the thing about venti is that he doesn't embody freedom so much as he nurtures it. venti is who he is today because the people taught him to love and he returned that tenfold. the people were the first to teach him autonomy and freedom, and his response is to protect that ideal
I just really love mondstadt's relationship with their "absentee" archon a lot. there's something almost poetic about how just by being themselves, they sort of "created" their own god. a wind wisp became their archon by observing and living with them (ofc I'm oversimplifying it)
as described in freedom sworn, it's the anemo archon who actually takes on his region's characteristics, not the other way around. it is not that mondstadt is the nation of freedom because of venti, but that venti is the god of freedom because of mondstadt. and now you have that same archon asking what I will argue is actually the best quote of genshin, "what is freedom when demanded of you by a god?"

Hey, you're being lied to about what fitness constitutes. If you can't work in an hour-long crossfit slog, but you can work in a five-minute walk, then that is still fitness. If you can't use your legs but you can do arm circles every now and again, that is still fitness. If you're moving around at work, that's still fitness. It can be intentional or incidental, but here's the best part: your body doesn't care if you're dedicating specific work-out times. It doesn't care if the "only" fitness it gets is your nine to five on your feet. It doesn't care, fitness is fitness is fitness. Some of us do it differently, but the end result is more or less similar.
If you can do any type of fitness safely, your body isn't going to care if you're doing it like an Olympic athlete or if you're just a casual.

Funny life update, finding out from new crew that teaching a 10 year old (me) how to strip and clean pistols and rifles and then proceed to time them on how fast they do is not in fact a fun gun game to learn as a child but instead not normal and now I'm being questioned about who my family is and why exactly I was taught this

im a sonic 06 defender but one of the things about that game that i absolutely cannot defend is its handling of blaze . literally one of the coolest sonic characters ever yet they had her do almost nothing of importance other than die at the end to make silver sad . she interacts with nobody other than silver and on the rare occasion she appears in a scene with someone else she just stands there and says nothing while the other character doesnt acknowledge her existence at all . the only thing she really adds other than dying is making everything way more confusing than it needs to be because her being from the future and seemingly not knowing sonic contradicts what we already knew about her. overall it just doesnt seem like they put much thought into her inclusion and i wouldnt be surprised to find out she was a last minute addition. blaze youdidnt deserve this bestie

the thing with snufkin is that it feels like the team WANTED to do more, but just had to cut the content down bc of the nature of game development. like, if they had infinite time and budget, they would've added a lot more to it.
ok that sounds like a generic statement you could make about any game lmao, but I feel like it especially applies here. possibly influenced by it being a licensed property, so moom characters would've given them deadlines on top.

Don't You Try and Make Some Fool of Me
summary:
With his world on the brink of collapse, he knows there’s no easy way out, except how maybe there is. He can only hope it’s worth the sacrifice he’s about to make.
Or, the ending events of chapter 9 of Love is a Losing Game, but from Illya's perspective.
notes:
inspired by Love is a Losing Game by @cha-melodius <3
The fic may or may not make sense without the original, I really can't say, but REGARDLESS I think everyone should read Love is a Losing Game because it's LITERALLY SO GORGEOUS AND SO AMAZING I am in love with it, probably, and there aren't enough words for me to express how much I absolutely adore it.

Falling out, Emotional Hurt No Comfort, Angst, inspired by another fic, competitive chess au, Napoleon Solo Needs a Hug, Illya Kuryakin Needs a Hug, Mutual Pining, Angst without a happy ending, but there is a happy ending in the original fic, POV Illya Kuryakin
excerpt:
Anger courses through him, thick and revolting, a nauseating combination of fire and ice that shakes him to his very core. He isn’t even certain what he’s mad at, nor who. Napoleon, for putting him in this position? Oleg, for causing this to exist in the first place?
As he lifts a trembling hand to Napoleon’s door, it’s really impossible to say what the true source of his anger is, because upon seeing Napoleon, it’s gone as though it were never there.
The relief in Napoleon’s eyes leaves him breathless and for a moment his resolve is shattered. There’s something in Napoleon’s ocean eyes that preemptively shatters his heart. Chest aching, he wonders how he could’ve ever thought he’d be able to do this.
