im so crushed rn because ?!??!? the obscure utena sega saturn game had new anime cutscenes, right? BUT THE ORIGINAL RESOLUTION WAS 240X168!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN .CAK SEGA VIDEO CINEPAK. before converting to a common file type so it can be uploaded to youtube or even any upscale attempt. but there is no upscaling with something like that. the detail literally just ISN’T there. without the uncompressed animation from the devs, it will never look good. even in-game, the cutscenes you do see have an overlay, so they’re literally smaller than the native resolution of the saturn, and THEN, not even every cutscene can play in game!!! i’m pretty sure the losing duel cutscenes went unused, since in game if the duels are lost you get immediate game over without a cutscene or anything. it’s so fucked. i think the only way you’d be able to “upscale” the cutscenes is if you’d manually redraw every frame by hand (which btw, how the FUCK would you do that???) which would take FOREVER even if they recycled as much animation as they possibly could.

I made homemade ricotta cheese gnocchi for the first time!! They are light, fluffy pillows of love and goodness!! ❤️ they cost pennies to make, and they're sooooooo easy to make. I finished cooking them and plating them in less than half an hour. I made the sauce yesterday because it always tastes better the day after making it because it gives it time for the spices to blend. Although they have Parmesan cheese in them, I sprinkled it on top because it tastes great. I can never have enough Parmesan 😋😍 next time, I'm gonna try making gnocchi with potatoes. I think that will be wonderful, too! I, highly, recommend cooking homemade gnocchi. It's easy, cost-effective, nutritious, and delicious. They're, also, very fun to make. In the words of Julia Child.... bon Appétit 😊

"Yeah you kind called super frantic dude."

"Anyways, so exactly 1 year from yesterday I defeated the previous Ghost King, so as per the ancient tradition and law of the ghost zone, I was to be crowned the new king and ruler of the ghost zone and all ghosts."

"I'm sorry what?" Sam asked.

"Dude you mean to tell me my best friend is a King? Hey can you make me a lord or something? Oh, I know! You can make me a knight! Can I get cool armor and a sword? A sword would be so cool!"

"Shut up Tucker!" Sam retaliated. "Are you joking Danny? I swear you better not, this is a serious thing!"

"Trust me the rulers of different parts of the ghost zone were all there like Dora and Frostbite, plus Clockwork and the observants had to read from this giant ancient book and it was a whole thing."

"So you have the ring of rage and crown of fire now?"

This is what I'm going to be wearing the rest of my life."

cream bronzer as a base, put all over the lid (if you wanna go up into the crease you can, just depends on your eye shape and where you like to place things). I find that bronzer makes a nice base for eyeshadow looks. the cream helps the shadows stick and the color kinda automatically matches my skin tone. plus I never do full faces of makeup lol so otherwise the brozer just sits there and I feel bad

gold shimmer in the middle third of the eye. I have a makeup revolution palette I got for like 8 bucks at target

periwinkle shimmer in the inner third and inner corner. this one is actually a highlighter from some Chinese brand. idk because my friend tried it and concluded she would never use it and gave it to me. but she's from China and bought it there. but anyway periwinkle is the best way to describe it

don't blend too much. like you don't want the line between the shimmers to be harsh but you don't want the colors really bleeding into each other much either

eyeliner. I used a pen and did like a little wing. not really a cat or following my eye down but somewhere in the middle

I think plotlines from both would be very intermingled, but it would be more theme wise than actually following specific plot points. And the reader would follow more of a Katniss archtype than a Harry/Chosen One. The reader would be a mentor, someone who’s already survived a game and had to watch six more games after.

It’d be a very dark story, just considering all the things victors had to endure in the Hunger Games books. Like tohave a protagonist whose actively enduring those things, but with the added terror of having even less of an ability to fight back because she’s a muggle. I can see her becoming a particular fascination for some more influential wizards. Some in admiration that she’s “not like the others” and some in more twisted power fantasies. How lonely it would be too. Being shunned by her own community because there’s no chance she wouldn’t have a ton of propaganda built around her to stop her becoming a symbol.

And oh, the magic! The blending of tech and magic, how the arenas are set up every year, the Dark Magic. 7 is an important number, but having 7 seven times? The 49th hunger games would be a very special one.

Air fryers are the greatest invention of all time! Here is my daily oat cracker recipe:

* 1 Tblsp extra virgin olive oil

* 3 Tblsp oat or almond milk

* Sprinkle of iodized salt

* 2 Tblsp sugar

Mix this up good, then add

* 2/3 cup oats

* 1/3 cup flour (I use a blend of white and brown rice, arrowroot starch, and millet or sorghum, if gf, be sure to add 2 tsp xanthan gum)

* 1 Tblsp flax seeds

Mix well and then press the dough into flat chips or roll them in a little more flour and slice them before baking after placing it on the trays. Top with some pink Himalayan salt or whatever seasoning. Air fry for 15-17 mins at 375

so, i recently got some new products that i felt would be really perfect for a more natural and dewy makeup look. i got the rare beauty under eye brightener and the new powder highlighter. i also got the too faced cloud crush blush in the shade velvet crush.

face:

i used glow recipes dew drops for a primer, a lot of my expensive makeup are just travel sizes i got as free samples or gift sets. but an alternative i like is the shop miss a aqua primer

i use the rare beauty under eye brightener, and it feels so good because the applicator is a metal ball and it’s supposed to depuff your eyes i think. it’s so perfect for no makeup days, no need to set it, and it blends effortlessly with just a finger.

shop miss a paw paw contour stick: yall… i really like this, it was the perfect cool toned contour because i’m pretty pale, and it honestly blends perfectly with a sponge and with the shape you can really draw your lines. also it’s $1.88. i like it better than the elf putty bronzer in feelin shady’, which i was liking, but this is way better.

i only used the too faced born this way concealer on my forehead and to spot conceal to avoid looking too cakey but giving coverage where i need it. a really good alternative for $13 is the sephora collection best skin ever concealer

omggg y’all. the new rare beauty powder highlighter is sooooooo good. i mean, it was literally a mouth dropping moment when i put it on. it has such a glass like, dewy shine and it is BEAMING like it is unreal. I had my bathroom lights off with the sun barely peeping through the window and you could literally still see it shining.

makeup forever ultra hd setting powder: i got this as a gift with a purchase from sephora and i only use a little on oily areas and i didn’t set my under eyes with it to avoid being too matte. it’s very brightening and blurring.

omggg the new TF cloud crush blush is sooo cute, it smells amazing, and i got the shade velvet crush and it’s the perfect neutral nude for a more natural day when you don’t want to use a bright pink. i bought this because i have way too many bright pink blushes.

eyes:

natasha denona shadow in shade flutter all over lids from the retro glam palette. i don’t have the palette, but i got a sample size from sephora. the shade is sooo pretty and shimmery , it reminds me of the white fenty diamond highlight

essence eye brightener: it’s just a normal nude liner, nothing special and it stays a decent amount of time but i’m just using it until i run out.

rare beauty mascara: i love this mascara so much, it’s pitch black, has great longevity, doesn’t flake, and really holds my lashes up all day. it’s really fierce that’s how i’ll describe it.

break up proof cream liner by wet n wild: it stays pretty nicely for the price, but also isn’t crazy hard to remove like some liners

brows:

elf bite size brow palette: sooo great if you like a quick natural brow, it comes with a clear wax, a tinted one, and 2 powders. this palette is best if you like a more natural brow i feel because the tinted wax isn’t very pigmented, but the powders are and you could bolden them. it’s really nice for $4

shop miss a aoa hold my brow soap: if you’ve been on my page for a while, you’ll see me mention this brand a lot. the epitome of quality affordable makeup. this brow soap will really hold your brows in place all day, and i prefer this over the clear wax in the elf bite size brow palette.

lips:

shop miss a wonder lip liner: these liners are affordable, buildable, blendable, and creamy!

tf hangover pillow balm: i love this product, it’s my 2nd tube and it’s very moisturizing, and you don’t absolutely have to have it, but it is my favorite high end lip balm so far.

tf lip injection extreme in strawberry: i’ve literally been obsessed with the too faced lip plumper since middle school. it’s been a repeat buy for me for years. it plumps my lips like no other brand, despite hearing crazy hype about a different product, i’m always brought back to this one because i feel like i haven’t found anything that compares yet. the color is also beautiful

Feliz Navidad!

Dinner for Christmas Eve was relaxed this year. I get so tired of the big production so, instead I made ... CARNITAS.

Three steps: Sear and brown in a skillet, slow cook in crockpot with stock, spice and allium matter, and shred/caramelize under a broiler. Sooooooo good, melt in your mouth goodness.

Mae secret spices: I season my pork shoulder with carribean jerk seasoning in addition to cumin, salt/pepper, cumin and marjoram. TrY It!

Accompianments:

Cabbage slaw: green cabbage, shredded carrot, cilantro with sour cream/lime dressing.

Refried pinto/black beans: onions, garlic, leak, bacon, beans and stock added from the carnitas slow cooker. Season with smoked paprika, dash of worchestershire, cumin and oregano.

Roasted Salsa Roja: peppers, onion, tomatoes, garlic, blended with fresh cilantro, dash of white vinegar, and 1/2 lime. Salt/pepper to taste.

Normally I would press my own tortillas but this year, my energy was a bit low. So, I totally cheated and bought the shells. The flour ones were decent, but yeah, I missed the taste of fresh, warm corn tortillas.

WELL, going off the origins of the park, mini-golf. it was a mini-golf course, and it spread to an on-site like trailer-sized escape room, and after that it the blueprints of an actual theme park was put into consideration. so those two attractions thrived for about 15 years n then it closed down for a bit, and reopened after the park opened. and ofc it wasn't as big as it is now but it still managed to get extremely popular. so there was money to start with since boss wasn't the original owner. maybe he was a close relative that uHHHH idk got the rights to it. somehow. the only living relative of a sad, semi-rich uncle. LMAO

anyway boss inherited it and started the park blah blah yeah so he was there for a while and just kinda corrupted it gradually,,,,,

YESSS who will steal it?? maybe like disney there could be like different locations. i'mma say no to that just cause idk but there are DEFINITELY people who get inspired and IMMEDIATELY shut down by the park cause boss is afraid of competition and extremely manipulative with his words :3c

Sooooooo funny post to get you through your Monday morning!!

I had a dream last night that was so realistic it was scary! For some reason my parents took me on a trip and we were exploring this mall or something. We rounded a corner and directly in front of me was this set that I recognized in my dream and started to panic and refused to go inside. It was like a cooking demonstration but hosted by TOM FREAKING HIDDLESTON and i somehow knew this!!!!

I remember going into a panic and my parents were laughing and practically dragging me inside. He was like shaggy haired, bearded Tom from the last few years with his glasses. So Professor Hiddleston with an apron over his suit and everything hahaha 😆

I was star struck and tried to keep my cool and blend in. After he had finished the meal, he turned and made eye contact with me and gave me a playful wink that made me feel slightly uneasy. He started this intro and I watched in horror as my mom stood up and handed him two books. Even though I haven't made a cover yet, for some reason I knew the first one was Something Good. My mother told him the other was a collection of the rest of the Loki/ Hiddleston fanfic that I've done on here 😳

I had to watch in slow motion horror and shear panic as he moved to sit in a chair and started READING IT. Like in front of everyone! Luckily it was silently to himself and not aloud but still. I was mortified and wanted to hide so bad.

After giving a few hums in response, he closed the books and walked over to me. He handed me a personal check for like 4 dollars and change and said, " These are mine now, darling."

With a smile and wave to everyone, he left and I woke up in a full on panic!

An American Werewolf in LA

Pitch: An old-school beat-them-up inspired by motion pictures of the 1980s. Dodge, dash, and punch until the timer runs out or you die trying.

My expectations: If you're going to make '80s-nostalgia-sploitation, go all the way. I have as much affinity for that decade's pop culture as the next person, I suppose. What stands out most in the screenshots is all the movie poster in the background. I hope the references go a little deeper than "here is the famous poster from a famous movie." And I could always do with a little less reverence toward Michael Jackson, Bill Murray, and the Landis family. Your nostalgia shouldn't make me go, "Huh, relatively, the Republican governor isn't so bad."

Review:

Remember when Herschel Walker said, “Vampires are some cool people,” before telling us that werewolves are even cooler? That wasn’t just politics. He cited sources. A werewolf can kill a vampire. There’s evidence a werewolf can surf on a car and is permitted to participate in high school athletics (unless the werewolf’s trans; that would be unfair, dangerous, and difficult to explain to my children).

An American Werewolf In LA takes liberties with these creatures. Werewolf movement is herky-jerky, actions are delayed, and the werewolf’s range is laughable. There’s this huge Teen Wolf sprite, with massive jaws and burly arms, but he can’t connect a hit without practically standing on his target.

Punches have a long wind-up, but the stiff animation doesn’t sell the power, especially when the wolf’s jacket blends into the background. Long, slow combos continue to play out after enemies are defeated, with no apparent way to cancel them.

Blocking is more effective than dodging, but since they’re both the same button, it’s difficult. Attempts to turn and block typically result in a dash straight into an oncoming attack or a block without turning. Fighting feels bad, and there’s nothing to this game except fighting, sooooooo…

+ This isn't a typical brawler, where the goal is to defeat every enemy and then progress to the next wave. Instead, the objective is to survive long enough to run out the clock. I like that. + Big, bold sprites that never stop bobbing up and down. I like them. + I gave up on the second level, but assuming they continue to add new enemy types and environmental obstacles to each stage, you can expect a decent amount of variety and challenge along the road to L.A. + A limited set of mechanics that are flexible enough for both fast, masterful action and slow, careful strategy.

– Fighting feels bad, and it's all fighting. – Stiff animations. Actions are difficult to read. – Movement speed, action speed, jump height, button mapping, animation length, input buffer, projectile speed, hit-detection, character size, character shape, sprite/background contrast—these are boring nerd things that I don't think about when they're all in tune with one another. Fundamentally, mathematically, An American Werewolf In LA disagrees with itself. – I'm putting a lot of blame on the visuals, but the audio doesn't sell the action or provide adequate feedback, either. The music is what someone thinks rockin', arcade-brawler music is, but it is not.

🧡🧡🤍🤍🤍 Bottom Line: There's a good chance you're looking at clips of An American Werewolf In LA, and thinking, "Well, of course Jake doesn't like it. He's bad at it!" You're right. I am bad at this game, but not this genre. Give me a brawler with something to offer, and I'll learn to overcome every quirk. Give me a confused jumble of ill-fitting pieces and '80s nostalgia, and I'll recommend you trust me when I say it feels worse than it looks.

Writing tidbit

so thanks to a good friend introducing me to a discord writing sprint. I wrote a fuck tun yesterday. Like a full 4k+ chapter 0-0. I want to share a tidbit of that. like the first two paragraphs just uh, it will be below the break because it is very not safe for work... like the whole chapter is smut sooooooo you’ve been warned  lol

The seconds ticked by, each one seeming like an agonizing eternity as Yedret’s departure left behind a tense, uncomfortable silence. It made the room so eerily quiet that even the faintest sound of a pin dropping would have shattered the stillness. And in the wake of his gluttonous feeding, the air around the little group was thick with an overwhelming stench of blood, fear, and arousal, which seemed to linger on the tongue. The captivating blend of odors produced an almost tangible aura of suspense and uncertainty. As they sat there, afraid to move, Dettlaff stirred in Geralt’s arms, his eyes slowly opening as he let out a gentle groan. He blinked owlishly a few times and then looked at the witcher, who was observing him closely. For a few moments, there was a pregnant pause as the vampire and the wolf took one another in, both searching the others face for some sort of comfort. The first to move was Dettlaff, his expression relaxing somewhat at the sight of man's flushing skin. “Omega,” as he spoke, his eyes fell to the wound on the white wolf‘s neck, and a look of concern passed over his face. The wound, which was still oozing, made his nostrils flare as he detected the unpleasant odor of venom mixed with blood. The vulgar realization of what the elder had done provoked him to shake his head and, out of an instinct to help his packmate, he reached a hand to Geralt’s neck. His fingers swept against the wound as the witcher gently leaned into the touch and let out a distressed, needy whimper. “Dettlaff, don’t, I—” Geralt murmured, as he fought to sit still. The melody of his labored breathing enveloped the pair as his prick twitched within the confines of his trousers. As it hardened, and Luciole momentarily pulled his hand away, a needy, whorish part of him ached for the vampire to keep touching him.
