’re pretty much in the clear) plus, as awful as I feel for saying this, he’s way too defeatist to counter most painful comments too. His main thing though is that he can’t believe how bold and blatant you are. Especially teasing him in this way. Him, out of everyone in the bus. I mean, he can’t call himself a catch and the way he sees it, there are much more attractive, put together and younger people you could be going after. Publically at that. Besides, some things you say are just way bolder than anything he could even say when drunk (or so he tells himself, tipsy Gregor is not as subtle as sober Greg would like to believe). If you knew him less, you could think that the way he sighs and shakes his head is a sign of total rejection, but that’s not the case. To be fair, if he tried to respond properly he would probably be more awkward. Romance is foreign to him and it stresses him out that he can’t really guess what people say in situations like this. The way you know you did good is when he completely goes blank. Honestly, he looks a bit staggered. The one time he did try to make a sound, he sounded like that too-
Lastly, Sinclair is a tough one. Because I don’t think it’s just so cut and dry that I can just say he gets cute and blushy. He’s… eager at heart (he wants to have someone, so having you show interest is definitely big for him) but so inexperienced and anxious, it doesn’t help his case. But he’s also one of the sinners that is used to being seen less-than and his insecurity makes him fear that your teasing might have different implications. He’s been called useless and naive, amongst other things, so many times. And he doesn’t want to be seen as some weak willed pushover. Especially not by you. You don’t think that, do you? He prays you don’t. His work is tough on him as is, it would be a lie to say you aren’t a beacon of light amongst his gore and guilt filled world. You’ve seen how easy it was to get him down when his coworkers made comments about his appearance. So it’s 50/50 with him. He might try to object. Sometimes he might actually come off too strongly. Other times he just fumbles with his words. And sometimes, when he is sure that your comment is definitely a good natured one, he just fumbles in general. Honestly, this is a half joke but I can almost see him blurt out ‘I want you’ in response like one time and then scurry off terrified wishing to never be resurrected again

I've been trying to think of the best Organization XIII Limbus Company au... the Nobodies as LCB sinners would hypothetically be fun, but doesn't really work because the LCB relies on having a group of people of vastly different backgrounds, while the Organization has the majority of them coming from the same place (plus they parallel the Sephirot from LobCorp more than the sinners anyway). the Sinners in an Organization XIII situation might be interesting, though. and then there's Dante. their role in the story is most similar to Roxas's (woke up one day with no memories, was told that they were super important and given a job, everyone is so mean to them) except Dante is the manager so like. au where Dante has a keyblade? au where Dante is leading the Organization members? can't go the other way around because they would Not put a fucking 15-year-old in a manager position in the city. Xemnas leading the sinners though? random character swaps so there's a blend of 'em because the numbers match? but which ones are most interesting? anyway in lieu of actually coming up with anything here's a game I call "I can connect anything in my mind"
#1: Xemnas and Yi Sang - they talk like that… such is all I have to say - miss their friends a lot. Yi Sang got over it thankfully and managed to love his new companions. Xemnas did not
#2: Xigbar and Faust - won't stop hinting about stuff they know that you don't - this is secretly because they've lived several more lifetimes than anyone else
#3: Xaldin and Don Quixote - lances. though Don's lance is actually a lance meant for horseback and Xaldin's... aren't
#4: Vexen and Ryōshū - somewhat disturbing fervor for their craft (science and art respectively) - despite this, is somehow a parent - very bad things happen to the children
#5: Lexaeus and Meursault - the biggest one in the group - very intelligent, but usually defaults to following orders - what if I hit you very hard and you died
#6: Zexion and Hong Lu - um uh uhm Land of Illusion ooooo - raised in a very high-class family but the situation is fucking dire - what are you hiding…
#7: Saïx and Heathcliff - comparable to a wolf but secretly also comparable to a bunny - making envy their entire personality
#8: Axel and Ishmael - their hair being the color of sunset is a significant plot device; at dusk, I think of you - homosexual relations!!!!! - relationship to #7 is. uh. it’s
#9: Demyx and Rodion - act silly but I’m convinced it is only partially genuine and mostly to take attention of their problems (canon for Rodya, speculation for Demyx)
#10: Luxord and Dante - time and gambling go hand in hand babey!! - who the fuck are you. who did you used to be. tell me
#11: Marluxia and Sinclair - imagery that belongs in a stained glass window - this is moreso about Lauriam than Marluxia but: very pleasant but hoo BOY do not make them mad - broooo your gender - ...dare I say something about Cain
#12: Larxene and Outis - WILL say something terribly mean to you and call you a weak little baby - would kill all her teammates for one corn chip. except for one of them
#13: Roxas and Gregor - merely treated as the weapon they wield, both idolized and reviled for it - age 15 forced to kill

if the Sinners got a dog
(below the cut because I actually have a decent amount of thoughts on this)
Outis: one of the only (and possibly THE only) sinners committed to disciplining the dog. She’s a bit perturbed that the dog won’t reliably sit/stay on command because it tends to jump at random intervals instead (Don Quixote’s influence).
Has some belief that if she speaks in a voice that’s authoritative enough, the dog will understand what she’s saying. Is displeased when that doesn’t happen. “Why are you trying to sit on me? No.” “It’s because the dog likes you” “If she likes me she will sit politely on the ground as she is supposed to”
Rodya: She was the one who named the dog, and probably rescued it off of the street, insisting that they should keep the dog at least for a little while. Feeds the dog a bit of whatever the Sinners are having. “That’s not good for dogs!” “A little won’t do her any harm~”
Sinclair: He wasn’t sure what to make of the dog at first (it’s probably not vaccinated, and he only became sure it didn’t have rabies after a couple of days), but he’s pretty fond of it. Whenever he’s in need of company, the dog appears without him needing to say anything. It’s warm, soft, and close, and he definitely thinks of it as a family member. That being said he personally has a steep learning curve of “how to take care of a dog” (if he had one in his previous years then there was probably a butler to take care of it)
Heathcliff: I recently read Wuthering Heights. This gives me reason to suspect that Heathcliff would not be a big fan of the dog, at least at first. He’s fine with it from a distance, but protests to having to touch it (and to having it touch him). I’d imagine that it gets on his good side eventually, though, and he’d probably be one of those people who wants the dog to love him the most out of everyone.
Ryōshū: They weren’t really sure how she would react to the dog at first. She’s currently trying to teach it how to sic. Given the opportunity, she’ll examine the dog’s body. Her efforts of questionable motivation led to the discovery that the dog is missing a tooth.
Gregor: After 5.5, I think it’s safe to say that he’s the “dad with the dog he didn’t want”. He notices that the dog is repulsed by the smell of cigarettes and doesn’t smoke as actively when he’s around it.
Don Quixote: She wants the dog to be her sidekick. She’s taught the dog how to hug (ie how to jump and put its paws on her chest/shoulder), and is hoping to teach the dog how to do some advanced stunts. “Move forth, my companion, and fetch mine lance!” (Dog does nothing)
Yi Sang: The dog is his buddy. He’s a bit concerned about the idea that the dog could be involved in Limbus Company’s business, but has no problem with the idea of teaching the dog some more simple stuff (eg how to track scents and find lost people/things).
Faust: If there’s a City equivalent to a Wikipedia page on dogs, she probably read it. Several times. She wouldn’t say it, but the dog’s capriciousness often confounds her. In lieu of a microchip, she made a tracking collar for the dog.
Meursault: He and the dog share a certain special bond due to his willingness to walk, clean up after, and generally take care of the dog when others don’t feel like it. He’s not necessarily a fan of the whole “spontaneous tackling” thing, but he’s big enough to avoid being pushed over and has few other complaints about the dog. With the lack of interest in training the dog on the bus, he doesn’t see the use of disclosing what he knows about training dogs.
Ishmael: She likes the dog. Walking the dog often brings her mixed feelings, since it reminds her of the other experiences she’s had with being on the end of a guiding rope. She’s figured out that she can derail Heathcliff’s train of thought by invoking the dog, either physically or in name, and she’s greatly enjoying this ability.
Vergilius: He was dubious about the whole “dog on the bus” thing. Since Charon seems to enjoy the dog’s presence, however, he sees no point in objecting to it. He doesn’t dislike dogs, but the fact that anything bad happening to the dog could have catastrophic consequences means he’s always a little on edge around it. If the Sinners weren’t planning on doing their best to take care of it before, they certainly are after receiving some Red Gaze-brand reminders to be responsible pet owners.
Dante: Rewinding dog scratches is a small burden, but please, can SOMEONE cut the dog’s nails? They like the dog, but their clock head doesn’t seem to win them any canine popularity points. They’re both disappointed and relieved that the dog doesn’t count as a thirteenth Sinner.
