Speaking of the process, I would divide it into observation and actual shooting. While observation is constant for me (even if I only have a phone in my pocket), the actual shooting differs from camera to camera. I often shoot in fully manual mode with cameras that have no means of automation, and in low light or complicated conditions it includes metering, then applying the desired settings to the camera controls and only then composing and shooting. . . .
